Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has become the subject of discussion about rape since Busola Dakolo in a video interview revealed how the preacher raped her when she was 16.
The revelation sparked social media outrage as protesters storm the church branch in Lagos and its headquarters in Abuja as protesters asked him to step down.
Some alleged supporter of Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo countered some protesters today in Abuja.
They carried placards with inscriptions describing how much impact the clergyman has made in their lives. “Pastor Biodun teaches the mind of Christ”, “Pastor Biodun is my mentor”, “Pastor Biodun is a true Man of God” were inscriptions of some of the placards.
Now, a new video is showing that some of his ‘alleged supporters’ were paid the sum of 10k to carry the placards in support of the man of God.

Two unidentified men have been taken into custody by security agents after they turned up at a planned protest outside the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Abuja.
The church has come under nationwide interest since one of its members came out Friday to accuse Biodun Fatoyinbo, its lead preacher, of rape.
Busola Dakolo, the wife of the musician Timi, said she was raped by Mr Fatoyinbo at age 16 in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Mr Fatoyinbo has denied the allegations and threatened a lawsuit.
A large segment of Nigerians on social media dismissed the preacher’s explanation and stood in solidarity with Mrs Dakolo, now a mother of three.
The rape allegation led to a call for a protest at the COZA headquarters in Abuja.
Two of the male protesters were driven away in a black Mercedes Benz C200 saloon belonging to an unidentified security agency shortly before 8:00 a.m, according to witnesses.
PREMIUM TIMES has not been able to identify the agency responsible for the arrest.
Two witnesses outside the church told PREMIUM TIMES they were angry that security agencies had started clamping down on citizens even though the protest was yet to begin.
The protest was planned for 8:30 a.m. by social media organisers.
The church has seen an increase in security measure over the weekend, PREMIUM TIMES learnt.
As protesters began to arrive, more security personnel were also deployed at the church’s headquarters in Abuja’s Guzape neighbourhood.
At least 30 police officers were seen around the church. About 20 Civil Defence men were also seen scattered between the church’s junction on Murtala Muhammed Way and the church’s premises, a distance of about 1.2 kilometres.
Hooded men from the State Security Service (SSS) were also everywhere outside the church, a presence some of the protesters said was aimed at intimidating them.
About a dozen soldiers also arrived at the church at about 8:40 a.m.
At the church’s entrance, security agents have joined church security officials to conduct a thorough search of visitors and members of the congregation who wanted to go inside the auditorium ahead of service commencement at 9:00 a.m.
Both men and women were asked to leave all their belongings outside. Only mobile phones and the Holy Bible were allowed inside, PREMIUM TIMES observed.
Members of the congregation who decried the stringent measure as unnecessarily problematic.
“I have been attending this church since 2013 when we were still using the Thisday Dome in Jabi,” a female member said. “This is too much today.”
She, however, said the measure might be necessary to prevent Mr Fatoyinbo’s detractors from having their way.
“People have been trying to blackmail our pastor for a long time,” she told PREMIUM TIMES.
But two protesters interviewed by PREMIUM TIMES ahead of the protest said they were here to demand accountability from Mr Fatoyinbo, who has faced at least two separate allegations of misconduct since 2013.

Big Brother Naija star, Bamike popularly known as BamBam, has also revealed that she was raped by her ex-boyfriend and a spiritual leader.
This is coming in the wake of the rape saga between Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) and singer Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola.
My heart has been heavy since this rape situation started. Like I feel physical pains in my heart. I’ve been truly sad and have never wished that justice be truly served to these heartless! insensitive! brutal! unrepentant rapists!!!
Cos I have been there, I know what it does to the mind and self esteem of the victim.
It was with an ex boyfriend and a spiritual leader I trusted. Took me meeting another man who saw me for me before I healed completely. Sadly I couldn’t end up with him, but God used him.
Be kind to women, some men have been raped too. Truly be kind to people, you don’t know what true love and true transfer of kindness love and light can do to another person. I’m in tears as I type cos it hurts really bad just remembering and knowing how victims feel.
