Nigerian Afro-pop Superstar, Yemi Alade has slammed a troll who invaded her comment section with criticism of her kind of music and success levels.
According to the critic, Yemi Alade’s lyrics are poor, predictable and lack creativity.
The critic further suggested that the kind of music she is making is the reason why a certain queen is reigning over she and other female artistes in Nigeria.
In reaction, Yemi Alade listed the achievement she’s made this year alone and also how she has toured several countries performing with her live band which makes unique music.
A senior officer of the Nigeria Customs Service has died after he was stung by a swarm of bees while on patrol duty.
Abba Abubakar, an officer operating at the Seme customs command, along Ashipa axis of Badagry, Lagos, met his untimely death Tuesday after he was stung by the bees.
The agency said in a statement ;
“With sadness and deep sorrow, the Seme Area Command announces the death of our colleague CSC Abba, A.,” Saidu Abdullahi, the spokesperson of the Seme customs command.
“The sad event occurred yesterday due to an attack by a swarm of bees around Ashipa axis, Lagos- Badagry Express way.
“We pray that Allah (SWT) shower His mercy and grant him the highest level of Jannah, and give his family the patience and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Aameen.”
Mr Abdullahi described the deceased as an astute officer who discharged his duties diligently.
“He has never failed to report at his duty post daily. We regret to lose such a gallant officers,” Mr Abdullahi said.
The Yobe State-born officer was survived by his wife and children.
According to the customs, the officer has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
American singer, Solána Imani Rowe, who goes by the stage name SZA has given herself a Nigerian name and it has taken her Nigerian fans by surprise.
The 28-year-old singer who was born to African American parents, a Christian mother and a Muslim father in St. Louis, Missouri in 1990, changed her name on Instagram to Amarachi Chinonso.

Popular Nigerian female cleric and President of Nigerian Women in Clergy, Prophetess Nonnie Roberson has died.
According to reports, the cleric died on Wednesday morning April 10th after complaining of abdominal pain.
Confirming the death, one of her associates, Elder Theophilus said ‘Nonnie died of abdominal pains which she complained of on Sunday’.
Nonnie Roberson is a seasoned midwife, seer and prophetess. She is married with four biological children and numerous spiritual children. She was a successful entrepreneur, who understands how to navigate the marketplace ministry.
Late Nonnie Roberson is the founder of Sisterhood Africa (SHA), a closed group of over one million women, who she ministers to and counsels.
Two people including a dispatch rider, were killed during a brawl between hoodlums in the Fadeyi area of Lagos state on Wednesday, 10th of April.
According to reports, the dispatch rider died after he was hit by a stray bullet. The fight is said to have started at about 11am with sporadic shooting that left people scampering for their lives and the federal road closed down for hours.
No one knows the main cause of the fracas.
“The crisis is not a small matter. Immediately the shooting started, the police on ground ran away, because those boys were heavily armed. They were not carrying pistols. I don’t know how to describe their guns, but the guns they carried surpassed that of the police in terms of the sophistication. It was after the whole crisis has simmered that the police and some SARS officials came to the scene,” a resident of the area said.
Police officers, stationed at the area to maintain orderliness, confirmed the killing, adding they have deposited the corpses at the morgue.

