South Africa born-American actress, Charlize Theron has been spotted several times with her son rocking braids and wearing a girl’s dress and has been questioned why she allows that.
In an interview with dailymail, Charlize Theron stated that her decision to raise the kid that way is simply because that’s what the boy wants – to be a girl. Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,’ Charlize agrees, briskly. ‘Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: ‘I am not a boy!
So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive. They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.
My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be. And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that.’

A man has kicked the bucket days subsequent to stabbing his girlfriend to death and concealing her body under the bed.
Thabiso Hlabahlaba, 41, killed his girlfriend Khethiwe Mosoeu, 33, last Thursday at a home in Centurion, Gauteng area of South Africa. He then swallowed four packs of rat poison with gin and sat waiting to die.
However, the police arrived at his house and took him to the hospital but he died two days later.
Thabiso’s sister Dikeledi, 31, said Thabiso told them his girlfriend went to the shops when they asked him where she was. But they suspected something as wrong because Thabiso, who rarely drinks, had bought a bottle of gin and drank it all.
“He was not a drinking person and we became suspicious,” Dikeledi said.
She said they went to the apartment he shared with Khethiwe and discovered she had been killed.
She said: “We broke the window. There was blood on the curtain and we saw her legs sticking out under the bed. We still wonder why Thabiso did this. It’s a pity he’s also dead and won’t tell us why he did it.”
Denrele Edun has taken to his social media page to recount his struggles when he was a budding model and his story is so touching.
The media personality told of how he went after designers, begging to model for them. Most of them made fun of him, told him he doesn’t have what it takes. Other models laughed at him, and he was completely ignored.
According to Denrele, one particular designer looked him up and down and told him, “You can never walk on my runway. U look like a malnourished Somalian refugee.”
The now sought after model and media personality, who has made it multiple times to the cover of several magazines, wrote:

An (Androgynous) Male Model has to be psychologically strong; there’s a lot of rejection!
In the spirit of FashionWeek, allow me dig out my dusty portfolios and throwback my first ever professional modeling shot!
?
Despite d disgusted looks from passers by, I walked with my defiant confidence to d local bus-stop to board a Molue that’ll take me to another Designer’s showroom.
I had developed a knack for appearing at Fashion Designer showrooms and their houses to present my pictures & my overwhelming personality. All in a bid to convince them to walk in their shows.
Mind you; I was the shortest, skinniest Male Model at that time, but that didn’t deter me. The Hustle was real!
I got to a designer’s house and saw a cluster of top models. They all burst into laughter when I walked past but then, who cared? Sighting a familiar face, I ran up to her and was told fittings had begun. In my usual bravado, i saw the designer & walked up to him.
Moment i introduced myself & my intentions, he stared me down and asked,
“Are you a Refugee?”.
“No Sir, but I’m the model with a unique look who’ll love to walk for u,” I threw back confidently.
He looked me up and down and said, “U can never walk on my runway. U look like a malnourished Somalian refugee”, and with that he faced his tailors & continued giving directives. “I’ll wait in d Showroom Sir, till u’r ready to fit me”, I answered bk & walked in to the reception.
This designer actually hissed & went in. Came out, dismissed all d other models without me noticing and left the building.
Wit all d bravado I could muster, I waited for an agonizing 12 hours. I was scared to go get something to eat cos i didn’t want to miss his entrance.
At bout 11pm, he strolled in wit some other models. They obviously had finished a shoot & he seemed to be in a light mood.
Seein my chance, I walked up to him.
This time, he lost his cool.
But that didnt stop me from walking his show weeks after.
He refused to pay me & not only was I stranded but had to walk from V/I to Yaba wher Vigilantes made me frog jump on the express!
?
The Designer? We’re friends till date!
Why? Denrele get clean mind!
A 19-year-old student, Nusrat Jahan Rafi was doused with kerosene and set on fire at her school in Bangladesh. Less than two weeks earlier, she had filed a sexual harassment complaint against her headmaster.
The teenager was from Feni, a small town 100 miles (160km) south of Dhaka and was studying at a madrassa, ( Islamic school)
On 27 March, she said the headmaster called her into his office and repeatedly touched her in an inappropriate manner. Before things could go any further she ran out.
According to BBC, Nusrat went to the police with the help of her family on the day the alleged abuse happened. At the local police station she gave a statement. She should have been provided with a safe environment to recall her traumatic experiences. Instead she was filmed by the officer in charge on his phone as she described the ordeal.
In the video Nusrat is visibly distressed and tries to hide her face with her hands. The policeman is heard calling the complaint “no big deal” and telling her to move her hands from her face. The video was later leaked to local media.
For a girl in her position, reporting sexual harassment can come with consequences. Victims often face judgement from their communities, harassment, in person and online, and in some cases violent attacks. Nusrat went on to experience all of these.
On 27 March, after she went to the police, they arrested the headmaster. Things then got worse for Nusrat. A group of people gathered in the streets demanding his release. The protest had been arranged by two male students and local politicians were allegedly in attendance. People began to blame Nusrat. Her family say they started to worry about her safety.
On 6 April, 11 days after the alleged sexual assault, Nusrat went to her school to sit her final exams.
“I tried to take my sister to school and tried to enter the premises, but I was stopped and wasn’t allowed to enter,” said Nusrat’s brother, Mahmudul Hasan Noman.
“If I hadn’t been stopped, something like this wouldn’t have happened to my sister,” he said.
According to a statement given by Nusrat, a fellow female student took her to the roof of the school, saying one of her friends was being beaten up. When Nusrat reached the rooftop four or five people, wearing burqas, surrounded her and allegedly pressured her to withdraw the case against the headmaster. When she refused, they set her on fire.
Nusrat’s death has sparked protests and thousands have used social media to express their anger about both her case and the treatment of sexual assault victims in Bangladesh.
“Many girls don’t protest out of fear after such incidents. Burqas, even dresses made of iron cannot stop rapists,” said Anowar Sheikh on BBC Bengali’s Facebook page.
“I wanted a daughter my whole life, but now I am afraid. Giving birth to a daughter in this country means a life of fear and worry,” wrote Lopa Hossain in her Facebook post.
According to women’s rights group Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, there were 940 incidents of rape in Bangladesh in 2018. But researchers say the real number is likely to be much higher.
“When a woman tries to get justice for sexual harassment, she has to face a lot of harassment again. The case lingers for years, there is shaming in society, a lack of willingness from police to properly investigate the allegations,” said Salma Ali, a human rights lawyer and former director of the Women Lawyers’ Association.
“It leads the victim to give up on seeking justice. Ultimately the criminals don’t get punished and they do the same crime again. Others don’t fear to do the same because of such examples.”
Activists are now demanding the order be implemented and enshrined in law to protect students.
“This incident has shaken us, but as we have seen in the past, such incidents get forgotten in time. I don’t think there will be a big change after this. We have to see if justice gets done,” said Professor Kaberi Gayen of the University of Dhaka.
“Change has to come in, both psychologically and in implementing the rule of law. Awareness about sexual harassment should be raised from childhood in schools,” she said.
“They have to learn what is right and wrong when it comes to sexual harassment.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Minimum Wage Repeal and Re-Enactment Act, 2019 into law.
The senior presidential aide on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Thursday in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
According to him, the Act makes it compulsory for all employers across the country to pay workers a minimum of N30,000.
Recall that the Senate in March approved the sum of N30,000 as national minimum wage for both the federal and state governments.
The approval followed the adoption of the report of the adhoc committee on the National Minimum Wage chaired Deputy Chief Whip Francis Alimekhena (APC, Edo).
The N30,000 approved by the Senate is N3,000 higher than the N27,000 proposal submitted by the Executive arm in January.
The Senate approval followed that of the House of Representatives, which equally approved N30,000 as national minimum wage in January.
Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls took to Twitter to issue a disclaimer which some users of the app have found to be in poor taste.
The disclaimer was in light of a certain lady who gave her name as Lizzy after being picked up by Freedom Foundation for rehabilitation – she told Pastor Tony Rapu’s team how she became addicted to cocaine after her ex-boyfriend began mixing it with her weed.
She spoke English fluently for an addict and said she attended Vivian Fowler college and also Caleb Nursery and Primary school.
After the video went viral, Vivian Fowler issued a statement on Twitter. In the statement, they denied that Lizzy ever attended their school but said they will work with Freedom Foundation to ensure Lizzy gets the help she needs.
However, some Twitter users did not approve of the disclaimer and said it was absolutely unnecessary since Lizzy didn’t say she became an addict while attending their institution.

