Teacher drugs, rapes, impregnates 12-year-old pupil in Adamawa
A 12-year-old schoolgirl who was raped by her 37-year-old teacher, Nathan Yusuf, in Namtari, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State, has been confirmed pregnant.
A statement released by the Adamawa State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Nuruddeen, said the teacher, Nathan Yusuf, confessed to giving the victim, Codeine before he raped her.
“On 2nd September 2019, around 2:30 p.m., we arrested a suspect of rape in person of Nathan Yusuf (37) who is a teacher at Gurel primary school in Namtari Yola south, suspected to have raped his pupil who is below 14 years of age. He confessed to giving her codeine syrup before raping her.
“We are advising parents to be vigilant on their children and report such crimes to the relevant authorities for judicial action,” he said.
An uncle of the victim, Sulaiman Namtari, said everyone in the community had enormous respect and trust for the teacher and were shocked he could commit such a crime.
“Every member of the community reserves tremendous respect for the teacher as he has been in the community for years. There is no house he doesn’t enter and every member of the community knows him very well.
”What he did was perfidy of the highest order and for that we want authorities not to spare him,” he said
When interrogated, the suspect blamed the devil for his action.
‘’I regret my action. It was the handiwork of Satan and i am ready to take the full responsibility,’’ he said.

During the interview, Davido was asked to confirm if Chioma is expecting, and he said, ‘wait and see now’.
When reminded that it was on the radio station that he revealed his second baby mama, Amanda, was expecting his daughter Hailey, Davido responded, ”This one is special”.
The ‘special’ response he gave has now prompted his two babymamas to react. First it was Sophia Momodu who shared photos of her daughter, Imade and wrote, ‘you’re so special’.

Zimbabwe ex-president, Robert Mugabe, dies aged 95
Zimbabwe ex-president, Robert Mugabe has died at the age of 95. Mugabe, who was Zimbabwe’s first post-independence leader, died after battling ill health, his family confirmed.
The current President of Zimbabwe announced his passing on Twitter, writing: “It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe’s founding father and former President, Cde Robert Mugabe.”
Mr Mugabe had been in hospital in Singapore since April. He was ousted in a military coup in November 2017, after being in power for over three decades.
He served as Prime Minister of Zimbabwe from 1980 to 1987 and then as President from 1987 to 2017

Woman survives after being shot 11 times by her wife
A Detroit woman is lucky to be alive after she was shot 11 times by her wife during an argument about infidelity in their marriage.
According to Fox 2 Detroit, Airrion Wallace confronted her wife of 12 years after discovering she committed adultery and told her that they needed to file for divorce.
During their argument, Wallace threatened to bring another woman into their home so her wife could understand how it feels to be cheated on.
Wallace’s wife shot her in the vagina four times, four times in the leg, and three times in the stomach. Airrion was in critical condition and underwent emergency surgery and two blood transfusions.
Narrating what happened, Wallace said: “I was telling her that we needed to get a divorce. Because I can handle a lot of things but I can’t handle infidelity. You made me uncomfortable at home, don’t be surprised if I have another female in here. I don’t know why I said that, and she said ‘You want to play with me?’ And looked at me and pulled out a gun.”
She added that she begged during the shooting, saying: “I’m like OK. OK, I hear you, I’m not going to do it”. And she kept going.”
She said she remaned conscious after the shooting and found a way to flee from her home.
“I had to gather as much strength as I could, to get down my stairs and get outside. As soon as I opened the door there were people out there. I said please call the police.”
Wallace’s wife was arrested and she told police she acted in self-defense.
She said: “She wanted me to die because she always felt if she can’t have me, no one could have me.”
The wife has not been formally charged.

Final year student killed by lightning after leaving exam hall in Plateau
A tragic incident occurred at the Federal College of Education in Pankshin community of Plateau State on Monday September 2, as a final year student of the institution was killed by lightning.
The 27-year-old student of the Social Studies/Music Department identified as Ponyak Danladi, was killed by a lightning strike at Agric gate while heading home after an exam.
He was reportedly sitting for his final examination in National Certificate in Education (NCE) before the sad incident occurred. The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the Pankshin General Hospital.

Actress, Angela Okorie took a long walk back to the memory lane as she celebrated her son on his 8th birthday today September 5.
Recounting some of the challenges she faced, Angela Okorie revealed that her son, Chamberline died shortly after birth. She said the doctor asked them to go, before God intervened and brought him back to life.

