Divorce Your Wife, Lose Your House To Her, Court Rules

A woman that has children for her husband and had married him before a house is built has the right to live in the house with her children even after divorce under the provisions of the Married Woman Property Act 1882, a court held on Friday in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The belief that patriarchy is so entrenched in the Nigerian system and women have no rights even under the law has been proved to be an erroneous one, majorly propounded by those ignorant of the rights provided under the law, the court said in a landmark judgement.

The provisions of the Married Woman Property Act 1882 formed the basis of the pronouncement of the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Munta Abimbola, on Friday in a property suit between a divorced couple, Toyin Arajulu, formerly known as Mrs Toyin James and her former husband, Mr James Monday.

The court held that “a husband who marries a wife and builds a house during the pendency of the marriage stands the risk of losing that house if he later divorces the woman who had children for him unless such woman, of her own volition, leaves the matrimonial home.”

Justice Abimbola, while ruling on the matter, emphasised what is known in law as the “palm tree justice,” which indicates that it does not matter in whose name the property stands or who pays what (on the property) and in what proportion as determination of such matters transcends all rights, legal or even equitable, but simply what order is fair and just in the circumstances of the case, citing the case of Home Vs Home (1962) 1 WLR 1124 at 1128.S 17 Married Woman Property Act 1882, which is a statute of general application.

Toyin Arajulu had filed the suit against her ex-husband, Monday James, who she married under Native Law and Customs in 1997 and for whom she had four children.

She claimed that while she was married to him, they had put resources together and built two flats of three bedrooms at Ayedun in Akure, Ondo State and procured a plot of land at No 7, Fadana Biala Estate, Olodo, Ibadan, where they built a three-bedroom flat and a storey building which is still under construction before their divorce in July 2014.

She averred that before the divorce, her husband had moved out of their matrimonial home in Olodo but only came constantly to try to forcibly eject her and the children, usually accompanied by thugs who attacked her and her children.

She added that on August 15, 2014, one of her children, Bidemi James, was wounded in one of the episodes of attempted violent eviction and the sum of N530,000 from her business taken by her ex-husband and his accomplices.

She claimed that he had concluded plans to sell off the joint property without her consent and had continued to victimise her and the children, asking the court for a declaration that the property is jointly owned by the two of them and an order that the landed property with the three-bedroom flat and uncompleted storey building be sold and proceeds divided equally between them and an order of perpetual injunction restraining James from harassing her and the children.

In his counter claim and defence, the ex-husband stated that when he bought and constructed the Akure property, his wife was a full housewife and had no contribution to the project, adding that the situation was the same for the Ibadan property as his wife only signed as a witness as she had no job and only depended on what he gave her to take care of the children when he travelled out of the country.

According to him, she was only trying to fraudulently take over his property, adding that her claims were vexatious, gold digging and an abuse of court process.

He also asked the court to declare that the receipts of purchase his ex-wife presented were forged and that she should vacate possession of the property which she had refused to give up despite service of statutory seven days owner’s intention to recover possession and perpetual injunction restraining her from occupying the building.

Justice Abimbola, while ruling on the case, held that the landed property at No 7, Fadana Biala Estate, Olodo, Ibadan, together with the three-bedroom flat and uncompleted storey building is jointly owned by the two.

On the second relief that both buildings be sold as requested by Toyin, Justice Abimbola held that, “I will not give such orders in respect of the two buildings. Particularly, Section 17 Married Women Law of Oyo state Cap 83, Laws of Oyo state 2000 gives a court the discretion as it thinks fit on the issues of title of possession to property.

“Section 18 also enjoins the court to treat such property as a joint property if the issue has to do with the maintenance of a matrimonial home. My order to this effect is that the completed three-bedroom flat on the land be retained as the matrimonial property and the four children are entitled as beneficial owners by way of a resulting trust created for them by their parents. The mother, as long as she remains unmarried, is directed to be in possession undisturbed in order to take care of her children.

“The uncompleted storey building is ordered to be sold by both parties and the proceeds divided in equal share. The half share shall go to the wife for the maintenance of the children. A divorced wife has no business being maintained,” Justice Abimbola held.

