Kemi in her reaction to the online drama, wrote;
“Tomorrow 12 noon sharp to 3pm. I will be talking about the #socialmediabill on @nigeriainfofmlagos with @collins_teke I SUPPORT THE BILL AS EXCESSES NEED TO BE CURBED.
Take for example this Tacha vs Mercy fans beef on Twitter everyday. My son @richkjtmusic went hard on some of Tacha’s fans. He is quiet, doesn’t bother anyone and spotted someone calling his mom a “mad woman”.
Tacha’s mom is DEAD and I asked my son not to go there because what Ashley said has nothing to do with Tacha’s mom but only being a die-hard Tacha fan. I showed it to our honorable Minister who said it will even be clamped down under the hate speech law.
Remember I always WARN YOU not to mention my family in your hate for me. I don’t know your family. I don’t care if Tacha is “someone’s child too” you don’t know that someone and we didn’t call them “MAD”. This tweet clapback went viral.
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH MY CHILDREN. The tech guru middke child took her page down for 24hrs. My children are not Nigerians. Only @richkjtmusic. Don’t call me a mad woman. All the young men supported my son while the young ladies were half and half saying Ashley DESERVED IT!”.
A Nigerian lady has taken to her instagram page to allege that singer, Flavor is the father of her child.
The 33-year-old lady said they somewhat had a one night stand in 2015 and since then all effort to reach the singer proved futile.
The lady further demanded for a DNA test and if it proves false, she’s ready to pay for the penalties.
Read her post ;
PLEASE READ??? My name is Juliet Oluchi Ehiemere from Abia State. I’m 33 years old.
This post will make you to do either of two things: Judge me and call me names or support me in getting justice for my daughter.
I sincerely hope you do the latter. The picture you see above is the picture of my 3 years and 4 months old daughter, Stephanie Chidinma Chinedu Okoli whom I bore for Chinedu Okoli popularly known as FLAVOUR
I met Flavour sometime in 2015 and took in for him. Ever since, I have made attempts to contact him but he has since then ignored me. I am not another gold digger.
All I want is for Flavour to take care of his daughter. I have reported the matter to the office of the Public Defender (OPD), Lagos State.
FLAVOUR should come out for a DNA TEST. He should do the needful. If the DNA Test shows he’s not the Father, I’m ready to pay for the penalties. For me to take this stand, that should tell everyone that I know what I’m saying.
The pain and suffering is too much to bear and I am done keeping silent. My daughter and I can’t keep suffering this way.
The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in Nigeria. The event normally spans through a week and it includes award shows and film training classes.
For this year’s Edition, Africa’s most preferred smartphone brand was intrinsically involved; TECNO was there throughout the festival, from the opening ceremony, to the masterclass and the closing award night.
This year, the festival was aimed at celebrating Sheroes. Waad Al-Kateab and Edward Watts’ documentary on a woman’s experience during war, ‘For Sama’, was chosen to open the ceremony.
Over 2,000 movies were submitted for AFRIFF, but only 150 movies were chosen for screening in the days that followed the Opening Ceremony. TECNO invited its fans to see these movies.
Simultaneously, there were different classes on film making at the AFRIFF Campus situated at the Landmark Village.
Sponsored by TECNO, the Mobile Cinematography Masterclass was taught by cinematographer and student, Nora Awolowo.
She explained in details how much of a tool a mobile phone can be in shooting a film. Then she went into how a mobile phone can be used to shoot a film. All through the class, she used the TECNO Camon 12 Air to demonstrate her points.
Kiki Mordi (producer of the popular Sex for Grades documentary) also came in and talked about the elements of storytelling, letting the students know that everyone has a story to tell. She also emphasised on the fact that every story has an audience.
Industry veteran, Victor Okhai (a producer, scriptwriter, director, cinematography and logistics provider) also pitched in, telling the students that some captivating stories happen out of the blues.
A smartphone camera will be the best tool to use in capturing such stories. He also iterated that beginners will be able to start their career by telling excellent stories using a smartphone.
In line with this, TECNO will be telling more compelling stories in the future in collaboration with fresh student film makers using the magnificent cameras that come with TECNO smartphones.
