Pastor Emmanuel Iren who is the lead pastor of Celebration Church International in Lagos, made this known on his official Twitter account yesterday, September 10th, 2020.

A Kenyan Twitter personality Captain kale, has courted controversy on the platform after stating that married women shouldn’t be given freedom after marriage as according to him, if you pay her dowry, she becomes your property.

He made this known while reacting to a topic in which radio host, Maina Kagena asked women about the definition of freedom in marriage.

“Ladies, when you tell your husband you want freedom in your marriage/relationship, what do you mean” the topic reads.

In his own reaction, Captain Kale alluded giving freedom to women to handing a fully loaded gun to your enemy.

“When I married her, I paid for her, hence me owning her. She should do as I say. Even her going to say hi to her parents needs me to think about it,” he tweeted.

“Women are irresponsible human beings and they need to be guided everytime. They can’t function without someone being hard on them,”

“Giving women freedom is like giving a gun full of bullets to your enemy” Kale added.

The GoFundMe Account created for disqualified Big Brother Naija Lockdown housemate, Erica has hit and surpassed N10 million naira.

Recall that her fans started a fundraising campaign for her on a popular crowdfunding platform, GoFundMe, and in less than 3 hours after the launch of the campaign, more than $9,000 had been raised.

They set a target of $100,000 in order for Erica to finance her hopes and aspirations, as she lost all her winnings in the reality show following her disqualification.

Four days after creating the account, 307 fans have donated a total sum of $27,618, which is approximately N10.5 million and still counting.

Mixed reactions have trailed the GoFundMe account, as some people claim it is a “misplaced priority”.

In a recent post, a die hard fan of the movie star jumped to the comment section on Instagram to reveal the amount he donated adding that more will be added when he receives his salary.

Kaduna assembly approves castration as punishment for rapists

The Kaduna State House of Assembly on Friday, September 11th approved castration as punishment for anyone convicted for rape in the state.

This follows the amendment of the State Penal Code (No.5), law of 2017 which stipulates stiffer penalties for rapists in the state as part of effort to protect women and children against any form of gender violence.

The spokesman of the House, Musa Ahmed noted that anyone convicted of rape will have his organ surgically removed.

In his words,

“Anyone convicted of rape will have his organ surgically removed so that even upon completion of his jail term, will not be able to commit the crime again.”

Ahmed added that in addition to the castration of the convicted rapist, the new law entails 21 years imprisonment for the rape of an adult and life imprisonment for the rape of a minor.

The wife of the Kaduna state Governor, Ummi El-Rufai during a public hearing on the Bill seeking the amendment of the penal code last month, proposed either castration or death sentence for rapists.

She described the act of rape as a gross violation of the rights of women and children.

Big Brother Naija star, Tokunbo Idowu, popularly known as TBoss has revealed that she had her child through cesarean section beacuse she was eager to meet her.

Tboss recently took to Instagram to recount circumstances that surrounded the birth of her daughter.

The mother of one narrated how she had to choose between becoming a mother and continuing with the “celebrity lifestyle” and how she had to bring out her baby before the due date because she couldn’t wait to meet her.

Kiddwaya’s Instagram handler in a live chat recently promised to ensure the billionaire son is never friends with Laycon outside the house.

According to the handler, the only reason why the billionaire is cool with Laycon is that he has not heard what he said behind his back.

Netflix subscribers have been advocating for people to boycott the Movie streaming platform for releasing “Cuties”, a movie that sexualizes preteens.

If you recall, Netflix apologized on Twitter for the “inappropriate” marketing poster it released to promote the French movie after they were deeply critized.

“We’re deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for Mignonnes/Cuties. It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which won an award at Sundance,” Netflix shared on Twitter. “We’ve now updated the pictures and description.” They tweeted.

However, the film still premiered on the platform on September 9th as earlier stated.

Shocking clips were released online by viewers of the movie showing the kids dancing and twerking in a provocative manner. This scenes has sparked massive outrage worldwide as subscribers have criticized Netflix on social media with the hashtag #CancelNetflix.

Governor Samue Ortom of Benue State few days ago revealed that the most wanted criminal in the state he governs, Terwase Akwaza “Gana” was intercepted by soldiers while on his way to surrender.

However, One of the five widows of the Benue militia leader Gana, Wantor Akwaza, has revealed that her husband was not a wicked and that he wanted to work for God before he was killed.

On Thursday September 10th, Wantor in an interview said that her husband was on his way to surrender to Benue State Government before being shot dead by soldiers.

She also revealed that her husband came out of hiding because Senator Gabriel Suswam told him he was involved in the peace deal.

In her words,

“I was in Makurdi when they called to inform me of the incident. Senator Gabriel Suswam went to meet him on Saturday because when they went for him on the second amnesty issue, he said if he did not see Suswam, he was not going to come out.

