Meet Nasarawa state councillor who married two women on the same day (Photos)

On Saturday, March 28th, memories were made, tears were shed in joy when Ibrahim Oboshi, councillor for Iwogu ward in Keana council area of Nasarawa state got married to the ‘loves’ of his life, Nazira Ozegya and Rabi Akose, on that day.

Oboshi was as ecstatic as a kid with a new toy as he married Ozegya at 10am in Keana, a different location and Akoshe in Obi, a different location at about 12 noon on the same day.

According to sources, both brides have moved in with him after the marriage rites were completed. In photos that have been shared on the internet, Oboshi is seen wearing smiles as he poses beside his new wives.

Ibrahim Oboshi is certainly not the first man to marry two wives on the same day as it’s a usual custom where he comes from, his just happened to make its way to the internet.

Here’s wishing the couple(s) a happy married life in good health.

Nigerian guy left confused after discovering pack of condoms in bag of ‘innocent’ girl he just met

A Nigerian guy has been left in state of confusion after he discovered that a lady he deemed ‘innocent’ might not be as innocent as he thought she was.

The gentleman who later resorted to telling a Twitter influencer —who’d later share it on his platform— his dilemma, explained that he’d just met the quite attractive lady and weeks after conversing, they met at his apartment.

He stated that it was when she excused herself to use the toilet that he decided to do a quick cleanup of his room and in course of that, discovered the bag filled with packets of opened and unused condoms.

He then took a photo of the bag with its contents before she came back, although, they didn’t engage in coitus that particular day, he shares his fears of an heart break after his discovery which is why he seeks the opinion of others.

The Niger State Police Command has reportedly arrested a suspect for the unlawful possession of firearms in Minna.

Commissioner of police in the state, Usman Adamu, who shared this in Minna on Tuesday revealed that following a tip off, a team of the SARS operatives attached to the command arrested one Danjuma Toko, 25, of Zuru town in Kebbi.

“On 22nd March, 2020 at about 0800hrs, acting on a tip-off, a team of SARS operatives attached to the Command intercepted and arrested one Danjuma Toko ‘m’ 25yrs of Zuru Kebbi State, at Kontagora park by Mobil Roundabout Minna, in the process of searching his luggage, six locally made revolver short gun with eighteen cartridges concealed in a bag of Garri were recovered.” the commissioner said.

Adamu said that the suspect confessed that it was given to him by one Paul at Ogoja in Cross River to deliver same to his cousins, Kabiru Kanda and Dauda Kanda of Zuru town in Kebbi.

“During interrogation, he confessed that it was given to him by one Paul at Ogoja Cross River State to deliver same to his cousin brothers one Kabiru Kanda and Daudu Kanda both ‘m’ of Zuru town, Kebbi State. Case will soon be charged to court.” hr added.

The commissioner appealed to residents to volunteer information about suspected criminal elements in their midst.

Nigerian singer, Davido might not be having his best days currently, as his fiance is down with Covid-19 and has been enjoined to redo his “Corona virus” test which he’d earlier revealed came out negative but after Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, who he was seen with about 11 days ago came out positive, the singer has been urged to retake the test.

Though he might not be having his best times, he however hasn’t lost his savage mode and he confirms this after a follower of his decided to troll him on Twitter – an action the follower would later regret after the singer responded.

So following the heated up session Nigerian producers, Sars and Shizzi had about two nights ago that went viral on social media, singing sensation and record label boss, Davido decided to throw a challenge to any record label to engage in a battle akin to that of the producers.

Davido took to the platform to tweet,

During the Sars vs Shizzi battle, a reaction poll suggests that the former schooled the latter when it comes to who has the best hit sounds and worthy to note is that Shizzi produced most of Davido’s songs.

This fact caused a follower to suggest that the singer might be tensed by this and as such, to suppress his tension, he decided to put up the challenge – this follower would later realize she probably should have kept her opinion to herself after the singer responded to her.

Davido showed no form of chivalry in his response and it’s no doubt that some of his female fans will give him some tongue-lashing over it.

Kate Henshaw responds as she’s accused of seizing of tips of waiter in a hotel

In a new Twitter exchange on the microblogging platform, Nigerian actress, Kate Henshaw has been accused of laundering money supposedly belonging to service workers in a hotel in Lagos.