Few hours ago, the video of a police officer destroying the phone of a Delta State University student which he reportedly bought for N250,000 went viral on the internet.
In the video, the officer who was angry that after serving the police force for about 13 years, he still has not been able to afford such an expensive phone, smashed the phone to the ground.
According to an update by the Nigerian Police Force on Twitter, the officer has been arrested and an orderly trial has commenced.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Ilorin Zonal Office has secured the conviction of one Ogundele Adeseye, 24, who was re-arraigned on a one-count amended charge bordering on internet fraud.
He was convicted by Justice Babangana Ashigar of a Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, on April 10, 2019 after he pleaded “guilty” to the charge, following a plea bargain agreement.
He was previously arraigned on a five-count charge, which was later amended to one count after plea bargain agreement was reached.
The charge reads:
“That you, Ogundele Adeseye, sometimes in July 2018 or thereabouts in Ilorin within the jurisdiction of this honourable court by means of fraudulent trick that you are a white Caucasian and interested in having a relationship, obtained the cumulative sum of $500 (Five Hundred Dollars) in form of iTunes gift cards from one Chase Gliglia, an American Citizen whom you met on seeking.com website (sugarbabysite) by chatting with her using the [email protected] and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under section 421 of the Criminal code act.”
In his plea, Ogundele said,
“My lord, I have learnt my lessons, I have realized that crime and criminality is not good, I am pleading with your lordship to temper justice with mercy.”
In sentencing him, the trial judge held there was a need to enforce judgement that will serve as a deterrent to would-be internet fraudsters.
“In accordance with plea bargain agreement, I hereby convict the defendant and sentence him to six months imprisonment,” he said.
Ogundele, however, busted into tears when he was being led to Mandala Prisons by the prison officials.
A Nigerian guy who was secretly admiring a lady that he felt really entitled to her, viciously went after her when he saw her tweet shooting her shot at another man.
The male Twitter user, Ugwunna, who was asked out on a date, shared screenshots of the chat between the woman who asked him out and her secret admirer.
Ugwunna said that the secret admirer attacked him and even blocked him because the woman he was crushing on from afar showed interest in him.
The secret admirer then went after the girl by sending her insulting chats for the unrequited love.
A man caught his wife cheating with his best friend after accidentally leaving his camera on while charging the device.
The husband, only known as Mr Yang, said the incident unfolded in 2016 in China when he took his dash camera home and left it charging without knowing it had turned on.
Shocking footage captured the moment his friend Mr Liu, said to be a local mayor, turned up at his home to be greeted by his wife, Cui Hua, who he knew though work.
The footage, captured in August 2016 but only recently shared, shows the pair kissing as they greet. They then a brief conversation before Mr Liu appears to start undressing her.
Mr Yang explained he had been hiding the incident as his son was preparing for university entrance exam and only decided to divorce in January 2018.
Mr Yang said he had complained to the local government but had yet received any reply. Being accused of cheating, Cui Hua replied to ShangYao News that she was a colleague of Mr Liu.
She admitted that the government had received her ex-husband’s complaint and said:
“If this is true, they [the officials] would have given me a warning.”
Cui Hua also denied that the footage was taken from a dashcam as she believed it was filmed on a hidden camera.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, on Wednesday said Google originated from “Ifa,” also known as the oracle.
The traditional leader said without Ifa, Google would not have been created.
Ogunwusi said this during a press tour of the tourists sites within the ancient city ahead of the Tourism Innovation and Development Innovation Conference slated for April 24.
The theme of the forthcoming conference is: “Impact of Sustainable Tourism Development and Marketing of Tourism Destinations on Host Communities.”

It is also a West African religion and system of divination.
Ogunwusi said Ifa as a form divination was all about sourcing for information and knowledge through traditional consultation.
The traditional ruler said Google could be regarded as the modern way of sourcing for past information and what was likely to happen in the future too.
He said Ifa originated several thousands of years ago and is seen as the voice of the almighty God, referred to as: “Orisa Oke,” which is supreme to other lesser gods.
He said: “Without Ifa, there could never have been Google.
“So Google is the modern day version of Ifa.

Ogunwusi explained that if the modern day youths and the educated wanted to know the date of any important event, they would search for it from Google, adding: “That is part of the functions that Ifa does for its believers and followers.
“That is the truth but it may sound strange.”
The Ooni, who is the custodian of the Youruba culture and tradition, called on Nigerians to embrace traditional worships peculiar to their communities.
He said that would not stop them from practising other modern religions.

A man identified as Azeez Morufu, was spotted withdrawing money from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) without using an ‘ATM card’ in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Tuesday and it led to him having a date in the police station.
According to a reports, Morufu was seen early Tuesday at ATM points of one of the new generation banks beside the Ibadan zonal headquarters of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) on Oba Adebimpe Road, Dugbe.
Morufu who made some ”confessions” after he was caught said he has a code he always input on the ATM to dispense without a card.
An eye witness, who drew the attention of others to the scene, explained that she became suspicious when she noticed the young man in dirty clothes was withdrawing huge amount from the ATM. She said that the suspect has, however, been handed over to police from the Iyaganku division.

A star gymnast has had to retire from the sport after she broke both her legs and dislocated both her knees during her floor routine at the NCAA competition.
Samantha Cerio, a gymnast at Auburn University had to be carted out of Friday’s NCAA gymnastics regional in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on a stretcher after the accident. The 5-foot senior from Huntersville, North Carolina, was attempting a handspring double front on her first tumbling pass when she landed awkwardly and suffered the gruesome injury.
Trainers and medical staff tended to Cerio for almost 10 minutes before she was taken off the floor on a stretcher.
Cerio later took to Instagram late Sunday to announce that she will be retiring as a gymnast.
She wrote:
Friday night was my final night as a gymnast. After 18 years I am hanging up my grips and leaving the chalk behind. I couldn’t be prouder of the person that gymnastics has made me to become. It’s taught me hard work, humility, integrity, and dedication, just to name a few. It’s given me challenges and road blocks that I would have never imagined that has tested who I am as a person. It may not have ended the way I had planned, but nothing ever goes as planned.