A Nigerian lady has taken to her social media page to narrate how a family member of hers, scammed her of N600,000.
In her narration, she explained that the relative called her to inform her of a plot of land available for sale, which she agreed to buy and then sent her the money.
After the family member received the money, it was one story to the other – and now other members of the family want the matter settled amicably.
The lady wrote,
I’ve just been scammed of 600k by a distant family member. Now all my uncles, mom and Dad are begging me on top my money?
She called me ending of January and told me that her co wife wants to “urgently” sell her 3plots of land in the village at a very cheap price, i asked her how Legit the stuff was and she told me VERY LEGIT. Said the woman’s son is critically ill and needs urgent money for treatment.
I said Ok i will send someone to check the land out. Which i did and everything checked out. 10th February, i paid the money to her and that was how story entered the matter. She then told me the woman already sold to someone else cos I wasn’t serious.
I said OK oya pay the money back naa she said I should wait that she have SEEN another land. I agreed o cos I wanted to buy another land, fence it and forget it for like 5-10years. Anyway, everyday she kept coming up with different excuses that the one
She saw, they are having family issues, another she saw the husband agreed but the wife said no. Another one she saw it’s deep in the forest. Only for me to get a call from my mom today telling me how She used some of the money to pay her kids’ waec/Jamb,medical
Bills then the rest she used it to pay off debtors, feed and start something for herself. I then asked my mom why didn’t she send the money back then ask for help? What nonsense? Hung up on my mom, called the woman back and told her if she doesn’t send the money by Month end
Both her, her husband and the kid writing WAEC will be arrested and transferred to a state Only i will know of. Next thing my parents and uncles are calling my phone and asking me to come back so we can settle it as a family? I told them if I’m traveling back it will be To get her and her family arrested. Now everyone is saying I’m OVERREACTING?
My anger is still boiling and I probably might do worse if I don’t see my money by month end. The most annoying part is that she HUNG UP on me when i was telling her i will get her arrested?

A 19-year-old aspiring actress, with the name, Shante Stephenson, committed suicide by hanging over the fear that she was ugly.
Shante, would often compare herself to friends online, was struggling with low self-esteem over her appearance and after recently losing her job.
Tragically, Walthamstow Coroners’ Court heard the teen had taken her life just a week after being assessed as “no longer in crisis” by the NHS.

“It seemed to have been triggered by an experience she had performing a role in a theatre show case, she didn’t think she performed it well, and she was dwelling on it, replaying it over and over in her mind.”
Dr Travers added the teen revealed how she had struggled with her weight and feelings of being inadequate. He said,
“She told me that since the age of 11 she was focused on not being good enough, with regard to her career ambitions and her physical appearance in particular. “She was continuously comparing herself to her peers and frequently looking at multiple social media sites.”