The accusation came after the veteran actress posted a tweet where she questioned the quality of the relief package Lagos state promised to give to vulnerable citizens.

A follower then responded and accused her of doing worse when she was in a position of power. The accusation of the follower included money laundering and the Twitter user threatened to release proof if Henshaw denies it. Quite certain she’s been accused wrongly, Henshaw begged that the follower provide proof.

Renowned Nigerian medical doctor dies after contracting Coronavirus while treating UK COVID-19 patients

A quite renowned Nigerian doctor who works in the United Kingdom has lost his life after contracting Coronavirus while treating victims of the virus.

Dr Alfa Saadu’s death was shared on Facebook by former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The Facebook post shared by Saraki to mourn Dr Saadu reads.

“Inalilahi Wa Ina Ilaehi Rajiun. My condolences go to the family of late Dr Alfa Sa’adu, the people of Pategi and Kwara State on the death of the foremost medical practitioner who passed away in London this morning (March 31).

“Late Dr Sa’adu provided leadership for our people in the diaspora as he served for many years as chairman, Kwara State Association of Nigeria (Kwasang UK). Back at home, he was a community leader and traditional office holder as Galadima of Pategi. He will be sorely missed.

“We pray that Allah forgive his sins and grant him a place in Aljannah Firdaus. May Allah also grant his family, the people of Pategi and Kwara State the fortitude to bear the loss.”

Another Facebook post paying tribute and mourning the doctor reads,

“A very sad day for UK doctors as one of the brightest, kindest and most respected stalwarts of Nigerian doctors in the UK, Dr Alfa Saadu has just died after volunteering to help in the wards and caught the bug. He came off the ventilator this morning.

“It is indeed a sad day for Nigerian doctors in UK. But also for doctors worldwide who sometimes are thrown into the deep end without adequate resources. May his soul RIP.

“We just lost a gem in the Nigerian medical community in the UK to COVID-19.”

His son, Dani Saadu also wrote a tribute to his father. Dani added that Dr Saadu “had been fighting the virus for 2 weeks but he could not fight anymore.”

Scare rises for President Putin as Russian physician he shook hands with a week ago tests positive for Coronavirus (Photos)

There is some scare over President Vladimir Putin’s health after one of Russia’s top Coronavirus doctor was diagnosed with the disease just one week after meeting and shaking hands with the Russian leader.

Denis Protsenko, 44, who is the head of Konnunarka infectious disease hospital, was visited by Putin last week, and the pair were pictured too close and even shook hands twice without protective gear.

A meeting was reportedly held in Protsenko’s office with other top officials including Russian deputy premier, Tatiana Golikova, 54, who is in charge of Russia’s coronavirus policy in attendance.

On Tuesday, Chief doctor of Kommunarka hospital Denis Protsenko revealed via his Facebook page that he has positive for coronavirus.

He wrote,

‘Dear friends, I am very moved by your concern. Yes indeed I have been tested positive for CoV, but I am feeling myself quite all right. I have isolated myself in my office where there is everything for remote work, management and telemedicine consultations. I think that the immunity developed during this month must be doing its job…. Stay tuned.’

The Russian government has been forced to reassure citizens today by saying that President Putin was regularly tested for coronavirus and ‘everything is okay‘.

Former BBNaija housemate, Ifu Ennada, has shared a few words for the federal government concerning the distribution of relief materials.

Since the federal government has directed Nigerians to stay at home in order to contain the spread of COVID-19, people have been calling on the government to provide relief materials as many citizens have no way to survive if they cannot move about.

In the post shared on her Instagram page, Ennada compared the distribution of relief materials to the distribution of electricity bills.

According to the young lady, if electricity bills can reach every house it means relief materials must get to every family.

First Coronavirus patient in Ekiti State discharged after testing negative

The first coronavirus patient in recorded in Ekiti state has been discharged from the isolation centre after testing negative to the virus.

The Governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi made this known on twitter and he revealed that the patient was discharged after testing negative to the virus twice.

The governor wrote;

“Thanks to our resilient health workers, Ekiti state’s #COVID19 patient has now been discharged. With this, Ekiti State has no coronavirus patient at its isolation center. #COVID19Nigeria”

Governor Seyi Makinde contracted Coronavirus from known people in Abuja — Oyo state Chief Press Secretary

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s Chief Press Secretary , Mr Taiwo Adisa, says his boss contracted Coronavirus from ‘known people’ in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The Governor tested positive on Monday for the deadly coronavirus to become the second confirmed case in Oyo State.