The students did not just learn the theory of mobile cinematography, but they also had practical classes on how to make films using their phones. At the end of the class on Friday, one of them went home with a TECNO Camon 12 Air.
Then came the closing ceremony, the event opened with a dance routine depicting the richness of the African culture, directed by Bolanle Austen Peters.
After a few more captivating and interesting proceedings, it was time for the category of the award sponsored by TECNO to be announced; The Best Student Short Film Category.
The Deputy Business Director of TECNO West Africa, Chidi Okonkwo, came up to announce that Edem Dotse won with her short film ‘Linger’. A hearty congratulations to you Edem Doste.
The 2019 edition of AFRIFF was a huge success, and its success story can never be told without mentioning the impact that TECNO brought in spades.

Nigerian Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has disclosed he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014.
In an interview with BBC, Soyinka said he’s been using an advanced technology ‘proton therapy’ to treat it.
He however admitted that he is uncomfortable with the treatment though its been quite an easy ride.
His words ;
“It hadn’t yet gotten to the stage where it was non-reversible and so (the doctor) gave us a number of guidelines. I say us because he wanted to make sure that my wife made sure that I followed it. He sensed that I wasn’t going to be a very good patient. So he spoke to her most of the time rather than me,” he said.
”There is no disease in the world any human being needs to be ashamed. I don’t see why people need to go to Canada, Europe to receive treatment which is affordable in this nation, it is a shame.
”The options I compared to other treatment I know about and I have seen in operation. Mine for me was an easy ride, uncomfortable in many ways but it is painless.”

Chijioke Ifeasinachi, a Nigerian student, has told of how she jumped out of a moving vehicle to escape from kidnappers in Ikorodu, Lagos.
On that fateful day, November 16, Ifeasinachi left Church at Agric Bus Stop on Ikorodu Road around 12:30pm and was going home when the incident happened.
“I entered a cab at Agric Junction to Garage junction. Three men – two in the front and one at back in the cab. The driver asked if I had N50 change and I said ‘Yes’. I brought out my phone Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and earpiece and was listening to music,” she narrated.
“On getting to Jumo Park Bus Stop, the driver stopped the car, I thought one of the passengers wanted to alight, but the next thing I heard was the driver said he would not drop the guy that sat beside me, that he saw dollars inside the guy’s bag. The driver said the guy must explain how he got the money else he will take him to the Police station.
“The guy begged him. The driver later said he must give him 10,000 dollars from the money. The guy asked me to plead on his behalf. I asked the driver what he wants the man to do? I said all I wanted was for him to drop me at the Garage where I was heading to before changing the route to police station. After we passed Aruna bus stop, the driver made a turning by the right instead of going straight, I was feeling uncomfortable with the whole conversation. I asked why they were not passing the normal route but they said that was the route they wanted to pass. Not long after, I told them to stop the car and called my dad. I spoke with him in Igbo that it seemed I had entered kidnappers’ car. All the men were Yoruba but it seemed the driver understood what I said, he told me they were not kidnappers, then he made another turning. At this point I started shouting and putting my head and hand out of the window of the car shouting ‘thief,’ ‘kidnappers,’ help me!. The guy beside me then gave his colleague a gun. Immediately I saw the gun, I opened the door and jumped out. I fell on the ground, had injuries on my elbow, aches on my head and back. I noticed a man was driving behind us; he was the one who effected the arrest of the kidnappers, he came back to meet me where I fell, my father and my brother also came, we all went to the police station and I was later taken to the Hospital,” she said.
Ekechukwu also thanked the human right that attended to the case and took it up.
The Human Right of TeensPlight Foundation for Health and Development, Titilola Oladejo-Davids said Ifeasinachi, came to their office to report the incident and she took it up.
“There was a case of Kidnap at the St. Augustine Catholic Church, Okeria Bus Stop near Agric Junction, Ikorodu on November 16 which the survival reported to my office. The girl was about to be shot when she was not cooperating with the kidnappers but she bravely kicked the door and risk jumping out of the fast-moving vehicle, which resulted in bruised hands and serious pain. She jumped out of the car and nearly escaped being hit by the coming vehicle, the other driver noticed the girl must be in danger for her to jump out of the vehicle in front of him, he bravely followed the kidnappers till he pinned them down at Solomade, and called the police to arrest the kidnapers before going back to the scene of the crime and carried the girl, who had already fainted, revived her and took her to the police station in order for them to see the proof. After which he left the scene, and refused to drop his phone number because he told someone that he could not trust that police would not turn the case against him.
