An outspoken Nigerian pastor, Adewale Giwa, has told the President Buhari-led government to open churches in Nigeria to enable pastors heal all covid-19 patients in the country.
In a statement to DAILY POST on Sunday, Giwa said the government should do this to show they are not hiding anything from the people.
He said, “There is a spirit that came with COVID-19 that has blocked the eyes of majority of Nigerians.
“The religious leaders must pay serious attention to this spirit of deception.
“Can’t you see how they are making jest of us on the internet? The devil is at work, and all hands must be on deck to win this battle.
“It shall not be well with the devil and all that brought this staged pandemic to deceive Nigerians.
“They brought to Jesus all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them, according to Matthew 4:24.
“If there is nothing that the government is hiding, let them reopen the churches and bring the victims to the house of God.
“I know the God whom I serve, and I strongly believe that He is able to heal all diseases. I took up this Ministry with pure conscience.
“The most painful thing is that there is a division in Christianity. However, does that stop God from answering our prayers? No.
“I can tell you boldly that the true men of God are few, and only God knows His servants.
“Jesus Christ said in the book of John 10:14 that He knows his sheep and his sheep know him. If you are for God, you will definitely know that you are for God.”

Upon the report, the DPO Adigbe division, CSP Austin Okpadile, detailed his men to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.

A pregnant nurse in New York who contracted COVID-19, delivered her baby girl prematurely and developed a string of medical complications.
The wife and mother of two young children, Sylvia LeRoy after testing positive for the virus, suffered a cardiac arrest at the Mt. Sinai hospital on April 12.
Jessica Jacobs organized a GoFundMe for Sylvia Leroy, a nurse at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York as her insurance covers only 60 days healthcare. The state will also not pay for her care except she proves which patient she was exposed to.
“After successfully coming off a ventilator 7 days prior. Her premature daughter was delivered at 30 weeks and is in the NICU. The arrest lasted 4 minutes and has left her with anoxic brain injury due to lack of oxygen and presently she’s awake but minimally conscious, not able to respond to sounds, touch or commands,” Jacobs added.
Shirley Licin, Sylvia’s sister, told CNN that she was six months pregnant back in March when she started feeling symptoms. The baby girl, Ester, was born at 30 weeks.
While Sylvia remains in recovery, both Jacobs and Licin have shared that her union insurance only covers “30 days of acute rehab.”
“Sylvia will need significant long-term acute cognitive and physical therapy to help give her a fighting chance for her baby Esther and her 3-year-old toddler Jay,” Jacobs wrote.
Sylvia’s family has been fighting early on to get her the best care possible, from transferring her to Mt. Sinai hospital and $600K has been raised by more than 10,000 people who pitched in to help the nurse fighting for her life.
Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has carried out the threat he gave of demolishing Prodest Hotel at Alode in Eleme Local Government Area of the state.
The governor had marked the hotel and one other, Etemeteh Hotel, Onne for demolition for allegedly flouting his government’s directive on the closure of hotels in the state.
A lot of residents of the state however, felt it was only a threat to make other hoteliers put themselves in order, but were certainly taken aback when a demolition truck arrived at the location of Prodest Hotel at about 11:30am Sunday morning.
As seen in photos that are currently trending on social media, the demolition men were accompanied by the Governor himself and other officials of the Rivers State task force, and the building was eventually brought down.
The Rivers State Governor had declared a total lockdown in two major cities in the state —Obio-Akpor and Port Harcourt City Local Government Areas— in his effort to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Rivers state. Interstate borders, markets, pubs, restaurants and hotels were also closed by the governor.
The demolition of the hotel has caused a stir on social media too as some people feel that the governor’s action was too extreme, stating that he could have fined the hotel. Some others are not necessarily bothered with the governor’s action.
Some reactions below,
Democracy in action in Rivers as Supreme Emperor Nyesom Wike arbitrarily 'demolishes building' because of coronavirus. pic.twitter.com/abKtkmMVaw
The decision to demolish hotels in Rivers state over violation of the COVID-19 lockdown order is extreme and illegal. Gov Wike, this isn't leadership. ? pic.twitter.com/Cl8Y93zejK
The demolition of the hotel was unnecessary. Temporary closure would have been enough. Wike is over doing it. Those their property was demolished should seek legal redress.
— Comrade Deji Adeyanju (@adeyanjudeji) May 10, 2020
I hope the energy Governor Wike is using to enforce the lock down, he is also using it to increase testing and isolation centre capacity in Rivers state. Fighting this virus is not about being performative but being readily effective.
— mr_robmichael pitied you and (@mr_robmichael) May 10, 2020
Wike was showing necessary action and ensuring security agencies do their job well. He was conmended for that by many & rightly so. But going on to demolish an hotel is definitely way out of order. That sort of action is really condemnable. A fine should have been appropriate.
But he told them beforehand " that he will demolish any hotel that opens …so why dont they just obey …its just for some weeks …maybe they want to try Wike
Y'all shouldn't say wike is wicked, 'wike is harsh, he would have collected a fine' blah, blah, blah shit. Wike clearly stated that there is total lockdown, he repeated that no hotels or companies should open. pic.twitter.com/sxMEDPaxJy