Mr. Adisa who spoke on Silverbird Television (STV) on Tuesday morning, said there was no need to use the issue of COVID-19 pandemic in the state as political tool.

Adisa stressed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally on March 18, should not be politicized as at the time of the rally, there was no known incident of the virus in the state and the governor didn’t show any symptom of coronavirus.

He said ;

“The issue of the March 18 PDP southwest Zonal Unification Rally doesn’t come to play because there was no known incident of the virus in Oyo State and the governor didn’t also have any symptom(s) as at that time.”

“The governors went back to Abuja the following day and they held a series of meetings. The governor had contact with people that are known. So, we should not politicise an issue like this”.

Billionaire business magnate, Deji Adeleke has joined the list of wealthy Nigerians helping other nationals during this coronavirus pandemic.

According to journalist Dele Momodu, the singer’s father The billionaire donated one billion naira for relief materials to help Nigerians, dividing the donation into two, one for his state and the other for the federal government.

Adeleke donated N500 million to the federal government and donated foodstuffs worth N500 million to the people of Osun state.

Momodu made this known in a post shared on his official Twitter handle. The journalist and owner of Ovation magazine also prayed that God would continue to replenish the billionaire’s pocket.

Irate men in Onitsha throw away trader’s bowl of Garri because she increased the price (photo)

A group of irate men in Onitsha, Anambra State reportedly went into town today to attack traders who increased prices of food items.

According to reports, a female trader was used as an example for other traders as a big bowl of her garri was thrown away by the said men who were not happy that she hiked the price of her goods with over a 100% increment from N500 to N1500.

A Facebook user identified as Jestymoore Nnokwa who shared the story wrote;

“Today In onitsha, igbo boys went into town to see those wicked and cruel market women selling food items at exorbitant prices, unfortunately for this Garri seller, she was selling Garri of N500 for N1500 and the boys threw everything away on the ground. They were upset with what they saw in the market today in onitsha market.

Instead of traditional coffin, a man in Eastern Cape, South Africa was buried in his car with a safety belt on.

Apparently, two years ago Tshekedi Pitso shocked his family when he told them he wanted to be buried inside his favourite car.

Pitso, who was 72 years old at the time, had bought himself a 1980s E500 Mercedes Benz adding to a fleet of Mercedes Benz that he owned.

Pitso’s niece Sefora (Pitso), 49, said at first the family was shocked at the news, but he always spoke about how he would love his funeral to be.

The village of Jozanashoek in Sterkspruit, Eastern Cape, where Pitso was a chief and also a member of United Democratic Movement (UDM), came to a standstill on Saturday as their chief was buried in Mercedes Benz.

“My uncle made it clear that he wanted to be buried inside his car. He was a lover of Mercedes Benz and as a family we had to grant him his wish,” she said.

Villagers watched in awe as Pitso in his car, was towed to his grave in the family grave yard.

Pitso was dressed in a cream white suit and seated behind the steering wheel with both his hands placed on the steering wheel.

OAP, N6 has reignited his feud with Toke Makinwa by taking a swipe at her following her comments on China and Coronavirus.

Toke Makinwa said a week ago that the world should fine China for the Coronavirus pandemic that originated from Wuhan. She received backlash for her comments and she later reacted to it

Well, N6, who had beef with Toke last year and slammed her by releasing her old photos (read here), reigned the feud by telling Toke that she doesn’t have the range to discuss Coronavirus.

Housewife stabs prostitute to death for having an affair with her husband

The police in Imo State have arrested a housewife, Mrs Ada Amuzie, for allegedly killing a commercial sex worker, identified as Happiness.

The police said Amuzie had accused Happiness of dating her husband, Ejike Lambert. It was gathered that Happiness, in order to get even with Amuzie, went to her house at Imika Obiti, armed with a knife.

However, Happiness was unlucky as Amuzie overpowered and stabbed her with the knife, it was alleged.

