UNIMAID lecturer defeats 5720 others to win World Physics Competition

Dr. Yakubu Nura of the University of Maiduguri, in Nigeria, has won the World Physics Competition by defeating about 5720 contenders from 97 countries.

World Championship-2019 in Physics (Einstein’s planetary equation) acknowledged the outstanding international contributions and selected him “based on international meritorious competition”.

Dr. Nura’s research article was announced winner among 5721 nominations from 97 countries, screened for the World Championship-2019 in Physics (Einstein’s planetary equation).

Nura, who hails from Yobe State, is now recognized as the father of modern Einstein’s planetary equation studies in Physics.

The award was instituted to identify brilliant scientists and academicians around the world through world championship.

The World Championship is organized by the International Agency for Standards and Ratings at international level.

Nura, (world champion and fellow, Directorate of Physics, IASR) plays a vital role in the advancement of scientific knowledge in Physics, reports Voice of Nigeria.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Anto Lecky has lashed out at Nigerians over being hypocritical when housemates have sex in the Big Brother house, instead of focusing on other challenges facing the nation.

Maintaining that sex is a part of life which people around the world indulge in, the reality show star pointed out that Nigeria is having a population crisis and babies should start getting incubated in laboratories.

“Nigeria has a population crisis, and we are not incubating babies in laboratories yet, so it’s happening from sex. That’s the sex we should be talking about, not BBN house sex. People are too hypocritical about housemates having sex. People around the world have sex. It’s a part of life; television or not” she told Sunday Scoop.

Also expressing her opinion on choice of housemates for the 2019 edition of the reality show, Anto said;

“I don’t watch the show all the time but I think the house has a good mix of housemates. I can be honest and say I like the fact that there are more Nigerians from the diaspora like myself. As a former housemate, I’m not concerned about who wins, but how well everyone fares after leaving the house.”

The gentleman, with the username @amefricana revealed that he left Nigeria when he was 18 as an international student and returned home after 5 years with a permanent residency in Canada.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye while preaching at the Holy Ghost Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God 67th Annual Convention on Friday August 9, recalled how God told him about the danger Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was in before the helicopter crash he survived in February with his team in Kabba area of Kogi State.

According to the RCCG General Overseer, God whispered to him while in his prayer room that his son (Yemi Osinbajo) was in danger.

“I got the message but I didn’t know how to present it,” he said. “He was going around on political campaigns so I didn’t know how to stop him. I also didn’t want him to be scared so I resorted to praying for him.”

The General Overseer said he prayed for two minutes, repeating “Father, protect your son,” four times.

Recall that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in his testimony after the February crash he escaped unhurt, said he did not understand why the pastor repeated the prayer of safety for him.

“I briefed him on the progress we have made with the campaign and then the General Overseer prayed for God’s protection for me in all my travels and movements.

“That was not what the devil had planned but what did the headline read, Vice President Osinbajo’s helicopter crashes all unhurt, not one crash,” Osinbajo said during a thanksgiving service in Lokoja.

Twitter unverifies VP Yemi Osinbajo’s account, deletes 2,399 tweets

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo‘s official Twitter handle has been unverified.

All tweets by the account which was created in December 2014, have also been deleted and his profile picture and header image have been taken down.

The suspension and deletion of tweets took place between Friday night August 9th and Saturday morning August 10th.

The Vice President’s office is yet to give any reasons for this. There are speculations that the account became unverified after attempts by some persons to hack it.

He has banned them from participating in some of the coming week activitie.

Time to time, Biggie has warned the Pepper Dem gang about their flagrant disregard of the House rules and now, he has decided to make an example of some of them. Frodd, Sir Dee, Joe, Tacha, Omashola, Mike, Enkay, Elozonam and Jackye will not be allowed to participate in the Veto Games and Head of House Challenge in the coming week as punishment for flouting Biggie’s instruction not to enter the two main bedrooms.

As much as it might hurt these Housemates, it’s worthy to note that they did bring this on themselves. The scary part is that Biggie still promised more actions on this issue and also address all the other House infringements. The failure of the Housemates to adhere to simple instruction earned them more reproach.

Bayero University expels 24 final year students

Twenty-four final year students of Bayero University Kano (BUK) have been expelled from the institution as confirmed in a statement released by its management on Friday, August 9.

The statement released by the spokesperson for the university Lamara Garba, revealed that 6 students presented fake results from their institutions while another student presented a cancelled NECO result.

It however added that 18 students will be reappearing before the Senate Committee on Entry Qualification Irregularities to be given a fair hearing on their expulsion.

The students’ expulsion announcement came after the 374th meeting of the University’s Senate on Wednesday August 7.

It was learnt that 10 of the expelled students were from the Faculty of Education, nine from Faculty of Social and Management Sciences while Faculties of Law, Agriculture, Science, Engineering and Arts and Islamic Studies had one each.

A mobile device has captured the horrific moment a man driving a jeep ran over a bus driver following a traffic accident in Colombia.

Fellow motorists driving by the scene recorded the sickening moment one José Mauricio Gil Velásquez slowly accelerated and drove over Vargas’ body following an argument between the men. Witnesses shouted at the Gil Velásquez to reverse in order to free the bus driver who was pinned under the wheel.

Vargas was treated by paramedics on site and taken to a local hospital. He didn’t suffer any fractures although he was diagnosed with bruising to his legs.

BamBam has now spoken about her engagement to Teddy A and how real it is in a new interview she granted

“It (engagement) is real. Just like every other thing, you would see it happen. I can’t start giving (wedding) dates” she told Saturday Beats.
