It’s no news that BBNaija: Lockdown housemate, Laycon is overly interested with current Head of House, Erica, who has made it clear to him that she’s only mentally attracted to him.

The desire of Laycon to be with Erica has been a topic of interest among viewers of the show, as a lot of people are expecting the singer to move on since she has told him already how she feels about him.

In light of this, a viewer of the show has opined that were it not for the Big Brother Naija house, Laycon, in real life wouldn’t have even had the mind to confront Erica and her stance has since caused a stir online.

The lady wrote in a tweet,

Her stance has since garnered a lot of reactions from viewers as they counter her saying if it weren’t for the BBNaija show, Kiddwaya too wouldn’t have looked Erica’s way.

Recall Erica emerged the fourth HOH and unsurprisingly, picked Kiddwaya as her deputy which automatically guaranteed immunity from eviction and would also give them a much-needed private time to bolster their romantic affair.

The couple seized the opportunity to make out and they were caught on camera.

Another cut in the video showed the moment a dismayed Laycon stared into nothingness, probably filing his mind with what must have been going on in the HOH room.

This is coming after Erica confessed that it was difficult not having sex with Kiddwaya during their first night in the house.

While Tochi’s eviction came as a bit of surprise to viewers, we have to admit that seeing Eric leave the house wasn’t a shocker.

Eric had been in a relationship with ex-housemate Lilo, and his relationship with her consumed his time, preventing him from interacting with the other housemates and showcasing his personality to viewers. Even after Lilo’s eviction, Eric still had quite the low-profile week.

Unfortunately, after Lilo was evicted she appeared to blame Eric for her early dismissal from the house. Eric was initially looking forward to continuing his relationship with her, but on hearing what Lilo had said about her relationship with him, he said he was shocked but not surprised, and added that he respected her decision to go back to her boyfriend.

Eric also explained that his relationship with Lilo was not an act or any kind of strategy. and in responding to Lilo’s claim of being distracted by a relationship with Eric, he replied that they distracted each other.

‘Lilo and I distracted each other,’ he said.

When asked about his thoughts about the other housemates, Eric explained that he believes Erica is playing a game with the Laycon/Kiddwaya love triangle, that Nengi’s behaviour in the house is a part of her strategy, and that he would like for Neo to win because he’s a great guy and a good friend.

Eric holds no hard feelings about being voted out, and he has a lot of plans for the future. He wants to get back into fitness, develop an athletics apparel brand, launch a charity foundation, and go back to school to complete his Bachelor’s degree.

Big Brother Naija fans have berated past winner, Mercy Eke over some comments she made concerning this year’s edition.

Pepper Dem winner, Mercy Eke is quite pissed with the people who have been pestering her to support one of the current Big Brother Naija: Lockdown housemates.

In a live video she made recently, Mercy is seen quite agitated over how people have been bothering her and asking her to pick a favourite. She’s seen telling those who it may concern, to leave her alone… that she’ll done whatever it is that she want whenever she wants.

Fans of the show are now calling her ‘ungrateful’ for not having time for a show that brought her to limelight.

Nollywood actress, Sylvia Oluchy has berated photographers who have cultivated the culture of issuing out fame as a compensation for injustice and poverty.

Sylvia Oluchy whose tweets centered on how Olajumoke Orisaguna turned out after she became famous and the recent photo campaigns of the woman whose husband allegedly abandoned for giving birth to daughters with blue eyes, noted that issuing out fame as compensation for injustice and poverty is instrincally flawed.

This culture of photographers issuing out FAME as a compensation for injustice and poverty is instrincally flawed. Fame is not a reward. Fame is actually ENDURED in exchange for living your dreams. Celebrities will tell you their utopia is to keep the success and lose the fame.

People who require fame to boost their craft eg Actors, Musicians, Politicians usually go through a long period termed “paying your dues” where they develop a thick skin and learn to tolerate all the BS that comes with being popular.

Throwing poor illiterates into the spot light is like throwing a baby in the deep end first to teach it how to swim

I recall the breadseller who TY Bello made famous. Illiteracy & her naivety meant she couldn’t convert the sudden fame to anything substantial & there’s always someone lurking to take advantage of her new status. She later complained about how fame ripped her life apart.

Now it’s the woman with the blue eyes who was called a witch by her husband. Today, I saw a beautiful photoshoot on her. Helping someone would be more beneficial if we helped them progress in things they actually do as opposed to treating fame like a proven remedy to any problem.

The bread seller would have been better off if TY Bello helped her raise money to start her own bakery for example.

These photographers have their hearts in the right place but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Anybody in showbiz will tell you that sustaining fame is harder than getting it. Big brother contestants are a good example

What these photographers fail to realize is that unless they are prepared to stay the course, take these people under their wing, mentor and teach them the business of monetizing their fame for nothing less than 5 years. The fame they give them solves nothing long term.

They’ll be used as poster faces for causes by people with their own agenda and then quickly forgotten. But now because they are popular, they can’t go back to their old life and can’t move forward.

We should help people become the best versions of themselves rather than creating a whole new reality for them. This blue eyed woman, what does she do? If she is a petty trader for example. It might be better to get her a bigger shop and give her capital to upgrade her business.

Perhaps these photographers might want to scour for under appreciated talent and issue those ones fame. They will be better prepared to handle it and ready to tolerate the life upheaval because fame is actually something they desire and need desperately.

Fame is HARD, don’t let the glamour on SM fool you. To sustain it, you REALLY need to WANT it. Now that we know her story, thanks to her photoshoot. Helping her grow at whatever it is she already does will be a longer lasting solution to self sufficiency than instant fame.
