Police offer £20,000 reward for information on the murder of one 16-year-old John Ogunjobi in London

Detectives who are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old, John Ogunjobi in Tulse Hill are renewing appeals for assistance in finding those responsible for his death.

A reward of up to £20,000 is available for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder.

Officers are also asking anyone who may have seen a black Audi Q5 in or around the Tulse Hill area at the time of the incident to come forward and speak to police.

John Ogunjobi

Police were called to Greenleaf Close, Tulse Hill at 22.53hrs on 5 November 2018. Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service (LAS), found 16-year-old John Ogunjobi collapsed in the street with stab injuries.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 23:41hrs. A post-mortem examination at Greenwich Mortuary gave cause of death as a stab wound.

An investigation is underway by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vandenbergh.

DCI Vandenbergh said,

“I am appealing to anyone who has information that could assist this investigation to come forward and speak to police. We believe the victim was attacked by a number of suspects and the altercation would have undoubtedly been witnessed by a number of people.

We are also asking people to think back as to whether they saw a black Audi Q5 on the evening of the murder or in the days leading up to or following it.

I hope that the reward associated with this case will help encourage people who have information, to share what they know. We are still working to establish the circumstances around the attack but believe that several people will have key information that would enable us to get justice for John’s family.

“Moreover, I think it is quite likely that some people who were friends with John will hold vital information that they haven’t shared with police. They should think about his death at such a tragically young age, think about the misery caused to John’s family and maybe think about the reward too – and then make what is surely an easy decision – to come forward and speak with police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4961 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, four men – aged 22, 20, 21 and 23 – were arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to custody at south London police stations. All four men have been released under investigation.

14-year-old girl and her boyfriend arrested for killing her brother (Photos)

A teenager and her boyfriend have been arrested in Taiping, Malaysia on Sunday, for murdering the girl’s brother, who was reported missing on Friday.

The body of the girl’s 16-year-old brother, with slash wounds to his neck and hands, was found wrapped in plastic behind an empty house in Taman Glenview, Kamunting at 12.18pm on Sunday.

Taiping police chief Assistant Commissioner Osman Mamat said the family had lodged a missing person’s report on Friday after the victim did not return home from school.

Following the discovery of the body, police picked up the girl and her 15-year-old boyfriend at 4.25pm today to facilitate investigations.

“Upon questioning, they admitted to the killing.” he said.

Initial investigations revealed that a fight had broke out between the three of them after the victim found a phone belonging to his sister’s boyfriend, in his home.

Murder Weapon

“It was believed that the girl had brought her boyfriend home on the day of the incident but both of them left abruptly after the victim came home.” Mamat said

“When the victim found the handphone, he told the girl’s boyfriend to pick it up himself. A fight was believed to have broke out between them leading to the murder,” he added.

The body has been sent to the Rsja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh for post-mortem.

The convicts are: Michael Edward, Ahunwan Endurance, Ahunwan Frank, Patrick Edos and Esi Harrison.

After the conclusion of investigations, they were charged to court on separate charges for their various involvements in defrauding their victims who were mainly foreigners, using false identities.

Following their guilty plea, counsel for the EFCC, J.O. Aboderin, informed the court of the plea bargain agreement between the prosecution and the defence, and prayed the court to convict and sentence them accordingly.

Subsequently, Edward, Endurance, Frank, and Edos were each convicted on the one-count charge against them, and were sentenced to six months in prison each with an option of fine of N50,000.

Harrison, who expressed remorse for his action said he was forced to the act in order to raise money to pay for his WAEC fees, because his parents could not afford it. He was also convicted on the one-count charge preferred against him, and sentenced to one month in prison with an option of fine of N5,000.

RMD pens emotional letter to his son, Tega as he turns 18

RMD pens emotional letter

Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe Damijo, RMD, has written an emotional letter to his son Tega as he clocks 18.

In the letter, RMD advised his son on how to go about his life and make the right choices as he crosses into manhood.

He also advised him on how to treat a woman and even men whom he must never use his voice to intimidate.

Sharing on social media, RMD wrote:

Dear Son,
Turning 18 is a big deal as it offers you the freedom and liberty to be your own man but you know you’re never really going to be ever free from me right? Oh, just ask your Uncles, big brothers and sister -lol.
I know how confusing the next few years will be for you as you straddle boyhood and manhood at the same time but I hope I have been a good enough father and steered you in the right direction.
I pray for you to be a good man, even when people are not watching, that is INTEGRITY.
I pray that you do deeds that will help others, even if no one knows you did them, that is KINDNESS.
I pray you are quick to share not only what you have, but what you know, that is GENEROSITY.
I pray that you treat everyone as equal, irrespective of their social status, that is RESPECT.
I pray that you remember that every woman is to be treated like they are precious, because they all are, that is BEING A MAN.
I pray that you never use your voice or physical strength to intimidate anyone (male/female), that is REAL STRENGTH.
I pray that you’re not afraid to speak the truth, even as a lone voice, that is CONFIDENCE.
I pray you spend only what you can afford, and not be pressured to live for the gram, that is WISDOM.
I pray that you do not glorify crime, drugs, alcohol abuse and other forms of debauchery just to appear cool and lit, that is UPRIGHTNESS.
More importantly, I pray you remember that you’re God’s son and live in ways to make Him proud.
Son, being 18 gives you the right to make choices but it does not absolve you of consequences so be careful the choices you make.
Here’s to an amazing life ahead of you“.

“I’m appalled at the number of women who have added their voices in the shaming of Busola Dakolo” – Ekiti State’s 1st lady, Bisi Fayemi shares her near-rape experience

First lady of Ekiti State, Bisi Fayemi has said she’s appalled by the number of women who have come out to shame and condemn wife of singer, Timi Dakolo, who not too long ago accused Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly COZA, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, of raping her when she was 17.

