Over the past couple of years, the Indonesian province of South Sulawesi has been in the news with alarming frequency for viral stories of children getting married, either among themselves or with much older adults.
According to reports, a 41-year-old widower named Rustam Ashary last week married a 13-year-old girl, who has been identified by her initials SW, both of whom are from the Sidrap regency of South Sulawesi.
Rustam met SW on Facebook, and the pair reportedly communicated via the social media platform for three months before deciding to marry.
“We the families gave our blessings to their relationship,” SW’s mother, Nurhayati, told Detik after her child’s marriage, insisting that her daughter was never pressured into marrying Rustam and that they are now happy together.
“She’s still in Grade 1 at an MTs (religious middle school, equivalent to grade 7),” Nurhayati added when asked about her daughter’s schooling.
Photos from Rustam and SW’s wedding day have circulated online, some showing them holding up their marriage certificate, confirming that the union is legally recognized.
The South Sulawesi provincial government say they had no legal jurisdiction to prevent Rustam and SW’s marriage, but now that it has happened they are focusing on ensuring that SW still receives her rights as a child.
“We want to ensure she gets her rights such as to a full education,” South Sulawesi Child Protection Services Head Nur Anti told Detik .
Nur added that the government has urged SW to delay her pregnancy until after she finishes formal schooling, but the reality is that it would be difficult for them to intervene in Rustam and SW’s private lives, whereas, if they weren’t legally married, the 13-year-old would be considered a victim of statutory rape.
The current legal age of marriage in Indonesia is 19 years old for men and 16 years old for women. However, the country’s 1974 Law on Marriage also includes a major loophole to this requirement which allows marriages to still be considered legal if they are done “in accordance” with religious belief, known as nikah siri.
As such, underage marriages that have been sanctified by religious courts or officials must still be officially recognized by the government — if not, many are satisfied with merely fulfilling religious or traditional requirements for marriage.

A Nigerian Lady has made an odd request to God, and this has cracked people up on social media. She made the ‘funny request’ to God in a post that was shared by popular Nigerian relationship expert, Joro Olomofin.
In an era where cheating abounds, it’s often believed that men who are broke find it hard to cheat because obviously it takes a heavy pocket to get a woman dancing to their groove.
As a result, this lady whose identity was not revealed by Joro believes that if her man is poverty-stricken, she won’t think of jumping from one woman to the other because most men cheat because they have the money.
“God please let my husband be so broke so he won’t have money to cheat and he will love me and cherish me. Let me be the head of the family in terms of money. When he is broke side chick won’t want him. I pray this for myself and all ladies reading this in Jesus name Amen. We ladies deserve peace. This is the only solution. Take a man’s money away he will be a loyal husband. Every lady reading this. I wish this for you all. Happiness. Amen.”

The 32-year-old woman, who stole a three-day-old baby in Plateau Specialist Hospital, Jos said she was driven into committing the crime by desire to have a child, who would call her mother after seven years of marriage.
Mrs. Leritshimwa Diyal, a student of College of Health Technology, Zawan, in Plateau, made the confession while speaking with newsmen when she was paraded by the Plateau Police Command on Thursday in Jos.
Recall that the baby belonging to one Mrs. Mary Chukwuebuka was stolen three days after birth at the Plateau Specialist Hospital. The baby has since been handed over to the biological parents.
Diyal, before her arrest, had claimed that she gave birth at a kidnappers’ den. She also claimed that she registered for antenatal care at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
“I have been married for over seven years without a child; the desire to have one pushed me into stealing another woman’s child. My husband and I have sought for medical attention to ascertain the reason for our childlessness, but to no avail. I have contacted many orphanages to adopt a child, but none granted me the opportunity, that is why I resorted to stealing. I regret this desperation. I wasn’t thinking straight when I stole the baby. I plead that justice be tempered with mercy,” she pleaded.
Diyal also told journalists that she carried out the act without the knowledge of her husband.
Briefing newsmen, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Isaac Akinmoyede, attributed the timely arrest of Diyal to the “painstaking and diligent investigation” by his officers and men.
He explained that Diyal perfected her plans and leveraged on her deep knowledge of the terrain of the hospital, where she once undertook her industrial attachment, to steal the baby.
Akinmoyede said that she had faked her kidnap story thinking it would give her a strong alibi to have the baby, but that when she was confronted with realities, she confessed to stealing the baby.
“Currently, the command is investigating her claim that she committed the crime alone,” Akinmoyede said, stressing that the case would be charged to court immediately the investigation was concluded.

