The groom-to-be tendered his request on popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter. In the tweet, the gentleman identified as OluwaLamzy took a bold step for his wife-to-be, who is a fan of Simi, as he sent tweet directed at the singer, requesting that she attends his wedding to make his wife’s day more special.
OluwaLamzy stated that though he knows he cannot afford to pay Simi’s fee for her to grace his wedding, he pleaded with the singer to attend, stating that he would do anything she wants.
The singer then replied to him, asking for his wedding date – he tweeted at her, revealing when his wedding would take place. To OluwaLamzy’s surprise, the singer asked him to continue the conversation in her direct message.

The Air Peace Boeing 737 plane lost its tyres after crash-landing at the Airport facility. According to eyewitness accounts, the incident was brought under control, thanks to the expertise of Captain Simi who handled the near-fatal incident professionally.

An accident which occurred on Tuesday at Akinhale village, Ewekoro, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Ogun State, left three people dead and two others injured.
The accident involving an Iveco truck, with number plate AAA 912 XK, occurred after the driver lost control of the wheels, leading to the detachment of the container which veered off the road into the bush.
Confirming the incident, spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said bodies of the victims had been deposited at Ifo General Hospital’s mortuary, while the two injured victims were taken to state hospital at Ifo.
“The trailer driver was on top speed when suddenly the driver lost control and the body (trailer) detached from the head as a result of not being properly hooked, before it veered into the bush.
“Among the confirmed dead was also the driver of the trailer. The vehicle has been taken to Ewekoro Divisional Police Station” he said.
A 23-year-old single mother who recently bagged 3 degrees – 2 Bachelors and a Masters degree – has narrated what she endured to put herself through school after learning she was pregnant.
Montoya, already had a degree, then went back to school to further her education. Shortly after, she discovered she was pregnant with twins and was advised to leave school. But she was determined to end well and carried the burden alone. She recently graduated with her second bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Sonography and masters in Health Science.
Sharing her story, she wrote:
I ALMOST GAVE UP! The Devil really had me.
NOTHING could have prepared me for the journey that I’ve been through…Our program started off with 26 people and I am now 1 of 17 that will be graduating. 5 months after starting my graduate program I found out that I was pregnant. When I told my program director I was expecting he told me I should just take time off and come back next year because it was going to be too hard to finish the program with a baby and “nearly impossible” to do it with two. I went to class every single day literally until the day I gave birth.
I was determined to finish. Only after a week of giving birth via c section I was back in class because i was told it was “unacceptable that I missed a week of school” Who would’ve known that for the next 15 months I would endure the hardest year of my life??.
Being a mother is hard enough but being a single mother to two kids while being a full time student and living away from family and friends literally having no physical support is a different type of hard. I did it all by myself I woke up at 5 AM to get my kids to daycare as soon as the doors opened to be at the hospital for rotations at 7 AM everyday and still being responsible for online work. I honestly thought dropping out would be the best choice for me, but I knew I couldn’t let my kids down and I was only giving the devil what he wanted. I knew I would not only disappoint myself but everyone who was rooting for me. I worked so hard y’all , it was times I cried myself to sleep and asked God why was I alone.
Why was I raising two kids alone with no family or friends here to support me while trying to put myself through school But he had a plan for me, and WE made it! I persisted , I finished. Steven Jones, a British ex-pat who lived in New York reportedly killed his American wife and 12-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself.
The 46-year-old man had, a day before the double murder-suicide incident, sent an email to a family friend of more than 40 years, Kenneth Petch, apologizing for creating ‘such chaos’.
He also asked for the email to be relayed to his parents, Roy and Rita.
It read:
“Hi mum and dad, this is Steve. I do this to protect Emma. It’s taken me 18 years, but I realise that I have wandered down the wrong path with the wrong person and that I have been manipulated for too long.
“I cannot bear the thought of this happening to a special 12-year-old, and if I don’t intervene, she will be left to the wolves all alone.
“You were wonderful parents, none of this is your fault or could have been prevented. I’m sorry to produce such chaos, but hopefully, there are good memories too.
“I remember many happy times during our visits. You always made us feel welcome and loved. Please focus on the good times, there were truly many good times.
“I do this to protect Emma. Love Steve.”
The electrical engineer was found dead a day after on December 14, 2018, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. Steven’s corpse was found, after New York Police officers carried out a welfare check at his family address in Ballston Spa, following his employers, GlobalFoundries’ concern that he had not turned up for work.
His wife, Jennifer, and their daughter Emma were both discovered dead in separate upstairs bedrooms, with multiple gunshot wounds.
Though Jones’s parents told an inquest that their son was a “family man” and they were not aware of him going through any “financial, health or marital difficulties“, investigators reached the conclusion that the 46-year-old man had murdered his family members before turning the gun on himself as there were no “suspicious circumstances” surrounding his death.
It was further learnt that parents of the deceased received a Christmas card, calendar and selection of five photos of Jones’ family looking happy together, a few days after news of the deaths was broken to them.
A student of Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo state, has died shortly after his release after spending two months in EFCC custody.
The 22-year-old Austin Isaiah was allegedly arrested for something he “knew nothing about”. He was detained for two months before being released after he fell sick in custody, friends said on Facebook.
Upon his release, he died on Monday, July 22, due to ill health.
Austin’s friends have taken to Facebook to mourn him while calling out EFCC for his “wrongful arrest”.

Four internet fraudsters arraigned before Justice Muawiyah Baba Idris of Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) High Court, Nyanya, Abuja, have all bagged jail sentences.
While Tosan Ogbe, Onajite Tosan Ejivwo, Abdulmumin Saidu were arraigned on one count charge bordering on fraudulent inducement, Karo Ijire faced a three-count charge, bordering on fraudulent inducement, cheating and impersonation.
Ogbe, Ejivwo and Saidu were sentenced to prison based on the plea agreement their lawyers had with the EFCC, after pleading guilty to the one count charge.
Ijire on the other hand, also pleaded guilty to the three count charge against him. The prosecution led by J. Saidu and Maryam Ahmed Aminu informed the court of a plea bargain agreement between them, and urged the court to convict the defendant in accordance with it.
A lady was unladylike as she was highly abusive to her boyfriend on a plane and even went as far as hitting him on the head with a laptop because he looked at other women.

The couple was eventually sent out of the plane and as they walked down the aisle, the woman hit the man on the head with a laptop then started pounding him with her fists.
Tragedy was averted at the domestic wing of Lagos airport as an Air Peace airplane crash landed.
According to the victim who narrated the ordeal, the experience with Airpeace was a terrible one.

Shatta Wale made this hilarious revelation in an interview he granted concerning his feature on Beyoncé’s album.
Shatta Wale admitted the feature on Beyonce’s album has propelled his career immensely.
He disclosed that he had received several call regarding international projects ever since he was featured on Beyoncé’s album.
Going into details as to how the feature has helped his music career he said;

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Femi Falana, has said his chambers is not holding brief for Mr Timi and Mrs Busola Dakolo.
The human rights lawyer noted that he only intervened when the family expressed fear over their petition.
Falana clarified his position in the matter in a text message to The PUNCH on Tuesday.
Our correspondent had reported that the lawyer said the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had ordered the transfer of the case between the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo, and the Dakokos to Lagos.
He said this was because the Dakolos were the first to submit a petition to the police over the rape allegation against Fatoyinbo.
He said the IG also asked that the petitions of the two parties be consolidated.