“The police were initially playing around the case, they told the father of the girl that he must have big money to be able to pursue the case and that he must bring a lawyer before they can transfer the case to the Court. I observed the police were kind of intimidating the father and the girl. They made things difficult before they could charge the case; they were trying to bury the case and intimidate me as well but, I refused to be intimidated because justice must prevail. They also charged the case from kidnapping to Fraud.”
She said all her efforts were not just for the girl but for the man and to ensure the kidnappers face the wrath of the law.
“We were the ones who provided the vehicle to convey the kidnappers from police to court and to prison. At the prison, they said I must pay N3,000 before they can collect the suspects or else they will reject them.”
A Nigerian lady took to Instagram to narrate how a neighbour raped her when she was 8, a sad act her mother never believed.
@PrettyMaa_ said she grew up in Warri, Delta State and also revealed that their neighbour who raped her was always buying her biscuits and gifts.
She further revealed that she healed on her own as her mother assumed she was lying. The Nigerian lady added that the rape act left her with trust issues even in her present day life. She also narrated other incidents which made her ‘growing up days not fun’.
She wrote;
“You see that picture i was approaching 8 and guess what i already knew what sex was. I grew up in warri ,back of old airporr behind winners chapel church.. one of all those computers with 30 tenants ,one toilet and bathroom, the building was standing because of God. I waz chubby liked by everyone in the compound. They usually call me nyenye that’s like the nickname of my native name “nyenrhovwo”.
“We had this neighbor next to ours,an elderly woman with 8 boys, she fries groundnut so after school i walk to her backyard to help her fry and eat small. One of her sons “samy” was my fav, always buying me biscuits and gifts. If my mum is not around he stays with me and all. Till this very day ,i got back from school as usual went to mama’s house to fry groundnut but no one was homd except samy well as uncle things i stayed. That was how he carried me on his bed and started touching me. He closed my mouth so i wont scream loud.
“That was how my favorite uncle raped me after he was done he cleaned me up thoroughly and took me home. After some weeks i tried telling my mum ,do you know my mum assumed i was lying? Because she felt it couldn’t be true. That was when my life started. I had to heal up bruises on my own and the thoughts on my own.
“I started developing trust issues, till date my trust issue is bad my previous relationships always end up because i cant seem to trust a man. We eventually left there to another place that was when i went A wire. I became stubborn ehn as in stubborn. I felt i could do things on my own, i joined the wrong friends. My parents felt then i was possessed or something because i lost control. They did all they could but i was far gone so they left me to my fate. At age 13,14 i leave my parents house without them knowing about my whereabout for weeks, months to stay in my friends houses.
“Good thing i was still going to school. You see bad friends forget it.. They were wayward so they didnt advice me to have sense so i was foolish like them so when i was around 14 going 15. My mum had a liquor shop in warri then so she had this particular ijaw man coming to buy things. Well i knew him very well.
“So on that day after school ,i just got out of the school gate and he drove pass and he stopped and offered to take me home which i innocently entered i just thought after all he’s my mum’s customer let me save my tp fare. That was how he got to one house and said he wanted to quickly drop some things in that house and that i should assist him carry some load. I joined him and we carried the things into the house, lo and behold this man locked the door and asked me to strip.
“For a min i was dumbfounded till a blow hit me ,he was like if i dont do as he says he was going to kill me. He was serious because he brought out a knife. I tried to struggle with him in the process he stabbed me pretty close to ny chest,on my left breast that’s y i hv a scar there looking like a tattoo but i tell people it was an operation to avoid long stories. He succeeded, cleaned me up and dropped me half way on the road.
“I got home no one was home i quickly cleaned up so my parents wont notice a thing because i had no intentions of telling them after all the first one happened they didnt believe its now this one? I just decided to keep it to myself. Weeks after my body changes, mumsu noticed i was having awful discharge immediately she took me to the hospital and result came i had a terrible infection. Doctors had to do a vaginal operation. My life then was in a mess but i always wore a smile. Back to back injections, treatment my hands and butt saw shege that period. I finally opened up to my parents ,but by then the man had packed out.
