Two nurses have reportedly been arrested by the police for allegedly trafficking a newly born baby girl in Katsina.
Spokesman of the State’s Police Command, Gambo Isah stated that the nurses, with identities, Misira Tijjani and Grace Ejigu were apprehended on July 28 following a tip-off.
They reportedly conspired and sold the child to one 45-year-old Eucharia Onyema of Sabuwar Kasuwa quarters in the state.
Isah said;
“On July 25th 2020 at about 10:00hrs, one Shamsiyya Sani, aged 25 years of Dandagoro quarters, Katsina was delivered of a baby girl at Okomos Clinic, Kofar Kaura, Katsina.
“She later abandoned the child at the hospital with a handwritten note stating that she was born out of wedlock hence the abandonment.
“Nemesis caught up with them when they were arrested on their way from the hospital to their houses with the child through the help of a Keke Napep rider who suspected them of stealing of the child. An investigation is ongoing.”
Two brothers with identities, Uchechukwu Asuzu, 20, and Bright Ugochukwu, 20, have been apprehended by men of the Imo state police command, for allegedly defiling their cousin, Ugochukwu Chigozirim Ehirim, 13, in Ezemanah Ezeamoruo Nkwerre, a community in the state on July 11th of this year.
Spokesperson of the state police command, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, who disclosed this to newsmen, said the victim was raped by her cousins after her grandfather angrily sent her out of their home.
The victim who stays with her grandfather, was sent on an errand by her grandfather. Unfortunately, she returned home late, as a result, the grandfather sent her out of the house. All efforts to gain entrance into the house proved abortive as her grandfather insisted that she will sleep outside, as a result she was stranded. Uchechukwu Asuzu and Bright Asuzu who are cousins to the victim, lured her to their house under the pretext of accommodating her for the night but rather had canal knowledge of her in turns.” Ikeokwu said in his statement
The spokesperson said the brothers would be charged to court soon.
A scorned Nigerian lady took over the Facebook account of a married man and declared his family dead after she found out too late that he is married with kids.
Friends of the married man on the social media platform were shocked after a photo of the man’s family was shared via the man’s account with RIP written on the faces of the man’s wife and his three children.
The individual who posted the photo, declared them dead as they wrote in the caption,
“I don’t know what to say. Words cannot describe what I’m feeling. Rest in Peace my dear wife and kids.”
However, it was later discovered that it wasn’t the man who made the post and that his wife and kids are still alive. The woman posting then took to the comment section to give some revelations.
According to her, she did not hack his account but always had his login details because he voluntarily gave it to her. She revealed that the owner of the Facebook account has been her boyfriend in Minna but he lied to her that he was single and never told her he has a wife and kids.
She went on to reveal that she got pregnant for him twice and he made her abort it. The lady added that she’s on a mission to take down his family and make his life as miserable as he has made hers.
She then proceeded to give intimate details of their sexual life.
Big Brother Naija Housemate, Ozo emerged the Third Head of House after he completed the course in the allotted time they were given to complete the game.
As required for the new head of house, Ozo was asked to pick a deputy and he chose Dorathy.
Dorathy was visibly happy with Ozo’s choice and when she was asked by Biggie if she accepts the nomination, she replied ; I accept with all full chest.
Ozo and his deputy, Dorathy now have immunity for this year’s nomination and all the other housemates are currently up for eviction.
Big Brother Naija Housemate, Ozo emerged the Third Head of House after he completed the course in the allotted time they were given to complete the game.
As required for the new head of house, Ozo was asked to pick a deputy and he chose Dorathy.
However, his on and off love interest, Nengi, must have been expecting to be picked. She wasn’t Ozo’s choice and her reaction when the announcement was made was priceless.
Ozo has emerged the new Head of House, for the third week.. and he has picked, Dorathy as his Deputy.
He picked Nengi as his second deputy, and Erica as his third.
This is coming after he completed the course.
The previous holders of Head of House is Nengi and Lucy. Wathoni and Prince were the deputy.
The new lovers
Besides the obvious difference in the number of Housemates, the biggest change to go on in Biggie’s house was one related to ‘ships. Kiddwaya’s attraction to Erica has been a badly kept secret, but yesterday the pair reached an important milestone. Erica had long been wary of Kiddwaya’s smooth-talking ways and had even confronted him about his flirty nature and lack of discretion. While sharing a blanket on the couch after the Live Show, Erica and Kiddwaya got closer than they have ever been before. Kiddwaya was thickly laying on his usual romantic ramblings and tried to pull Erica’s head in closer for a kiss.
