A Nigerian national was killed while seven others were arrested following an operation launched on Thursday by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against a catfishing or “love scam” syndicate in Imus, Cavite.
The suspects are identified as Kenneth Chuku, Ikenna Dickson Okalla, Chukwuma George Adible, Chiboy Stanley Agbasy, Dim Remedios, Abas Kashmir, and Uba Living.
The slain suspect was identified as Orisakwe Ifeanyi Emmanuel, The Inquirer.net reports.
The NBI anti-cybercrime agents swooped down on the suspects’ hideout on Thursday and discovered the alleged cybercrime activities of the syndicate involved in victimizing people online.
The NBI said during the apprehension, one suspect, Orisakwe, grabbed a pistol and attempted to shoot at the operatives but was subdued. However, after his pistol fell, Orisakwe turned and grabbed a hand grenade, prompting the agents to fire at him.
Orisakwe was brought to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival, the NBI said.

A new shocking video that has since gone viral, shows the moment family members, loved ones and guests of a deceased’s burial were left in disbelief when the casket with the remains of the dead inside, fell out.
The dancing pallbearers at the funeral lost their balance and grip of the casket with the corpse inside while grooving to a song.
The video shows the corpse then falling off of the casket after the dancing pallbearers lost their hold of the casket – family members and guests can be then heard exclaiming in shock.

The fattest child in the world who weighs 31 stone at just ten years old will undergo weight loss surgery in a bid to save his life.
Ten-year-old Mohammed Arbrar, from Pakistan, struggles to stand after regularly eating meals meant to feed four adults.
Arbrar was just 8lb at birth, but he began gaining weight rapidly – tipping the scales at three stone when he was just six months old.
His doctors say he is the fattest boy in the world, weighing even more than Indonesian Arya Permana, who hit the headlines for weighing 29 stone aged ten, three years ago.
His parents, who have two other healthy children, said Mohammed was perpetually hungry as an infant and would drink five times as much milk as his elder siblings.
He was so heavy that his mother Zareena could not change his nappies alone and had to get a specially-made bed to take his weight. With his massive frame, even basic activities like walking and sitting are an uphill task for the pre-teen boy.
Despite having three siblings, an older brother and a sister and one younger sister, Mohammed cannot play with them.
He has never been to school because he cannot take more than three steps at a time.
But now, his parents are hopeful that Mohammed could be a normal weight after the country’s best-known bariatric surgeon, Dr Maaz ul Hassan, agreed to perform a life-saving operation.
Abrar will undergo a laparoscopic sleeve surgery in which the outer margin of the stomach is removed to restrict food intake on Friday.
The surgery is expected to last for an hour, and after the operation, Mohammed will be fed a liquid diet of buttermilk, chicken broth, and fruit juice.

A civil servant working with the Delta State Ministry of Finance, Comrade Benson Efeotor, returned an excess of N53 million erroneously paid him as salary, and he was rewarded for his honesty.
He was gifted with a Brand New GAC Car Courtesy of the Delta State Government.
Comrade Efeotor returned to the state government, the sum of fifty three million, one hundred and twenty one thousand, six hundred and fifty naira erroneously paid into his Zenith Bank account recently.
Comrade Efeotor, who doubles as the Delta State Chairman of the Nigerian Civil Servants Union, spoke at the 2019 May Celebration held in Asaba.
Comrade Efeotor said, “I returned the money because I don’t have such money in my bank account.”
He said when he saw the money in his back account; he informed the relevant government officials, who gave him the appropriate government account to pay the money back into.
While noting that he has not been appreciated for returning the money, Comrade Edeotor who is an Okpara-Inland Community in Ethiope-East Local Government Area said, “I have satisfied my conscience and I am okay with that.”
He said anyone who will say he was wrong for returning the money to the government is a “thief.”
“You don’t collect what does not belong to you. I am working for my salary. If I collect the money, that’s criminal.”
Reacting to the development, the Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa said he has rewarded Comrade Benson Efeotor with a GS 3 saloon car for the show of good example.
He said, “That’s the Nigerian worker that we must recognize. Such person will lead the Union aright.
Nollywood actor, Mike Godson has been slammed by Tonto Dikeh’s fan after he threw shade at the actress, calling him a woman beater.
The actor didn’t mention her name but in light of the situation, it is easy to deduce he was talking about her.