The court also restrained James from harassing Toyin any further or disturbing the quiet possession of the property by her and the children, holding that, “the rationale is that a husband who marries a wife and builds a house during the pendency of the marriage stands the risk of losing that house if he later divorces the woman who had children for him unless such woman, of her own volition, leaves the matrimonial home. Also, a divorced woman is not entitled to any maintenance allowance but maintenance of the children by way of settlement.”

Gay man forced by his in-laws to dress up as a woman on his wedding because they didn’t want guests to know their son is Gay (Photos)

A Gay man has revealed how his in-laws who couldn’t accept that their son was gay made him dress up in bridal clothes and pose as their son’s bride on their wedding day.

Roy Singh, 29, from Manchester met his future husband when he was 18 at a family wedding and moved in with his partner’s family members after lying to his parents that he was moving to London for work.

He recalled: “He started singing love songs to me and told me I had a beautiful smile. Later he made a move and we kissed.”

According to him, they started dating in secret as Roy was afraid his own Sikh family would disown him if they found out.

He said: “Two years later he asked me to marry him. I thought this was my very own fairytale love story.”

Days later Roy received a call from his future mother-in-law.

“We met up on our own, It was the first time I’d met her. She said I was very good-looking and her son had chosen well.

“But she told me that she comes from a big Indian family and there’s a lot of honour involved. She said if I wanted to marry him I would have to dress as a woman on the wedding day. I would also need to pretend to be a woman for a while to convince the community her son isn’t gay.”

He added: “I was gobsmacked. I thought, ‘How did that even come into her head?’ She had even brought a basket of women’s clothes and gold bracelets with her.”

He continued: ‘Me and his mum would go shopping for the wedding and she would tell me I was going to be her best friend.

“Yet she never asked what I wanted. She chose everything. I couldn’t even pick the date. She just asked for money so I sold my brand new car and gave her £9,000 to pay for it all.”

During the wedding at the family’s house, Roy said he nearly passed out due to fear that the guest might get to know he’s actually wearing a dress.

“She told everyone in the community I was a widow and an orphan so I had no guests. I was forced to dress as a bride because they couldn’t accept a gay wedding.

“This was supposed to be the best day of my life – it was the worst day of my life. There were 450 people staring at me and only nine people knew the truth.

“They all kept saying, ‘She’s so beautiful’, and, ‘Does she have any sisters for our sons?’. I was thinking, ‘Come on, you’re pulling my leg here’.

“My heart was beating so fast. I thought they were going to find out I was a man. But no one asked any questions. Luckily I was able to wear a veil for the majority of the ceremony.”

Roy also claimed that it got to some point, his mother in law started calling him, her daughter-in-law and told him he must be seen on high-heels, full make-up and jewellery.

“My mum-in-law started calling me her daughter-in-law,” he said. “There was a time when I came down in slippers, not really dressed. She said I needed to maintain myself at all times and never come down again like that.

“I was so confused as it was just me and her in the house. I kept thinking, ‘Does she not realise I’m a man and this is fake?’”

Roy said she treated him “worse than Cinderella”, making him work 18 hours a day doing demeaning domestic chores.

“I needed to be up at 6am to cook the breakfast. I had to cook all three meals a day. But I wasn’t allowed to eat. She would tell me I was too fat and I wouldn’t pass as a woman.”

Roy whose own parents found out his secret, later disowned him when photos from the wedding appeared on Facebook, exposing him as the bride

After nine months of marriage, the 29-year-old said he left his husband and in-laws and moved on with his life.

He said: “Sometimes I would look at myself in the mirror and think, ‘Who is this person looking back at me?’

“I wanted to rip the clothes and wig off. I was dying inside. Roy eventually left with nowhere to go and ended up in a homeless shelter.

At first, he was relieved to be wearing men’s clothes again. But he added: “I felt out of place when I stopped dressing as a woman. I didn’t know who I was anymore.”

Man reveals why he drinks his 30-day old urine every morning

A man has revealed he feels better than ever after he started drinking more than a pint of his 30-day old urine every morning – and claims it tastes like bitter ale.

Fabian Farquharson, 37, from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, first started the bizarre practice three years ago after reading about the purported health benefits online.

He explained:

‘I’D BEEN RESEARCHING ALTERNATIVE MEDICINES WHEN I READ ABOUT DRINKING AGED URINE. I’VE ALWAYS BEEN OPEN-MINDED ABOUT THAT SORT OF THING, SO I DECIDED TO GIVE IT A GO AND DRINK IT FRESH.

