Man chains wife to a pillar for 10 hours in Ebonyi

Men of the Ebonyi State Police Command have rescued a middle-aged woman, identified as Mrs Ngozi Chukwuani who was chained to a pillar for ten hours by her husband, at their residence in Abakaliki, the state capital.

The abusive husband, identified as Uche, reportedly fled with the key of the padlock.

According to Neighbours who spoke with Tribune Online, Uche hit his daughter’s head with the chain while she was trying to stop him from beating Mrs Chukwuani.

The Special Assistant to Governor David Umahi on security and utility, the capital city, Mr. Nchekwube Saints Anakor, while condemning the husband’s action, said ;

“This evening (Tuesday) at no.1 Ike street, Mr Uche Chukwuani chained his wife to a pillar in their building and ran away with the key. Thanks to Ekeaba police whose timely response saved the situation

I had to send a welder who cut the chain. One question kept on coming to my mind, what did this woman do to warrant being chained like a dog by her own husband. Does whatever transpired warrant such dehumanization?

Cross-dresser and self-acclaimed Nigerian male-barbie, Bobrisky, with real name Idris Okuneye has finally shown off the love of his life, who he popularly refers to as “bae”.

In new posts on his page on Instagram, he shared photos of the boyfriend, known as Henry Ike and revealed that he’d asked for permission before posting the pictures.

He also revealed how he fought so hard for true love before he came along. He wrote,

“The wait is OVER !!! I’m not d type of person that like bringing my relationship here… but sometimes decision change. And I remember asking for ur permission to do dis… you asked me to go ahead.

When his followers questioned the truthfulness of his revelation, the cross-dresser revealed that he is not chasing clout, as he thought deeply about showing off his “bae” before he went ahead to do it.

Man Rapes 20-Year-Old Girl With Down Syndrome In Ogun

The Ogun state police has apprehended a 24-year-old man identified as Godwin Akpan for reportedly raping a 20-year-old girl with Down Syndrome.

The victim was reportedly raped on Tuesday July 28, after her elder sister sent her on an errand close to the gate of their house in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

Ogun state police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident said the suspect was arrested following a complaint by the victim’s sister at the Sango Divisional Headquarters.

Oyeyemi Said;

“The suspect, who is their close neighbour, forcefully dragged the victim to a room, where he had sex with her against her will.

“Upon the report, the DPO, Sango Ota, CSP Godwin Idehai, quickly detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.

“On interrogation, he confessed to the crime but claimed not to know what came over him that made him to do it.

“The victim has been taken to the general hospital for treatment.”

Newlywed soldier reportedly murdered by fellow military colleague in Borno

A lady identified as Mairam Ashemi has taken to Twitter to mourn the death of a Nigerian soldier who was allegedly murdered by colleague at the war front.

According to Mairam, the late soldier who was a promising officer prior to his death was gruesomely murdered by colleague exactly one year after he tied the knot with fiancee.

Mairam’s tweet reads ;

“Innalillahi wa Inna illahil rajiun, today our brother was gruesomely murdered in Bama, Borno State, got married exactly this time last year,was a young and promising officer.

Lt B.S Ngorgi was said to have been murdered by his colleague at the front war this afternoon,his elder brother Major Ngorgi also died in active service of recent.May the perpetrator of this henious act never find peace.”

The attacker, according to a source, was heard shouting after the incident that, “I have achieved my aim.”

It is not yet clear why the soldier killed Lt Ngorgi, who is his senior in the army and on the battle field.

Mentally unstable woman struggles as people try to take her and her child off the streets (Photos)

A mentally unstable lady and her 6-year-old child who usually roam the streets at Amaoka Junction, Nnewi, were taken off the streets on Wednesday, July 29, but the woman didn’t give in without putting up a fight.

The Anambra State’s Ministry of Women and Children Affairs rescued the mother and her son following series of posts made by concerned citizens on social media, pleading for the government to intervene on behalf of the woman and her two children who roam aimlessly along Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

When the social welfare department of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs arrived, they found the woman with one child and she put up a struggle when they tried to take her.

She was eventually taken, along with her son and they were given a haircut and cleaned up. When the mentally unstable woman was questioned, she said she is a native of Ichi Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA.

The Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue said she ordered for immediate transfer of the mother and child to a government-owned facility where they will be cared for until they are certified okay to be reunited with their family and integrated back into the society.

According to Tchidi, she told him stories of his formative yearsand he felt like his late mother came back to life.

Alleged Nigerian fraudster, Olalekan Ponle a.k.a Mr Woodberry has pleaded not guilty to the fraud charges leveled against him after being arraigned in a United States District Court in Illinois.