A rare two-headed snake was discovered in a sanctuary in India and this discovery has baffled wildlife experts.
The rare reptile with two heads was found in the Dhenkikot forest range of Keonjhar wildlife sanctuary in the Indian state of Odisha.
It was discovered by Rakesh Mohalik from the Keonjhar district — The snake was a newborn identified as a wolf snake which is not venomous.
The startling visuals were filmed by Rakesh Mohalik —a wildlife enthusiast and photographer— who researches about various species of wildlife and identified it to be the rarest form found on the face of the earth.
The snake, 14 cm (6/7 inches) long, has two fully formed heads, meaning it has four working eyes and two flickering tongues. Both its heads work independently and becomes a challenge for such creatures to survive in the wild as per Rakesh.
“One among the two heads is slightly more developed and both are known to fight over food,” Rakesh added.
Two-headed animals are considered in many cultures to be a portent of disaster and they have frequently appeared in mythology. But although they are rare, they exist in around one in 100,000 live births in the wild.

Lagos State Government, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday threatened to lockdown Lagos again if Lagosians continue to violate the social distancing order, PM News reports.
The governor expressed displeasure that some Lagosians, especially those in the transportation sector did not obey the social distancing order in totality.
The governor, while giving update on the Coronavirus situation in the state, said on the first day of this new phase of an eased lockdown, the compliance level for commercial transport sector operations was regrettably very low.
“Yellow Buses especially, failed to comply with the capacity restrictions outlined in our framework. While compliance has improved in subsequent days, it is still not encouraging. Many commercial motorcycle operators openly and indiscriminately defied the suspension.
“The ban on Inter-state travel except for essential goods and services was also consistently flouted. In many cases people decided to make the final leg of the journey into the State on foot, to beat the restrictions.
“Trucks and other vehicles carrying items designated as essential, have also played major roles in flouting the guidelines, by conspiring to conceal and smuggle people in and out of the State,” he said.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the reports about mask usage in public places had also not been encouraging as many people were still choosing to go out without masks or face coverings of any kind, saying this was simply unacceptable.
“Let me reiterate that the success of this gradual easing of the lockdown is dependent upon the compliance of each and every one of us.
“As a Government, elected to uphold the security of Lagos State – and this includes health security – let me make it clear that we will not hesitate to review the terms of this easing if we continue to see evidence that Lagosians are determined to flout the rules.
“I am aware that the Presidential Task Force has also made this point; that the continued maintenance of this easing is only guaranteed when people consistently comply.
“Let the numbers we have seen this week stand as a warning to all of you the good people of Lagos State. What we are seeing is child’s play compared to what we could be seeing if we continue to be irresponsible,” he warned.
However, Sanwo-Olu, said five days into this gradual easing, “we can look back and pronounce a verdict on the general levels of compliance in major sectors of our economy.
“Let me start with the encouraging news. We have seen our manufacturing and construction companies gradually ease back into operation. We are happy with the level of compliance in this sector, as well as the beneficial impact of this limited resumption on our economy.
“In the case of our intra-state commuting, and particularly with our BRT and LBSL Buses, and water transport operations, substantial compliance with the carriage policy of no more than 60 percent of maximum capacity was recorded. Markets and Mechanic Villages also demonstrated significant compliance.
“In terms of open markets and stores, our directive was that food and farm produce markets will open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while markets dealing in other items will open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We have seen high levels of compliance in this regard, as well as in the maintenance of physical distancing and the use of face masks in the markets,” he said.

