Earlier today, news made rounds that the EFCC arrested a Lebanese, Hamza Koudeih, alleged to be an accomplice of Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha, who was recently arrested by the commission.
Head of the EFCC’s Lagos zonal office, Mr. Mohammed Rabo, said Koudeih was arrested alongside two others whose nationalities are yet to be established following their alleged involvement in internet fraud and money laundering.
“Hamza Koudeih was arrested over the weekend at the Eko Atlantic Pearl Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he occupied one of the luxury suites. It cost about $5 million annually as rent to maintain the luxury suite.

Worried by the repeated stories of harassment from policemen shared by many young Nigerians, President Buhari has cautioned men of the Nigerian Police to stop with the indiscriminate arrest of young Nigerians in their bid to arrest `yahoo criminals.’
The President gave this word of caution when he spoke at the opening ceremony of the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Lagos on Monday October 28th.
Represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, President Buhari said that the service the police force rendered was one Nigerians could not do without as it was the closest to the grassroots.
“Recently many civil society groups have complained about the arrest of young men and women just because they look successful and are carrying laptops. Yes we must apprehend yahoo criminals but we cannot harass young men and women on the streets and in taxis, most of whom are merely going about their legitimate businesses.
“There are also cases of extra judicial killings and injuries; misuse of weapons and excessive use of force by some members of the force. This sort of conduct by a few bad police officers must stop, and it is the duty of you senior and strategic leaders of the Police force to ensure that impunity of any kind is discouraged and punished where it is found.’’ President Buhari said
The President added that the Nigeria Police force was one of the proudest national assets as it was the largest police force in Africa.
The Big Brother Naija 2019 show may have come and gone but it has left a slew of celebrities in its wake. In the days following the reality tv show that held millions glued to their screen, we have seen the former BBN housemates bask in varying light of stardom.

Tacha is being managed by Tunji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Tee Billz, former manager and ex-husband of Afropop star Tiwa Savage. During the course of the show, Tee Billz expressed his intention of managing her. On the day Tacha left the house, Tee Billz posted:
“No be joke I will make Tacha the biggest brand out of Africa…. Bigger than Big Brother itself! Tacha is the Kim K of Africa!!! #NoCap pls connect me with her I want to be her Business manager”
And with that mission statement, Tee Billz’s firm BillzVision set out to make a diamond out of coal.
First, all previous contents on Tacha’s Instagram page were deleted. Then, there appeared an emotional letter addressed to the last five contestants in the house Mercy, Mike, Seyi, Frodd and Omashola. In the letter, Tacha expressed in words unlike those associated with her, her wishes for the top five.
In an interview with Cool FM, her first since leaving the show, Tacha displayed a never before seen character. She simply circumvented questions that would have recalled the personality her fans associated with her.
There is hardly a day that goes by without a Tacha based trend on Twitter, so much so that it appears like propaganda.
But what exactly is the aim of these aggressive PR moves?
Noteworthy is the fact Kim Kardashian, who TeeBillz intends to model Tacha after is a success story of how one can rise from the ashes of unsavoury scandals and controversy into marketable stardom.
Tacha isn’t your girl next door with a pristine image. Even as a BBN housemate, she polarised opinions with her attitude and relationships with others. Before BBN, she has a sullied reputation.
It is, therefore, necessary for her management to rebuild her public image and cast her in a good light. This is necessary so as to position her for brands who might want to associate themselves with her image and teeming fans. And Twitter has been the go-to platform for her handlers.
The platform is awash with a flurry of hashtags in Tacha’s name. Today it is #NatachaAkide, yesterday it was #GodQualifiedTacha and #OnlyTachaCan the day before. Her management is relentless in its bid to make her “the biggest brand out of Africa”.
But can Teebillz achieve this feat with Tacha?
The artiste manager had previously managed Tiwa Savage with whom he co-founded 323 Entertainment, a record label that signed indigenous rapper CDQ who later left less than a year.

A 59-year-old Malaysian-born con-artist has been sentenced to 51 months in an American prison after pleading guilty to identify theft and fraud.
Washington Post reported that Cheah Siew Im was sentenced to jail on Oct 4 in Alexandria, Virginia, after a 15-year crime spree.
According to the report, Cheah had stolen the identities of at least six people, including past roommates. She would then use those identities for scams.
“She convinced professional athletes and successful executives she was the granddaughter of Singapore’s first prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew, and a close friend of former US President Barack Obama.
The money they gave her for supposed investments in Nigerian oil and Washington sports teams they now believe she spent on high-end cars, plastic surgery and designer handbags,” the report said.
According to court records, her victims included a chef, trainer and several manicurists, among others.
One federal prosecutor described her in court as “a one-woman crime spree.” Another, in a sentencing motion, said she “has perfected the art of identity theft.”
Victims described a mix of anger and awe at Cheah’s near-mystical powers of persuasion. She scammed a Washington Redskins player and his agent out of $1.2m.