Cos when you take the body of another without their consent you mentally scar them too! Yo! I trust God and want to trust the law to do the needful!
I tried not to relate this to my personal self but when you hear experiences you lived, you become restless, memories hunt you. I have been refreshing all the updates on the movement/protest for tomorrow.
Something in my head keeps ringing would justice be served this time? Another is hoping and praying that it is truly SERVED rightly! I cannot overemphasize how a win for Busola will be victory for all!
Lord help us all.
Such a sick perverted generation.
For the longest I didn’t realise I haven’t fully healed and mentally/emotionally dealt with what those events did to me. I repressed them. Repressed the memories shared with no one.
It’s important to surround yourself with kind people who listen and understand you. It helps to heal properly. And please don’t repress, prayerfully talk to the right people.
I look forward to Nigeria having a functional rehabilitation center for victims of rape.
Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji has reacted again to the ongoing rape saga between pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA and Bisola Dakolo, the wife of singer, Timi Dakolo.
Genevieve Nnaji who previously reacted to the rape allegation against Pastor Fatoyinbo, described Busola Dakolo as a brave woman.
She further took a swipe at those defending the rape act;
In a separate post today, the actress called the clergyman an ‘alleged rapist.’, while sharing his photos.
A former family friend to COZA pastor Bidoun Fatoyinbo, Dolapo Oseji, has also reacted to the rape allegation the pastor is dealing with at the moment.
According to Dolapo, Biodun also invited her to a hotel with the aim of sleeping with her.
Dolapo took to her IG page to first commend Busola for sharing her story then went on to tell her own story.
In her words;
I salute you @busoladakolo and @timidakolo You have shown so much courage. I pray the Holy Spirit continues to strengthen you and heal you completely.
It’s difficult to see your Pastor accused of a crime so grave. However, it’s important we realise that evil thrives when good people keep quiet. Rape is a serious crime and must not be covered up. I believe her because I had a personal encounter with Pastor Biodun several years ago.
He had become a family friend and was also my sister’s Pastor as she attended COZA. Bottom line is on a certain day he was in Lagos, he asked me to spend the night in his hotel room with him. He made it seem so innocent but I was already in my twenties and knew it was inappropriate to spend a night alone with him for whatever re
ason. I also wondered what his wife and my relatives would think of it. That was the end of my interaction with him. Everyone makes mistakes however we must not condone anyone making such repeated mistakes. To any leader in any capacity exploiting the vulnerable under you, TIMES UP.

But we never expected her brother’s reaction.. It was totally unexpected.
The Lady in the screenshot, reminded her brother about how he brought home this said friend, who later forcefully had sex with her in the year 2012.
According to her, she told him shortly after the rape, but her ‘supposed older brother’ didn’t fight for her. Instead he invited the friend to the house again…. and then when he drove her to school, her rapist was in the car with them.
Eventually, she discovered she was pregnant from the rape and had to abort it.
As she laid her mind bare the her brother in a text, expecting him to do right by her after so many years, she got her heart shattered again as the same big bro slammed her for getting raped. He called her a “shameless idiot” and a “fool”.
The woman shared the screenshots and said this is the reason why women refuse to speak out.
Cherry Entafield, a Nollywood actress who sat for an interview with Saturday Beats has disclosed that she has chosen to use her boobs to get the needed attention she wants.
According to Cherry Entafield, she had tried to get the ‘needed attention’ to her talents but all her efforts failed until she started dancing in her underwear and also making use of her boobs for some dance moves.
“I am made of steel, I believe in my art and what I have to offer to the world. This is the means I have to express myself. I receive a lot of backlash all the time; I understand that some people don’t understand but it doesn’t bother me.
“My selling point is my bust; I’ve tried other ‘selling points’ but they did not work. I tried to be funny at some point, but I only got a few number of views. I tried poetry for over a year and still had few followers. Now, when I post some of my old poems, people are always amazed at them. When I was posting them back then, nobody gave a damn about them. My poetry and raps are gaining more traction.
