A Nigerian lady identified as Ijeoma Chinonyerem, has taken to Facebook to recount the bizarre incident that happened when she was in university.
According to her, she had a friend who wanted her rich working-class boyfriend to propose marriage to her as she suspected that he was cheating on her with another working class lady.
In order to get him to do her bidding, she visited a prayer house in Abakaliki and the prophetess instructed her to bring honey, olive oil, doll baby and cane/koboko for prayers.
The desperate friend was given specific instructions on how to use the items, which she did religiously. Unfortunately, the effect weakened the man and eventually lead to his death.
Ijeoma, however, stated that she is not sure if the diabolic exercise was related to the man’s death but admonished people to stop visiting different places, in the name of prayers.
When we were in second year in the uni, I had this friend who frequented different prayer houses. I normally went to their lodge to sleep over. I saw nothing wrong with her hopping from one prayer house to the other cos I felt na God she dey find. I even followed her to a few. Like 3 or so.
In retrospect, I now think everything is wrong with a young girl of 20/21 jumping from one prayer house to another.
Anyway, that’s not the gist.
The gist is that she was dating a well-to-do guy then living in Abuja. The guy was from Ezza, just like her. He was rich, lived in a fabulous duplex in Abuja and was building a house in the village. He was also the only son.
Now, the few occasions she visited him, she found out he had a working class girl he was probably dating or having a fling with. The guy was in his early 30s and the lady was probably in her late 20s or early 30s too. She also had a car. So it was intimidating for my friend who was a 2nd year student in her early 20s.
Where do you even start to compete?
She said the lady would come to the house, chat with the guy in her presence and leave. We weren’t a 100% sure they were dating but she said she knew what she saw, plus female instincts.
Now, this is where it gets interesting.
The guy had been hinting at settling down as the only son. My friend really wanted him to marry her. I mean, who wouldn’t? He was living large. But the obstacle as far as she was concerned was the working class lady.
We all took her side and so hated the working class lady. Again, in retrospect, we were just young and foolish. Now that I’m a working class lady, I can admit we were probably just jealous.
Anyway, back to the gist.
To secure her slot as the woman he would marry, she visited this prayer lady in Abakaliki with the man’s name and told her everything. Including the fact that he’s probably cheating on her with the working class lady.
This woman asked her to buy 4 things and bring for her to pray upon:
Honey
Olive oil
Doll baby
Cane/koboko
Wait, it gets weirder.
She told her to pray with the honey and ask God to make her life and love with the man as sweet as the honey.
Ok, not weird.
To use the olive oil to anoint herself to be chosen. Not bad.
Then the doll baby. She should name the doll baby after the man. *weird alert*
And every morning while praying, she should use the cane to flog the doll baby (the man) as many times as possible. She should tell him to stop running around after women and face only her. And to hurry up and marry her.
It sounded super weird but then, we didn’t think much of it.
So every morning, she’d play Frank Edward’s new album, pray, anoint herself, drink the honey and flog the devil out of that doll. As she flogged it, she ordered it/him to stay faithful to her, to love her and to come marry her.
This started late October and kept on happening for weeks.
The guy came into town to inspect the project he had in the village. He lodged in a hotel. She went to see him with the spiritual fortifications the prayer woman made for her. He finished his business and went back to Abuja.
She continued the flogging.
The guy started complaining of uneasiness and small small headache. That he no dey get strength to go clubbing again.
She felt the prayers were working and continued the flogging. After all, no clubbing equals no girls, shebi?
In December the guy came back for Christmas and took ill. She continued the flogging.
He got very sick. She was still flogging.
26th abi 27th, he died.
Remember they were both from Ezza. His death caused an uproar cos he was almost done with the building project. An only son. This and that.
The family went to juo ase and they said the young man nwuchuru anwuchu. That the death is not ordinary. That aka mmadu di na ya.
So the family started suspecting the young man’s uncles and business associates. What if they killed the boy out of jealousy?
Our friend cried that these wicked uncles had killed her man. But one of our friends pointed out that this man was hale and hearty before the flogging of the doll baby started. That perhaps, it was not “village people” that killed him but our friend flogged him to his death.
And that was how wahala started.
She went to the woman’s prayer house and she said something about “how many times did she flog the man? Hope she did not overdo it.”
The only good thing that came out of it was that she stopped going there.
Till today, I find it to be a bizarre incident. Maybe it’s a coincidence. Maybe the flogging is related to the death. I do not know.
But no dey enter everywhere in the name of prayer house.

