Four Nigerians arrested for forcing girls into prostitution with ‘juju’ in Italy.

According to reports, Italian authorities have arrested four Nigerian citizens accused of human trafficking and forcing underage migrant girls into prostitution, including through the use of esoteric rituals.

Four Nigerian citizens, of whom three are women, have been arrested in the province of Caserta as part of an investigation by the Catania anti-mafia police into the trafficking of Nigerians who were brought to Italy and forced into prostitution.

Those arrested were a 42-year-old woman and her 36-year-old brother, his 31-year-old wife and a 26-year-old woman.

They are accused of working with other unidentified suspects in Nigeria and Libya in human trafficking, an aggravated crime due to its cross-border nature; as well as causing harm to minors and exposing the injured parties to serious danger to their lives and their physical integrity.

The investigation began following statements made by a Nigerian minor named “Onda” (name changed to protect privacy, ed.), who disembarked in Catania in July 2016 from the Italian Coast Guard ship “Luigi Dattilo” together with 359 other migrants.

From her story, investigators learned that she had been recruited in Nigeria with the false promise of work in Italy, after having undergone an esoteric “juju” ritual, with which she agreed to repay the sum of about 20,000 euros. Once she arrived in Sicily, the young woman was taken from the reception centre where she was being hosted and was forced into prostitution.

Police were able to reconstruct the stories of other young Nigerian girls who, like “Onda”, were forced to prostitute themselves for a monthly payment of about 100 euros. They worked at outposts called “ugbo”, which means “the land”. These indicated the few meters of road assigned to each girl, and the police operation took this word for the name of the operation.

Real Madrid’s Horrid Show: What Went Wrong?

Who could have ever imagined winners of the Champions League title for three consecutive years would fail to occupy a place for themselves in the quarterfinals of the 2018-19 season?

It hasn’t been a great season for Real Madrid and the dismay is quite evident among the fans. Their humiliating defeat to Barcelona by 1-5 will remain etched in the minds of the people for a long time to come. Everything seems to be falling apart for the Vikings since the exit of its forward striker, Cristiano Ronaldo and resignation of team manager Zedan post commencement of last season.  Even if you are a regular in Betway football betting, we are sure you have been surprised by Real Madrid’s below par performance this season.

On the other hand, team managers swapping hands mid-season has not improved matters for this dwindling side. So, what do Betway Nigeria experts feel contributed to the team’s poor showing?

  • Cristiano Ronaldo’s Exit

Ronaldo’s transfer to the Italian side Juventus has cost the Vikings its unrivalled status. It wouldn’t be wrong to say the Number 7 maestro was the spine which held the team upright for a year short of a decade. During his tenure with the club, he scored a record 450 goals. While Juventus are reaping the benefits of having a four-time Ballons d’Or and three Golden Boot award winner on their side, Real Madrid is yet to find a replacement.

Although there have been talks of cracking a deal with the likes of Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah to fill in the void, nothing seems to have materialised.

  • Zedan’s Renunciation

The stepping down of Zinedine Zidane as coach, post Madrid’s Champions League win came as a shock to the football fraternity. Zidane’s successful stint with the Vikings won them 3 consecutive titles and the mystery surrounds the sudden move. Soon after Zedan’s resignation, the team management struggled to find a suitable replacement for the coach.

After weighing several options, the Spanish national team manager, Julen Lopetegui was appointed the new manager. A professional blow for Lopetegui followed this appointment as he got sacked from the national team. Real Madrid faced one of its worse phases during Julen’s 4-month long brief tenure with a stumbling performance both at home and away matches.

The sacking of Julen Lopetegui opened doors for Argentine legend Santiago Solari in the hope to turn things around for the falling side. As much as Solari tried, he couldn’t any work wonders either. Two consecutive defeats to Barcelona and latest against Ajax were the last nail in the coffin for Solari.

While the team management decides who would be the next best to fit into the French maestro Zedan’s shoes, the decision remains uncertain whether Solari would see the team to the end of this season or would have to hang his boots earlier.

Hazy Future

To make things worse for the side, reports of Gareth Bale’s murky future with the team are doing rounds. A legend of the game, Bale has played a pivotal role in Bernabeu bringing home 4 Champions League titles and lifting a La Liga trophy. However, rifts among teammates and critical views of the fans have put a question mark whether Bale’s contract until 2022 would be terminated mid-way.

INEC declares Kano governorship election inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has also declared Kano governorship election which was held on Saturday inconclusive.