“I thought deeply about how to engage my audience and I thought to myself that people who shake their bum (twerk) get a lot of views and that was why I decided to use my boobs to dance and I called it ‘bresking’. The first video I uploaded went viral and that was how I gained a lot of audience and they started noticing my poetry. I realised it worked. I didn’t do it against my will; I just discovered what works for me. This is me, and I am okay.
“I have always been creative. As a secondary student, I was the leader of a dance group. I used to compose poems just like my father. I have an alter ego, I am shy in reality but when I am in front of the camera, my other personality performs. I am doing entertainment for now but I won’t throw away my knowledge of dentistry. My siblings are aware of what I do and they know it is a form of publicity for my art. They understand me,” she told Saturday Beats.

She wrote as she shared her video; “There is no excuse for rape whatsoever!”
Omotola Jalade in her post stated that she knows it took a lot for Busola Dakolo to go public with the rape claims. She wrote;
“Just off my coaching at @realtimefest and have seen the interview of #Rape by #BusolaDakolo against the #Coza pastor. First, As a Mother, Wife,Career Woman and Activist I know what it’s taken for this Lady to BRAVELY speak up. I join Many other Nigerians to Demand justice ..”
Genevieve Nnaji who reacted to the rape allegation against Pastor Fatoyinbo, described Busola Dakolo as a brave woman.
She further took a swipe at those defending the rape act;
Two ‘Top Rappers’ in the game, Vic O and Speed Darlington recently dragged themselves on Twitter, over their music collaboration and who gave who their phone number.
Speedy took his first shot, writing;
@VICO_VNO I’m very angry at you. I’m so angry I’m beginning to feel like we should have never did music together, I swear. How did all this people get my phone number? You are using my number to look for friendship you understand I am Americana? we stingy with our numbers.
You make me so angry I want to block you on all platforms cuz I don’t want nothing to do with you no more . I am not in Nigeria, my reality is not Nigeria yet. We don’t plaster phone number on our bio. So how did all those people get my number? since I gave it to you.
People told me not to associate myself with you that you backwards but Mercedes maintenance made me say yes because I need money to keep my car running now this is what I get? Smh.
In response, Vic O wrote;
Even if u wanna get attention U shouldn’t be using me… I’m your mentor Remember this!!! I luv u as an African brother, Ask your fans, The only thing I did on IG is to give your twitter handle to ur fans,… And u should thank me for that, Not the other way round.

Biodun Fatoyinbo, the senior pastor of COZA was accused of rape by Busola Dakolo, a celebrity photographer and wife of singer, Timi Dakolo.
The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has reacted to the rape allegation leveled against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo by singer, Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola.
In an interview with New Telegraph, the Special Assistant on Media and Communications to CAN president, Supo Ayokunle, Pastor Oladeji Adebayo, said the Christian body does not regulate how pastors operate their churches.
“I am sorry CAN does not intervene in how churches are running. Churches belong to denominations and these are the two bodies that regulate how pastors run their ministries, not CAN. CAN deals with intrareligious matters and stands between the church and the government.” he said
In light of the sexual abuse allegation leveled against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, by Timi and Busola Dakolo, a respected man of God, in person of Pastor Tony Rapu has shared deep insights on how such cases should be addressed.
According to Tony Rapu, ‘many leaders lack the confidence to address sexual abuse because they do not feel adequately equipped to handle the complexities involved’.
‘Others do not have sufficient training to address the challenges sexual or even domestic abuse matters throw up. We need to understand how this issue of sexual abuse can be addressed in the light of the Gospel’ he said.
See his full piece below;
From child sexual assault to domestic violence to workplace harassment, abuse destroys countless lives. New stories filled with allegations of sexual abuse or assault by leaders and prominent persons continue to emerge. The #MeToo phenomenon has drawn significant attention to an issue that many are afraid to talk about.