‘IT TASTED A BIT LIKE A BITTER ALE INITIALLY, IT WAS QUITE STRONG BUT NOT A TERRIBLE TASTE AND I HAD NO PROBLEM FINISHING THE GLASS.

‘IT WAS ABOUT HALF AN HOUR LATER THAT I STARTED TO FEEL AMAZING, I WAS ABSOLUTELY BURSTING WITH ENERGY. NOW I’D NEVER GO A DAY WITHOUT IT AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.’

Fabian revealed that his friends and family ‘weren’t that surprised’ – because he has always been a bit off the wall in his approach to health.

After enjoying the ‘benefits’ of fresh urine, he quickly began to leave some for up to a month – or until it reaches the desired PH level of nine.

The idea, Fabian says, is that by ageing it the urine goes through a ‘magnification process’ and any alleged benefits will be more potent.

Explaining the process of ageing his urine, Fabian said:

‘I store it in glass containers like mason jars, label it with the date and then leave it for around 30 days.

Cleaner finds more than £300,000 cash in brown envelope on London bus and hands it to police

A honest cleaner has left many happy after he found more than £300,000 in cash on a London bus and handed it over to the police instead of keeping the large amount of money that could’ve changed his life.

The cleaner, hired by Cordant Cleaning, found the money in a brown envelope after an absent-minded passenger left it there. The man, whose identity hasn’t been disclosed yet, returned it to the Met police.

Speaking on the various items they find on buses, Cordant boss Guy Pakenham said:

‘More often than not I’m left shocked when my team tell me about the disgusting things they have to get rid of when cleaning buses up and down the UK.

‘But I can only praise their dedication and good humour.

‘They don’t seem to be fazed by anything.

‘Thankfully our staff are fully trained and equipped to deal with cleaning hazards like these.

‘But we can only urge passengers that next time they defecate on the floor of a bus, or throw up their own false teeth, please remember to take all of your items with you.’

Popular Nigerian Prophet Tells Atiku To Run For Presidency One More Time

The General Overseer of the Hour of Mercy Prayer Ministry Worldwide (Alaseyori), Prophet Muyideen Kasali, has urged Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to give presidential contest another trial, Punch Metro reports.

Kasali said the fact that Atiku did not win the 2019 presidential election did not mean he could not win election for the exalted office in future.

A statement from the Head of Edidi Children School Foundation and wife of the General Overseer, Mrs. Oredolapo Awosika-Kasali, made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, said the cleric gave the admonition during the February edition of Hour of Mercy programme which rounded off a 27-day prayer and fasting to mark Kasali’s birthday celebration at the headquarters in Ibadan.

The cleric stated: “There is no loser in an election, but a learner. Atiku can still rule Nigeria in no distant future. God sparing our lives, 2023 will soon be here; he can contest again.

“It is not about age, but what he has to offer. He should join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari to make Nigeria great again and get her out of her numerous challenges,” the cleric said.

He also charged Buhari and other stakeholders in the electoral process to ensure that free, fair, transparent and credible governorship and House of Assembly elections in Saturday.

“My ex used voodoo to marry me” – Popular actress reveals

Actress, Fortune Marshal has disclosed that her ex-husband used voodoo to marry her – according to the Nigerian-based Ghanaian/Jamaican actress, she has finally learned her lesson on relationships, the hard way.

Popular actress reveals

Marshall also revealed that her ex-husband was emotionally and physically abusive towards her. She also stated that after they ended things, the said man took her kids from her for many years, before she eventually got them back.

Speaking with Sunnews, the mother of two said;

“I started acting since 2008 in Ghana. I came to Nigeria in 2009 and joined the industry in 2010. I was a product of domestic violence. I dropped out of the university in my second year due to financial difficulties. It was also the year I got pregnant for the man who got me through voodoo (charms). Life wasn’t easy for me then. I had to do odd jobs to cater for myself because the man wasn’t helping but rather abusing me physically and emotionally.

“I was under his spell until God saved me from him. We had two kids; he took them from me; for many years I didn’t see them until two years ago. I went and took the younger one in his absence. I have one son with me presently. For now, I don’t want to think about re-marriage, I just want to focus on my career, myself and my son, because we need a lot of catching up to do. Maybe after that, I will give my heart another chance to love.”

On if she decides to give marriage a second try, Marshal said it will be a person she shares “same values and visions” with her.