At first, she resisted, but after a few more attempts, Erica allowed their lips to lock and gave us all hope that Vee and Neo won’t be the only ‘ship in the House. Rather than continue making out, Erica soon left Kiddwaya to retire to bed and leave us all wondering if this was a slip up which would never be repeated, or the beginning of our next flaming hot romance. On the opinion front the reactions were mixed with some heralding the launch of this new ‘ship, and others wishing that it will sink immediately.
Eviction ain’t fiction
The last two weeks with our Housemates have been a joy to watch as they bonded and shared so many of their hopes and dreams with us. That facade came tumbling down when Ebuka informed the Housemates that Ka3na and Lilo’s stay had come to an end. The announcement brought a sombre mood over the Housemates who spent a great part of the evening after the Live Show contemplating how truly finite their time in House is. Some Housemates shed tears for their Evicted friends like Dorathy, while more emotionally calculating individuals like Brighto remained too focused on the game to let it affect them. Since the Housemate’s now know that the final decision rests in the hands of the people they came into the House with, it will be interesting to see if that fact changes their interpersonal interactions.
After being boo’d up since arriving in Biggie’s House, it’s hard to believe that Eric and Lilo are now a memory. The question on everyone’s minds is if the handsome hunk will be able to stay single for the duration of his stay. Many promises were made between Lilo and Eric about fidelity but promises don’t mean anything in the heat of the moment. It will be interesting if Eric finds comfort in the arms of any of the other female Housemates.
With two weeks done and eight left to go, all the Housemates have to do is stay focused and play their way to N85 million worth of winnings.
Big Brother Naija Housemate, Ozo has emerged the Third Head of House after he completed the course in the allotted time they were given to complete the game.
Though other housemates where given the opportunity to have a tie with Ozo, but none could meet up.
Ozo has since been given 20 minutes to pick a Deputy.
Laycon was exempted from playing due to his hamstring injury. If chosen by Ozo as a deputy, he’d be safe from eviction, otherwise not.
The previous holders of Head of House is Nengi and Lucy. Wathoni and Prince were the deputy.
A trending whatsapp conversation documents the moment a distraught girl confronted her boyfriend after he slept with his ex a night before her wedding.
The girl found out about his act and she made her feelings known that she was hurt.
The boyfriend tried to justify his actions by saying the sex was meaningless and it was just ”One for the road”. He also said that he dated his ex for four years and they’d missed all the good times they had.
The lady wouldn’t have that and she said ”no man who loves his girlfriend would put himself in such a compromising situation.”
Just some months after a man told fast rising Nigerian music artiste, Omah Lay that he “can never sing with Wizkid”, the “Bad influence” singer broke the jinx as he features on a new song with the globally recognized music sensation.
The story starts when Omah Lay, some months back , took to his Twitter page to share his desire about having a music collaboration with Wizkid.
He wrote at the time… “What about a collabo with @wizkidayo? Amen somebody??
Seeing his tweet, the Nigerian man with the twitter handle @LodDRapper quoted the singer’s tweet and told him that he dreams too much and would never sing with Wizkid.
According to @LodDRapper, “Let me tell you something, your dreams are too big…. You can never sing with Wizkid”
Fast forward to some months later, popular Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Tunez featured Wizkid and Omah Lay on his recent single “Pami” and so, Omah Lay’s dream plunged into reality.
See his reply and Omah Lay’s tweet below,
See DJ Tunez’ tweet when he released the song below…
Nigerian singer, Augustine Miles Kelechi, professionally known as Tekno, recently took to his social media page to share a special prayer for Nigerian leaders.
Tekno prayed that God will make Nigerian leaders who steal to suffer, for not giving back to the people.
His tweet reads ;
“If u a leader in this country stealing from your people and just can’t give back small to the people.. God will make u suffer in ways money can’t fix”
If u a leader in this country stealing from your people and just can’t give back small to the people.. God will make u suffer in ways money can’t fix
Big Brother Naija housemates, Kiddwaya and Erica have been trending on social media since they were caught in a questionable position last night.