The South-east Zonal Office of EFCC, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, arrested 37 suspected internet fraudsters in Owerri, Imo State. The arrest followed a raid on some targeted residences in Okwu Urata, Aladinma and Egbu areas.
The Commission’s action followed intelligence report which pointed that the suspects were living lavish lifestyles without any known means of livelihood, alleging further that they specialize in defrauding unsuspecting victims, through the internet.
In the course of executing the search warrants, items which included laptop computers, 25 five exotic cars, which includeseveral brands of Mercedez-Benz, Lexus,Toyota and expensive mobile phones, were recovered.
Speaking on the development, the ZonalHead, Usman Imam, who said the exercise was in line with the Commission’s mandate decried the high rate of cybercrime in the zone which he blamed on the erosion and breakdown of country’s values.
“It is true that no society has been able to totally eradicate crime, but we are ready at least to reduce it to the barest minimum and it appears that this cybercrime is one of the challenges of our time, which the EFCC is willing to face drastically,” Imam said.
Questioning the lifestyle of the suspects, Iman said; “What is the business of a university student, a new graduate or youth corper looking for money to buy a car of N10 million? Obviously, this is rushing life and a collapse of our positive value system where people rarely want to start from a humble beginning,” Imam added.
Usman lamented that if nothing was done, the country’s leadership could be jeopardized as many youths involved in cybercrimes are expected to take up leadership positions in the future.
The suspects who volunteered their statements under caution will be charged to court as soon investigations into the matter are concluded.

31-year-old Blessing Rapuruchukwu Okafor had been arrested with 74 capsules of cocaine at the Canova airport in Trevisto, Italy.
She is said to be among the immigrants that earlier entered Italy through Libya using the Mediterranean Sea. Okafor had been taken to the hospital to excrete the ingested cocaine.
However when taken to the toilet, she tried killing the officer monitoring her. According to the police, the suspect snatched the gun from the officer’s holster and tried to shoot it, but it was on safety and didn’t fire.
The police officer then wrestled the gun from her with the help of other security agents.

Pastor Giwa has lashed out at Pastors buying private jets, saying they won’t make heaven as they are working for God but for themselves.
The Senior Pastor of the Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Gospel Church, who spoke on Friday, urged the affected Pastors to “carefully read Matthew chapter 19:16-27″. Pastor Giwa who warned that Pastors buying private jets won’t make heaven, said in his statement;
“The truth is that, they know they are buying jets to compete with one another. Our God is not a God of convenience, but a God of commitment. Jesus Christ did not teach us to be using jets to preach the gospel.
“Any pastor or religious leader who fails to do according to the teachings of Jesus Christ cannot make heaven, I am sure they know this.

Estranged husband of Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, Olakunle Churchill has refuted claims that he granted a recent interview that probably could have triggered her recent outburst.
In her interview with Daddy Freeze, Tonto claimed that Churchill granted an interview recently where he said so many lies about their marriage and she needed to clear the air.

This is coming after reports surfaced yesterday that her brother, lawrence assaulted a police officer in Delta state.
A video later surfaced which showed the brother in a struggle with other police officers who were drafted to quell the situation.
The video which was shared on social media saw many Nigerians making comments which didn’t sit well with Regina Daniels.

Etinosa has defended Bobrisky and also slammed Charles Awurum who earlier called out Nollywood producers and directors for giving the cross dresser a spot in Nigerian movies.

A Tanzanian policeman has reportedly sued his friend, for failing to impregnate his wife after trying for 77 times.
Darius Makambako, 50 and his Precious, 45 who wanted to have a child chose another way, after they were told by a renowned doctor that the man was sterile. The Tanzanian policeman who alongside his wife was tired of being in a 6 years childless marriage, chose his neighbor Evans Mastano, 52 a fellow police officer to impregnate his wife.
Makambako who is a member of Tanzanian police force (Traffic department), paid Mastano 2, 000, 000 Tanzanian Shillings for the job for three evenings a week for the next 10 months. However he failed to fulfill the task after 77 times. It was further gathered that Evans was also pronounced sterile by doctors. The doctor’s pronouncement that Evans Mastano was also sterile shocked everyone except his wife, who was forced to confess that Evans was not the real father of her two children, but his cousin Edward.
The Tanzanian policeman who now sued his friend for failing to impregnate his wife after trying for 77 times, accused Evans of breach of Contract in an effort to get his money back. It was further gathered that Evans refused to give it back, because he said he did not guarantee conception.