“Most times I tell ladies, there is nothing like Mr Right when you share the same value and vision with a man, then you are compatible,” she stated.

The Shocking Story Of Lucy, The Young Lady Who Tried To Kill Herself 100 Times (Photos)

A young woman woman who has attempted suicide over 100 times is calling on Instagram to enforce its new ban photos of self-harm and eating disorders.

Lucy Grainger, from Belfast, says it is too easy to find disturbing pictures and videos on social media.

The 21-year-old is recovering from bulimia, and spent her teenage years in-and-out of mental health facilities.

She says pro-anorexia, pro-suicide and pro-self-harm sites on social media spurred her on, showing graphic videos of users cutting themselves, displaying skeletal weight-loss photos, and even detailing suicide attempts.

Lucy now regularly reports these accounts to Instagram moderators, but shockingly she claims she is often told they don’t breach the site’s guidelines.

She said: “I just want Instagram to listen to its users. These images are too easy to find – in fact you don’t even have to go looking for them.

“It can get really dark. I’ve seen one video on Instagram of a girl standing at a bridge, saying she was going to jump off.”

Lucy, pictured as a teenager, when she was battling with her mental health – her scars visible

It comes after The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign to raise awareness of mental health and suicide, and to remind anyone struggling with tough times that there is help at hand.

HARD UPBRINGING

Lucy had a difficult childhood, losing her dad to a heart attack when she was just three years old.

She was bullied in school because of her acne, and by the time she was 12 she’d begun self-harming.

“One of my friends showed me her scars,” she remembers. “I thought that if it helped her, then it might help me too.

“The first time I used our kitchen scissors to make scratches on my arms, and it progressed from there.

“I’d take apart razors, sharpeners – anything with a blade – and cut myself on my arms and thighs.

“I wore long sleeves to hide the injuries from my family and teachers.”

By the age of 13, Lucy was on a number of different medications for her skin, and in a bid to avoid having to go to school she decided to take an overdose.

She said: “I went through the bathroom cupboard and took all the tablets I could find. I just wanted it all to end. I wanted to go to bed and not wake up.

“I did wake up though. The next day I was really sick, so I told my mum I had a stomach upset. It got me off school for a few days.”

Lucy also developed bulimia, making herself vomit after meals in a bid to control her weight.

DISTURBING CONTENT

By the age of 15, she says she was taking inspiration from her social media accounts.

She explained: “I’d sit in my room for hours, just scrolling through photos of self-harm and pro-eating disorder accounts on Instagram.

“Users share tips on how to cut yourself, tips on how to throw up quietly, extreme diet plans, how to hide food, and loads of really graphic photos.

“There are so many accounts that show videos of people cutting themselves, photos of injuries and stitched wounds, pictures of young girls with skeletal frames saying how proud they are of there anorexia.

“There are stick thin models, with people saying ‘this is my goal and I don’t care if I die getting there’.

“People think Instagram is all cuddly cat photos and fitness inspo, but there’s a lot of much darker inspiration on there too. If you’re feeling vulnerable, it really feeds it.”

TURNING POINT

After managing to keep her illness a secret for years, Lucy finally sought help from her family GP when she was 17, and was admitted to a mental health facility as an in-patient.

Over the next few years she was hospitalised on numerous occasions – sometimes voluntarily and other times after being sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

She was diagnosed with bulimia and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), and is now on medication.

She says she attempted suicide over 100 times, even trying to take her own life in hospital.

The turning point came two years ago, when an old school friend put her in touch with the Prince’s Trust.

Lucy is calling on the major social media sites to do more to censor explicit content

She got involved in community projects and became an outspoken advocate of mental health, giving talks in schools, universities, youth clubs and juvenile detention centres.

Last October she was elected chair of the Northern Ireland Youth Forum, and her projects involve giving peer-to-peer support and raising awareness of suicide across the province.

She is also saving towards an Open University degree and dreams of becoming a social worker.

REPORTING PROFILES

Lucy says she now as a much healthier relationship with social media and no longer uses hashtags, while reporting any disturbing content.

However she bares the scars of her ordeal, with the old wounds to her neck, chest, arms and legs still clearly visible.

She said: “I report profiles on a daily basis, but they rarely get taken down.”

The response Lucy received from Instagram said: “We reviewed the account you reported for self injury and found it does not violate our Community Guidelines.