While Sunday night saw the crashing of some major ships in the Big Brother house, it also seems to have marked the beginning of another – Kiddwaya and Erica.
While other housemates were fast asleep, Erica and her love interest, Kiddwaya, were entangled under the duvet and the camera angles were kind enough to show their ‘under the sheet movement’ and also Erica’s face as something was definitely going on with the duo.
While we cannot officially confirm there was sexual intercourse, observers and fans from twitter deduced that there was some ‘finger!ng’ going on.
Now, in a new photo, viewers of the show caught the moment Kiddwaya placed his hands on Erica’s bare butt and it further proves that there’s something going on between the pair.
As seen in the photo, the duo share the same couch as they cover themselves with sheets, however, viewers were able to catch a glimpse of what was going on beneath the sheets.
Social media was last week, set abuzz with the reports that operatives of the Asset Management Company of Nigeria, AMCON, has taken possession of media personality, Toke Makinwa‘s house.
The OAP’s management released a statement denying the report and also revealed that her Ikoyi home belongs solely to her. Her management in the statement released, also added that they would be taking legal action on the originators of the false claim.
On Monday August 3rd, she gave an update stating that she has reported the matter to the police and an investigation is being effected.
According to Toke, freedom of speech is great but what comes after is going to be even more interesting, Her tweets read,
“Today I want to let some things off my chest, this is what twitter is for right? I know we live in an age of ignore and keep ignoring, I live my life based on that, if something is not making me money, adding growth to my life or drawing me close to Jesus… I ignore it.
I have a legal team and a management team who are capable and are working to have me focused on other aspects of my life But today as a person, it just feels right to really express myself and I am going to do just that. My mental health is key, my growth as a creative, my life.
I get that we all love a good joke, we love to have a laugh to take the stress off most times and it’s been a heavy year all round but certain things have gone all too long because I have ignored it most times and after a while a perception is born, my legacy is important to me.
I have given 10 years of my life working in the media, I know how important the media is but last week looking at what the media has become made me feel ashamed, has it really come to this? Are we really not bothered about investigative journalism, are we that lazy?
Anyone with a phone can literally type anything under the name of “Anonymous” and the media run with it without verifying, without contacting both parties and even when it comes out as false do we just move on to the next damage? This has to stop.
The energy you put in to spreading false stories should be the same energy you use to clarify and retract same stories but over the years I have become an easy target and this has to stop.
The account that started the vicious rumor on here deleted the tweets but I have reported to the police and an investigation is going on as I type, things are going to get very interesting, perhaps you gather all your coins cos I will buy that house in banana island
Freedom of speech is great but what happens after is going to be amusing too. Have a blessed week everyone and I hear @tmbeautyonline is live”

A man has narrated how his houseboy killed his wife on her birthday and also tried to kill him too. Mr Ralph Wilcox, from Bonny LGA in Rivers State, revealed how tragedy befell his family on June 1, 2020.
His wife, Victoria Wilcox, a mother of two, from Arondizuogu, Imo state, woke on that fateful day to mark her 55th birthday, not knowing it was going to be her last day.
At about 8pm, their houseboy named Abdulkareem Babangida, simply called Abba, a native of Kachia LGA of Kaduna State, clubbed Mrs Victoria Wilcox to death with a newly acquired cutlass.
When she was dead, he dragged her lifeless body and deposited it under a tree in the compound then waited patiently to administer the same treatment to her husband, Ralph.
It was revealed that the deceased retired from the Nigerian Housing Insurance Trust Fund (NHITF) in 2005 and started her private business. Victoria and her husband then hired Abba in July 2019 to assist in Victoria’s shop at the Aco Shopping Complex, Lugbe, Abuja, where she used to sell some household items and sacramentals.
Narrating his experience to Vanguard, the widower, Mr Ralph Wilcox, who miraculously survived Abba’s attack, said in tears: “Abba has blown my life away.”
He voiced his concern about coping with life without his soul mate.
Mr Wilcox, who was a Director in the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture until 11th March 2020 when he retired from service, said,
“It was about 8 pm that fateful day that I drove in to my compound and he (Abba) opened the gate for me and when I entered, I asked, ‘Abba why is it that there is light everywhere and there is no light here?
“He responded saying, ‘there was an explosion in the metre and that the Mummy was aware, so I decided to switch on the generating set’.