Chacha Eke’s brother, Ikechukwu Eke has dismissed the rumour that the Nollywood actress’s marriage ended because of domestic violence.
Recall that ChaCha Eke Faani announced the end of her marriage to Austin Faani. ChaCha made the shocking disclosure via a video which has gone viral on social media.
In the video, she can be heard saying ;
I’m not crazy, this video is to let the world know that i am done with the marriage, I don’t have a lot to prove that i am done with him but i am done. I am leaving with my life finally. I can’t say a lot now but you will hear my story.
Ike shared a lengthy post on Instagram addressing the reports that have been making rounds on social media that Chacha Eke was physically assaulted by her husband.
According to him, there are several reasons why people quit their marriage and domestic violence is the most popular in this part of the world but he emphasized that this is not the case in Chacha’s marriage.
He stated that he doesn’t have the right to relay the root cause of the separation.
He however reassured well wishers that the Nollywood actress is fine and smiling.
His post reads,
There was a time in 2012 when I always post my negative experiences on Social media, I post when I’m hungry, when I’m sad, when I’m broke, when I’m sick etc. My Mom and Sister (Charity) told me to stop posting and showing the world my pains that people will pretend to sympatise with me and use my weakness against me someday. The advice helped me to master the art of social media, it made me show the world what I wanted them to see and not all of me. Surprisingly Charity did the unexpected on Saturday morning with the viral video but I paused and thought “What if she did not break the rule? What if she only wanted the world to see a bit of what she wants to show them.” She said and I quote “I’m Done, I’m not crazy, you’ll hear from me soon”.
She’s done
She’s not crazy
You’ll hear from her soon
I admit her mistake by bringing it on social media but if it worked for her at the moment, if it was a way to calm her down in whatever she was passing through then it was worth it ??
I’ve been receiving calls and text messages, I’ve seen different posts with different and funny captions. People has gone ahead with their versions and has concluded what happened but no, THIS WAS NOT A CASE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, FAR FAR FROM IT… IT HAS NEVER BEEN, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HAS RECEIPTS (SCARS, BRUISES ETC). People have different reasons for wanting to quit their union but DOMESTIC VIOLENCE has become the most mentioned, assumed and popular in this part of the world. Similar things happens when someone’s threshold for pain has been exhausted, when someone has reached an elastic limit. It’s OK to let emotions out in which ever way that works best for one as far as it does not bring harm.
Please let me use this medium to reply all messages and calls, She is very fine and smiling. I repeat this is not a case of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and it’s not in my place to tell you whatever ensued.

According to her, on the 15th of September, she was on a phone call with her friend Benita when Lil Frosh came in and asked her to turn on her hotspot that he wanted to use it to have a video call with his moms lawyer, which she did.

I was in a cab last week when one of my fellow passengers started hyperventilating. The driver parked, gave the woman water and prayed for her. It was a wake up call for me. If the whole world was like me, would we be living in a safe world?
Amen. Will it be the same positive feedback, if the driver was a Muslim and total stranger chanting Allahu Akbar on steering? What did the book of Ecclesiastics 3 say?

Reality TV star, Ella Nnabuchi got in a heated exchange with fellow ex-housemate, Venita Akpofure over a trivial issue.
Ella recently lost access to her verified Instagram account after losing her login details and has been struggling to grow her new account.
In the light of this, an Instagram user charged Venita and other housemates to show love and support to Ella by promoting her new account.
Venita however shaded Ella by insinuating that she is behind the faceless account, and this led to the heated exchange.
In response to Venita’s subtle attack, Ella fired back at her. She wrote, “Why u clout chasing? Why mentioning my name in this? Use this time to think of ur kids .. this is dumb.”

Former housemate, Ella Nnabuchi’s neck was on the chopping block as her fellow ex-housemates called her out for using her mum’s illness to make them look bad.
Recall that in November 2019, Ella publicly seeked help online for her mum’s ill health, which she didn’t share details about.
However, the other housemates revealed that Ella got money from some of them and still went public and begged for money, making them all look bad, as people kept asking why she was begging when the housemates could help.
Venita Akpofure in particular, was livid as she called Ella out, saying she suspects strongly that she is very deceitful.
“Ella pulled what I will call a publicity stunt, she made every single one of us look bad. I strongly suspect that she is very deceitful, and bipolar possibly” Venita said.

The governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun is presently under fire on social media for gifting BBNaija season 5 winner, Laycon, five million naira and a three bedroom apartment.
Recall that on Tuesday Dapo Abiodun appointed Laycon as Youth Ambassador and Member of Ogun State Executive Council, as well as gifted him five million naira and a house.
According to the governor the appointment and gifts are a celebration of Laycon’s good character, intellect and virtues which made him stand out on the reality show.
In his words,
“A proud son of Ogun State, Laycon displayed the essence of focus in the face of temptations and provocations. This is the true Ogun State spirit, and it indeed confirms that this earned him his academic achievement at the University of Lagos.”
However many Nigerians seem not to be happy with the governors gesture of gifting the rapper such gifts.
Olubunmi Samuel wrote,
“This year overall best students in JETS competition throughout Nigeria were not recognized by the governor despite making the state proud. So it’s those set of people that locked themselves up in a room engaging in every form of immoral acts that can inspire the Governor?”
Taiwo Sulaimon wrote,
“What a waste of Ogun State money! You should be ashamed of yourself. You don’t give productive people cash gift. You are a disgrace Mr Governor.”
Another netizen Funmilayo Oresile wrote,
“This is totally a disgrace to the Ogun State Government. Do you know how many brilliant citizens of Ogun State are out there suffering, that can’t even get a living? Some are wandering around to get school fees, while some had graduated years ago with good grades but nothing to do as a living. Does it mean education is not the best legacy any longer?
