We won’t accept anything less than N30,000 Minimum wage from governors — NLC
NLC president, Ayuba Wabba, has stated that Nigerian workers would not accept anything less than the N30,000 minimum wage from state governors.
Wabba said this at the NLC delegate conference in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Thursday April 25th.
Speaking at the conference, Wabba whose speech was read by an ex-officio of the congress, Maureen Onyia-Ekwuazi, said the new minimum wage has become binding, having been signed into law by President Buhari. He stressed that the Congress would not take anything short of N30,000 as minimum wage from state governors since it has become a right.
“Once the minimum wage bill had been signed by President Buhari, it has become a law and we won’t allow any governor to circumvent the law. What we asked for was a living wage and we can’t allow anybody to shortchange our members,” he said.
This is coming after the President Buhari signed the bill for the new minimum wage into law last week. Some Governors have expressed worries of not being able to pay the new minimum wage.

How botched lip filler procedure distorted a woman’s lips (Photos)
A quite lovely looking mother decided to get lip fillers on her already perfect lip but the outcome of the procedure was so horrible that her friend puked upon seeing it.
29-year-old Christina Burton was left with horrific “sausage lips” and had to be rushed to hospital after her lips continued to swell and made her unable to breathe properly.
The mum-of-two used numbing cream before the £75 procedure was administered at her home in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. The beautician reportedly reassured her that swelling was normal but hours after having the 1ml of filler, she had to be rushed to hospital to receive adrenaline, oxygen and steroids.
She said she feared she could have died during the botched procedure which she said left her looking like a “duck gone wrong”.
She said,
They looked like sausages on my face, I looked like a duck gone wrong.
My lips kept getting bigger and bigger and more painful. I thought my lips were going to explode, the pain was unreal.
I couldn’t swallow anything. I tried taking antihistamines and painkillers to help with the swelling and I had an ice lolly to keep them cool but they just got out of control.
As soon as they put the cream on I just knew something wasn’t right, my lips were tingling and felt like they were swelling up straight away.
When you have numbing cream on it does feel like it’s swollen because it’s numb.
That time I just felt something wasn’t right – my lips were swelling straight away and I was in pain, which I never usually am.
After she left I looked in the mirror and saw they were swollen, my throat was numb and I started struggling to swallow.
The swelling was that bad it went up into my nose and it closed my throat and nose. I was struggling to breathe.
When it got to that point I had to phone an ambulance.
An ambulance crew raced to her home and they gave her adrenaline and put her on oxygen and rushed her to Wythenshawe Hospital, where staff gave her steroids and drugs and kept her in overnight for monitoring.
She added,
“The hospital nurses couldn’t believe how badly swollen my lips and the skin between my nose and lips were.
“The pain felt like they were going to explode, it felt like when something has its own pulse.
“I couldn’t open my mouth because my lips were that heavy, it was scary.”
The stay-at-home mum says her friends were in shock when she sent them photos of her new lips and one friend even threw up in shock.
Christina had the botched lip filler procedure done in September and her lips are now back to normal. But she has urged people to do their research before they undergo cosmetic procedures.
Singer, Simi speaks on snubbing Naira Marley for supporting Yahoo boys
Nigerian singer, Simi has reacted to a claim by Naira Marley who stated that she snubbed him when they met at an event simply because of his support for Yahoo boys.
Naira Marley made the claim just days after she discouraged the support for Yahoo boys whom she say are giving the country a bad name abroad.
Claiming the singer snubbed him at an event, Naira Marley shared,