“I told him to give me a few minutes to park so as to check the metre where I asked him to wait for me. When I couldn’t see my wife, I asked, where is Mummy? he replied, ‘Mummy is in the house.’
Wilcox said he went into the house but noticed everywhere was dark and the generator Abba claimed he put on wasn’t supplying light to the house.
He told the publication,
“I went in, dropped the birthday gifts I bought for my wife and my Automated Teller Machine, ATM cards and rushed out with my phone.”
At this point, he said he never knew Abba had killed and wrapped his wife in a nylon bag. He said he discovered later that Abba put on the generator to muzzle the sound of his wife’s cries when he was killing her.
Not too sure of what was playing out, Wilcox said he called one Alhaji to come and check out what was wrong with his light but the number did not go. As he faced the metre to find out what the problem was, he heard “the sound of an axe on his head.”
He continued,
“He started hitting me and hitting until I collapsed, I fell on the floor and felt thick blood over my head. By then I was weak and when he thought he had killed me, he went inside the house to look for the key of my newly bought Jeep in the house.”
He said while Abba was busy looking for the car key, he regained consciousness and crawled close to his bedroom and started banging on the window in an attempt to get his wife’s attention.
Unaware that his wife was dead, he said: “Mummy, mummy come out, we are under attack, Abba is attacking us.”
According to him, “It was God Almighty that raised me after I collapsed again and battled to draw attention in the pool of my blood.”
He said that after his wife didn’t answer, he gained little strength and crawled again to the gate to seek help, noting that if Abba had started the car then; he would have run over him, and locked the gate.
He said:
“If he had succeeded, my corpse and that of my wife’s would be here decomposing and nobody would even know, maybe after few days would start smelling before people will realise that we were dead.
“But God foiled his plan, woke me and gave me the strength to manage to open the small gate because he (Abba) forgot to lock the pedestrian gate as he was locking the main gate.
“That was how I escaped to the road, where I met someone coming with a jeep who saw me and reversed to call security men.”
When the security men arrived, he was already unconscious. The person in the jeep went to get help and when he arrived with other sympathisers, they found Abba, who didn’t know that his boss had regained consciousness and had crawled out for help.
Abba pretended he knew nothing and the concerned sympathisers put the injured widower in the car and asked Abba to drive him to National Hospital. All the while, Abba, while serving his master, had pretended he never knew how to drive.
Abba drove his injured boss and some sympathisers to the hospital. On the way, Wilcox regained consciousness multiple times but was still disoriented. He told Abba on their way to the hospital to call mummy’s phone and inform her that he was under attack.
He said: “It was like I was in a trance. I remember vomiting and dying. The last thing I said was ‘branch to police station and tell them…’ until I found myself in the hospital.”
Wilcox continued: “While in the hospital undergoing blood transfusion in preparation for brain surgery, the news went round the estate and people started coming to visit in the hospital and immediately the first set arrived the hospital, Abba had reversed the vehicle to escape. But when the people saw him they blocked him, and started interrogating him.”
When asked what happened, he claimed they were attacked by armed robbers until he was taken home by 2 am, where the lifeless body of the madam was found under a tree. It was then they suspected Abba had killed his madam.
When subjected to further interrogation, Abba admitted that he killed her.
On why he killed her, he initially lied that they were not paying his salaries as and when due. He later said she was bringing Christian sacramentals to her shop for him, a Muslim, to sell, which he said offended him.
When asked again, why he didn’t resign within the 11 months he was working in his madam’s shop, he said he wanted to kill the couple and sell their car, house and other valuables.
Justifying his wife’s sacramental business, Wilcox said she was selling sacramental because she was a strong Catholic and wondered why Abba would kill his wife for living her faith.
When asked about the whereabouts of Abba, he said he is currently with the police, the State CID, and noted that he had written a petition to the Force Headquarters to inform the Police IGP through the Minister of Information and Culture, who signed it and copied the IGP.
According to him, Abba’s father had reported to the police and was made to visit his son in the cell, while they were still waiting for the Alhaji (Agent) that brought him on a contract basis.
On how the boy was hired, he said,
“it was the agent that brought him to us and we signed and paid. But our mistake as people are saying was that we did not go to the police to crosscheck.”