“These experiences created a mental and emotional damage to me. I started life quite early and i learnt my lessons in a very hard way. I had an ex i had the courage to tell my rape experience to,he laughed and told me i was lying, because of this ehn i started some of my past relationships with lies because i felt what was the point of being real when he wont believe me. Those so called friends even ganged up to kill me then because of envy. My rape experience affected my sexual life i rarely hv orgasm during sex, my insecurities became immeasurably high.. then i was strong,my heart was like a rock, you cant fight me oh.
“My growing up wasnt fun at all. I didn’t get to experience those sweet childhood memories because i became an adult at a minor age. No one helped me retrace my steps,God did. We all hv stories to tell in one way or the other. How you make your bed is how you will definitely sleep on it. All these pain formed into anger because i was forced to heal up the hard way.
“Sometimes when i get angry its a different version of me u dont want to see, before i couldnt control it, gradually i started managing my anger issues. It’s dead but its still in me so if you pish me to my limit it will erupt . Sometimes anything that will trouble my peace ,i try to avoid it , i either keep calm or walk away but if you push it well . So thank you for reading…. i hope you learnt from my story .
Be the best version of yourself”
The youngest wife of the Alaafin of Oyo, Ayaba Badirat Adeyemi, who recently clocked 30 and marked it in grand style has disclosed how she met and fell in love with the Alaafin.
She further revealed why she is his most trust worthy wife.
See excerpts from her interview with Tribune Newspaper below:
His Majesty, the Alaafin often says you don’t tell lies. How do you feel with this attestation coming from your husband?
Can I say he is my husband? This may not be an easy classification. Baba is more of a father than a husband because everything about him is fatherly. If I say everything, I mean everything he does is all one needs in a father who is caring and is after the success of his children. That is the best way to put it, to be fair with your question and to be fair with myself too. Baba is more than husband. What is even called husband in the context of today’s reality when there is a thin line between husband and wife, in terms of family responsibilities? Again, baba is more than husband to me right from day one.
Do you feel flattered by his attestation that you don’t tell lies?
I think I should ask you of your impression about his remark when he told you. Well, I won’t say I am flattered. Instead of saying what is a common reply to such remark, I should rather be on my knees to show appreciation for that honour, bearing in mind that he is not given to making flippant statements.
What do you mean here?
I mean what I just said. He could be lively but he is never one to make cheap statements. He knows that every word spoken may go into written document. So, he is careful in his use of words, talk less of making a remark on somebody.
Why don’t you tell lies to him?
I think you should better ask of why a person should tell lies. I can tell you with every sense of responsibility, that there is no reason to tell lies to him. I am sure you know the level of his brilliance and intelligence. Do you think you can tell a lie to such a person and go undetected? And beyond that, the way he handles me makes telling lies a taboo. Let me even say, it is a sin, which one knows, to tell lies to him. Don’t forget I said he is more of a father than a husband. If I am sincere with my assessment, I have no reason to tell lies to him. He is everything I am in life. I have to say it that truth is not bitter to Baba as against what is generally said that truth is bitter. So if you have somebody who encourages you to say it as it is, no matter how difficult, you have no reason to tell a lie to him. If you do, then you have sinned even against yourself. And the worst is for one to sin against oneself.
I have heard one or two things about your relationship with him before you became his wife. Can you shed more light on it?
I am not sure he would be interested in going public with the history of our relationship but considering your closeness with him, I think I should just give you a summary of it. Baba brought me up from scratch, sponsored me to school and imparted knowledge into me to become the person I am today.
Which school did you attend?
After secondary school, I attended Emmanuel Alayande College of Education in Oyo here. Later I attended the University of Ibadan where I just graduated. I studied Education Management.
With your qualification, you may turn to a school proprietor later in life.
That is the truth. If Baba approves it, I can run a school having gone through how and what it takes to manage the academic institution.
What other lessons have you learnt from the Alaafin?
He is a born teacher to all of us. He teaches us honesty, commitment to duty, having an independent mind and seeing yourself as a creation of God. He believes that everyone is born with one gift or the other only that we don’t discover the gift to develop it. I think he saw certain gifts in me and decided to train me. To God be the glory for where I am today.