The state’s Returning Officer, Prof. Bello Shehu who made the announcement on Monday, said the election is inconclusive because the number of cancelled votes is higher than the difference in votes scored between the two leading candidates: Abba Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and incumbent governor Abdullahi Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The INEC Returning officer who declared the Kano governorship inconclusive, added that while the PDP candidate polled 1,014,474 votes, Mr Ganduje of the APC scored 987,819 votes leaving a difference of 26,655 votes. The total number of votes cancelled across 22 local government areas including Gama ward of Nasarawa local government is 141,694 votes. He backed his announcement by citing provisions of the law, which stated that he had to declare the election inconclusive because the number of cancelled votes is much higher than the difference between the two major candidates.

With the announcement, Kano joins Benue, Plateau, Adamawa, Bauchi and Sokoto states on the growing list of states whose governorship election was declared inconclusive.

You are not a wife material – Uche Maduagwu slams Tonto Dikeh

Controversial actor Uche Maduagw has come out to slam Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh again.

This s coming after the actress and her ex-husband Olakunle Churchill, got into a new social media war after Churchill made it known Tonto does not have sole custody of their son as she claims.

Taking to his page, Maduagwu, Uche slammed the actress calling her an overnight holy Christian.

Uche Maduagwu slams Tonto Dikeh

In his words;

Any woman that carries DRAMA on her head like dreadlock, is not a WIFE material, but a Nollywood film material…?? Everyone in Naija knows you’ve gotten your HEART broken in the past,? and that’s because you’re a GENTLE, kind and generous man,? but you need to ignore all their negative vibes, just because you’re keeping quiet doesn’t mean any thing, sometimes, silence is always more expensive than their “radical and unnecessary attention seeking” lifestyle.? @olakunlechurchill some people will claim to be an overnight “Holy and righteous” christians,? but they’ll never stop misbehaving like “Ghana must go bag” on social media. Who is fooling who??

Two days ago, Churchill had provided court document to counter claims that Tonto had sole custody of their son King Andre. In retaliation, Tonto had hit harder stating that she married the businessman with her money, clothed and fed him.

In her words;

You and all of them are mad!!! Why is no one talking to my face lemme be slapping them?? I married you with my money, clothed you with my money, fed you with my money, training your child with my money, offered to pay child support for your daughter with my money and you think I will spend another dime of my money paying blogs to write about you? In your gorilla looking frog-like head that’s possible.
Tonto and Churchill tied the knot in 2015 and ended things 17 months later. They share a son, King Andre, together.

Ethiopian Airlines black box has been found

Investigators have found the flight data recorders from an Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed on Sunday.

The devices recovered at the crash site were the Boeing 737 Max 8’s cockpit voice recorder and digital flight data recorder. The plane was en route from Addis Ababa to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, when it crashed six minutes after take-off, killing all 157 people on board.

Several airlines have grounded the Boeing model following the disaster. The months-old aircraft came down near the town of Bishoftu, 60km (37 miles) south-east of the capital at 08:44 local time (05:44 GMT).

The cause of the disaster is not yet clear. But the pilot had reported difficulties and asked to return to Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airlines said.

“At this stage, we can’t rule out anything, We can’t also attribute the cause to anything because we’ll have to comply with the international regulation to wait for the investigation” CEO Tewolde Gebremariam said.

Atheist cites Ethiopian airlines crash as reason why ‘God doesn’t exist’

A very popular Ghanaian atheist, Prince Vincent Ayagpong has buttressed his claim as to why he believes that God doesn’t exist.

Citing the recent Ethiopian Airlines plane crash which killed all 157 people on board, he questioned why God didn’t hear the prayers of even one of those 157 people.

He said the earlier people work to understand that we are here by chance, the better life would be.

He wrote on Facebook:

Is it not sad and mysterious that none of the 157 people who died in the plane crash yesterday was worth saving by any of the Gods believed to be up there?

I mean, so none of the 157 people which probably included children and infants was really a decent person that called on his or her God and the God answered?

There are a few possible reasons why none was saved:

1. God was sleeping
2. God was busy drinking beer with Satan
3. God couldn’t be bothered as he does not care about homo sapiens
4. God caused this evil to happen himself
5. God is powerless and couldn’t do anything
6. God has been dead a long time ago but no one came to tell us
7. There is no God

Considering the odds and how repetitively such things happen without any sign of a miracle working God showing up, the most plausible answer is that none of the Gods claimed, really exist.

The God delusion has been part of us for a long time and these things always remind us that indeed no celestial father is watching over us.

Do you remember Captain Planet? He mostly shown up when his people called him to save them or the world but the many Gods people believe in, keep failing them and yet they can’t see it.

It’s sad but I believe many shouted and called on God—he didn’t answer or turn up to save any.

We are here by random act of chance and not by the hands of any invisible father.

The earlier we begin to work hard to understand the world we live in and find solutions to our problems, the better.

