Yemi Alade’s record label boss, Taiye Aliyu has shared his thoughts about the ongoing saga between embattled singer, Cynthia Morgan and her former record label’s boss, Jude Okoye.

Taiye Aliyu, while insisting there are always two sides to a story, poured encomium on Jude Okoye for helping to shape the music business in Africa. He also said that Cynthia’s former manager, Joy Tongo, was a good person.

The Effyzie Music CEO however told Cynthia Morgan to own up to her mistakes and grow as no one owes her anything.

In the latest update of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, 313 new cases have been reported as of Sunday evening, May 24th by the National Centre for Disease Control.

In a new update on their Twitter page, the NCDC reports that there’s new cases in Lagos, FCT, Rivers, Edo, Kano, Ogun, Ebonyi, Nasarawa, Delta, Oyo, Plateau, Kaduna, Kwara, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Niger, and Anambra.

Teenager fakes her own death on social media to avoid financial pressure from mother

A 19-year-old teenage girl identified as Margaret Adiya Ikumu, who resides in Lagos, has narrated how she feigned her own death on social media just to escape financial pressure from her mother.

Spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Bala Elkana, stated that the news of her death was subsequently posted on social media which led the family to petition the command.

In a statement released Sunday, May 24th, Bala said the command on May 15, received a petition signed by one Tony Iji on behalf of Margaret’s family that their attention was drawn to a post on Facebook stating that Margaret died a few days ago and was secretly buried by two of her friends, Marvelous Mary and Nneka Buddy at Ajah area.

The family further stated that they were able to establish contact with the said friends who confirmed to them that their daughter had died.

In the course of the investigation, the police discovered that Magaret was actually alive, and simply fake her death because of her mother’s financial demands.

“They told the police that the friends informed them that they were instructed by Margaret not to allow members of her family to know anything about her death and that they were authorized by Margaret to secretly bury her. To make them believe that the girl is dead, they sent WhatsApp chats to a member of the girl’s family with picture of a casket showing that the girl is buried. The known phone number of the girl was permanently switched off. The family also got in touch with a man on phone who claimed to be her boyfriend. He corroborated the claim that she is dead.” the statement read

Margaret who was working as a housemaid in an estate at Ajah, was reported to the police by her employer. According to the police, she is angry with her mother and uncles, over their inability to sponsor her education.

When her employer saw the report of her purported death, they quickly informed the Police and she was brought to Ajah Police Station. In her statement, she confessed to having created the Facebook account and posted her obituary with intent to keep her family away from her. She said her mother was putting financial pressure on her, constantly demanding that she send money to her. The girl is apparently bitter with her mother and uncles, over their inability to sponsor her education after the death of her father. Her sojourn to Lagos is to work, save some money and return to school.

She admitted using her employer’s daughter’s photograph Dr Nimechi Ugorji (without her knowledge) in the fictitious Facebook account she created, as profile picture. After posting the obituary notice on the account, her Uncle downloaded the profile picture and reposted, calling on members of the public who know the person on the photograph to report to the nearest Police Station” the statement read

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said it will take a miracle for the Coronavirus pandemic to disappear.

Adeboye said this while preaching via Dove TV this morning. According to the clergyman, the pandemic would not disappear completely but however, it will soon subside.

“The Coronavirus pandemic would not disappear completely but it would only subside. It is only a miracle that would cause the pandemic to disappear completely. God has told me that his children who worship him in truth would be exempted from calamity associated with the pandemic.

Music executive, Jude Okoye has finally reacted to the allegations leveled against him by his label’s former artist, Cynthia Morgan.

Cynthia had claimed she lost everything including her ‘Stage Name’ to Jude’s Northside Inc Label due to a contract disagreement but the elder Okoye brother has now countered everything she said in her instalive video.

Jude who was speaking with blogger, Tunde Ednut via an Instalive session, revealed that he never prevented her from using her stage-name and the decision to change the name was hers alone, a decision he kicked against.

Jude replied; “She has been free since 2017.”

On the name change and contract issue, Jude said ;

I don’t understand, if she has a contract where it is stated like that, she should bring it so we can see. The one i have here is not different.

You want to do things on your own because you think you can do things on your own, then you failed and you want to put the blame on me.

Two years after you left the label, your social media accounts are still yours, you are still going on shows behind me and you still want to blame me for your failure. If you put the blame on me, would that make you rise again ?

I have never for once told CYNTHIA MORGAN that she cannot use her name. I had no power to take that name, it is physically impossible to do that.

“Did I chase her with a court injunction? No.

What exactly did I do wrong? I shouldn’t have let you go when I left? Your contract hasn’t expired and you left. I let you go.

Before she left, she wanted to change her name to Madrina says it means ‘Godmother. I advised against.

Cynthia Morgan recently narrated her ordeal at the hands of her former label, Northside Inc. She also revealed she lost her stage name, Instagram page, Vevo Account and other proceeds from her past music.

The year was 2016, and it was gearing up to be an interesting year but what fans never expected was a beef between Singer Cynthia Morgan and Davido, two artistes who were dominating the industry at the time.

After winning best reggae/dancehall act at the just concluded Headies, Cynthia Morgan went on snapchat to curse at Davido all because he endoresed Lil Kesh as his favorite atiste on the same Next Rated category Cynthia Morgan was equally nominated for.

She had shared a video, in which she mocked Davido, by mimicking his infamous voice saying: “And the award for the best reggae/dancehall category is Cynthia Morgan.”

