The final Saturday night party in this year’s big brother naija house saw a little bit of reunion as previously evicted housemates were invited to have a final groove with the finalists.

The housemates used the opportunity to catch up on the memories made in the house but one little observation that was very interesting was the fact that Ozo ignored his close ally, Nengi, throughout the party.

Later on, Nengi was seen lamenting about how she was ignored.

A crying Nengi told Laycon ;

I was trying to talk to Ozo, he was ignoring me. Even Prince spoke to me but Ozo was ignoring me. That friendship is over

In less than 48 hours, the curtain will be drawn on what has been a very entertaining season of the Big Brother Naija reality show which was themed ‘lockdown’ edition, a theme that suited the realities of the outside world.

This year has undoubtedly been an interesting yet innovative one. The covid-19 pandemic changed the order of things and reality TV was not left out.

The BBNaija auditions were done online and painstakingly, the housemates were picked to be the next big thing in the country. They were 20 in number and they came into the house with alot of confidence and swagger….pause…. there was however, one young man whose appearance/entrance instantly became the butt of jokes and brutal memes, his name – LAYCON.

LAYCON instantly became a trending topic on micro-blogging website, Twitter. He was deemed to be the type of Nigerian youth that would be an easy target for police harassments and other palaver.

However, things started taking a different twist upon the discovery that the young man is a very promising rapper with a philosophical brain (Mad oo)

Laycon’s fans was birthed and they tagged themselves ”THE ICONS”, it was a whole new level of stanning for the UNILAG graduate.

Laycon’s time in the house has been a fairytale, he kept on dominating the trends and his fanbase did not stop growing. Laycon was put up for possible eviction for several weeks and in those weeks, his votes polled a high percentage.

He got embroiled in a dramatic love-triangle with Erica and the topsy-turvy relationship they did or did not have culminated in getting the latter disqualified.

Laycon moved on from that messy moment as his fans brushed it aside. They gave so much energy and hype was built for his name anytime it came to the business of voting.

Man kills and buries his 70-year-old father inside a shallow grave in Anambra (photos)

A 26-year-old man, Chisom Ogum, has been arrested by men of the Anambra state police command for allegedly killing his biological father, Christopher Ogum, 70, and burying him in a shallow grave in Umuomaku community in Orumba South local government area of the state today September 26.

According to reports, Chisom reportedly went berserk, attacked, and killed his father with a shovel and then buried him in a shallow grave. The suspect attempted to escape before he was apprehended and beaten to stupor by an angry mob who equally forced him to exhume the corpse of his father from where he buried it.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, Haruna Mohammed, said police detectives visited the scene of the crime, photographed the victim and took the corpse to the mortuary for autopsy after it was certified dead by a medical doctor at Umunze general hospital.

Haruna said the offensive weapon used in perpetrating the offence was also recovered as an exhibit.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang has ordered for the case to be transferred to the State CID Awka for discreet investigation.

A man and his ex-girlfriend have broken up after he found out that she slept with a married man to pay his school fees.

A WhatsApp chat between the man and his ex-girlfriend surfaced online and the subject matter of their discussion centres on why he broke up with her.

According to their chat, the man simply known as Alex had moved on and gotten into a new relationship but the ex sought to know why he broke up with her and what his new woman is doing right that she failed to do.

Alex revealed that there are many reasons for him ending their relationship, one of which includes how she supposedly was not taking care of herself.

But she quickly chipped in that she was very busy trying to take care of his financial needs hence why she did not have time for herself.

Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ housemate, Neo has told fellow housemate, Laycon that he behaves like Ozo to his like interest, Vee.

He made the comparison during a conversation with Laycon on Friday night. Laycon had approached him to discuss the recent issues with Vee and their relationship in the house.

Neo explaining his feelings, said the way he has acted far towards Vee is just as Ozo did to Nengi.

Hero father who took a bullet while protecting his children from shooter loses his two jobs

Anthony Jefferson, the hero dad who was shot while protecting his 3 children from a shooter at a car dealership has been fired from his two jobs.

The loving father was shot in the right thigh when he used himself as a human shield to protect his kids during the shooting inside a Bronx car dealership.

His wife, Danica Jefferson revealed to TMZ that her husband is currently unable to walk after suffering a gunshot wound when a gunman started shooting in the dealership earlier this week.

Danica added that due to her husband’s inability to walk at the moment, he has been fired from his two jobs as head painter at a maintenance company and as a construction worker in New York City.

Anthony has been discharged from the hospital, but still has the bullet lodged in his leg, and Danica says he’ll need another surgery in the near future.

She went further to disclose that their three children – aged 6, 5, and 2 – are also suffering from trauma after having witnessed the shooting.

The mom says her kids are reluctant to go outside and they cry in their sleep while the youngest asks; “Why did the man shoot my daddy?”

The family is hoping to get their kids in to see a therapist as soon as possible.

The frustration and desperation that builds up in a young person after acquiring different certificates and yet find it hard to secure a job can cause him/her to make irrational decisions.