Do not rely on the hand of any God, none exist.

Good morning!

‘Why I lost the Lagos governorship election’ – Jimi Agbaje finally reveals

Jimi Agbaje, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Lagos State has attributed his defeat at the poll to the suppression of votes in areas where he was strong.

Agbaje said this during an interview with Punch shortly after the result of the governorship election was announced. He also lamented the low voter turnout in Lagos State which was less than 20 per cent of the total number of persons that collected Permanent Voter Cards.

He said the threats, coupled with the manner in which the presidential election was conducted, led to the voter apathy witnessed in the nation’s commercial nerve centre.

“From the outset it was clear that the numbers were on our side and naturally, that was our comparable strength but the moment you had the numbers slashed, then we were at a disadvantage. The strategy of the other side was to make sure that those numbers did not come out to vote and to that extent it has worked in their favour” he said.

Agbaje said many of his supporters were intimidated and even threatened with eviction and sack if the PDP won in their areas. He said rather than risk their lives and their livelihood, the people decided to sit at home which gave his opponent the upper hand.

The PDP candidate added, “It is not good for our democracy when only about 20 per cent come out to vote. There was voter apathy because of the event that happened during the presidential election.”

Agbaje said voter apathy would continue as long as people believed that their votes would not count. When asked if he would be challenging the outcome of the election in court, Agbaje said he would refrain from making comments for now.

Plane forced to turn around after woman realizes she forgot her baby at the airport

A mother flying from Saudi Arabia to Malaysia over the weekend insisted that the passenger jet turn back mid-flight when she realized she had forgotten her baby at the airport.

The plane was forced to return to the airport soon after takeoff last weekend when the mother realized she had left her baby at the terminal.

The Saudia plane had been due to fly from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, but had to return to the King Abdul Aziz International Airport when the mother refused to continue the journey mid-flight and demanded they reunite her with her child.

Video footage captured the baffled air control operators speaking by radio with the pilots, who were doing their best to explain the bizarre situation. As they did so, the airport staff were trying to establish the protocol for such a scenario, Gulf News reported.

“May God be with us. Can we come back or what?” the pilot can be heard asking the air traffic controllers.

After noting the flight number, the operator asks a colleague what protocol they should follow, if one even exists, Newsweek report.

“This flight is requesting to come back…a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing,” the pilot continued.

Air traffic staff then pressed the pilot to confirm the story, to which he replied: “We told you, a passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight.”

With the story straight, the operator then gave them the all-clear to turn around and return to Jeddah.

He said: “Ok, head back to the gate. This is totally a new one for us!”

The plane returned to King Abdul Aziz International Airport where the mother was able to retrieve her child.

Below is an audio recording between the pilot and air traffic controller. A bit of English is tossed in at around :35.

Couple arrested in Iran over romantic shopping mall proposal because it ‘offended Islam’ (video)

A young couple have been arrested in Iran over a romantic proposal in a shopping mall, which authorities say “offended Islam”.

A video of the romantic public proposal went viral and the couple at the centre of the video were arrested for offending Islamic principles with.

The proposal took place in a central Iran shopping mall in the city of Arak. The footage shows the man proposing as he and his girlfriend stood inside a heart shape made by arranging red petals on the floor. They were surrounded by red and white balloons as the man proposed and the woman accepted.

A crowd of onlookers cheered and applauded after the surprised woman accepted the proposal. The man then slipped a ring on her finger and they shared a hug.

Shortly after the video went viral, Islamic Republic News Agency journalist Sobhan Hassanvand tweeted the video, writing that both were arrested for a marriage proposal in contravention of Islamic principles.

The public proposal had drawn the reaction from authorities because it was based on “decadent” Western culture, according to Hassanvand’s post. He added that the pair were later released on bail.

Public displays of affection are prohibited in Iran’s strict Islamic laws, which also forbid gender mixing in public places. Relationships between Western and Muslim people in Iran are also forbidden.

Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri has advised against having sex outside marriage. According to him, such act devalues a human.

He went on to advise young men to marry a virgin bride which he says is honorable.

Sex outside marriage devalues you. This will annoy you, but a virgin bride is the most honourable bride. That is why God chose a virgin to bear His Son.

I know the world is upside down, but free sex belongs to animals, not human beings. Abstain from premarital sex. And when you marry, be aware that if there is no food in the dining room and bedroom of your home, your partner will eat outside. So even if you are not hungry, provide food in both rooms #RenosNuggets”, Reno Omokri shared.

Nigerian Singer, Iyanya spoke with Bolanle Olukanni, host of the Juice on Ndani TV few days back and he revealed quite a lot about his music career, how he was betrayed by his partner, what led him into leaving Triple MG and how Don Jazzy gave him his life back.