It is alleged that Baba took advantage of you as an underaged girl. How did your relationship turn from foster father to husband?
Those who have peddled such should seek God’s forgiveness because they know nothing about the matter. Haven’t I just told you how Baba brought me up from the scratch? It was a father-and-daughter relationship until I felt I had a brighter future with the commitment he showed. It is unfair for anyone to insinuate that he took advantage of me or any other person. We had formal wedding in the presence of the chief imam and other scholars including my family members. There is no secret about it. And am I not better off today? What I observed about Baba is that whatever he does or does not do naturally attracts noise or controversy.
How then does he respond to the controversy?
I think you ought to know that he is above such things. Don’t forget that we are talking of a very busy traditional ruler who is always reading and writing such that he scarcely has much time to spend on food. He is so principled that you cannot use anything to break him. He does things in his own way and does not play with time. If you are African time person, he will not take you serious because he works according to time.
Can you share with us what inspired your Ayaba Badirat Adeyemi Foundation?
I won’t like to put the activities of the foundation on pages of newspapers. The foundation is my little way of showing appreciation to God for taking me this far in life against odds which I confronted during my growing up years. I think this should answer your question on the inspiration behind the foundation. Baba taught me that what the right hand did should not be leaked to the left hand. If I now come to the newspaper to say ‘I did this and I am going to do that,’ it is against that lesson. We should respect the privacy of the beneficiaries of the foundation. I have toured some local government councils and interacted with some widows who were in need of succour. I am still going to empower more people by enrolling them in fashion schools and other vocations to make them better and live a meaningful life.
He has empowered me to be who I am today. I find it interesting to also empower other people who don’t have the privilege which I had to have been picked up by him for further education. Another important inspiration behind the foundation is Baba’s regular charity which I see on daily basis. Whenever those people are leaving the palace with smiling faces, I am always moved. I think the rich in the society should see charity as a service to improve life of the have-nots in society. What the widows, in particular, go through in this society where everyone is to himself, is pathetic.
Your public outings reveal a fashionista. What influences your dress sense?
I grew up to see my mother as a fashion designer. Naturally, this influenced my passion for fashion. If you enter my room, you will be surprised to see the sewing machines that I use to make my wears. Having informally been trained by my mother, I can say I am creative to a large extent, doing my styles the way I want them. I am not particularly a fashion freak, I am only interested in what sits well on my frame.
You were once of a large size. Did your husband complain? What happened?
It is true that I was but baba has no time to look at you to complain about your size. At best he can lecture you on why one should not be overweight based on his understanding of its health implication. I reduced my weight when I felt I should.
Were you subjected to physical exercise?
You cannot be with Iku Baba without doing exercise because he is a sportsman. He loves his exercises to the extent that a young person would struggle to match up with him.
How do you feel clocking 30?
I feel happy; I feel great; I feel somehow fulfilled that I did not disconnect with where I came from; I feel elated that I have a foundation which is bringing changes to the lives of the underprivileged. On that foundation alone, I am happy and encouraging the rich in society to help the poor.

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has expelled the students who were found culpable in the physical assault of another student in a recent viral video.
The news dominated headlines earlier this month and thde students who were earlier suspended have not been expelled.
The post on the official facebook page of the institution reads;
FUTA Expels Six Students Found Culpable in the Physical Bullying of their Mate.
The Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA has expelled six students over the bullying of a fellow student.
The expulsion is sequel to the recommendation of the University Disciplinary Panel which probed the incident that took place in an off campus hostel on Saturday, November 16, 2019 and adjudged them culpable of gross misconduct and breach of the University Matriculation Oath.
The expulsion is in line with the position of Page 48 of the 2019/2020 Students Handbook which prescribes expulsion from the University for Students who engage in, “Physical assault or battery on another student outside the university premises”.
As a consequence of their expulsion their studentship of FUTA ceases forthwith with all its rights and privileges.
The punishment meted out to the affected students is not to pander to the justifiable public outcry that greeted their odious act but in tandem with the rules and regulations as contained in the Students Code of Conduct as stipulated in the University Handbook and oath of Matriculation which all students are made to sign and subscribe to.
FUTA WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY FORM OF INDISCIPLINE OR BREACH OF UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS
