Earlier today, the Anambra State Police Command paraded three suspects (a man and two women) over the viral video of a woman who was stripped naked and was beaten severally.
The suspects paraded include; Mr Ifeanyi Azotani, 40 year old artisan, the wife, Tochukwu, 43 and her niece, Ogochukwu Nwankwo, 33.
One of the suspects who was interrogated by journalists, Ogochukwu Nwankwo (the niece), said she was about going out when she received a call from Tochukwu Azotani beckoning her to come to the house because she found out that her husband has been sleeping around.
She said when she went there she remembered how her ex-husband took her son to stay his with his girlfriend and this provoked her. She said this was what made her angry to flog the alleged mistress mercilessly and humiliate her.
She said that’s not really her character as she admitted she made a mistake.
The wife, Tochukwu Azotani, said that she saw a chat between her husband and his mistress on his phone the second time after they had previously met in the hotel, that was why she decided to lure the lady to the house (with the help of the husband) and disgrace her. She claimed she didn’t know that the action meted out on the lady would go far like that.
Meanwhile, the victim of the assault, who is a widow and a mother of one, said that her career has been killed both in Nigeria and outside the country following the viral nude video and she does not want to be compensated.
She revealed that why she was being tortured, the man, Ifeanyi Azotani who invited her to the house – was there looking and did nothing to save her.
The suspects confessed to the crimes but denied releasing the video. They claimed it was a third party that collected the video from them on the day of the incident and released same.

A High Court sitting in Akure, Ondo state has sentenced to death the killer boyfriend Chukwudi Onweniwe of an HND student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Nifemi Adeyeoye to death by hanging.
Chukwudi Onweniwe was dragged before the court in May 22 2017 on a four count charge of action endangering life, kidnapping and abduction, rape and murder. .
According to the Prosecutor, Jumoke Ogunjebi said the accused person abducted the deceased and took her “to a farm near Alayere, Ogbese, raped her and then snuffed life out of her by choking and strangulating her to death.
The police prosecutor, Inspector John Aderibigbe said that one of the motorcyclists who testified in the case reported the suspicious movement of the accused person and the deceased at the police station.
Aderibigbe said that the case was later transferred to Special Anti Cultism Squad in Akure. Testifying, the mother of the deceased, Mrs Adeyeoye said her daughter had informed her she was going to visit her friend on the day she went missing. Adeyeoye claimed she did not know the accused person though he was said to be her daughter’s boyfriend.
According to her ” l did not see my daughter again after she got missing until police men invited me to come to the mortuary to identify a corpse whether it was that of my daughter or not. Also giving evidences the two motorcyclists who saw the lover birds together on the ill fated day told the court that they conveyed them to a spot in town.
Justice Bola said that an autopsy was carried out by one Dr. Pelemo, a staff of Ondo state Specialist Hospital, Akure who described the abnormal state of the deceased’s neck and fracture of the skull. According to him “it suggested that the deceased had been attacked by an object with a blunt edge which led to her death. The judge stated that the accused person had confessed to the officers of the squad according to the testimony of one Ayoola Famoriyo and had taken his team to the spot where he hid the corpse of the deceased.
“There, the accused person had pointed to the spot where she kept the corpse and it was taken to the mortuary while the stone found near her head with which he had purportedly hit her skull was taken to the police station as an exhibit. “Famoriyo had further testified that a search of the accused person’s room had revealed the deceased’s belongings such as a school bag, wallet, some GNLD products, her phone and 22 passport photographs.
The father of the accused person Nwosu Onweniwe while giving evidence in defense of his son told the court that the deceased was his son’s girlfriend who had been very helpful to him.
Meanwhile, after examining all facts of the case, Justice Bola while delivering judgement said that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt in three out of the four count charges The Judge observed that the prosecution failed to prove the case of rape against the accused person.
He therefore found him guilty as charged on three counts and sentenced him as charged. Justice Bola declared that “On the count of kidnapping, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, on strangulating and choking, he was sentenced to death by hanging and on murder, he was also sentenced to death by hanging.
In a previous confession to the police, Chukwudi denied that he killed her for rituals as he claimed that he had killed her for the fun of it.
“I did not remove any part of her body; I only killed her for the fun of it. I made love with her in the bush before killing her. I am not a cultist. It was when I killed her that I realised I made a big mistake and I wept bitterly,” he said.
He added that the devil pushed him to do it.

Two nurses working at Trinity Clinic, Meiran, Lagos, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police command for allegedly selling a woman’s baby and deceiving her that she had a stillbirth.
It was gathered that the nurses, Mrs. Marbel Onochel and Dorcas Omitogun, allegedly sold the baby for N350,000 to Mrs. Helen Okoh, a resident of Ajah in Lagos,who has also been arrested.
The suspects were alleged to have told the baby’s parents that it died and they buried the stillborn to save the family the trauma.
Besides allegedly engaging in child theft and trafficking, it was learnt that Onochel, a Delta State indigene, also ran an illegal traditional hospital at Meiran.
Trouble, however, reportedly started after the woman’s family insisted that they wanted to see the body, but the suspects could provide it.
It was gathered that when the family insisted on seeing the body, the nurses claimed that the baby’s head was bad, prompting the family to report at the police station.
The suspects were arrested and during investigation, they confessed to have sold the baby to Mrs. Okoh.
It was gathered that Onochel kept N250,000 from the sale and gave Omitogun N100,000.
During interrogation, the woman who bought the baby said she was desperate for a child because she was unable to conceive, as she had fibroid.
The police spokesman Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), confirmed the arrest and that the baby had been recovered from the buyer.
He said that the suspects will be charged to court after investigation