Appearing before the court on Saturday July 25, Woodberry acknowledged the receipt of the indictment and entered a plea of not guilty to each count.

Documents obtained by Premium Times read;

“Defendant appears in response to his arrest on 7/2/20. Attorney, Michael Nash, appears on behalf of the defendant. Defendant informed of the charges against him as well as of the possible sentence fine if convicted of those charges.

“Arraignment proceedings held, Defendant acknowledges receipt of the Indictment, waives formal reading, and enters a plea of not guilty to each count in which he is named.”

The status hearing to know if the case is set for trial has been slated for August 8, and it was further learnt that Mr Ponlewill remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service.

Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has finally reacted to the rumor that made rounds earlier this week of her Ikoyi mansion being seized by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

The report made the rounds on Nigerian Twitter on Monday as some Nigerians claimed that her ”Banana Island property” had been taken over by AMCON.

I kidnap people to raise money for charity – 52-year-old pastor arrested by the police says

A 52-year old pastor, Adetokunbo Adenokpo, has been arrested for allegedly abducting a dispatch rider and detaining him in an underground facility in his church in Sagamu, Lagos.

Parading the suspect before newsmen today July 29, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, DCP Frank Mba, said the pastor who is the General Overseer of the Newlife Church of God in Sagamu, Ogun state, during interrogation, said he ventured into kidnapping so he could raise money for his charity works.

Nemesis caught up with him after he and members of his gang abducted a dispatch rider, Job Ekpe Jonathan, who had come to his church to deliver some products.

Mba said the victim had arrived at the suspect’s church to deliver some products and was held hostage by the pastor and his gang members. The pastor injected Jonathan with anesthesia to weaken him so they could tie him up easily.

Speaking to newsmen, Adenokpo said

“In my church we do charity, where I share food and palliative to people and this became stronger during the COVID-19. I felt pity for people and I don’t have any money in my account and people still come to me for help.

A few weeks ago we were short of funds. So I had the idea of doing something for Ileya so I can get some bags of rice and beans and palm oil and other things to share, and probably with a ram, which we can cut and give to poor people and we thought we should get money from the rich companies and then raise money and use it to take care of poor people.

The three of us were involved in the kidnap of Jonathan with the hope of raising funds for the Ileya. I injected him because he was struggling I did not want him to be injured”.

Big Brother Naija 2019 star, Khafi Kareem has buried her younger brother, Alexander Kareem.

The former reality star’s brother, Alexander passed away in June, following a shooting near his family home in Shepherd’s Bush, West London.

Khafi took to her Twitter account earlier today, July 29th to share a photo of herself by his grave side, indicating that he’s been buried. She wrote a short eulogy.

“I love you now and forever Alex. Rest well. ❤️” she said.

Reports had made the rounds that 20-year-old Alexander was shot dead while walking home from a convenience store in the early hours. Passers-by tried to give him CPR before paramedics reached the scene – but Alexander was pronounced dead shortly after.

I Was Labeled My Family’s ‘Black Sheep’ For Doing Music – Fireboy Opens Up

Nigerian singer, Fireboy, has narrated how he was once treated as the black sheep of his family for opting for music as a career.

The gifted singer brought this revelation to light while featuring on the season finale of ‘Behind The Story’, a show by MTV Base.

Fireboy, who recently dropped a new single titled ‘Eli’ and featured in Reminisce’s ‘Ogaranya’, explained that things took a dramatic turn between him and his parents when he told them he was ditching his seeming promising scholarly future for music.

He added that his parents, particularly his mother, were not in support of his career choice because he chose a secular music genre.

The ‘Vibration’ crooner recalled his mother being a Christian, and “forcing” songs by Tope Alabi and Yinka Ayefele, two Yoruba gospel singers, down his throat while growing up.

“My mother was forcing Yinka Ayefele, Tope Alabi songs down my throat. I was not the black sheep in the family until l told my parents l was going for music,” he said.

“My parents weren’t supportive at first because it was a switch. It was a very big switch from a promising child that seemed destined to be a professor to someone who suddenly woke up to wanting to be a musician.

“It took sometimes for them to get used to that. Their reaction was because l gave them hope that l was going to be a scholar and then the sudden switch.”

The music star added that after completing his studies at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, he came to Lagos to pursue his music career and then worked his way to stardom through hard work.

Fireboy said he managed to convince his parents about his career choice through his success, adding that they are now his biggest fans.

“I convinced them in the long run by becoming successful. My mum is my biggest fan now,” he added.

Since he joined YBNL, a record label owned by Olamide, a rapper, in 2018, the singer has continued to pull the strings in the Nigerian music industry.