Ekiti State's 1st lady

In an article she shared online, Mrs Fayemi says the culture of shaming rape victims and forcing them to silence their pain in Nigeria must stop.

In her own opinion,

“any adult who has a sexual relationship with a girl under the age of 18 is committing statutory rape, there is not such thing as consensual sex with a minor”.

Addressing the backlash Busola has received for speaking about the rape incident 20 years after, Mrs Fayemi wrote,

“Over and over, supporters of the Pastor and some who claimed neutrality kept asking why Busola decided to speak up twenty years after the rape took place. Why is she speaking out now? Why did she not say something at the time? I could not believe some of the things people were saying, including those who ought to know better. Busola Dakolo and her husband Timi received unprecedented support for their bravery, the court of public opinion seems to be in their favour. However, I could not help but wonder how we got to where we are, a society blissfully unaware of the war that has been waged consistently on the bodies of women and girls from one generation to the next. Women don’t talk about what happened to them as girls or as adults because of the implications – shame, stigma, punishment, rejection. I am even more appalled at the number of women who have added their voices in the shaming of Busola. If you cannot say anything to support another woman in pain, say nothing. Keep quiet. If you are a fan of the accused Pastor, support him if you want, but you don’t have to call his accuser names.

Mrs Fayemi went on to share stories of how she was almost abused when she was a child and how her gut as a child and her mother’s immediate stand saved her from being a victim.

When I was ten years old, my mother brought a male teenage relative to live with us to help around the house. His name was Sina. He slept on a mattress on the floor with my younger brother, while I was on the bed with one of my young Aunts. One night, before I fell asleep, I felt my bed covers being pulled. I pulled them back up. It happened again and I did the same thing. The third time, I allowed the covers to be pulled off totally to be sure I was not making a mistake. I sat up and asked Sina what he was doing. He said ‘nothing’. I stayed awake for most of the night. First thing in the morning, I went to tell my mother. She did not yell at me. She did not scream and call me a liar. By the time I got back from school, Sina was gone and we never saw him again. We never had any male relatives live with us after that.

When I was in secondary school and home for the holidays, I was around thirteen at the time, I told my father I wanted to learn how to swim. There was this young man who lived next door, he used to run errands for my father, we called him Brother Lai. My father asked Brother Lai to take me and my Aunt to Airport Hotel, Ikeja, to teach us how to swim. My first swimming lesson was my last. Brother Lai held me from behind, teaching me how to kick my feet under the water, while at the same time pressing himself against me and touching me inappropriately. When I asked him why he was doing that, he asked, ‘Can’t I play with you’? The next day, when he came around for us to go for the next lesson, I refused. I never told my parents what happened, I just mumbled something about not liking water. I was afraid of causing trouble. I did not want Brother Lai to be sent away on my account, the same way Sina was frog marched to the motor park by my mother. I did not want my parents to think I was in some way encouraging these men to be inappropriate towards me. So, I said nothing, and just stayed out of Brother Lai’s way. Brother Lai had never given any indication that he was anything other than a respected older brother figure. I was however literally placed in his hands and he saw an opportunity and took advantage of it. That is what predators do, they wait for opportunities to present themselves and then they abuse trust and innocence. With hindsight, I shudder at the naivety of my trusting parents. I however learnt to appreciate my mother’s response to my claims, it could have gone differently. What if my mother had not believed me? What if Brother Lai had come into our house and I had let him in, and he had proceeded to attack me in my own home?

Pastor Biodun has since stepped down as the senior pastor of COZA. Busola on her part has reported the case to the police.

This Investigation is more complicated than you all think. This is a conspiracy where another Pastor who knows the truth and a member of CAN is appealing to me NOT to reveal the truth. This case may potentially damage three churches. A WARNING to Bloggers that I also gave to newspapers: This story is far from Entertainment. Pastor Adeboye warns of impending plague in Nigeria

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has warned of an impending plague in Nigeria if the shedding of innocent blood in the country continues.

Adeboye said this during the Church’s July Holy Ghost Service held Friday night at the Redemption Camp and broadcast in the church’s parishes in Nigeria and 197 other countries.

During his sermon with the theme: “Swimming in Glory” and subtitled “Born to be great,” the pastor, while speaking on national issues, said too much shedding of innocent blood in a country is likely to lead to a plague

The Cleric further urged the church to continue praying for bloodshed and killings to stop.

“Blood is powerful, blood has a voice and it speaks. When the ground is saturated with the blood of innocent people, the ground speaks.

“Nigerians should pray for the killings to stop before the blood-soaked ground responds.

“When innocent blood is shed it goes into the ground and too much of it makes the ground respond in the form of plagues,” he said.

I am not your friend if you don’t celebrate my husband – Modele Fatoyinbo

While speaking yesterday at COZA in Abuja, wife of embattled Church Founder, Modele Fatoyinbo stated that anyone who does not celebrate her husband is not her friend.

Recall that Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo stepped down as the Senior Pastor of the church last week, days after he denied the rape allegation against him by Busola Dakolo.

Modele Fatoyinbo who spoke at the church’s service on Sunday, maintained that her husband is the “father” of all COZA churches.

“I’m not your friend if you don’t celebrate this man. One of the things that I say about my husband is that I would have never had the opportunity — I used to be so shy to talk to one person. I used to let him do all the talking because I was a very introverted person.

“But he was able to help me see, like he was able to help a lot of us see, that there was greatness in me. So, I don’t have a problem standing before you this morning. The Lagos church, the Ilorin church, the Port Harcourt church — anywhere he is, Pastor Biodun is the father of that church. I’m not your friend if you don’t celebrate this man” she said.