Emmanuel Adebayor Reveals How He Nearly Committed Suicide Due To Family Pressure
Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed he contemplated suicide while he struggled to deal with the pressure of making it as a professional footballer.
Adebayor, 35, says he was under so much strain when he was trying to make the grade as a player in France he started to plan to end his own life.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City star admits the expectation of people back home in Togo was getting too much for him to deal with as a 16-year-old playing for Metz.
Speaking to the Mail, Adebayor said: “I was 16. All I wanted to do was help my family out but they put huge pressure on me. I could not cope with it.
“When a family is poor, everyone is poor and there is huge solidarity. People will take a bullet for you. But when one makes it, it is like you owe everyone.
“At Metz I was on maybe £3,000 a month. My family asked for a house worth £500,000. The club were tired of me because of my behaviour.
“I remember sitting on my bed one night and thinking ‘What am I doing here? Nobody’s happy with me, so what is the point of living?’ “There was a pharmacy below my apartment, I bought packet after packet of tablets.
“They did not want to sell it to me but I said it was for a charity in Togo. I made the preparations, I drank all the water. I was ready to go.“Then I called my best friend at midnight. He told me not to rush, that I have things to live for.
“‘You have the potential to change Africa. I thought ‘You are a dream-seller and I am not buying any dreams right now.’
“But he took me out of the moment. I thought God must be keeping for something.”
Adebayor went on to enjoy a successful career at club and international level, also enjoying spells with Monaco, Tottenham, Real Madrid and Crystal Palace.
Diamond Platnumz was stupid to say I slept with his ex-wife Zari – Peter Okoye
Peter Okoye who reacted to allegations by Diamond Platnumz that he slept with his ex-wife Zari, has stated the Tanzanian singer was stupid to have said so.
Recall, Platnumz who spoke during an interview on Tuesday on his Wasafi Radio, said; “Zari was dating P-Square’s Peter a few months before she and I got our first baby, Latiffah Dangote. I read messages that she and Peter sent each other via mobile phone. I even confronted her.” The Tanzanian singer also claimed that Zari also had an affair with her Kenyan personal trainer. According to him, he forgave Zari for the affairs which he knew about, because he was also moving out in the relationship.
However Peter Okoye who stated that Diamond Platnumz was stupid to say that he slept with his ex-wife Zari in an interview at Cool FM, added that he doesn’t want to get distracted. He said;
“To be honest with you, I do not know what they are talking about. I can never, and would never say anything. Please, I have a new single, and I do not want to get distracted. I do not want to comment on Diamond’s allegations. In fact, it is stupid.

Kanye West considers starting his own Church after 50,000 people attended his Sunday Service during Coachella
After thousands of people attended Kanye West’s Sunday Service during Coachella’s second weekend, the rapper is now said to be considering starting his own church.
A source close to West told PEOPLE: “He is extremely passionate about his faith and wants to share it more regularly with people. He spends a lot of time studying and praying, and wants to share his journey.”
The source went on to explain, “Say what you want about Kanye, but he really does want to help people who need support. He understands brokenness and the need for healing, probably more than most people. He believes in the healing powers of music, but also believes that God can step in and heal people’s brokenness and their issues.”
The insider said West has “talked about starting his own church, and what exactly that would be,” adding, “It wouldn’t be the traditional, 3-hymns-and-a-sermon thing. Instead, it would be a way to point people to Jesus through the arts and through a community of people who love and care for each other. He also wants his kids to be raised in faith, and the best way for him to do that is to live out his faith.”
This comes after Coachella production sources told TMZ that 50,000 festival-goers woke up early to see West on Easter Sunday.

Six-year-old Boy found dead inside neighbor’s freezer in Lagos (Video)
The Lagos state police command are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a six-year-old boy, Treasure Akinsohun, whose body was allegedly found inside a freezer of a neighbor in the Ketu, Alapere area of Lagos.
According to reports, Treasure and his mother lived in Ikorodu and had gone to Ketu to celebrate the Easter with his mother’s younger sister. Treasure and the other children in his aunt’s compound were playing when he suddenly disappeared. His body was later found inside a freezer at Orisigun Street, about five streets from where his mother’s younger sister resides.
Narrating how it all happened, his distraught mother, Eunice Akinsohun, said she noticed her son was not among the other children that were playing in the compound, and When she asked for his whereabouts, the other children could not give an answer. She searched around for him but could not find him. She immediately went to Alapare Police Station to report her missing son.
“I also called my husband on the phone to inform him of the development. “Before I got back home, a crowd had gathered at my sister’s house at Alapere to help in the search for my son. Throughout that day we couldn’t locate the exact place where he was. When my husband eventually arrived, he also tried his best with my sister’s husband and some elders in the community. He was still not found. That was how we went to back to Ikorodu that night with tears and anguish.” she told New Telegraph
Eunice said she and her husband were on their way back to Alapere from Ikorodu when they received a phone call that her son had been found in a woman’s freezer at Orisigun Street.
“Immediately I saw the corpse of my son, I fainted. I was later revived at the hospital. “What surprised me was how my son got into a freezer at another Lagos CP, Mu’azu street. I still don’t understand how he got into the freezer as I speak with you. But it is left for the police to investigate.”
Confirming the incident, the Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, said the body of the victim has been deposited in a morgue.
Chinese trader, Mike Zhang receives “Chief” title in Kano State
A Chinese trader, Mike Zhang in Kano State has been turbaned as a chief who now holds the title of Wakilin Yan China” by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
As a chief and leader of the growing Chinese community in the northern state, Zhang’s chieftaincy title comes in a bid to enhance interaction and business with the Chinese people in Kano State.
He will be responsible for the proper management of the Chinese community and he would act as their representative in the Kano royalty in times of need.
The instalment was very similar to that of ‘Sarkin Inyamurai’, chief of Igbo residents in Kano and ‘Sarkin Yarabawa’, chief of Yoruba residents in Kano and was a move to establish a peaceful coexistence between non-indigenes and their host.

