21 year old Michael, and 19 year old Paul, were found lying dead on Tuesday morning, May 21st, 2019 at their shop at Ojota in Lagos state.
According to multiple reports, they died as a result of inhaling generator fumes while passing the night at their shop.
Michael and Paul are both siblings, and they are known to sleep in their shop in Ojota.
According to details made available, they are usually among the first to open their shop everyday.
On Tuesday, neighbors were expecting the duo to open their shop in their usual way, but there was a delay.
A concerned neighbor who was worried something might have happened, dialed their numbers, only to hear the phones ring inside the ‘closed shop’.
At this point, the neighbour got worried and raised alarm, causing people to gather and forcefully break into the shop.
The brothers were seen lying lifeless with a white substance around their mouth and head.
At first, suicide was suspected but preliminary police investigations determined that they were choked with the carbon monoxide from a running generating set inside the shop, Guardian Nigeria reports.
The neighbour who discovered them dismissed reports of carbon monoxide poisoning and pointed out that he suspected foul play.
He told the publication: “This is not the first time they are using this generator though it is quite new. The generator supplies light to the whole house and we usually put it on when there is no power, which is almost every day. More investigations should be carried out because we are suspecting there is more to this than meets the eye. How can two whole human beings just go like that in one day? We need more light on this.”

20th May I decided to go to Owerri to do the HIV test in case I was positive so nobody will know me. in fact I didn’t use my real name when filling the HIV form.
After the long discussion the counselor will give, then it was time to Carry out the test.
My hands and feets were shaking. the counselor noticed and he said even if you have it there are ARVs for you to live healthy (I was like God just forgive me, I know I have failed)
As soon as he took my blood, I stood up wrote my number on a shot of paper and said Sir please send the result to me via sms, he was just staring at me while I left.
I left and went to a bar sitting and waiting for the result via sms
After 20mins I got a test. my heart was beating when I opened it what I saw was “Your HIV test result says you are negative, always protect yourself but remember abstinence is the best”.
I was so happy but I Needed to confirm it again, so I returned back to Awka that same day.
Today being 22nd May 2019, I went to Medical Center Amaku to confirm.
I went in after every every I was confirmed negative. happiness from no where came over me.
As I was leaving I looked towards the special clinic and saw crowd of HIV positive persons waiting to get ARVs, and I was like what if I had tested positive is this how I will disgrace myself and my family.
I opened a trend previously asking if HIV persons can join the military. This is because my uncle is making sure I join the Nigeria Prison service. I would have been disgraced if I tasted positive.

A boy who hails from Uganda has become an internet sensation and it’s all thanks to his skin pigmentation. According to reports accompanied with his photos, his mother abandoned him with his grandma because of his condition.
The little boy is said to have “Waardenburg Syndrome” and not witchcraft as some people have poised him to be. He also can’t speak.
Waardenburg syndrome is a group of genetic conditions that can cause hearing loss and changes in coloring (pigmentation) of the hair, skin, and eyes. Although most people with Waardenburg syndrome have normal hearing, moderate to profound hearing loss can occur in one or both ears.

A Lagos High Court in Igbosere on Tuesday, sentenced a 25-year-old houseboy, Leudjou Koyemen Joel (aka William Smith) to death by hanging for killing his employer.
He murdered Dayo Enioluwa Adeleke, the daughter of the late Brig.-Gen. Adekola Alfred Adeleke, on December 20, 2016.
Justice Adedayo Akintoye convicted Joel, after a nearly two-year trial which followed his not guilty plea to a one-count charge of murder, The Nation reports.
The defendant, a refugee from Cameroon, had testified that Adeleke mistakenly stabbed herself after she fell while pursuing him with a kitchen knife.
Justice Akintoye held: “All the evidence points to the defendant. I find merit in the prosecution’s case.”
The police, on December 30, 2016, brought Joel before Chief Magistrate Oluyemisi Adelaja of an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Following his remand, the case was transferred to the High Court where Joel was arraigned on January 19, 2017 on a one-count charge of murder, in accordance with Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Mr. Kazeem Adeniji (SAN) told Justice Akintoye that the defendant committed the offence on December 20 at about 9:30pm.
He said on that day, Joel asked for a two-week salary advance, but the late Adeleke turned him down.
Later that day (at night), shortly after Adeleke returned from work, Joel repeated his demand. Again, she declined.
He got angry and stabbed Adeleke in the neck and heart.
He was apprehended at the gate of the deceased’s Park View Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos while attempting to flee.
The court heard that the victim was found lying on the floor of her living room in a pool of blood. A kitchen knife was found stuck in the left side of her chest. She was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital on Lagos Island, where a doctor confirmed her dead.
Adeleke was killed seven months after Joel was employed and three months after her engagement to her fiancé. Joel, who opened his defence on November 21, 2018, denied killing Adeleke. He spoke through a French translator.
Led in evidence by his counsel, Mr. C. Acnonye, he confirmed that before the incident, he approached his boss twice to pay him part of his salary as his child was ill in Cameroon and he needed money for hospital bills.
He said the first time he asked for part payment of his salary was on December 16, the second time was December 18, two days before Adeleke was killed.
He stated that on the day of the incident, after cleaning her apartment, he knelt and pleaded with her to give him a loan, “but she became upset and started shouting and screaming at me. So I thought it was the situation in her office that was making her to shout.”
He told Justice Akintoye that Adeleke suddenly stood up and began to speak a language he did not understand.
The defendant claimed that his employer pushed him and he fell. She started beating him on his head, so he closed his eyes.
He said,
“I was perceiving smell of alcohol. When I opened my eyes, I saw her with a knife, then I tried to run away. But she was rushing towards me.
“When I got to the entrance door, I noticed that she was no longer running after me but kept screaming. When I turned, I saw that she fell on the floor, with the knife in her chest.”