Sadiya Umar Farouq, Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian, Disaster Management and Social Development has said that over 90m Nigerians live in extreme poverty.
Sadiya Umar Farouq, who disclosed the Buhari-led administration’s decision to lift 90 million Nigerians out of extreme poverty during a budget defense session before the House of Representatives Committee on IDPs, stated that the ministry will address the underlying causes, drivers and consequences of humanitarian crises and underdevelopment.
The Ministry’s budget for the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons are as follows: N474,306,285 for personnel, N165 million for resettlement of IDPs in the North East and Bakkasi returnees in the 2020 budget proposal.
Ghanaian Singer, Becca is not happy people are chiding her for getting married to a Nigerian Man because she waited for 33 years and no Ghanaian man ever proposed marriage to her.
The singer disclosed in an interview with Afia Pokuaa on her “Vim Talk” Show that she got married to a Nigerian because no Ghanaian proposed to her.

Embattled Nigerian Big Boy and Instagram celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha has had his popular Instagram account deactivated.
A quick search on the social network for the name ‘MOMPHA’ which was a verified account prior to his arrest no longer yields any result from the search query.
Prior to his arrest by the EFCC, Mompha was notoriously famous on Instagram for showing off his exotic cars, big boy lifestyle among other things which endeared many Nigerians who were always in his comment section begging for one thing or another.
Apparently, it got to the notice of the authorities and a stealth investigation was carried out on the real source of his wealth.
Mompha was arrested mid-october and the charges leveled against him are damning .
“Mustapha allegedly perpetrates his fraudulent activities under the cover of being a Bureau de Change operator, to launder his proceeds of crime,” the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren had said during the time of his arrest.
Louise Harvey, a mother-of-three has died following breast enlargement and tummy tuck procedures on the advice of staff who told her it would be cheaper to have both done at the same time.
The 36-year-old Harvey, died from blood clots following the surgeries carried out by Transform plastic surgery clinic at Riverside hospital in London. The beauty therapist was not given a second dose of blood thinners despite medical notes indicating she had a significant family history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a coroner said.
Her mother Linda Harvey, 53, whose own mother died of blood clotting, said that her daughter was sent home without the necessary medication. It was reported that a second dose of anti-coagulant drugs to help thin the blood was ‘crossed out’ on her notes indicating she had been given the dosage.
Sadly she was only given one dose which was meant to be administered four hours after the operation but was actually given eight hours later, an inquest heard.
In a statement read by Norfolk’s area coroner Yvonne Blake, Linda Harvey said that her daughter wanted a tummy tuck as ‘she felt she had some loose skin around her belly following the birth of her youngest son’.

A Nigerian pastor, Ephraim Ononye has shared photos of a suspected thief, who allegedly broke into his house in Obosi, Anambra, while he was at a church service in Abakaliki on Sunday October 27.

The EFCC has arrested a Lebanese identified as Hamza Koudeih suspected to be an accomplice of Dubai-based Nigerian instagram celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha a.k.a Mompha.
The EFCC arrested Koudeih after a three-hour stand-off at his N1.8 billion luxury apartment in the 33-storey Eko Atlantic Pearl Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was learnt that he and his wife refused opening the door to their apartment and also refused responding to appeals by the building’s chief security officer.
The suspect who alongside Mompha and other arrested suspects are allegedly kingpins of a network of cyber criminals who laundered N33 billion through three firms, lived in an apartment which was fortified with triple reinforced fire-proof door and closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, making it difficult for the operatives to gain entrance.
However after EFCC operatives gained access into the apartment after trying to break down the door with breaching tools, his wife claimed that her husband had escaped through the window even though they lived in the topmost floor.
Koudeih was found hiding in the ceiling and a fire-proof safe containing different charms and talismans in calabashes was uncovered after a search was conducted in his bedroom.
Two luxury cars were recovered from the suspect who claimed the charms were his “prayer objects”.
Koudeih and his wife’s immigration status are currently being investigated. local and international law enforcement agencies are said to have indicated interest to collaborate in the investigation.
“Investigations have also revealed that Mompha uses a firm known as Ismalob Global Investments Limited to perpetrate about N14 billion money laundering while Koudeih also operate two firms namely: THK Services Limited and CHK properties Limited to launder about N19 billion.”
Controversial Media Personality and Convener of the #FreeTheSheeple movement, Daddy Freeze, has compared the prayer said by Nigerian singer, Davido to that said by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye.

Posting on Instagram, Daddy Freeze stated that the prayer said by Davido is more Christian and should be responded to with an annual by true Christians.
He added that Pastor Adeboye’s prayer should be met with a “God forbid” response.

A woman who sent text messages to her late father’s phone every day for four years got the ‘shock of her life’ when she got a response.
A 23 year old lady, Chastity Patterson, was left in shock after she received a text from her late father’s phone after she continuosly messaged him for four years.
Chastity sent her late father, Jason Ligons’ phone text message updates on her life as a way to keep his memory alive, and last week, a night before the fourth anniversary of his death texted his number saying: ‘Hey Dad, it’s ME. Tomorrow is going to be a tough day again!’
To Chastity’s shock and surprise, a man named Brad responded, revealing that he lost his own daughter in 2014 and that her texts have kept him going.
After reading his text, Chastity said in a Facebook post that his reply shows her father is at peace.
Brad’s message read: ‘Hi sweetheart, I am not your father, but I have been getting all your messages for the past four years. ‘I look forward to your morning messages and your nightly updates.
‘My name is Brad and I lost my daughter in a car wreck August 2014 and your messages kept me alive. ‘When you text me, I know it’s a message from God. ‘I’m sorry you lost someone so close to you, but I have listened to you over the years and I have watched you grow and go through more than anyone.
‘I have wanted to text you back for years, but I didn’t want to break your heart.’