Police arrest two suspects over murder of FUTO student
The Imo State Police Command has arrested two suspects for allegedly killing a 26-year-old student of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Kingsley Okwudiri.
While parading the suspects before newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Owerri, the state capital yesterday April 25th, the state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo, said that Damian Ugonna, 26, and Ikechukwu Chukwuemeka, 27, were responsible for the gruesome murder of the undergraduate on April.
“Following the murder of Kingsley Okwudiri, 26, a student of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, on April 17, near Villa Castle hostel, Umuerim Okwu extension, Nekede, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Squad arrested two suspects, Damian Ugonna, 26, and Ikechukwu Chukwuemeka, 27, in connection with the gruesome murder of the victim.
“The suspects have made useful statements to the police and are cooperating in the investigation. Under my reign in this state, no criminal will be allowed to walk the streets as a free man. We will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.” he said

Lawyer in EFCC custody over N7m land scam
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Ilorin Zonal Office has arrested a legal practitioner, Akeem Jimoh for getting involved in an alleged scam over plots of land that belong to his client, one Alhaji Saka Kareem Oladele to the tune over N7million (Seven Million Naira).
Oladele in his petition to the EFCC alleged that he gave a power of attorney to Jimoh to sell his 35 plots of land, out of which he sold 20 plots to one Mr Michael Jolaiya.
Oladele further alleged that Barrister Jimoh after deducting his commissions on the 20 plots refused to remit the money realised from the sales to him. Jimoh he also alleged, having prepared a sale of land agreement for the 20 plots, still went ahead and fraudulently resold the plots of land to an unsuspecting buyer who have been erecting illegal structures on them, including the 15 plots that are yet to be sold.
“Despite all persuasions and attempts to settle this matter amicably with Mr Akeem Jimoh, he had turned deaf ear to wise counsel and believe that he is above the law. He has also boasted to deal with me”, Oladele stated.
The suspect during interrogation in the Commission, admitted that the petitioner gave him power of attorney to sell the plots of land.
According to him, “The land was handed over to me by Alhaji Saka Oladele via power of attorney dated 2004 to sell his 35 plots of land, situated at Tanker Area, Ilorin, Kwara State, but there was no specific amount mentioned in the power of attorney as at that time.”
The suspect will soon be arraigned in court.

Facebook user, Martin Beck Nworah who claims to know the gang, disclosed that they are a seven-man syndicate that specializes in blackmailing young ladies, especially students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, into sending them their sex tapes with a promise of making them famous, only to end up extorting money from them.
Nworah said the men were arrested in Enugu after a thorough investigation ,and that they have confessed to being the ones who released the controversial sex tapes that have become viral on social media.
Man released after spending 27 years in prison for crime he didn’t commit in Rivers
A Nigerian man who spent 27 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit before he was released in Rivers State, has called for a reform in the judicial system in the country.
The 57-year-old Nigerian man who was identified as Clinton Kanu was arrested at the age of 30, and was convicted of murder in 1992 and remanded in Port Harcourt Maximum Prisons.
His appeal against the lower court judgement was dragged on slowly, but eventually he got to the Supreme Court of Nigeria where he got acquitted of the murder charge on the 5th April, 2019.
It was further learnt that the Nigerian man who spent 27 years in prison for crime he didn’t commit, but eventually got released in Rivers state, continued his education in Prison and obtained a PhD.
Some of his relatives who were at the Port Harcourt Maximum Prisons to receive him expressed joy that he is reuniting with his family after twenty seven years. According to them, the unlawful conviction of their brother brought frustration and anger to the family.