Only recently, some young girls spoke out against abuse by young Nigerian boys in UK universities, when they conducted a walk around the Bourdillon, Ikoyi area to bring attention to this issue. This negative trend is now impacting people in our churches and those we are trying to reach with the message of the Kingdom.
I believe many churches desire to get it right on this issue but often do not get involved because leadership may lack the competence to address the problem. Many lack the confidence to address sexual abuse because they don’t feel adequately equipped to handle the complexities involved. Others do not have sufficient training to address the challenges of sexual or even domestic abuse matters throw up. We need to understand how this issue of sexual abuse can be addressed in the light of the Gospel:
Caring for survivors:
Protecting and caring for others was a priority of Jesus Christ in His life and it should be for us today. The effect of sexual abuse cannot be overlooked or minimised. The trauma experienced by a survivor of sexual abuse should drive us to compassionate ministry.
Many have never told anyone and I believe when they do, they need to be met with support and care as a first response. Because it is difficult to share, we must be sensitive even to delayed, vague or partial disclosure. Even in cases where it is still an allegation, survivors should still be supported as many innocent victims who have hitherto been shamed into silence are encouraged to voice their pain.
There is no quick fix to this trauma. So we need to work patiently, not shaming the survivors, but allowing time for grief. If we do not respond appropriately to issues of abuse, we will end up bringing greater pain that traumatizes the individuals, and we would never be able to effectively address this issue.
Confronting sin:
We must call sexual abuse sin. Since we understand God’s design for sexuality, it will be sad if the world were more willing than the Church to name and address the issue of sexual abuse. Sexuality was created by God for our good. When we understand the beauty of what God designed, we can appreciate the devastating effects of sexual abuse. We cannot ignore or cover the matter.
Properly dealing with sin like this reflects what we believe about God and the Gospel. When prominent personalities in the world do not offer apologies for their actions, it provides a backdrop for the Church to discuss what genuine repentance should look like.
Confronting sin means we are being honest when things go wrong in the Church. We must evaluate what went wrong in order to make appropriate changes in situations of abuse. It is never late to do the right thing.
Seeking justice:
Abuse is not just a sin. It is also against the law in many countries. As we have seen in cases globally where there is an attempt to cover up abuse, it is usually in a bid to avoid a scandal. Unfortunately, this produces a system that empowers and protects abusers and in the end it is the abused, particularly minors, who suffer.
We need to be more concerned about dealing with sexual abuse in a way that cares for survivors and demonstrates justice rather than with the fear of what a scandal might produce. We must recognize sexual abuse as a sin but also something that goes beyond the jurisdiction of the Church. This is where many organisations make a mistake by trying to handle sexual assault allegations internally.
Some have blamed survivors, even those who were children at the time of the abuse and have often pressurised them to forgive rather than seek justice. There is a sense of not wanting other people to know. We don’t want to air our dirty laundry in public. But we must never pressure survivors into forgiveness. Yes, we do need forgiveness; but we must not use forgiveness to undermine the severity of sexual abuse and keep survivors quiet.
Protecting the vulnerable:
We must look for ways to improve our effort to prevent and stop abuse. We can protect the vulnerable through sexual abuse awareness training. We need to demonstrate that the Church is a safe place both in preventing abuse, protecting the vulnerable, and getting help for those abused. We have a God who cares for the vulnerable and hears their cries. We as His people should be like Him.
The Church should be the place where victims of sexual assault find help and hope. Training on how to identify sexual abuse and respond to survivors will help members navigate this difficult topic in a Christ-centered approach. We have a long way to go in not shaming the abused.
We have been too afraid of being attacked by outsiders and too focused on maintaining our image. The truth is that addressing sexual abuse gives us the opportunity to acknowledge our sins and our need of a Savior. It also demonstrates the nature of God to a broken world.
Actress, Adesua Etomi has called on the Lead pastor of Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) to step down as pastor of the church until the whole issue with the Dakolos is settled.