“Reports like yours are an important part of making Instagram a safe and welcoming place for everyone.”

Lucy said she is “disgusted” with the response and is calling on the major social media sites to do more to censor explicit content.

She said: “Kids have access to this stuff. Girls as young as 13 can be sat in their bedrooms scrolling through these images, and their parents probably have no idea what they’re looking at.

“There’s some really positive stuff out there. I now have a recovery profile and have made friends with people in recovery all over the world.

“But you don’t have to go looking for disturbing content. It finds you.”

Earlier this month, Instagram announced it was making changes to make the site safer for it’s users.

The site had outlined a number of changes, including a ban on images of self-harm, posts encouraging suicide, and flagging helpful organisations to direct users who had posted self-harm related content.

When asked by The Sun Online why the profiles Lucy has reported have not been taken down, Instagram said: “We are committed to removing graphic self-harm images from Instagram and have been clear that this will take time.

“We are quickly building new technologies and are training our team of reviewers to identify and remove this content.

“We need to strike a balance between acting quickly and acting responsibly, making sure people who have posted these images and may be in distress have access to support.”

Resurrection Miracle: Pastor Alph Lukau Apologizes For Deceiving The World

Alleluia Ministries pastor, Alph Lukau, who is said to have resurrected a man who was in a coffin at the weekend, has said he regrets the incident as the man was already alive when he arrived at the church.

While speaking during a radio interview on Wednesday evening, Lukau said he was busy with a sermon on Sunday when he was interrupted and told that a person in a coffin had been brought to the church.

Pastor Alph Lukau Apologizes

“Before entering the premises of the church, the coffin began to shake, meaning the person was alive. I am really sorry for the misrepresentation of facts, the man was not dead and has never been in the mortuary as we earlier said,” Lukau explained.

When asked by the host why the man had been brought to the church in the first place, Lukau said: “I am not sure if I can make a statement that he was brought to me.

We are the house of God and I’m just a pastor serving in the house of the Lord. But I am sorry that we didn’t tell people the truth in the first place”, he added.

Pastor Alph Lukau Apologizes

Lukau noted that the man was brought to the church by his family, who believed that something would happen if he was prayed for. He added that further questions about why the man was brought to the church would be better answered by the man’s family.

“I think that they brought the person to church because they believed that God had the ability to resurrect the person, but still our brother was a live even before they brought him to church and we really apologize for not telling the truth in the first place,” he said.

Banky W talks losing the election and how his wife reacted to it

Popular Nigerian singer turned politician Banky W has spoken on his loss at the recently held National Assembly election.

Banky W talks losing

While speaking with Punch Newspaper, Banky W opened up on his political ambition – his decision to go into politics and what will keep him going for years to come.

He also spoke on his spouse, Adesua’s reaction to his loss. Read brief excerpts from the interview below,

On why he chose politics:

The reason I ventured into politics was because of my desire to impact and improve my community; the desire to do more than just talk, tweet and complain about government and the issues facing young people, and the desire to be a part of the progress we all seek. Most of us say we want a better country, but that’s where we stop. I actually went for the specific role in government that I felt I wanted to work in at this time if given the opportunity. The House of Representatives would give me an opportunity to serve the whole country as a federal lawmaker, and also to serve my local community because of the constituency development that each member of the National Assembly is responsible for. That dual role of impact at the federal and local levels is what informed my decision to attempt this race.

On losing at the polls:

I feel very grateful, even in defeat, because of the things we were able to accomplish. Just by running the kind of campaign we ran, and winning some of the major polling units in our area, especially in places like Lekki, Agungi, Idado, Northern Foreshore, Badore, etc. Even in the places where we didn’t win, we were consistently placed in the top three right alongside the two major powers that be. And we did all this with a new, unknown party with no godfather or major sponsor and in the space of three months. It shows that we can compete. You have to remember that a lot of the voters were accustomed to just picking sides between the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party. We actually earned every single vote we got, and that’s something to be proud of. We also hopefully inspired our generation enough to know that it can be done and to participate in the future. We made it to the top three in just three months; imagine what we can do with four years of consistent effort? We may not have won the election in Eti-Osa, but we won something far greater. We won their hearts.