The aforementioned has seemingly caused a young man from Katsina state identified as Usman Abubakar to burn all his certificates including National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) University degree, WAEC.

According to reports on various Hausa Facebook pages, the frustrated young graduate burnt all the certificates because he was unable to secure a job since he left school.

Usman is not the first Nigerian graduate to do this, recall that in 2019, a graduate burnt all his certificates, saying school is the biggest scam in the world.

Toyin Adewale, a veteran thespian and happily married mum of two, disclosed in a chat with City People she initially did not support her son’s music ambition. She also said she still monitors him daily, despite his fame and age.

“It makes me proud and I am happy about it, I never knew Mayowa will go into music. He used to be a junior choir master while in the choir, but never knew he would go this far, because he has always been a very quiet, easy-going person. Nigerian lady publicly accuses her father of repeatedly raping her as a child

A Nigerian lady known as Renua Giwa-Amu on Facebook, has taken to the platform to publicly accuse her father who is a pastor of repeatedly raping her as a child.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Renua accused her father of sexually abusing many children left under his watch, She claimed that her friends couldn’t come visiting because they were scared her father would molest them.

She wrote,

“Mr OBAFEMI EHIMIGBAI GIWA-AMU:
I know that you are a child molester, your numerous victims outnumber you and I remember everything now. All I have to say to you is this: You, your rings of pedophiles, bullies, thieves, hired cronies and family gang can do whatever you like in eternum. You already do so, and my belief in karma is strong enough to know that you have already begun the processes that will eventually be your own downfall. But lately, I got triggered again into remembering details about certain threats against me and my siblings you often made against our lives if I was ever to become successful and return to Nigeria after daring to come forward with my truth. I already did that. I had the nervous breakdown in 2018 when the truth about your various exploits and smuggling schemes finally came back to me in a big, horrible way.

“So, take note; if really you want to live long enough to indeed be the old dog turning tired tricks that you already are, you would be advised to start covering your pedophile tracks more efficiently. We both know you won’t; that is how your specific and vile pathology works. I only feel sorry for the countless women and men who consciously or unconsciously allowed you access into their lives, homes, children and businesses over the decades of your horrific schemes. Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ contestant, Laycon has thrown a heavy shade at former ‘bestie’ and disqualified housemate, Erica.

Laycon while speaking with the other four remaining housemates on Friday in the garden, said they are finalists and don’t roll with disqualified housemates.

“…finalists, we don’t roll with people that have been disqualified,” he said before Dorathy cut him short that the word is a bit sensitive to use in the house.

Laycon who had previously revealed that he felt intimidated when he first entered the house noted that Neo helped him regain confidence.

The musician during his diary session, told biggie that he is happy to have met Neo because he was the first housemate who spoke to him and boosted his confidence after he left the stage.

Narrating how Neo helped him, he said Neo complimented his Jacket with the lights because he was in doubt and didn’t want to be made fun of because of it.

Laycon also noted that Neo gave him courage to turn on the lights on his Jacket.

Recall that, Laycon recently revealed his biggest fear when he gets outside the Big brother house on Sunday.

During a conversation with Nengi on Tuesday, Laycon said his biggest fear is getting trolled and insulted on social media.

In his words, “I’m scared of trolls trying to say hurtful things about me and those I care about when we get out of here on Sunday.”

Nigerian Publisher, Betty Irabor has weighed in on the submission in Marriage debate.

Taking to her Twitter account, she opined that no woman will ever submit to a man who thinks his wife owes him submission.

The Nigerian author who has been married for over 30 years, added that submission will always come naturally to a responsible husband who takes care of his wife.

Her Tweet reads,

“I have read a lot about “wives submitting to their husbands” and the counter arguments..Truth is, submitting to a “na man u bi” kind of guy; who cares for u & also “submits” to u comes naturally. No woman will ever SUBMIT to a bully who thinks his wife OWES him submission.”

She shared a screenshot of the tweet on her Instagram page to get public opinion on the matter and some people have given a different perspective to it.

Instagram user with username @yusuf_writes had this to say,

“They say respect is reciprocal. But not everyone knows how to reciprocate it. Some take you for a fool. I have heard a lot of women say “I need a man that can handle me.” Such women see submissive men as weak. A friend of mine separated from his wife because “he was too good.” She cheated on him because he was too submissive. That’s what she tells people today. Her husband always agreed with everything she said and she got fed up. She said she needed a real man. The guy says he has learnt his lesson and he isn’t going to be a nice guy anymore. I know of several cases like that. In this season’s big brother, we saw Ozo’s behavior in the house. He used to cook for Nengi. And yesterday, Neo was trending for washing Vee’s panties. Many people, including women called them names. There are many men like Ozo and Neo out there. But in our society, they are called mumu. We hear different rules everyday. Today some ladies talk about how it is romantic to open doors for women and pull the chair for them. Tomorrow another lady would say doing that is wrong because it makes women look weak. Honestly, a lot of young men are confused in regards to women and are asking: what do women really want? I’m not confused though ?”