Speaking on Abba’s role in the house, Wilcox said,”Abba stayed with us for 11 months. He was Madam’s shop keeper; he wasn’t coming into the house. We had other boys in the house. That week that he committed this crime, he caused quarrel between him and other boys and because of the way my wife took side with him, the other boys got angry and left because of Abba. We did not know he had a plan.”
Wilcox said he noticed a change in Abba’s behaviour weeks before the attack and he mentioned to his wife that “Abba was changing” but his late wife said she trusted him so Wilcox said he allowed Abba to stay because he didn’t want to offend his wife.
He added that his wife was nice to Abba and gave him new clothes and also a gift of 10,000 Naira last Sallah break to give to his parents. He added that Abba’s quarters was well furnished with an air conditioner on his late wife’s demand.
Wilcox wondered what his wife did wrong for Abba to choose to repay his kindness with evil.
Vanguard reports that during interrogation it was revealed that Abba had concluded plans to use the shovel available in the house to dig a grave under a tree in the compound and bury the couple after he must have killed them. He would then take his time to sell all their properties including houses and if anybody asked about them, he would say they travelled abroad.
Though he has taken the situation in good faith, Wilcox said he is not pleased with the slow pace at which the Nigerian police are handling the case and he pleaded with them to give him justice in order to step up plans to bury his wife.
South Africa’s grocery retailer ShopRite has debunked the report that it’s leaving Africa’s biggest market, Nigeria, 15 years after it opened shop in the West African country.
The Country Director for Chastex Consult, Ini Archibong, told Vanguard ;
“Shoprite is not leaving Nigeria. “We have only just opened to Nigerian investors which we have also been talking to just before now. We are not leaving, who leaves over a $30billion investment and close shop? It doesn’t sound right. “We only gave this opportunity to Nigeria investors to come in and also help drive our expansion plan in Nigeria. So we are not leaving. “I have tried to say this to many people as I can. There should be no panic at all and all of that. There is no truth in that report.”
Suspected kidnappers have killed a staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Mr. Ngor, in Barkin Ladi, Plateau state after collecting N200, 000 ransom from his family members.
According to reports, the suspected kidnappers trailed late Ngor to his home at the Yakubu Gowon Airport staff quarters in Barkin Ladi in Plateau state last Friday, July 31. The suspected kidnappers forced their way into his apartment, shooting sporadically into the air to ward off anyone who might want to come to rescue him.
After they whisked him away to their hideout, the kidnappers made their first contact with members of his family, demanding the sum of Ten Million Naira but after the family members negotiated, they agreed to collect Two Hundred Thousand Naira as ransom. The family members dropped off the money at the agreed point in exchange for his safe return. The relatives then went to the place where the kidnappers said they would drop off Mr. Ngor. Sadly, it was his corpse they met.
His wife who spoke on how the incident happened, said
We were in the house when unknown gunmen came in. They knocked the door and we opened. We decided to run away through the back door but they came after us. As I was trying to drag him, they hit me with their gun and then carried my husband away”
The state police command says it is investigating the matter and would ensure the culprits are arrested and brought to book.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Leo Da Silva has reacted to the ‘romantic movie’ that played out last night between Erica and Kiddwaya.
It’s no longer news that Erica and love interest, Kiddwaya were engrossed in an intense romantic session at a point, it seemed like Kidd was doing some servicing ‘under the duvet’. (Read Here)
The couple have been trending on social media all day and 2018 housemate, Leo, has now downplayed what must have happened last night.
Leo is of the opinion that Erica is a talented actor and as such, might have been rehearsing a role last night.
His post on twitter reads ;
Don’t rule out the fact that Erica might be acting. She’s a fantastic actor. Big brother could be just one big movie production to her.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Praiz, has reacted to BBNaija Erica and Kiddwaya’s under the duvet action last night.
The sexual tension between Erica and Kiddwaya heated up last night after they had their first kiss during a truth or dare game last week. The duo had a steamy session last night and some Nigerians are already blasting them for it.
Singer Praiz has now taken to Twitter to defend them, saying it’s no big deal and the show is not for kids.
“Kiddwaya and Erica had something and so? The show is rated 18. Why exactly are people angry? What’s the reason for the outburst???
There’s no big deal in what anybody has done in the house. Everything na by choice. ??” he tweeted.
Last night, Erica and Kiddwaya were caught ‘doing things’ under the duvet, after last night’ eviction which saw Lilo and Ka3na exit the show. See here
