Former BBN housemate, Alex has deactivated her Instagram account, just few days after the Big Brother Naija Reunion show ended.
Though why Alex deactivated her Instagram account is yet to be revealed, however it should be noted that this decision came after she amassed over 1 million followers on the platform.
A quick check on Naomi Adenuga, her manager’s Instagram and Twitter account revealed that no statement explaining the decision behind the move was passed on.
Five men of Nigerian descent have been arrested in connection with a daring armed robbery at a money exchange house in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The suspects, in their 20s, according to the police, stole currencies worth over Dh2m during a seven-minute robbery at the Al Tauwain branch of the Al Ansari Exchange around midnight on March 20.
The police said they had recovered foreign and UAE currencies worth Dh2.3m from the suspects, according to gulfnews.com. Giving details of the incident at a press conference in Sharjah, the Commander-in-chief of the Sharjah Police, Major General Saif Ziri Al Shamsi, said, “Four of the suspects entered the exchange and attacked its employees, while the fifth was waiting for them in a car outside.
“The suspects also threatened the employees with sharp weapons before taking away cash. The whole operation lasted seven minutes.” The suspects reportedly smashed the panel at the exchange with hammers and jumped inside the counter, where the safe box was kept. Two of the exchange employees allegedly sustained minor injuries while resisting the suspects.
Al Shamsi said by the time the police were informed about the incident, the suspects had escaped, adding that the employees failed to activate the alarm to alert the police. The alarm went off four minutes after the raid, which gave the suspects a chance to escape, he noted. However, the police managed to catch up with them through surveillance camera footage.
The gang had reportedly travelled in a used car, which led the police to the first suspect within 48 hours of the crime. As it turned out, the gang members had spread themselves out in other emirates after the robbery to escape notice and had planned to communicate with one another through their Facebook accounts.
Al Shamsi said the police, which had formed a special team, traced their whereabouts and raided their hideouts in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi. All the suspects were arrested with the help of the police forces in the respective emirates. During the raids, the police recovered the stolen money and sharp weapons. According to the police, three of the suspects had resident visas, while two of them were on visiting visas.
The head of the gang had entered the UAE just two days before the robbery and all the five were said to have confessed to the crime and said that they intended to leave the country after the operation. It was gathered that the case had been referred to the public prosecution office for further action. Fifteen Nigerians, including four women, were arrested for illegal stay during the search operations.
The father of football fan, Kolade Johnson, who was killed by trigger-happy SARS officers at a football viewing center in Lagos last Sunday March 31st, has broken his silence on the unfortunate incident.
In an interview with Punch, the bereaved father of the deceased, Alhaji Remi Lukman, narrated how an officer who declared he must kill someone when his team stormed the viewing center that day, eventually killed his son.
My son was murdered here on Sunday March 31st at about 4.30pm by the Anti-cultism team of police officers. I don’t want anybody framing things up.
What I really needed was two things. One was immediate, the other procedurally. The immediate one is police report which will enable the mortuary to collect the corpse. The second one which is procedurally is justice over the death of my son. I want those repsonsible to be fished out and be brought to book.
All these boys being killed are all youths, they all have potentials. These are the tomorrow of Nigeria. If you just decided willfully after making a statement that you are going to kill somebody here today and you actually killed somebody. That was the statement that came out from the mouth of the officer that fired the shot. Thereafter he shot in the air and two stray bullets directed at the crowd, then we need a more organized police force.
We need a police force that will put the interest of the citizens at heart We need a police force that will dutifully handle their job. We need a police force that will add to the progress of youths, not the one that will be killing them like the one that happened on Sunday. I want the men to be brought to book I want them to be brought to justice. I want them to be giving the justice that is due” he said

As of 8am on Monday, Mrs Olufunke Odebiyi had yet to know that her son, Kolade Johnson, had been killed by operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad of the Lagos State Police Command.
In her usual routine, she sent a message to all her children, including Kolade, on Monday to wish them good tidings for the new month, not knowing that Kolade had been killed the previous evening.
The message, which was made available to PUNCH Metro read, “May Almighty God clothe your days with favour and divine upliftment now and beyond. May he be your shield and protect all that he has given to you. God will mark you and your family out of danger and untimely death. You will enjoy the full benefit of God. The surveillance video of Nipsey Hussle shooting at Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles on Sunday has emerged, few hours after a vigil was held in his honour.
From the surveillance video of Nipsey Hussle shooting, the suspect was spotted in a red shirt walking quickly toward the front of the store before he shot the rapper three times. After the initial shot, he returns and shoots again and then shoots a third time.
He then kicks Nipsey before bolting toward the alley, which is where the first video began. Before the alleged shooter killed Nipsey, he reportedly got into a heated conversation with the Grammy Award-nominated rapper. Police said the man believe Nip snitched.
Although the actual shooting is impossible to see, a victim does collapse to the ground. It hasn’t been determined if the gunman is one of the people running from the scene, but there were evidently several eye witnesses. Footage of the aftermath shows emergency responders wheeling Nip to the ambulance, while actively delivering life-saving efforts. He later died at a local hospital. Police believe the shooter is a black male in his 20s who escaped in a vehicle driven by a woman.