#Xenophobia: Lagos State government condemns attack on Shoprite
The Lagos State Government through Gbenga Omotoso, the commissioner for Information and strategy has reacted to the attacks on Shoprite Complexes at Jakande and Sangotedo Area of Ajah by some unidentified people claiming to be acting in retaliation against the attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
The state government said, ‘these attacks are condemned as they are against the Nigerian spirit of accommodation and benevolence that the country in general and Lagos State in particular is noted for.
The Federal Government is in dialogue with South African Authorities to stop this obnoxious act. We appeal to our compatriots to eschew violence and any unlawful acts. The Lagos State Government wishes to reiterate its commitment to providing a conducive atmosphere where businesses are conducted without hindrances.
The security agencies have been directed to ensure that law and order prevail in all parts of the State, even as Lagosians are advised to go about their activities without any fear.
‘Naira Marley’s songs and lifestyle influenced me’ – 16-year-old yahoo boy cybercrime suspect
Gombe State Police Command on Tuesday paraded some suspected cyber fraudsters. One of them, 16-year-old Gabriel Michael, said he was influenced by the lifestyle and songs of a Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, Punch reports.
While the police said that the suspected internet fraudster is 18 years old, the suspect identified as Gabriel Michael insisted that he is just 16 years old.
“I learnt hacking through tutorials on YouTube; for so many months I was at it. The lifestyle of a Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, the way he spends money influenced me. Marley talks about being a Yahoo boy (cyber fraudster). My addiction to computer started at the age of seven,” Michael said.
“I’m 16 years old, from Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State. I finished from the Nationwide Academy in Gombe. I was arrested for hacking into someone’s account.
“I generate software like IP protocol, Angry IP scans, linos and I use them to do the job” he added.
Pleading for mercy when paraded before newsmen, Michael said he can channel his skills to legal ventures but has no one to encourage him.
“I regret my actions. I pray to be pardoned, so that I can use my talent in other to work for them (law enforcement agency). I can channel my ideas to legal ventures but the challenge has always been that nobody encourages one to use his talent to do good things. For instance, friends will push you to do so because you are making money. My ambition is to work hard to become a member of the Department of Security Services.”
On how he has been able conceal what he does from his parents, the suspect said he hides under the cover of his everyday job which is aluminum works.
“I hide under the cover of my job; I’m into aluminum works. My parents did not suspect my heinous activities,” he said.
Revealing how he was able to hack into the bank account of one Deborah Tanko to withdraw N187,000, Michael said;
“Once you can guess a name or number you will formulate it. Usually, I start from getting your telephone number from your social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. After getting your names, telephone number and your bank, I will formulate it, and attempt to get your personal data base from the bank and thereafter generate your token for transaction. I don’t usually exceed two attempts; if you do it thrice, you will be caught.”
Punch reported that the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mary Malum said Michael was arrested on August 30, 2019 around the PZ Quarters ( a commercial area of Gombe) for fraud, cheating and cybercrime.
“Michael used his computer to hack into Tanko’s account and withdrew the sum of N187,100 cash from her GT Bank account and the suspect has confessed to the crime. Exhibits recovered from Michael include one mobile handset, N10,000 cash, two pairs of shoes and clothes, amounting to about N33,000. The items were bought with the proceeds of the illegal withdrawal.
“The suspect is under investigation with a view to charging him to court. In line with the IGP’s vision and mission of the Operation Puff Adder meant to reclaim the public space from heinous criminal elements that are threatening internal security, the Gombe State Police Command is determined to ensure that Gombe State remains peaceful.”

An angry Nigerian lady has called on President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to take drastic action to stop the recurring Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
In a video she posted online, the lady prayed against President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo if they fail to stop the attacks on Nigerians. In her words
“I just a video right now of South Africans burning buildings in which Nigerians are in. They are buring buildings and burning people. Nigerians are in South Africa. Buhari, you and your wife, if you don’t act, it will not be well with you, it will not be well with your generation. It is not only you Buhari. The Vice President, you are a Yoruba man. I am a Yoruba woman, If you don’t do anything about it, it will not be well with you. It will not be well with your children. It will not be well with your generation.
If you don’t do anything about it, your family will ruin in the name of Jesus”

Nigerians continue to condemn the ongoing xenophobic attacks on several Nigerian and other Africans in South Africa.
The new wave of attacks has seen the killing of several Nigerians and other Africans as well as looting and burning of shops, businesses and properties.
According to Mr Eazi, ‘Grant us the wisdom to realise that we are one & the same!! Grant us the wisdom to fight the real Enemy which is Poverty, Hunger, Corruption, Oppression, Economic & Mental Slavery!! Open our eyes oh JAH!!!’

Former Senator, Ben Brice also said, ‘I am saddened by the stories and videos coming out of South Africa. I’ve also read reports that the Nigerian embassy in South Africa denied entry to Nigerians who visited to register their displeasure. These incidences are unfortunate. Our citizens deserve better’.