As more people continue to use popular agricultural pesticide, Sniper to commit suicide in the country, the National Food, Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) has ordered agro-dealers to withdraw the product from open markets and supermarkets.
NAFDAC’s Director, Veterinary Medicine and Allied Products Directorate, Dr. Bukar Usman, disclosed this on Wednesday at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.
Usman, speaking during the launch of a new herbicide for cassava farmers, “Lifeline”, by UPL, Sprinfield Agro and IITA, said that the agency had asked agro-dealers to stop the sale of the product in open markets and supermarkets.
According to him, sniper is an agro-cultural product meant to be used only in the farms and not for households.
He urged manufacturers and dealers to cooperate with NAFDAC to mop up the 100ml size of the product which were cheap and easily acquired.
He maintained that the directive was not an outright ban of the product but a restriction of its use and availability to farms alone, adding all agro-chemicals meant for farms should not be used in households.
“There are appropriate products for the control of mosquitoes and other household pests” he pointed out.
A 300-Level Medical Laboratory student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Christabel was yesterday evening discovered dead in her hostel room at Newton Street, Ekosodin area of Benin City, after allegedly taking some deadly substance to end her life.
The details of the incident were still sketchy as at press time yesterday but according to eyewitnesses, she mixed the deadly insecticide popularly called Snipper with a Sprite drink and reportedly left a suicide note where she stated that she was about taking her life because the guy she loved didn’t love her in return after her boyfriend broke up with her.
But another witness who confirmed the incident said an empty sachet of Klin detergent was found on the spot where her body laid.
Meanwhile, in a social media post by Uniben Metro, it was reported that the suicide note, which is already in custody of the police at Ugbowo police station, was addressed to two persons, names withheld and the two persons have been invited to the police station for questioning.
The post claimed the suicide was not due to relationship problems between the deceased and her boyfriend but rather personal unresolved issues between the two persons the letter was addressed to.
“The letter didn’t state what happened between the two mentioned persons, reason the police have invited them to unravel the reasons behind the deceased’s action,” the post stated.

How is that even possible? He gave account of how he did it and one would have thought it’s a big deal but it is simple and easy.
First step; He uncovered 4 reliable and trustworthy tipsters from Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary and Australia. He made use of the tips supplied from them daily. Average of 100% return on capital monthly was achieved.
The journey to uncovering the trusted tipsters took him 4years of falling into the hands of scammers. So many stories but I have to cut short to save us time.
Secondly step;Adetunji sees football betting from a different perspective unlike many others sees it. The reason he called his approach FOOTBALL TRADING and not football betting. He follows a laid down plan. Only 2% of people around the globe into football betting know about this secret approach.
N200,000 starting capital
It will wow you to know it was 200k he turned to 11.2million naira in 6 months. He funded his betting account with 200k and subscribed to start receiving games from his trusted tipsters. The strategy is to stake N10,000 only or each game given daily for start (5% of capital on each game given.)
11.2Million in 6 months is the figure
Click Here=> http://bit.ly/dpopt , to subscribe to Adetunji’s inner circle and you will see the breakdown of the process. He doesn’t gamble but follow a laid down rule. He use5% of his capital and later reduced it down to as low as using 3% of his capital to stake each game from 6th month. He trusted his tipsters (Belgian, Hungarian, Bulgarian and Australian) and strictly use his games.
He confessed that there are times that the tipster does have bad days. He recalled a certain bad month but having come a long way to trust them, he always keeps calm, think of long-term benefits and hope for the best. And overall, it’s been fantastic.
This whole thing might look complex especially to those who are not used to football betting already. But it isn’t once you learn from him right here=> http://bit.ly/dpopt . Even someone who hasn’t done anything related to football betting before can implement this. Even if you don’t know who C. Ronaldo or Mourinho is.
I have told ADETUNJI to give more detailed explanation of the steps and processes involved, including sharing the games of his trusted Tipsters. If you want that, Great! It means you can replicate his success.
Below is this Guy in the little world of his own. He’s a car freak. He vowed to me that his target for 2019 from football trading is 40 Million.

There’s a trending video of a mother who surprised her son on his birthday, in his school.
The video has been making rounds on Social media, and has earned the accolades of many, while others condemned the act.
Apparently, the mother employed the service of a saxophonist to sing a birthday song to the boy… She also had fireworks on his cake.
The boy who was surprised by this act opened his mouth in disbelief as the saxophonist made his way into the boy’s class, and a cake was brought in, while the teacher was teaching.
Even his classmates were shocked beyond words. They showed their astonishment on their faces.
@isemede_f: Nonsense. If every parent does this what time would be left to learn. It’s class time for the kids sake. Do this during break or do it at home
@_necheeee: Imagine if she came to school and he is serving punishment.
@mienz_06: Why not use that money to get him a school uniform…. Wasted priority ??
@joy_iyamu: The teacher jappaaaa as balloon burst ???? seriously, this surprise thing is becoming boring.how can the mom interrupt a class like that???
@flexbent: His coming back home anyways why disrupt the whole class… Or better still wait and surprise him at closing time. Bad mother if he fail now she wud beat nonsense out of him
@sysavanemuhammed: Can people please take their nonsensical need for Internet validation out of children’s learning environment… Please, thank you
@rhefentze: Why isn’t he in school uniform thou or rather y is he not wearing da same clothes as other kids?
@bestbagng: This is the reason most schools don’t tolerate Birthday effects. Those kids who’s parents are not available will be affected in some way. Also this is a major distraction. Happy birthday young man???.
@dejideyemi: I paid exorbitant amountas school feesand my ward Is being distracted this way. That school will burn.
@krs_tyana: All of you shouting distraction, please is it a day surprise.. how many minutes does this take. You all have issues.