“That until Suswam comes around, he will not believe that the amnesty is true. After the initial amnesty he went back into the bush. When the second amnesty programme started, he was briefing me about the development.

“I spoke with him on Saturday and he told me that he was going for the amnesty and that he is tired of the life he was living.

“He told me that he has worked for too long and that he wants to work for God and be a free man. My husband was not a wicked man. I am not saying it because I am his wife. My husband was not a wicked person.” She added.

Wantor said she wants the Government to bring those who killed her husband to justice and compensation of N5 billion should be given to the family.

When asked how he feels to be nominated, Prince said he has mixed emotions about eviction on Sunday.

He, however, noted that he is hopeful of escaping the eviction and being in semi-finals.

“I’m doing good and glad that I won a juicy task which relieved the pain from the nominations.

Kano State Fire Service recover body of 10-year-old boy who drowned in a pond

Men of the Kano State Fire Service have recovered the body of a little boy identified as Aminu Ilu, who drowned in a pond in the state.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday morning, September 10, when Aminu went to take a bath in the pond popularly known as Italian Pond.

Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, the Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, said in a statement ;

“We received a distress call from Maiduguri road by Danladi Nasidi Kumbotso local government at 09:57 am hours, through Malam Ado Sule,” the statement reads.

“In response to call we sent our rescue team to the scene of incident and discovered that it was a boy of about 10 years who drowned in a pond popularly ITALIAN POND. The victim was rescued unconscious,”

“His corpse was handed to the ward head of Mariri Kata village, Alhaji Gambo Adamu on behalf of his family. We advice people to join hand with fire service to stop our young ones from going local swimming”

Big Brother Naija housemate Laycon is said to perform alongside Wizkid and Burna Boy at the forthcoming AfroNation festival as co-founder has offered him a slot.

The festival which is slated to take place in 2021 in Portugal, will be a 3-day event that will see top music stars like Wizkid, Olamide and Burna Boy performing.

The show organizer, Adesegun Adeosun Jr popularly known as King Smade recently wowed Laycon’s fans when he revealed he’ll get the housemate – who is a musician – to perform at AfroNation festival.

Nigerian Singer and music producer, Samklef who is a Laycon stan earlier made a post suggesting they throw a party to celebrate when Laycon wins.

Responding to this, King Smade, The show organizer of AfroNation festival took to the comment section to reveal that he will have the housemate perform at the festival.

He wrote,

“I will have him perform at AfroNation festival! Lay on for the win!”

Samklef shared a screenshot of the comment via Twitter and fans cannot curtail their happiness, have they’ve taken to the platform to celebrate their favourite.

For an upcoming act like Laycon, this offer, if accepted will be a dream come true for him as it would be to any musician hustling for a breakthrough.

Popular Nigerian media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa has warned people to stop calling her their role model.

The media personality asserted that she is also still figuring out her life and doesn’t want to be pressured into conforming to people’s standard.

According to her, she said she is not perfect and even disappoints herself sometimes. Hence, people shouldn’t pressure her to be a “role model” as she would disappoint them with no apologies.

She, however, admonished people to be inspired by her life and use it as a guideline to be better.

Her tweet reads,

“Guys I gotta get this off my chest, pls stop calling me your role model, I am no ones role model, me sef I am looking for “role model”. The pressure of my kids love you and you are their role model has to stop. Raise your kids to see themselves as a work in progress.

“If a part of my life inspires you, by all means use it as a guideline to be better, pls I am also trying out this thing called life. I am not perfect, I will disappoint you with no apologies. I disappoint myself too, the difference is I get up and move on.

“I accept my flaws all, I am under no pressure to fit into your ideal of what perfection looks like, I am figuring me out too. Pls be inspired but don’t pressure me to be a “role model”, I love my loud, goofy, silly and witty self too much to submit to your standard.

Sadiya Magatakarda Wamakko, the daughter of former Sokoto state Governor, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. has unfortunately passed away.

She died at the age of 23 following childbirth complications on Thursday, September 10 2020.

Miss Sadiya Magatakarda Wamakko died at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.

She was laid to rest on the same day. The funeral prayer was conducted at her father’s residence at Sahabi Dange road, Gawon Nama, Sokoto.

The funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Sultan Bello Juma’at Mosque, Sokoto, Liman Malami Shehu Akwara.

In attendance was Senator Wamakko, former Deputy Governor and National Commissioner, National Population Commission, Alhaji Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo, as well as another former Deputy Governor and Executive Secretary, Police Trust Fund , Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.

Other dignitaries who were in attendance at the funeral were Magajin Garin Sokoto and Magajin Rafin Sokoto, Alhaji Hassan Danbaba and Alhaji Rilwanu Bello, respectively.

Mr. Wamakko is currently the chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption.