He won the ‘Most Promising Act of the Year’ category at the 2019 City People Music Awards and also snagged nominations at the 13th Headies as well as at the 2019 African Music Awards (AFRIMA).

Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji is known to rarely reply trolls on social media, but the actress took to dragging actor, Deyemi Okanlawon (Deyemi the Creator) for mocking the WSW Challenge.

The #WomenSupportingWomen challenge started some days back with women sharing black and white images of themselves in solidarity with women’s struggles around the world, and to also appreciate each other.

Nnaji participated in the challenge and also tagged her colleagues to share their photos, too.

18-year-old boy arrested for allegedly raping his two-year-old neighbour in Adamawa

A teenage boy, 18, has according to reports, been arrested by men of the Adamawa state police command for allegedly raping a two-year-old girl in Jimeta, Yola, Anambra state’s capital, on Tuesday, July 28.

The state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident to newsmen where he revealed that the suspect whose shop is next to that of the victim’s mother, took the victim to one Bekaji Primary School, Jimeta, on the pretext of being a good neighbor and (allegedly) raped her.

According to Nguroje, the mother of the victim noticed the swollen private part of her baby and immediately reported the matter to the police who then apprehended the suspect.

The spokesperson said the victim is currently receiving treatment in a hospital while the suspect is in police custody and will be charged to court once the investigation has been concluded.

A quite explicit video broke the internet in November of 2019 which showed two Babcock students engaging in intercourse in what seemed to be their school clinic.

The video became viral on the internet as people had a lot to say on the story — the featured lady received serious backlash over the act, up to the extent that Babcock Vice Chancellor, Prof Tayo Ademola after being silent for days, ordered for her immediate expulsion from the university.

The lady was a 300 level student of Accounting at the time the viral clip was released but the school’s management stated that she had been expelled since the video leaked in April of 2019.

Ever since she was expelled, there’s been little to no news on her whereabouts or update on her welfare. But in a new development, it seems some recourse has come her way as a medical doctor, Ola Brown has given update on plans being made to return the young lady’s life back to normal.

Dr Brown had revealed in June of 2020, that she’s been making progress ever since the sex tape incident which ruined her life and led to her being expelled. Dr Brown said,

“I know not many people will care, but there are some people that followed the story of ‘Babcock girl’ “I am so proud of the progress she is making academically/psychologically/ spiritually.

“Hoping she will become one of the worlds best finance guru’s/economists “Every time she calls she has some new insight about the wonderful world of finance/accounting/economics.

“She is smart, passionate & focused. She reads widely and deeply. She understands complex topics easily. “I see her at the IMF/AFDB or some other global finance institution She will NOT be defined by the manner in which her privacy was violated by someone she trusted”

However, giving a more recent update, the doctor said that plans have been concluded for the lady to continue her studies abroad while on a scholarship.

“Just made her scholarship payment. She will be travelling out to study in the next few months. Future head of the IMF/World Bank loading by God’s grace.” the doctor said.

A Nigerian man has shared his opinion about who the ‘sole owner’ of a child is(should be) and it is quite controversial.


According to the man who seemingly advised WOMEN to think deeply before the get a divorce, in Nigeria, a child or children belong solely to the father.

Taking to his Facebook page, he wrote ;

In Nigeria, a child or childen belong solely to the man. It does not matter what led to separation. Think before you leave.

Controversial Nollywood Actress and mother-of-one, Tonto Dikeh, has recounted how she was at the point of taking her own life 9/10 years ago.

According to the actress, she was in so much excruciating pain, one day she said to herself ”Today was a perfect day to die”. She added that God spared her, showed her love and also thanked Teebillz and Don Jazzy for coming to her rescue at that moment.

Tonto made the disclosure while reacting to the sad video of Izu, who committed suicide after he was wrongly accused of sexual harassment (Read Here)

Taken to her instagram page, she wrote ;

This was me 9/10 years ago, I’m here because I believed there was much more to life than my suitation…
I wanted to badly believe God DIDNT hate me, I wanted to badly stop the hurt but it just kept coming so strong.
I knew I was ready, I mean the pain was Excruciating..
Today was a perfect day to die I said, ?‍♀️ SMH
God spared me, God showed me how much love he had for me that day..

There is always light at the end of the tunnel, I can’t over emphasize how much Self love can save you.

Actress, Monalisa Chinda tells celebrities taking part in the WSW Challenge to address killings in South Kaduna

Nollywood actress, Monalisa Chinda has urged her fellow Nigerian celebrities to use the viral trend ‘WSW’ to address a much pressing issue, the South Kaduna killings.

According to her, the same energy should be directed towards the killings in Southern Kaduna adding that they should not forget that women and children are being killed in Southern Kaduna by Fulani herdsmen.
