Recall that a couple of weeks ago, the popular Nollywood actor and comedian adopted Demola and gave him fully funded university scholarship.

Demola has now moved into the actor’s home as they are both seen playing basketball together.

A lady has taken to social media to raise an alarm of a Nigerian man still being kept in prison for 6 years without trial after he was “wrongfully” arrested while charging his laptop at his neighbour’s house.

The lady with the twitter handle, @hausa_girl who identified the Nigerian man as “Junior” said the criminal the police arrested during a raid at the apartment confirmed Junior was innocent, but they refused to release him.

Her tweet reads ;

This guy has been in maximum prison for six years without trial. He went to charge his laptop in his neighbour’s house. That was how he was raided with the guy. Junior is not a criminal.. Six years of his life is wasted and he’s still awaiting trial.

The criminal they arrested told them Junior was innocent but they didn’t release him. Let’s get him out please..

Our voices has to be heard!!! For how long will innocent people suffer from this failed system? Different cases of juvenile in prison for stealing onion or being in jail for raided with criminals.. He has wasted 6years of his life. This country owes Junior his life!

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Diane Russet has said her relationship with Elozonam didn’t work out because he failed to treat her in the manner their colleague, Ike treats Mercy.

According to Diane, Elozonam could be unforgiving. She also made reference to the way Ike always chooses Mercy, unlike what goes on between herself and Elozonam.

She said she envies the way Ike would always choose Mercy no matter the issue they could be facing in their relationship at the time.

In the latest episode of the BBNaija reunion, the secret reason behind the fall out of ex-BBnaija housemates and lovers, Elozonam and Diane.

During the show, Elozonam had claimed Diane didn’t put him first which made him feel like a “forth-tier”. According to him, she always made him feel like an option, not a priority.

Things then became intense and then Elozonam suggested “they talked about” something which Diane bluntly shook off, threatening to “drag” Elozonam if he mentioned.

Ike then decided to contribute something, using “chair” to represent a figure that had a huge role to play in the matter concerning Elozonam and Diane.

Ebuka then shot the arrow that blew the table apart by mentioning actor Mawuli Gavor’s name. Immediately Ebuka said this, Diane angrily got up and walked out, leaving viewers to believe Mawuli Gavor and Diane Russet have a history.

Following the discovery, Nigerians have dug out a throwback video where Diane and Mawuli are seen embracing each other at a party.

A Nigerian model on Twitter has lambasted RnB singer, Beyoncé of using African culture for personal gains without Africa benefitting from it.

The model @Dimssoo on the social networking platform also accused the American singer of being part of the people who contribute to the misrepresentation of Africa through her songs, thereby giving people the impression that “Africa is this place where we wake up in the morning and tie our wrapper and put chalk on our face and scream ‘WAKANDA’ then go and hunt lions.”

Dimssoo said it’s misrepresentations like these that makes African Americans and other people ponder if Africa has WiFi. She also accused Beyonce of taping into the wealth of the African culture for her art but never adding African countries to her tours.

@Dimssoo’s tweets comes after Beyonce released a teaser for her Black is King visual album.

Black is King uses the music of Beyoncé’s 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack, which was released alongside remake of The Lion King. The visual.

A Nigerian lady identified as Sandra Chinenye Obioha has died barely two months after crying out on social media over hardship.

The deceased had taken to Facebook on 4th April, 2020 to lament over hardship caused by COVID-19 lockdown.

Her post read;

“If I die in this lockdown, no need for autopsy. Na yam and red oil and Garri with salt will kill me”.

Sadly, a twitter user has now revealed that the young lady lost her life due to ulcer complications ;

The pair which were once an item and were even dubbed with the “Dialo” nickname, were a source of hope to most young lovers, but the recent turn out of events show that the couple might be at the verge of collapsing and just last night, the underlying reason behind the stormy ship was revealed.

Actor and model, Elozonam had poured out his heart towards Diana and shared how he ‘liked’ her so much and treated her with utmost respect but she never reciprocated the love he had for her as she always treated him as an ‘option’.

He mentioned how a particular actor whom Diane wouldn’t stop talking about, was also part of what affected their relationship. At this point, Diane ordered that she wouldn’t want the actor’s name to be revealed in the conversation, but Ebuka —somewhat unknowingly— went ahead to call out the actor.

The actor is popular Ghanaian Nollywood star and producer, Mawuli Gavor, known for Sugar Rush (Movie) (2019), Joseph (2020) and Devil in the Detail (2014).

As soon as Gavor’s name was mentioned, Diane walked out of the room.

Diane and Elozonam aired out their feelings towards each other on last night’s episode of the BBNaija 2019 reunion and fans have been talking about it.

Elozonam and Diane also revealed why they think their relationship did not work, despite its energy at the beginning.

The reality stars were quite close in Big Brother house and their sweet relationship in the house led to the coining of the couple title “Dialo” to represent the duo’s relationship.