On Adesua’s reaction to his political ambition and the eventual loss:

Her initial reaction was one of worry; she said politics in Nigeria is dirty and dangerous, and she didn’t want anything to soil my name or harm me. But I explained to her that it will always be dirty and dangerous if good people avoid it. Some of us need to get into the system to try and fix it, or it would remain rotten forever. And thank God she understood why it was necessary, and went on to support me every step of the campaign. (When I lost), she told me that she had never been more proud of anyone in her entire life and that it was an honour for her to be on my side. And then she called me her hero which was quite emotional and still is.

Failed prophecies on Buhari, Atiku 2019 presidential election – By Punchng

This article was fully culled from Punchng.com

Many Nigerian pastors and prophecies are like Siamese twins. There is hardly any salient issue they don’t make prophesy on. But most times, the fabulous predictions, usually attributed to inspiration from God, are always inaccurate.

The last presidential election received several unsolicited prophecies which particularly targeted President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party. Though the predictions appeared scary and laughable, they later turned out to be wide of the mark.

One of the prophecy merchants is a Nigerian pastor based in South Africa, Samuel Akinbodunse. The dark-skinned cleric in a video, which circulated on the Internet weeks before electioneering, walked with a measured spring in his step as he spoke to the congregation inside the capacious Freedom For All Nations Outreach church.

In a finality brooking no interference, he told the ecstatic congregation, “Please Nigerians warn Buhari that he is going beyond his boundary. That the Lord said his tenure is once and not twice. If not, he will not see the election o. If you know him and how to email the Presidency of Nigeria, please write (send) him a text (message). If he made (makes) a mistake to campaign for elections, before they vote, he will die.”

At this point, panic gripped some of the congregation, who were already standing, but clapped several times for the cleric’s damning prediction that sank into the expansive auditorium.

He continued, “And I am saying the truth, I am saying the truth. Tell him the same voice that spoke when people said Jonathan would be the President of Nigeria, the same voice is speaking to him that he must not make that mistake. Let him eat whatever he wants to eat inside (the) sugar that he is now and leave the sugar jejely. If not, he will die. That is just the message. I am not afraid of…Any man who kill (sic) me today him help me because eternity is waiting for me already. If you kill me today, many Samuels will rise tomorrow. What is the essence of killing me because there are many Samuels that will rise?”

The cleric’s prophecy is abundantly inaccurate as the presidential and National Assembly elections were not only shifted from February 16 to February 23 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Buhari also participated in electioneering with his party, and INEC later declared him winner of the election.

Akinbodunse’s prediction went off the mark as events later proved but Nigerians, via the social media, expectedly lashed out at him.

On a social network site, Nairaland, Brightest04 said, “He wants to let people know that he exists. I don’t blame him; after sleeping with other people’s wives, he intends to see things. I think these men have taken God and His name as a toy; hence they use his name vainly. And this stupidity is synonymous with Christians.”

Saying he holds a degree in Systematic Theology, Brightest04 added, “It baffles me how people roughly use the name of their creator and indeed the creator of everything in existence in a foolish way. These men are satanically-controlled and the people who listen to them have to be careful so that they don’t partake in their calamities.”

Earlier, Akinbodunse, in another sermon, which video gripped the Internet, said the country’s next President was a youth whose name starts with letter ‘S’.

He stated that he would not say what God didn’t tell him, urging Buhari to step down for the youth with a call on ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo to support the incoming ‘youth’ President.

Also, a pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church, Akure, Ondo State, Simeon Akorede, reportedly predicted Buhari’s defeat in the presidential election.

Though Akorede said God didn’t tell him who would become the country’s next president when he spoke with journalists in Akure, he noted that God showed him that Buhari had lost the opportunity and the grace to rule Nigeria again.

He said, “God revealed to me that the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari is not given the grace to govern Nigeria for a second term.”

But the results of the presidential election released by INEC made mincemeat of Akorede’s prediction. The commission said Buhari won his re-election bid polling 15,191,847 votes to defeat Atiku who got 11,262,978.

The prophetic utterance of Prophet John Ogundele of the Recreation Word Apostolic Church, Lagos, about the presidential election was entirely different from others. He ruled that neither Buhari nor Atiku would emerge winner of the election.

In a video showing him in a service/prayer session, Ogundele stated before the congregation, “You may be calculating in your mind that if Buhari doesn’t become the President, then it will be Atiku because Obasanjo supports him.