A new ANTI-GAY law which comes into effect from next week will punish homosexual sex and adultery with death in the small southeast Asian kingdom of Brunei.

Human rights groups were quick to express horror at the penal code, which will also order amputation as a punishment for theft. “Brunei must immediately halt its plans to implement these vicious punishments, and revise its Penal Code in compliance with its human rights obligations. The international community must urgently condemn Brunei’s move to put these cruel penalties into practice,” Rachel Chhoa-Howard, Brunei Researcher at Amnesty International, said in a statement.
The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, April 1, 2019, arraigned one Ismail Yunus before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court 2, Ibadan, Oyo State.
He was arraigned on an Eight-count charge bordering on Advance Free Fraud for obtaining money by false pretense and sending pornographic images, among others while posing as a nude woman and using such as a bait to defraud unsuspecting victims.
He allegedly defrauded two American citizens, Steve Harvey and David Beeck, at different times, claiming to be the ‘woman’ in the pornographic images to defraud his victims of their money.
One of the counts reads: “That you Ismail Yunus sometime in 2018, at Oyo town, Oyo state, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of $70 USD (Seventy United State of America Dollars), only from Steve Harvey, a United State of American Citizen when you falsely represented that you a woman (knox Ruby from Dayton Ohio, United State of America), which representation you knew to be false and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 1(1)(a) and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offenses Act 2006”.
The accused pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the offenses when read to him.
Due to his ‘not guilty’ plea, the prosecution counsel, Shamsudden Bahir, prayed the court for a trial date and an order to remand the accused person in prison custody pending the determination of his case.
The defense counsel, Okunyemi Tajudeen, made an oral bail application on behalf of his client, but the judge refused to grant his request.
The case was adjourned to May 14, 2019 for trial, while the defendant was to be remanded in the Agodi prison custody.
The questions of two young children of a woman killed by their father back in February, in Thailand, have melted the hearts of online users.
Their aunt, who posted the story, spoke of the tragedy of broken promises in the couple’s relationship and of the difficulty of looking after the children who were asking why dad wasn’t there and when was mum coming home.
The 3-year-old in his innocence rattled the bars of the cells and said he wanted to take his dad out and see mum at the temple.

A Lagos high court, sitting at Igbosere has once again ordered the arrest of Monalisa Chinda over tax evasion.
The presiding judge, Adedayo Akintoye, renewed the order for her arrest following her failure to appear in court for trial, since 2017.

President Buhari today in Abuja, assured Nigerians that he will put in all efforts to ensure the best for the country and the citizens when he begins a second term in office on May 29, 2019, while appreciating all those that voted him during the elections.
Receiving the Board of Trustees and Advisory Council of Gidauniyar Jihar Katsina (Katsina State Development Fund) led by Justice Mamman Nasir at the State House, President Buhari said his campaign to all states of the federation was an eye opener.

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has said if the February 2 helicopter crash that occurred in Kogi State was fatal, there would have been trouble, even for the Kogi State government.
He spoke on Sunday during a special thanksgiving service to celebrate the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held at the old Banquet Hall of the State House.
He said if those on board had died, there would have been too many assumptions on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Popular Nigerian Instagram comedian, Funny Toheeb is grateful to be alive after the car he was traveling in had a brake failure earlier today in Lagos.
The comedian, moments ago, took to social media to give thanks to God for sparing his life in the accident – he also lamented that he is car-less now.
In a photo shared on his Instagram page, the frontal of the car could be seen totally damaged in the accident that was caused by an apparent brake failure.

In a new and shocking revelation, it’s being discovered that the display of love by ex-BBNaija housemate, Lolu to his fellow housemate, Anto, during the show appears to have all been scripted as he revealed he was never in love with her.
Last night during the grand finale of the reunion show, the housemates had a polygraph test and the test examiner inquired if Lolu loved Anto – he answered in the negative and the test result showed he was truthful.

Actress Tonto Dikeh has revealed that next cosmetic surgery will cost way over N5million to achieve. The divorced mother of one made this known via an Instagram post.

Tonto Dikeh has now revealed that she is set for a third surgery and that the cost will be way more than the amount she spent on her first surgery.

Btw my 1st surgery was 5million second surgery 4million and the 3rd which im yet to go for is wey more than the first cos its my last!! “