“Jude Okoye made me sleep on TV carton while writing songs for Psquare” – Singer, Mr May D reveals

In wake of the displeasing ordeals levied against defunct music group, PSquare and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, former artiste under them, Mr May D has also expressed his displeasure at the treatment he received from them.

In a recent disclosure on his social media, May D revealed that he was made to sleep with drivers and cook in the same room without a bed in it while the twins stayed in one of their mansions and the other wing of the mansion was unoccupied.

Mr. May D made the revelation after another artist signed to square records, Cynthia Morgan had similar issues.

According to May D, when he was with the then functional group, he didn’t have a bank account – he claimed that he was made to share a room and toilet with their cook and driver despite the fact that their other duplex was empty.

May D said,

A young gentleman who had for years, been experiencing some health challenges in the form of cancer, shared details of how he overcame the illness and come out even stronger.

@Tawandaforever on Twitter, revealed that he was plagued with brain cancer and had done three major surgeries, two separate radiotherapy treatments and had to learn how to walk, talk and eat from scratch.

In a tweet on his page, he shares the story to inspire people into believing that anything is possible as he revealed that he was eventually able to beat the cancer, and graduated with a distinction even after missing school for two years

Afro-fusion Nigerian singer, Burna Boy got ensnared in a rather embarrassing drama with his neighbours who called in police authorities to arrest him and his father over noise in the neighbourhood he resides in.

Burna Boy’s neighbours, in a video that’s begun making the rounds online, was compared to Manchester United’s Jude Ighalo who lives quite close. The neighbours said the footballer, despite his affluence, maintains decorum in the neighbourhood and is not as loud as the singer.

They also alleged that the singer is yet to make a complete payment for the land he built his house in, as he is allegedly owing N100m.

A Nigerian lady who works as a Mental Health consultant, has taken to her social media page to pen an emotional piece on the occasion of the birthday of her twin sons, who she conceived as a result of a rape incident.

In an emotional birthday piece, the lady identified simply as Umoh shared adorable photos of her sons who just turned 21 and recounted how she was raped by her employer at the tender age of 15. She also used the opportunity to send words of encouragement to victims of abuse or sexual assault all over the world.

Sharing the amazing photos of her twins, she wrote ;

21 Years Ago, a 15 year old seeking to find her path was brutally raped by her employer, all she had to show was a twin birthed 9 months after.

Hid behind the childhood abuse, layers and layers of Rejection, often criticized, broken, bruised, she refused to be a statistic and became the standard to many more young men and women who would be battered, abused…. TODAY…. the evening and the morning and it’s the 21st Birthday of my sons. Everything has changed since the blood.

Happy Birthday KanKan and Dada.

IF I were allowed a choice of my battles, I would have chosen simpler conflicts but no, this life chose me and I will live it fully.

I have made a lot of mistakes but each time I look at both of you, I knew I did the right thing to keep you even when I didn’t know just how.

To every single teenage mom, to every young person who has been themed a mistake and misfit… here I stand your validation that “No one and nothing has the power to define who you become but you!”

Choose what you will and desire to be.. well.

Peter Okoye of the defunct Psquare music Group has reminded Cynthia Morgan of how she rejected the contract he gave her, after she narrated how she “lost everything” to his elder brother and CEO of Northside Records, Jude Okoye.

Recall, Cynthia Morgan who narrated her ordeal in an Instalive session, said she lost her stage name, Instagram account, royalty and VEVO account due to the contract she signed with Jude Okoye.

Reacting to Cynthia’s disclosure, Peter Okoye revealed that he also decided to cut off the relationship he had with his elder brother and twin brother Paul Okoye 3 years ago, to be free.

He also recalled how Cynthia Morgan rejected the contract he gave her because “they” made him look like the bad egg.

Peter encouraged the dancehall star never to give up and also to understand that God has a purpose for everything.

He tweeted;

My dear C Morgan, The decision i made 3yrs ago was never about the fame,money or power! It was for my FREEDOM!

Joy Tongo, a lady who claimed she was a former manager of embattled singer, Cynthia Morgan, has come out to blast the singer, claiming she’s telling lies and seeking self-pity in order to stage a comeback.

Joy Tonto’s claim is coming hours after the singer narrate her travails at the hands of her record label, revealing how she lost everything due to the battle over her contract.

Joy’s post however, seems to contradict a lot of things Cynthia (who now goes by the stage name, Madrina) said during the instalive session.

Two of Nigeria’s biggest entertainers, David and Burna Boy have been deemed to not being the best of friends as the moment as the actions recorded in the past week saw both parties trading jabs and subtle shots at each other.

The drama began on a fateful day when Davido had taken to his page to announce that he’s up to something and will be letting the cat out of the bag come July… Not long after his post, Afro-fusion singer, Burna Boy took to his own page to drop a cryptic message that references “July”. In the most recent episode of the rumored beef, Davido took to his page to share a photo of himself and singer, Wizkid dubbing the both of them the greatest of all time in the music scene. Then in what was seen as an indirect reply, Burna Boy also took to his SnapChat to share yet another cryptic message which has people believing that he’s definitely throwing a shade at “Daddy Ifeanyi“.

In the tweet which was sent in the build up to Burna Boy’s award night (which he eventually lost to Angélique Kidjo), Davido seemingly prayed for Burna and wished him nothing but success.