“Let me tell you as a prophet of God that among Obasanjo, Atiku and Buhari and those who you think are influential (in the country), God said He had withdrawn power from them. None of them will get on to the seat of power. Atiku will spend a lot of money but the money will cause conflicts in the country. If Atiku doesn’t come, there will be no new government.”

In the number 30 of his 50 prophecies for 2019 released last December, the General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, said, “I saw most eastern states won by the APC at the national level.” By whatever interpretation given to the prophecy, it didn’t come to pass as far as the last presidential election was concerned.

Either in the number of states in the eastern region or lawmakers produced for the National Assembly, the PDP won most votes and the states in the South-East, and not the APC. From Abia, Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi to Anambra, Atiku dwarfed Buhari with his acceptance and adoption in the region.

Like many of his past prophecies that didn’t come to pass, the Presiding Bishop, Divine Seed of God Chapel Ministries, Ibadan, Oyo State, Wale Olagunju, had predicted several months before the presidential election that Buhari would be roundly defeated by Atiku.

Being based in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, his prophecy might have come true, at least in the state, where Atiku marginally defeated Buhari in the presidential poll.

Quoting him in one of his interviews with a national newspaper, Olagunju said, “Let me congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari for winning the ticket of his party, the All Progressives Congress, and let me also make it clear to him that he will lose to Atiku Abubakar. Let me also congratulate Atiku in advance because he will win the next presidential election come 2019.

“Let me say, as a matter of fact, that Buhari does not need an alfa or prophet to deceive him that he would win the election, for as God lives, he would lose.”

The elections have come and gone but the outcome thoroughly faulted Olagunju’s prediction.

For Prophet David Babalola of His Presence Redemption Ministry International, Lagos, Atiku would trounce Buhari in the election.

He stated that he was on a mountain and saw Buhari on the right and Atiku on the left.

He said he asked God what the vision meant and God told him, “I can go back for the good to come. For you to have the best, that means there is bad before the good. It is power turnaround.’’

Babalola said, “I look at the announcement they announced (sic). They said Atiku have (has) won the presidency. Let everyone pray effectively that they will hand over.’’

The cleric added that Atiku had been ordained Nigeria’s President since 2012, saying, “Atiku won the election.’’

But despite the cacophony of failed prophecies on the presidential election, Prophet Emmanuel Stephen of the Mountain of Grace and Glory Ministry Worldwide, Lagos, reeled out a prediction which left the congregation and those who watched the video online in a pensive mood.

Before the poll shift, the prophet said he saw that Atiku wanted to sit on a seat decorated in the nation’s colours; but someone took the seat away from him and he sat on the floor before the seat reappeared and the incumbent President Buhari sat majestically on it.

After the poll delay, in another online video, the prophet stated, “Between Atiku and Buhari, I said something in my earlier prophecy. As Atiku walked to sit on a throne decorated with the country’s colours, someone came and removed the throne and he sat on the floor. Last December, I said when the throne reappeared; the current President Buhari already sat on it.

“I want to make a major comment about it because many of those who made comments about the video of the prophecy online don’t know who God is. There is a time God will look and changed His mind. There are several places in the Bible where God changed his mind.

“As of December last year, I saw Buhari on the throne as President. The surprising thing is that even as the presidential election is six days away, the prophecy has not changed. The man I saw walk to the throne is not the man that sat on it. What makes a prophet a genuine one is the confident of maintaining what you have said.” After that utterance, the video ended.

Commenting on the issue, a senior pastor at the Glory Centre Community Church, Lagos, Pastor Kunle Zakariya, said there were many reasons why it appeared that some prophecies don’t come to pass.

He said, “Many prophecies have been fulfilled in the past and we cannot deny the fact that prophecies come to pass. For instance, Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly gave a prophecy about the 1992 elections that came to pass. Pastor Enoch Adeboye has also given many prophecies that came to pass.”

Zakariya told SUNDAY PUNCH that prophecies didn’t come to pass owing to many reasons, ranging from fake pastors to misinterpreting prophecies by even some genuine men of God.

He said, “However, some prophecies do not come to pass because God didn’t talk to the person; they were probably based on the person’s bias. Such bias could be political, ethnic or logic-based. “Many times, when one has a bias, one will think one is hearing God but one is only hearing one’s bias. At times, people don’t hear God; they just make predictions by studying the situation and wanting to predict. People who do that are not genuine men of God.