“The law is in place for a reason. Till this issue is handled, till these allegations are investigated, till the law takes it’s full course, there should be no sermon on that pulpit from him. Someone else can preach for now. What is right is right.
#PASTORSTEPDOWN”
Yesterday, Etomi-wellington also revealed that she’s standing by Busola Dakolo;
“Survivor. Not a victim. You have spoken your truth even when you knew it could cost you everything. Clearly, we still need to have active conversations about rape because a lot of people CLEARLY still don’t get it. Busola, we are proud of you. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” You have done something. Ps I have turned my comments off because I am not looking for people to validate or invalidate my stance. Regardless of either, It is my stance. #istandwithyou #istandwithbusoladakolo”
5 shocking things Busola Dakolo said about COZA’s pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo
One of the most shocking and explosive stories you’d be reading today is that of Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola Dakolo revealing how the senior pastor of Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo raped her twice years ago.
In an exclusive interview with YNaija, Busola gave a detailed account of how she met the pastor while she was in secondary school and started worshipping at his then club turned church after a lot of persuasions from her sisters.
Busola Fatoyinbo revealed in graphic details how Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo was ruthless and unremorseful during the period he raped her. She went on to reveal how finally opened up to her family about the raped incident and how her brother was held back from attacking Pastor Fatoyinbo. Here are five explosive things Busola Dakolo said about Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
1. Their first encounter
“I have to say this is the first time I would be coming out like in public to discuss something with someone else, except my family and my husband. I was still in secondary school and I came home, I was still staying in Ilorin because I was born in Ilorin, went to primary and secondary in Ilorin. I returned home for a particular holiday and my sisters all told me that they are now going to a particular club…I went there and they said time for new first timers to stand up and I did, introduced myself as Busola and explained my journey there,” she said.
She went on to talk about how she wasn’t really interested in coming to the club because of the way they worshiped God but was impressed by the kind of messages and what people had to say.
“After the message, Pastor Bioudun Fatoyinbo preached, he came to meet me after the service, then it wasn’t COZA, it was called Divine Delight Club and he wasn’t married yet but he was engaged to his present wife. He came to meet me and said I was such a bold lady that he had never seen someone like this, that I needed to keep the fire then he said, can you do something in the next meeting before you go to school? He asked me when I’ll be going back to school…then I told him I can sing and he said that’s great. He then said he plays the keyboard that he would help me rehearse. So, I told my sisters,” she said.
For Busola, because she was skeptical about the club, she informed her sister about her unwillingness to actually go ahead with the plan to which they rebuffed her. She, however, agreed and decided to go ahead.
“My sister then took me to his house, he was living with his father and his wife was always there. She left me there because he was already seated by the keyboard. As at then, I didn’t have a phone, even my house, we didn’t have any landline. So he asked me what kind of song I wanted to sing, I did and we rehearsed and I went back home. So the next meeting I did the song and I was singing someone came out to give his life to Christ…after the service he gave me books to read, but it wasn’t at the spot,” she said.
2. How Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo raped her the first time
The first time he visited, he asked if she’d join him on an errand run. Her mother was concerned but didn’t really push when Busola insisted that she wanted to go. They drove in his white Mercedes Benz and finally spoke for the first time. Though she was normally guarded around men, Fatoyinbo was charming, using his knowledge of her family and the absence of her father to gain her trust. Before long, he was visiting the house regularly, engaging her in ways her unavoidably distant sisters weren’t.
“One particular day, Pastor Biodun came to meet me and he said, you don’t like to talk and he was like how are you and I was like I’m fine. He started coming to my house and my family was very involved in the COZA,” she wrote.
Then one morning, Fatoyinbo showed up at her house unannounced. It was a Monday morning early enough that Busola Dakolo was still in her nightgown. Her mother had traveled with her sisters and were absent at service the previous Sunday. He didn’t say a word, forcing her onto a chair, speaking only to command her to do as he said. It took Busola a while to come to terms with what was about to happen, and it was why she didn’t struggle or make a fuss when he pulled down her underwear and raped her. She remembers he didn’t say anything after, left to his car, returned with a bottle of Krest and forced her to drink it, probably as some crude contraceptive. She remembers him saying.