A Nigerian woman, Mercedes Ekwutosim Okwukogu has disclosed why she divorced her lying husband despite the fact that she paid her own bride price.
According to her, she got into a relationship with the said man 2 months after she met and chatted him on the popular social media network, Facebook.
She said her jobless boyfriend, Henry (now her ex-husband) had made her believe he lost his job because some persons in his workplace who didn’t like him set him up with the company, Within Nigeria reports.
Lady Mercedes noted that her now estranged husband began talking marriage with her 9 months into their relationship which he placed a caveat that he would only marry her when he’s financially buoyant enough to do so.
The almost 34-year-old lady then assured him that they both got each other’s back and would join hands with him to ensure their marriage held.
Writing further, she revealed that she had to give him N500k to enable him foot bills that came with the marriage list her people gave him, but to her greatest surprise, he brought incomplete items and when she confronted him, he refused telling her what happened to the money.
To save herself the shame, she gave her younger brother money to make sure the items were complete.
Mercedes also noted that before their white wedding which was slated for a latter day after they had their traditional marriage, they needed to move into a bigger house which she paid for.
Mercedes began smelling a rat when he cooked up a story of someone threatening to arrest him on their wedding day if he doesn’t clear his debt which she gave him money to pay the man he’s owing himself so it doesn’t appear to outsiders like she’s the bread winner.
But according to her, her now ex-husband never paid up that debt and she had to pay to save herself the embarrassment.
She recounted how her ex-husband lied about virtually everything including his actual age, but she said she tolerated everything until it got to a stage she could no longer bear the lies.
“He made me sell all my Gold and also took loan to set up an eatery for him because he was a great cook” she complained further.
However, she had to file for a divorce when she noticed he was deliberately denying her sex saying he cannot get erect because he’s thinking of lots of manly problems.
A lady has taken to her social media page to celebrate the birth of her child and it is a very unique testimony.
The lady identified as Peace Okeke-Amadi revealed that she got pregnancy sometime in December, 2017 but in the course of the months that followed, she had some serious complications with bleeding that continued and seemingly prevented her from being delivered of her child.
However she finally gave birth last April and she has now shared her story on Facebook.
Read her post below ;
On the 20th December , 2017 , I took in, went for urine and blood PT and the result came out positive ?? .. I was so happy because I had waited for this to happen for more than 5yrs after my first child…
Three months into my first trimester I suddenly started bleeding,I was so scared, the doctor tried to stop the bleeding but it persisted and came out in big clots.. I went for scan and they said the baby was gone,I broke down in tears,I was so down that the only place I thought of going to at that moment was the church . I got to church and went straight to the alter and cried bitterly.
In my sad mood I went to my pastors office and he said to me wipe your tears, Celebrate for your baby is doing just fine,he asked me to have faith in God and said something that struck me ..He said that BABIES ARE NOT CREATED BY BLOOD BUT BY GOD . Immediately , i wiped my tears and went home rejoicing.
And from that day I made up my mind that no matter what the doctors say, God’s report will be my final Judgement. My stomach started growing, i felt my baby kick every day but the bleeding continued every month . After nine month ,my baby refuse to come out.. Then the pressure started ,from now every test showed there was no baby..
Fast forward into 1yrs and 7mnths of the pregnancy baby was not coming forth, people began to talk.
Some said their was no baby in my womb. Some said it’s a scam, others said I was just mocking God .
I heard some say it is my sin that kept me in that condition.
I cried day and night unto God to deliver me. sometimes I will even want to avoid places like Church to reduce Tongues from wagging but I always found strength in serving God . I never stopped Serving God Never!!!!!!!…..
The shame of people asking me : You never still born???
This Journey of life and Faith in God thought me a great lesson . I saw people for who they truly are, friends turning their backs on me but my family stood by me through it all, God bless them for me.??
Let me fast foward to April 28 ,2020 , My testimony landed,my bundle of Joy, My reward for believing in God’s word came forth. My Peace was restored,My Crown of Glory came to this world.
2yrs and 4mnths I carried her in my womb against all medical report, series of scan saying it’s a huge mass of Fibroid in fact I heard all manner of things.