Speaking of the mystery behind his departure from Triple MG, Iyanya said ;

“What people don’t know is, I didn’t sell my share. People see me and say oh. why did you sell your share? I didn’t sell my shares, I left Made Men at the time because there was so much darkness. In the midst of all the wings, I decided to let that go. “

Speaking about how Don Jazzy helped him during those difficult times of his, Iyanya revealed, ;

“Mavin was … shout out to Jazzy… Jazzy gave me that platform to put music out because I left Made Men and I didn’t want anything from Made Men, so Jazzy just said look, man, you’ve built something over the years and starting all over is not going to be as easy as you think, so just put out music from here and work on something.”

He further added that it was the main reason people thought he signed with Mavin. He revealed he did not sign but it was more of love shown to him by Don Jazzy and that it was during that period that Temple Music came calling.

“So people really thought I signed to Mavin but it wasn’t like a legal signing, it was just love. And then Temple Music came, when Temple music came, I love the vision, I love the dream and I was like Okay, let me try this, and that was when I released “Up To Something,” “Hold On,” I mean,“Good Vibes.” And after that, it was time for me to move, because I felt like I got to the point where I have to put out my own thing, have my own family, have my own team, me and Alex…”

Iyanya went ahead to reveal he was betrayed by his business partner, Ubi, who he thought he co-owned Made Men Music Group with. He said,

“When I said it was darkness, I was not myself anymore because I felt like there was no trust anymore. Because at the time I was singing I co-owned Made Men with Ubi but I later realized that my name was not in any of the forms I signed… and I was broken… and that was the beginning of me just saying to hell with everything.”

That was healing for me, that was the best time of whole situation I was in, that was the best moment because Jazzy just opened his family and said look, you’re one of us and everybody just showed me that love coz it came from Jazzy. So from Jazzy to Tiwa, to Baby Fresh to everybody, it was just love and that really gave me life because, to be honest with you, I was broken. Like I was broken!”

Toyin Abraham has slammed MC Galaxy for asking girls to go nude on his Instagram live for N50k, which according to her is despicable, debasing, and bad in every way.

Toyin Abraham who slammed MC Galaxy for asking girls to go nude on his Instagram live for N50k, wrote;

Dear MC Galaxy, what you did asking girls to go naked for 50k is despicable, debasing, and bad in every way. You just further strengthen the believe that the easiest way women can get things is to sell their bodies. I sincerely can’t fathom what you need or gain from this despicable act when you could have checked in on porn sites. I am not trying to be a moral judge, I am the least qualified to judge a fellow human, but just the way you used your influence and platform for this woman-debasing act, I am also using mine to stand against an act ridiculing women and further prove that some men are scum.

See what people like LindaIkeji, KemiAdetiba, Chimamanda, (Even your friend, LauraIkeji), and other women are doing with their platforms, they lift other women by living, giving and not asking for nudes. You can as well follow examples of young men like Davido, TundeEdnut, Wizkid and Banky W. My message to those girls that went naked on your page is this-please let’s do better, let’s stop making men like Mr. Galaxy think everything about women is money. Don’t sell yourself short because of 50k, its the least of the money you will make in your lifetime. We are women, we are powerful, we are not cheap. With love always, Toyin Abraham.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala named as one of six women who helped shape contemporary world order

In honor of the 2019 International Women’s Day, Nigeria’s Ngozi OKONJO-IWEALA was named by Council on Foreign Relations as one of Six women who helped shape Contemporary World order.

The piece by Stewart M. Patrick reads: “While some international institutions, like the Brundtland Commission, have had women at their helm, others have proved more recalcitrant to female leaders. One such institution, the World Bank, saw cracks in its glass ceiling in 2012, when Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala ran to become its president.

After serving terms as Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister and finance minister, and then as a managing director at the bank, she (and Colombia’s Jose Antonio Ocampo) squared off against American physician Jim Yong Kim in the bank’s first-ever contested presidential selection.

Historically, a longstanding transatlantic gentlemen’s agreement has put an American in charge of the bank and a European in charge of the IMF as a fait accompli. Okonjo-Iweala helped to challenge that non-meritocratic status quo with her candidacy. Although unsuccessful, she put up fierce opposition and laid the groundwork for future challenges from non-Americans, especially from developing countries.

With the World Bank presidency now up for grabs once again and the controversial David Malpass as the U.S. nominee, Okonjo-Iweala has garnered attention as a potential alternative.

As the current chair of the board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and an influential figure on the world stage, she will remain an inspiration for women across the globe regardless of whether she assumes the mantle of World Bank president.”