Okunola Mariam, popularly know as ‘Mory_Coso, an Instagram comedian who got married to KraksTV boss, Femi Bakre has revealed she would have loved to get married when there was no social media.
In her beautiful post about her wedding to Femi Bakre which she prayed will skip every eye, Mariam stated that would have loved to have her wedding on the days where there was no social media. According to her this is because she is so private, but since they’ve made lifetime friends on Instagram it is only right that their happy moments with them because that’s what friends do.

I participated in robbery not kidnapping – Undergraduate
An undergraduate who was arrested by the Niger State Police Command, has stated that he only participated in robbery not kidnapping.
The suspect whose arrest came, after one Emenike Odenigbo claimed to have caught two men attempting to abduct his sick son, Chinedu. The three-man gang had attempted to kidnap Chinedu Odenigbo of Angwan Kadara Maitumbi area of Minna.
The suspects, Onwan Onyedika, 20 and Eze Athanasius, 27, who were students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and both from Enugu State, were subsequently arrested by the police detectives attached to Maitumbi Division and they claimed they took to crime to make quick money.
Investigation revealed that they came to from Abuja in the company of one Sunday Odenigbo, the younger brother to the complainant, to abduct his nephew. Confessing to the crime, Onyedika who is a 400-level undergraduate of the UNN said he participated in robbery not kidnapping and was reportedly dragged into the crime by Sunday, said to be a 500-level student of the same institution.
He said, “Sunday told me that he wanted to start a business while in school and begged me to accompany him to his brother’s house in Minna to rob him, stating that his brother will not give him the money otherwise, and I accompanied him.
“I don’t know what pushed me to this act. I never knew that my friend had a different thing in mind. To be sincere, I followed him to rob his brother not to kidnap his son. I have disappointed my late father; I don’t have reasons to get involved in this mess I found myself. How can I face my poor widow mother after disappointing her? I have ruined my life.”
The state police command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar who confirmed the incident, said that the suspect would be charged to court after investigation.
Akin Alabi says man who rejected house offer for borehole didn’t make a wise decision
Akin Alabi, Nairabet CEO and House Of Reps Member-elect has stated that the man who rejected a house offer for a borehole in his community didn’t make a wise decision.
Recall that it was reported yesterday that a gateman has rejected a house offer as a parting gift from his boss whom he served for 25 years. He, instead, requested that a borehole be sunk for his community which he said lacked water. Usman, who had served the Indian national, Mr. V. Verghese, who is also the Managing Director of a pharmaceutical company, Jawa International Limited in Lagos, for 25 years, left the service in order to reunite with his family in the village.
When Usman was leaving, Verghese offered to build a house for him to appreciate his diligence while he was his gateman. He however opted for a borehole in his community.
Akin Alabi who reacted to report admitted that it was selfless, but however stated that it was not a wise decision because he could have collected the house, sell it and sink multiple boreholes. He wrote;
Selfless decision but not very wise. Collect the house, sell it and sink multiple boreholes. The suggestion is not in the verbatim. With some critical thinking, he would have gotten a better deal.
Who is talking about chasing money? We are still on the charity level. Maybe he would have gotten two boreholes. Maybe a borehole and repair of village classroom. Boss was ready to build a house. He could have gotten more for his people with deeper thinking.

Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus, has shared her two cents on the recent yahoo boys debate which was sparked by singer Naira Marley who urged Nigerians to pray for Yahoo boys.
She stated that anyone supporting Yahoo boys need to have his or her brain checked.