During the Pepper Dem Reunion show, the show’s host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu after airing a short clip of Diane and Elozonam’s display of affection while in Big Brother house, gave the two a chance to explain where things currently are with the two of them.

Elozonam stated he really cared about Diane and that Diane was the girl he felt connected to when he first came into the house and was feeling a little “socially awkward”.

However he said, she always treated him like an option which made him feel he’s the only person in love. He said she was always talking about someone outside the house, who was later revealed as handsome actor, Mulawi Gavor.

Diane in her response said she made it obvious to Elozonam that she liked him and that he [Elozonam] wouldn’t deny that. She admitted she was also suspicious of Elozonam’s motive in the house at the time because he came in at the 4th or 5th week.

Ebuka then inquired about their relationship after the show. It became immediately evident that the two had not maintained the same close relationship they had in the house after the show.

Four ex-Minneapolis police officers charged in George Floyd’s killing appear in court (Photos)

The four former Minneapolis police officers charged in George Floyd’s killing appeared before a judge on Monday, June 29.

Tou Thao, J. Alexander Kueng, and Thomas Lane, who are accused of aiding and abetting in Floyd’s death, appeared before Judge Peter Cahill on Monday afternoon in a courtroom at the Hennepin County Jail in downtown Minneapolis.

They were accompanied by their defense attorneys.

As for Derek Chauvin, who is charged with 2nd-degree murder and 2nd-degree manslaughter in the case, he appeared via video monitor from the prison where he’s being held.

Prosecutors disclosed that they have gathered about 8,000 pieces of evidence and continue to gather more.

Thao’s attorney, Robert Matthew Paule, provided the following statement on Monday,

“I have not commented publically in any regard… I’ve done so out of respect for Mr. Floyd and his family, I’m going to continue to do that. The judge today issued an order telling the litigants, whom I’m one, that we’re not to comment on the evidence, what we see as the merits to the case, or a person’s guilt or innocence… so I’m not going to do that.”

He later added, “my condolences to Mr. Floyd and his family, the death of a loved one is a very sad thing even under the best of circumstances.”

District Judge Peter A. Cahill warned all parties to stop talking about the case publicly and threatened a gag order or a possible change in venue for the trials if heavy pre-trial publicity continues.

“The court is not going to be happy about hearing about the case in three areas: media, evidence and guilt or innocence,” Cahill said.

He asked Assistant Attorney General Matthew Frank to use his influence to keep public officials silent, warning that if they continued to discuss it publicly, he likely would “have to pull (trials) out of Hennepin County and they need to be aware of that.”

Judge Cahill also stated he’s also awaiting motions on whether the defendants will be tried separately or together in a joint trial.

The next court appearance for the ex-officers was set for September with a tentative trial date set for March 8, 2021.

According to jail records, Chauvin, 44, and Thao, 34, have been in custody since their arrest, while Lane, 37, and Kueng, 26, were released on conditional bond.

The Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the CEO of Nigerian record label, Cash Nation Entertainment, Babatunde Oyerinde Abiodun, popularly referred to as Kashy for his alleged involvement in cybercrime fraud.

The news was released by the official Twitter handle of EFCC who revealed that the arrest was made3 after they have gathered intelligence about his suspicious lifestyle.

EFCC also revealed that the investigation linked his domestic staff, Thomas AliuAkwu, who confessed to having different accounts across Nigerian banks where he receives money for his boss, Babatunde Oyerinde Abiodun.

Kashy’s record label, CashNation Entertainment is home to Nigerian artistes such as Barry Jhay.

“EFCC Arrests CashNation Boss, ‘Kashy’ For Alleged Internet Fraud Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, have arrested one Babatunde Oyerinde Abidoun, a.k.a. Kashy, for his alleged involvement in cybercrimes.

Abiodun, who is the owner of CashNation Ent. Ltd., a music record label, was arrested recently at his residence in Lekki Conservative Estate, Lagos. His arrest followed intelligence gathered overtime about his suspicious lifestyle. 2/

Abiodun, who shuttles between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, UAE, allegedly used the proceeds of his fraudulent activities to fund his lavish lifestyle. 3/

Investigations linked his fraudulent activities to his domestic staff, Thomas Aliu Akwu, who confessed to having different accounts domiciled in UBA, Ecobank, GTB, Zenith Bank and FCMB and also receiving money for his boss through the accounts. 4/

Items recovered from the suspect at the point of arrest include a white 2013 Bentley Continental and Mercedes Benz GLK 350. The suspect will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded. End.”

Woman arrested while on her way to bury an aborted baby in Anambra

The Anambra state police command confirmed the arrest of a 24-year-old lady who was on her way to bury an aborted baby.

The lady identified as one Chidera Nwaoga, apprehended arrested around 21:00 at Ofianta village in Nsugbe on June 20. Anambra Police Spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed stated that the chemist who performed the abortion on her was also arrested.