The spokesman of the police in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, in a statement said that on 28/3/2020 at about 11:45pm, in Imika Obiti, Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of the state, operatives of the Divisional Police headquarters in Ohaji, acting on a report, arrested one Ada Amuzie, 26, for the murder of one Happiness, a commercial sex worker.

He said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the said Ada Amuzie had accused Happiness of dating her husband (Ejike Lambert).

On that faithful day, she went and engaged Ada Amuzie in a fight in her matrimonial home, she took along a knife, and during the fight, the suspect overpowered her, collected the knife and stabbed her below her breast, thus leading to her death.”

Ikeokwu added that the corpse has been deposited in a morgue, while the suspect was arrested and would be charged to court accordingly.

Following the order given by Head of States, President Muhammadu Buhari on the evening of Sunday, March 29th, the 14 day total lock down was effected in Lagos and Abuja at 11:00pm on Monday March 30.

While Ogun state government postponed the lock down directive till Friday April 3, the police have blocked the inbound and outbound sections of the Lagos-Ibadan express way.

The total lock down order is also being observed in Abuja as some streets have already been deserted. It is expected that with this lock down, health officials will identify, trace and isolate all individuals who have come into contact with confirmed cases within the 14 day total lock down in the two states and the FCT.

The wife of Kaduna State governor, Hadiza Isma El-Rufai, has said that her test result for coronavirus has returned negative.

Taking to her twitter page, she wrote;

“Dear Tweeps, My COVID-ONE-NINE test result is out. I’m NEGATIVE. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. #StayAtHomeStaySafe”.

Recall that her husband announced he tested positive for the novel virus on Saturday March 28th.

Loveth stated that the task force officials also poured kerosene on the food items which were quite expensive given the current situation of the current.

Sharing a video of the contaminated food she bought, the actress wrote

A video making the rounds on social media shows the moment a Nigerian father whose daughter was reportedly receiving poor treatment at a coronavirus isolation centre demanded his daughter be returned home as it was better she died in his house.

In the emotional video, the man can be seen complaining bitterly over the poor condition his daughter is allegedly being subjected to at an isolation center.

The man who introduced himself as Mr Olanutu, told reporters during an interview that his daughter who is diagnosed with the novel Coronavirus, has been left unattended to by the medical staff at one of the isolation centers.

His words ;

”Let the Minister come and see what is happening. If I am telling lies, my name is Mr Olanutu.

What the hell are they doing here? She hasn’t seen a doctor since morning, she hasn’t seen a nurse, she hasn’t been fed and you are telling me that I should not take her out. Let her go and die in my house, simple. I don’t care anymore. For the fact that you have Coronavirus does not mean you should be left around”

Florida pastor arrested

Before his arrest, the evangelical pastor had insisted that he wouldn’t close the doors of his Tampa Bay megachurch until the End Times begin.

He also encouraged those in attendance at his River at Tampa Bay Church to shake hands, to show they were not afraid of contracting the coronavirus.

A video from the church service on Sunday March 29, showed dozens of people packed inside the church and standing shoulder-to-shoulder.

Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne was arrested on Monday March 30 on misdemeanor charges of unlawful assembly and violation of public health rules after defying social distancing orders at The River at Tampa Bay church.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said at a press conference,

“I made a decision to seek an arrest warrant for the pastor of a local church who intentionally and repeatedly chose to disregard the orders set in place by our president, the governor, the CDC and the Hillsborough County Emergency Policy Group. His reckless disregard for human life put hundreds of people in his congregation at risk and thousands of residents who may interact with them this week in danger.”

The church has claimed on its website that the restrictions are a violation of the First Amendment, and in a March 18 post on Facebook, the church said it was providing an “essential service” that made it exempt from the social distancing orders.

Authorities said the sheriff’s office spoke to attorneys for the church to explain they were in violation of government orders, and officers attempted to meet in person with the pastor but he refused.

Howard-Brown turned himself in to a neighboring sheriff’s office and was booked and released within 40 minutes. Florida has more than 5,200 confirmed coronavirus cases and at least 63 deaths, according to the state’s health department.

It should be recalled that before Governor Makinde announced his test result, Davido disclosed that he and his son tested negative for the coronavirus but his fiance, Chioma however tested positive for the virus.

With Davido’s close contact with the Oyo State Governor 5 days ago, Nigerians are now calling on the music star to undergo the test again.