“You should be happy that a man of God did this to you.” At this time, his wife had just given birth to their first child, Oluwashindara.
3. Raping her the second time
She was too terrified to tell her sisters or mother about his violence, stewing in silence for a week. Her sisters were active in the church, and to avoid suspicion she followed them to church the next Sunday. She remembers he spoke about grace during the service and after, Modele Fatoyinbo asks that she come to help her with her new baby, something she had never done before. It was normal for church members to come to serve at the pastor’s house so her sisters allayed her protests.
Feeling she had no options, she went to her pastor’s house, Fatoyinbo tried to isolate her later that night from his wife and their daughter by insisting she slept in the family’s guest room. She managed to thwart his plans, appealing to the pastor’s wife to let her sleep in their master bedroom. “No one ignores me.” He would tell her this the next morning, smacking her butt. It was an ominous enough statement that Busola became apprehensive and tried to leave for her house once it was past twilight. It was the first of many threats she would get from the flamboyant pastor.
Fatoyinbo would insist on dropping her off at home, even though she protested several times. Instead of dropping her off at the junction as he had promised, he detoured, driving her away from safety and towards a secluded spot. He threatened her the entire drive, making proclamations about how he owned her and how he was angry that he had thwarted her the night before. He opened the car, pulled her out of the passenger seat and raped her a second time in the space of a week. First behind the car, then moving her to the bonnet for ease of access.
She didn’t fight, she had lost all her will to. She’d protected her virginity for so long that having it forcefully taken this way broke her. He guided back into the car when he was done, and told her he loved her, speaking of how he’d told his pastors that men of God raped women, that there was nothing special about what he did. He dropped her off outside her home as though everything was normal.
4. Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo confessing
In Lagos, her sister who she believes has the Sight, told her about a dream she had had, where she’d seen Busola crying, blood on a chair and Fatoyinbo smiling. She asked her pointedly, breaking months of silence and starting a flood of admissions about the rape and everything that had happened. Her sister convinced her to return to Ilorin and together they told her other sisters and her brother, who was studying at the University of Ilorin. Her brother flew into a rage, grabbing a pocket knife and taking her to Fatoyinbo’s house. He was able to intercept them before they reached his house, and together with Wole Soetan, who she suggests is now the pastor of the COZA Portharcourt branch, convince them to return home and that Fatoyinbo would follow.
The pastor and two of his church members would eventually come to pacify her family, blaming the devil and Soetan even promising to leave the church to show how little tolerance he had for promiscuity.
After Soetan would confide in Busola that he couldn’t leave the church because he felt Fatoyinbo was ‘weak’ and needed spiritual guidance and support. He convinced her siblings to keep the rape and assault from her mother. Numb to all emotion, Busola pretended to concede and after two weeks of constant visitation from the pastors and the unspoken implication that Fatoyinbo was an alleged reformed cultist with a lot to lose if news of her rape went public, she returned to the church to protect her family and project normalcy.
5. How Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo continued to target her
Fatoyinbo continued to target Busola in the intervening months, organizing prayer sessions and specialized deliverance sessions with guest pastors to help ‘repair’ her ‘bondage’ and suggesting to her that the violence he had meted towards her was a problem they both had in common and needed communal deliverance, Busola would find out that Fatoyinbo had been telling church members that she wasn’t ready for a relationship when the pastor’s cousin befriended her.
Their time would eventually develop into a relationship and she would confide in him about what had happened to her. With his help, she would leave the church and join another congregation.

Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus tweeted this amidst reports of Busola Dakolo’s rape allegations against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo.
She wrote: “I am in tears right now. Just got off the phone with someone I have known for 15 years. She had the same experience with this same pastor. The details of her experience were so shocking. She told ppl around him, but they all suppressed it. Are ppl still doubting this incident?”