The statement read,

“It would be recalled that on the 20/6/20 at about 9:pm, following a tip off, Police operatives attached 33 Division in collaboration with Nsugbe Vigilante group arrested one Chidera Nwaoga ‘f’ aged 24 years of Ofianta village Nsugbe but a native of Izzi LGA of Ebonyi State.

“Suspect was arrested with a premature baby girl concealed inside a rubber bucket on her way to bury the child inside the bush before she was apprehended.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman who was heavily pregnant approached a quack and untrained chemist, one Odimegwu Ikunne ‘m’ aged 51 years of Nando village but resides at Akpalagu village, Nsugbe who allegedly administered injection on her and aborted the pregnancy.”

A search executed at the premises of the quack chemist led to the recovery of expired drugs/syringes. The statement added;

“Chidera, who was weak and lost much blood when arrested has now fully recovered due to urgent medical attention she received at multicare hospital 33 since 20th June,2020.

“Consequently, the decomposing baby was buried based on experts advise in order not to constitute health hazard to the public.The Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* has ordered that the case be transferred to the State CID Awka for discreet investigation please.”

FG reopens schools for only graduating students; lifts ban on Interstate travels

The Federal government has in a new development, extended the ease of lockdown beginning from tomorrow Tuesday, June 30 to July 29.

Giving the announcement at the daily briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID19, National Co-ordinator, Dr Sani Aliyu, said the extension of the eased lockdown however comes with some modifications.

Aliyu mentioned that the ban on interstate travel will be lifted as from July 1st — he stated that interstate travel must only be done outside the national curfew hours which is between 10pm and 4am.

He said anyone without a facemask will not be allowed into any motor park and that commercial buses will only be allowed to operate on 50% capacity.

For interstate travels, movement across state borders will be allowed only outside curfew times effective ffrom the firt of July” he said

As regards Education, Aliyu said schools will reopen nationwide only for graduating classes which are Primary Six, JS3, and SS3.

He added that all primary and daycare centers remain closed until further evaluation. Secondary and Tertiary Schools to remain closed.

Aliyu said there will be safe reopening of airports for domestic flights as soon as practicable.

The Aviation industry is allowed to resume domestic operations as soon as practicable in line with existing International and local guidelines on COVID19″ he said

Sani added Gyms, Bars, Event center and night clubs, Cinemas and other recreational centers are to remain closed until further evaluation.

She wrote in a post where one of her followers shared how impressed they are of her lifestyle,

I refuse to be under pressure, no matter what! I live the life I can afford online or offline, all I do; I do for me not for anyone, I can’t struggle to impress pple who don’t know the pain and stress I go through

In a follow up post, she wrote,

I’ll rather be a queen in my kingdom and let the world think I’m a slave, than being a queen in the eyes of people and be a slave to myself, in the end I’m the one wearing the shoe and it should never be uncomfortable. That’s what smart people do!

A Nigerian TV girl and well known YouTuber, Eloho Idono, has in a new post on her Instagram stories, asked people to stop telling people to help their families before doing giveaways.

Although it’s been around for a while, the indulgence of giveaways became quite prominent on Nigerian social media during the emergency lockdown where people were asked to stay indoors so as to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

Celebrities, socialites and even random people did giveaways of different sorts so as to either help people who were in need or gather traffic to their brand, or both.

In course of this, some critic netizens who’d feel an individual shouldn’t be doing giveaways would ask that they use the money to take care of their families instead — it’s people like these that TV girl, Eloho refer to in her recent IG post.

She says these critics should allow those who want to do giveaway, have their way if they want to and not ask them to use the money to take care of their families; people who she classifies as “entitled goats”.

In a rather hilarious post shared by a Facebook user on the social networking platform, a Nigerian lady has lamented over the dullness of her conversations with a “fine boy” who she gave her number to about three months ago.

According to her, she felt that by this time, the guy who requested for her number would have asked her out and they woulda had a relationship going as of this moment.

But the lady, Mercury, who says she wishes for the year to ‘come and go’, has been left with nothing but total disappointment with the guy who apparently loves to tell her how “Good” every time of the day is.

From the screenshots of their chats she shared, the guy consistently sent her “good morning, afternoon and evening” texts even when she didn’t respond to them.

Now she’s taken to her page to lament over the situation as she wonders whether the said guy is a ghost or something. See her post below,

Founder of Living Faith Church AKA Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo last Sunday, disclosed that his church has recorded 114 COVID-19 healings.

The General overseer of the church, gave this revelation during his sermon at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, while faulting the partial reopening of markets and lamented that market places where people no longer observe social distancing or hygiene remain open but the church is being suppressed.

According to Oyedepo,

“Can anybody silence the church? Never! I have never heard of anybody that God healed in the market but people get healed in every church day and night, real tangible healing.”

He continued,

“We have recorded 114 coronavirus healing testimonies. We got 10 this week.
And that is the place that is vulnerable, not the market.”