Any one that supports Yahoo (Internet fraud) business needs to take his or her brain for check up! How on earth will a sane person support day light criminality. We can never degenerate as a nation! If we continue like this then one day we will wake up to see some people supporting robbery and terrorism!
How I wish we can have a law that makes anyone openly canvassing for these fraudsters as quilty as them! These fraudsters have demonized Nigeria and Nigerians! ‘I Have No Regret Being Independent’ -Peter Okoye speaks On Life After Psquare
Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye better known as Mr. P, says he has no regret leaving the Psquare team he once shared with Paul Okoye, his twin brother, to pursue a solo career.
Mr P, who said this while speaking with Cool FM, added that going solo provided him ample time to invest in multiple businesses without giving up his relevance in the music space.
“Being independent at the moment comes with a lot of impacts…I am opportuned to do a lot of things right now. Apart from being a musician, I am into real estate. I have launched my lottery platform. It is called zoom. It came out two months ago. Every month I give out two million naira to four individuals,” the singer said.
The award-winning singer and dancer, who revealed that he has a clothing line and a beverage factory in the pipeline, also said as a solo artist, he now spends more time with his family.
“I can decide when not to travel or go do anything and enjoy my family time. Not the one that my kids would go on family holidays and I can’t go because when I am going, they’ll say we have a show. Now I can decide,” he said.
“Am doing a lot for myself now and I have no regret about it.”
The 37-year-old gifted singer recently released the visual for his latest single ‘One More Night’ where he teamed up with Niniola, Afro-house artiste.
Speaking on the collaboration, Mr P noted that he wrote the song back when he was still performing with his brother as Psquare.
He added that his decision to bring the Afro-House singer into the mix springs from the need to maintain his originality, and create an exciting yet fresh music piece.
“One More Night is older than every other song I have released. I did this song back in PSquare… I more like an R and B person, but the second verse of the song has a bit more of the Fuji. So I said, Peter if you want to start out this, be you. Because leaving the group and doing the same thing is a no! I wanted to cave out myself even if it doesn’t work out,” he said.
“At the moment, I have spent almost 20 years doing things for the people, now start doing it for yourself. So I had One More Night and said let me cool the situation down. So what I did was I removed the second verse and called Nini. And she did it. The song sounds all fresh in my ears again with a fantastic video, and amazing woman.”
Catholic Priest commits suicide After Being Suspended For ‘Defilng’ A Little Girl.
A Catholic Priest has reportedly committed suicide after being accused of defiling a young girl.
According to reports, the cleric identified as Father Richard Bilé, a Catholic priest in service at the parish Saint Francis of Assisi D ‘ Affiénou (Maferé) in Ivory Coast, hanged himself over the case of paedophilia on the underage girl.
It was gathered that the church council met few days ago, and notified the priest, on Tuesday, April 23, of their decision to temporarily suspend him of any eucharistic office over the sexual molestation case.
After that, the cleric was said to have committed suicide.
Reports have it that this is not the first time the Reverend Father has been accused of paedophilia.
EFCC arrests 32 suspected Yahoo Boys hiding inside chairs in Laderin, Ogun state
EFCC operatives from the Ibadan zonal office today Thursday, April 25th, arrested 32 suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Boys.
A statement from the agency says the arrest of the suspects was not an easy task as most of them hid themselves in some ridiculous places in the house where they were arrested. Some of the suspects hid themselves inside chairs and the rest, but they were smoked out.
Aged between 15 and 39 years, the suspects were arrested at Liberty Estate, Laderin area of Abeokuta, Ogun during an early morning sting operation carried out by men of the commission.
Due to the timing, the suspects were taken by surprise when the EFCC operatives swept on them at one of their notorious havens in the ancient city.
Charms being used by suspects discovered by EFCC officials
Fourteen of them claimed to be undergraduates, while 18 others said they are self-employed in various vocations. Items recovered from them include six exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones, several documents containing false pretences and fetish objects.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Teenage girl dies from being beaten by classmates
A 13-year-old girl from Texas has died on Wednesday after falling into a coma following a violent altercation with two teen girls outside her middle school last week in which one girl kicked her in the head.
Kashala Francis, a student at Attucks Middle School in Houston, died five days after the attack while on life support at Texas Children’s Hospital.
It was there doctors discovered a large tumor in the back of her head and fluid build-up in her brain, her mother, Mamie Jackson told KTRK.
The seventh grader was walking home Thursday when two girls jumped her. In a video that surfaced of the fight, children can be heard laughing as at least one of the girls kicked Francis in the head about two blocks away from the school, Jackson told KTRK.
Francis returned home Thursday with bruises on her face but no other apparent injuries, her mother said. The girl briefly became delusional while staying the night at her aunt’s house Saturday and complained of severe headaches Sunday morning.
Jackson called 9-1-1 Sunday when her daughter lost consciousness, ABC News reported. Francis was rushed to the hospital where she fell into a coma.
Police said they are waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine if Francis’ death was caused by the fight, the tumor, or a combination of both.
The case is being investigated as a homicide but no arrests have been made pending the results of the report, Victor Senties, a spokesman for the Houston Police Department told ABC News.Yes