The Nigerian woman, Ugo Treasure was labeled a witch for being barren, by another woman identified as Onweremadu Jane.
According to a social media user who shared the report, the face-off occurred when the Ugo was newly married with no child. One Ijeoma wrote on Facebook;

President Buhari has once again responded to some Nigerians that have tagged him ”Baba Go Slow” since he assumed office in 2015.
Speaking during a meeting he had with Nigerians residing in Dubai yesterday April 9th, President Buhari said he doesn’t care if he is called “Baba go slow” as long as he did not loot the country’s treasury.
“I may be ‘Baba go slow’ but I didn’t loot,” President Buhari said when he was asked questions about his fight against corruption and on treasury looters.
The president also said he is going slowly because he does not want to make the mistake he made when he was as a military head of state when he sent many to prison without been tried in court.
His words ;
“So, whoever calls me ‘Baba go slow’, I’m very cautious of historical antecedent. Since I was in a hurry, I was locked up, I’m going slow so that I can survive.
I ‘bark but I cannot bite, Baba go slow,’ I have once ruled this country, some of you know that once upon a time I came in uniform and what I did was to arrest from the president downward. The president, Vice President, the governor’s and ministers, other than the president and the Vice President, the others, I put them in Kiri-Kiri, and I told them they are guilty until they can prove themselves innocent.
“And you know subsequently what happened- we put about six tribunals base on the geopolitical zones, and those who were ministers and governors were asked to justify what they have in the banks and physical on the ground relative to their legitimate earnings.
“There were only two Nigerians then to my knowledge who were found to be very Honourable, both of them are dead now: Biliaminu Usman, a junior minister, from Jigawa State, and Adamu Chiroma, a minister of finance and governor of central bank.
“They were incredible Nigerians. But you know what happened, eventually, I myself was arrested, I was put in detention for three and a quarter years, luckily for me, I was not stupid, I didn’t take anybody’s money, so there was no bad publicity for me because they couldn’t find anything against me.
“Eventually I was released, and that was why I made up my mine since the bulk is partisan politics, I joined the partisan politics. You also know what happened, I tried three times, and I managed to succeed the fourth time.”
A video of an angry police officer harassing a student of the Delta State University, after going through his phone and concluding “it was too expensive,” is making the rounds on social media.
In the video which was shared on Twitter, the officer could be heard saying that in his 13 years in service, he has only been able to buy a N15, 000 worth of phone as he’s not been able to afford the expensive phone the student is using.
In anger, he reportedly smashed the phone on the ground. The incident, according to the twitter user who posted the video, happened in Okpe yesterday April 9th.
The matter dragged for a very long time and the students were prevented from proceeding on the trip with the other passengers. The highlight of the confrontation was, however, when the officer angrily slapped the boy and smashed his phone on the ground.
Media personality, Bolanle Olukanni has shared pictures which show her rocking a dress that reveals the stretch marks she has on her shoulders.

Nipsey Hussle was shot by his killer, suspected to be Eric Holder, in plain view of a surveillance camera, and footage shows the shooter opening fire 3 different times on Nipsey before kicking his body and fleeing the scene. Two other people were shot, but they survived.
Nipsey’s brutal murder sent shock waves throughout Los Angeles and beyond, with celebs and sports stars paying tribute to the slain rapper in many different ways. Candlelight vigils are being held across the globe and a massive memorial service will be held at Staples Center Thursday.

A married man has landed in trouble after pictures of him frolicking with a female subordinate emerged online – in the midst of his ongoing sexual harassment charges.
The man who has been identified as Christopher Tendekayi Mundembe, is the Human Resources regional manager at Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority, ZESA).
He appears in the photos with Tsakani Chauke, a Midlands State University Student who recently completed her internship at the power utility.
When reached for comment by H-Metro, Mundembe said,
My mobile was stolen last week and I am still to find out who exactly leaked the photographs as all my contacts received the photos. I replaced the line and upon switching it on I received several calls concerning the photographs.
Chauke on the other hand also said that she was not aware how the photos had leaked. She went on to say,
I never asked him if he was together with his wife. Also, we last communicated long back and I was not aware that he still had the photographs.
Mundembe is also facing charges of sexually harassing another student who was on attachment at the power utility.
Mundembe is alleged to have called the student into his office and demanded a hug. When the student refused, Mundembe allegedly grabbed and fondled the student’s breasts and buttocks without consent.
The victim initially reported the matter internally, but when she saw that nothing was being done she escalated the matter and reported the case to the police.
Mundembe is expected back in court on the 15th of April.