A Nigerian man has come under serious fire for pulling off a suicide prank on Facebook – the said man, identified as ItzElderzne announced he was taking his life yesterday in several posts.
Moments later, one of his friends shared a photo of what looks to be like his dead body.
As people mourned him, he then updated his Facebook page, revealing that it was just a prank to give a message to those contemplating suicide and tell them it is a selfish thing to do.
His Elder brother who says he was scared to the extent he quickly had to call home to confirm the viral news wrote;

In light of the arrest and arraignment of Nigerian singer, Naira Marley on allegations of fraud and cybercrime, Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola has appealed to Nigerians to desist from justifying the cyber crime.

The Federal Government has hinted on its plans to establish a policy that will remove the ownership of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (cooking gas) cylinders from consumers.
The FG stated that the move would help deepen the use of LPG, popularly known as cooking gas, stating that the government had reached an agreement with two original cylinder manufacturers to deliver 600,000 cylinders to LPG distributors on credit, with a pre-payment period of 18 months.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ forum on LPG penetration in Abuja on Tuesday, the Senior Technical Assistant to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources on Downstream and Infrastructure, Brenda Ataga, noted that the planned policy on gas cylinders would require that the ownership of the facility “rests strictly on the dealers and distributors.”
She noted that aside from deepening the penetration and usage of LPG across the country, the policy would also address issues of safety.
She said the Federal Government would soon commence a clampdown on illegal roadside LPG dealers and urged operators to immediately convert their outlets to micro distribution centres before the beginning of the enforcement.
“The MDCs will essentially create and introduce into the market what we call the cylinder exchange programme, whereby the cylinders are owned by the distributors,” Ataga said. She told operators, “There is no need for you to decant for anybody that comes in, and that eliminates illegal risks as well. You would fill them at the refill plants that would be tied to you and exchange it with your customers because you know your customers already. “Your customers pay for only the content, while you own the cylinders and control the management of those cylinders.”
Providing reasons for the policy, Ataga said;
“It is for us to be able to, at any point in time, discern and discover cylinders that are bad, cylinders that need recertification and cylinders that need to be removed from circulation.
“We put that onus on distributors going forward, to support the safe and standard method of selling LPG. I tell you today that Nigeria is the only country in West Africa that does not practice the re-circulation model. Everyone has moved away from this because again, most of the population cannot afford cylinders; so, you have to remove that cost from them.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, has secured the conviction of one Adebunmi Raheem Adisa.
Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court, sitting in Ibadan, on Monday, convicted and sentenced Adisa to eight months in prison.
The convict, who was earlier arraigned on May 22, 2018 before Justice Munta Abimbola, the Oyo State Chief Judge and presiding jurist in Court 1, was originally facing nine-count offences that border on obtaining money by false pretense and forgery.
The offence is contrary to section 1(2) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related (Offences) Act, 2006 and Punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act, while the latter contravenes Section 467 of the Criminal Code.
Due to the exigencies of time, his case was transferred to Justice Akintola’s Court 9, where he was eventually convicted. Before the Monday session, Adisa had approached the prosecution for a plea bargain.
The request was granted and the two sides settled for a re-arraignment on a one-count amended charge upon which he was jailed. As part of the conditions for the acceptance of the plea bargain, the convict has restituted to the victim of his fraud the sum of N1,405,000 (One Million Four Hundred and Five Thousand Naira).
An inconsolable mother broke down during her testimony on Monday at the death penalty trial of her ex-husband who is charged with killing their five young children.
According to a report by Daily mail, as part of her testimony, Amber Kyzer, read a letter she wrote to her oldest child, Merah Jones, who she had tried to comfort over the divorce and the pain of suddenly being in a broken home.
‘You kids are my world and Mommy and Daddy were really blessed to have you’ Kyzer said, pausing, then burying her head in her hands on the witness stand and breaking into heaving sobs.
‘Oh god. Oh god. My babies. My babies,’ Kyzer cried as the judge rushed to get the jury out of the courtroom. Kyzer’s ex-husband on trial for his life, Timothy Jones Jr, stood up and looked at her, but showed no emotion.
Kyzer testified in the sixth day of Jones’ death penalty trial. Jones, 37, who is charged with five counts of murder, has plead guilty by reason of insanity.
His lawyers don’t dispute that he killed the children, but they are trying to have him found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Prosecutors said he killed six-year-old Nahtahn in a rage after finding the boy, fascinated by electricity, had broken an outlet in their home near Lexington in August 2014.
Jones then strangled eight-year-old Merah and seven-year-old Elias with his hands and two-year-old Gabriel and one-year-old Abigail with a belt, prosecutors said.
After killing the children, authorities said Jones wrapped their bodies in plastic and put them in his SUV, driving aimlessly around the Southeast US for most of nine days before leaving their bodies on a hilltop in Camden, Alabama.
Jones was arrested at a Smith County, Mississippi, traffic checkpoint, where an officer testified he recognized a strong odor coming from the car he recognized as ‘the smell of death’.