A young lady has gone missing after travelling to Abeokuta to meet a guy she met online. To make matters worse, the man she claims she was going to visit has denied knowledge of her or her whereabouts.
The lady, named Debby, told her friends that she was going to visit a man named Ayo. She gave them his name and phone number and informed them that she met him online. She asked that if they do not hear from her, they should contact him.
The woman has not been heard from since she left for the man’s house and her friends have contacted Ayo as she instructed. But Ayo has denied knowledge of the woman and proceeded to block all the woman’s friends.

Barely two weeks after a school in Itafaji collapsed killing 20 persons including children, another building has collapsed in Lagos Island.
According to reports, the latest building is a residential one situated on Kakawa Street. No casualty has been recorded as the building had been marked for demolition and the occupants had vacated the building.

Medical Professionals were left dumbfounded when a postman who had ‘died’ of cardiac arrest came back to life as he was being wheeled to the morgue.
Joao Araujo, 48, bent over at the wheel while taking his wife to work, and after six hours of trying to bring him back, doctors told his family he’d died. But, as nurses were wheeling him from intensive care to the morgue, they noticed he was moving and tests revealed circulation had spontaneously returned to Mr Araujo’s heart.
Araujo was able to return to work there weeks after the incident.
A group of medics said there was no exact explanation for what happened to him.
Araujo is known as the ‘Miracle Man’ on the cardiac ward at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he resurrected 10 years ago.
Sharing his story 10 years on, Araujo, from Linden, Gloucester, said:
It changed me. I give more value to all the things every day. Every single day.
I say thank you that I am alive, I say thank you that I have a job.
I give more value to my family and my friends.
When I was at the hospital they had no explanation for my problem so people started calling me the ‘Miracle Man’.
Unlike everything else in the body below the eyes, they said that the brain is a mystery, it’s like a Pandora’s Box.
They did not have the knowledge to know the reason behind what happened. Doctors can’t believe I am alive without any damage in my heart, brain or body.
Araujo visits the cardiology ward every six months for a check-up and is still known by staff as the ‘Miracle Man’.
Ex-BBNaija Double Wahala Housemate, Ahneeka has admitted to being a flirt in an interview she had during the fifth episode of the BBNaija Reunion held for class 2018.
During the interview, the show’s host Ebuka Uchendu asked:
‘there was a perception that you were a flirt, and then it also looked like you were putting it up. Why did it look scripted?’.

Popular Nigerian singer, Waje, says she has gotten to the point that she does not feel like music is working for her.
The singer whose real name is Aituaje Aina Vivian Iruobe has said she may quit music due to lack of funds to promote her work, especially her latest Red Velvet.
In a video uploaded on her YouTube page titled ‘Music is not for me’, the artiste said her latest album, which she thinks is one of the best that has come out of Nigeria, has been largely ignored.
“I’m frustrated, I am really tired. I no longer believe that this thing is working. I am respecting in this thing that we do but there is also bowing out when the applause is loudest,” she told members of her team whom she identified as Tolani and Fatima.
“I do not have faith in it anymore. Nobody will say that I have failed or anything. The point is that I am not willing to do this thing anymore. Do you know how much I have invested in this career thing?
“There is nothing wrong with change. There are other things I am good at; maybe it is fair to give it a rest and try other things. If you people do not understand, it is my money that I am spending in this thing and I am tired of putting my money in something that I do not have faith in.

Fast rising actress, Josephine Nwaghanata in a recent interview talked about her biggest selling point.
According to her, ‘my boobs get me the most attention, even when I try to cover it up. Some people tell me that they also like my eyes and legs. They say my eyes are captivating but I love my boobs more.

Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, on Saturday, said he is still the duly elected governor of the state regardless of Friday’s judgement of the state Election Petitions Tribunal.
He enjoined the public to disregard the insinuations that he had been sacked, saying he was confident of retaining his mandate at the appellate court. He spoke in Osogbo while inspecting some ongoing road and drainage projects in the state capital.
The governor said the outcome of the ‘lower court’ did not, in any way, affect the validity of the votes freely and willingly given to him by the people of the state. He said since the constitution allowed him to file an appeal against the judgement, he remained the legitimate governor of the state. 
Oyetola said, “I am confident that our mandate will be reaffirmed at the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. As you all know, it was a split judgement, telling us that it was not a unanimous decision. This is part of our strength at the appellate court.
“I must correct the impression that I have been removed from office. I remain the governor of Osun up until all the electoral litigation is finalised. My visit to this site is in furtherance of our commitment to ensuring a better life for all residents of the state and to demonstrate that governance brought about by our government continues.”
The governor, who had earlier received the leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress at the Government House, assured the supporters of the party that he would become victorious at the end of the litigation. He called on the party loyalists to remain calm and expressed confidence in the judiciary to deliver justice.