“Another reason it looks like prophecies don’t come to pass is because most of times, people don’t understand that prophecy is a major school. The Bible says that we prophesy in part because we see in part.”

The cleric added that there were different stages of a prophetic word.

Zakariya said, “You receive the prophecy, interpret it and deliver it. Most pastors miss it in the aspect of interpreting the prophecy. For example, during Buhari and the late President Umaru Yar’Adua’s tribunal tussle, a man of God saw a vision where Yar’Adua was wheeled out of Aso Rock. He interpreted that because it was the time of the tribunal Buhari would win at the tribunal and Yar’Adua was on his way out of Aso Rock. He saw the right prophecy but he interpreted wrongly. It was later he understood that Yar’Adua was going to leave through sickness and it was the typology of the wheel chair he saw.”

He noted that a man of God could get a prophecy and miss the interpretation because the language pattern of God was different from men’s.

“I think the lessons for all of us to know that God is God and man is man. We also need to know that some genuine one can appear to miss it, where they miss it is the interpretation,” Zakariya stated while buttressing his point further.

“Some prophecies also have conditions; you might see the prophecies and miss the condition. For instance, somebody might see that Buhari is going if certain things happen. You might see that Buhari is going but the other person see that part you didn’t see and you didn’t see that other part.”

The pastor added that to forestall such in the church, pastors should unite and get a broader view and an accurate interpretation of prophecies before reeling them out to the public.

He said, “This is where I think the church has to be united. Prophetic word from the elders of the body of Christ should be judged by themselves. There should be a council. I think where they can share note, and then share strong and true prophetic words for the nations. But there is no doubt that prophesying is accurate. We have seen it in the Bible and even in contemporary times. Prophecies are true, people sometimes miss the interpretation and there are also fake pastors.”

He further said he could not tell whether a pastor should share a prophecy or not because the Lord who showed them would teach them how to administer it.

On his part, an Islamic cleric, Alfa Jamal Ahmed, said many people enjoyed saying things to please themselves, adding that all utterances and one’s ways should be committed to God.

He said, “If you notice, you hardly see Islamic clerics go about saying all sorts although few of them do so. Most times, those people who give all those prophecies speak based on what they want and for the candidates of their choice. They are not speaking God’s mind.”

“The day God drank tea with me” – Pastor E.A Adeboye marks 77th birthday (photos)

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye clocked 77 years on the 2nd of March, 2019.

The well known man of God, who is fondly called Daddy G.O by his members, ministered at the monthly Special Holy Ghost Service on Friday, March 1, at the Redemption Camp, where he prayed over the congregation.

While assuring the congregation of a speedy response to the requests made known to God that night, the Man of God narrated an encounter to boost the faith of his congregation.

He began saying,

“I want to beg you from the bottom of my heart cos this night is like no other night, I can’t tell you all the details but there are things that God will tell me that I dare not share. I have shared some things before in the past that created a problem for me…you want me to tell you one of them…if it is going to help your faith, I will tell you.

I was in Ilorin years ago, we were having breakfast, and we have a pot then for always making tea. And if I remember correctly, there are five cups then in that pot, my wife and I usually use take it turn by turn till the final cup….so that day, i took one, she took one, i took one, she took one and then i put my hand in the pot to take my third one which is the last cup in the pot..but it was empty, I looked at her, I couldn’t remember seeing her take the cup, so i wondered what happened to my tea and lo behold, i heard the voice of the lord loud and clear, saying ‘son, when you prayed, you invited me to join you….ah…..and i did’…some of you don’t know why i call him daddy, it is cos we have a relationship that is difficult to describe…this is a special anniversary, my daddy is here to celebrate with us, prayers prayed tonight will be answered by fire.” he disclosed.

Earlier, the church had organized a 77-hour praise jamboree which the GO attended with his wife and children.

Taking to Instagram, Pastor Adeboye, prayed, “As the Lord has added a year to my age today, in the name of the one who called me, to everyone who call me Daddy, “You shall fulfill your days”. #EAA77

“Yes! You are a husband snatcher!” – Bobrisky blows hot

Nigerian male barbie and cross dresser, Bobrisky has in a new ranting spree had a go at a Nollywood actress who we suppose is the alleged mistress who was accused of snatching his best friend, Tonto Dikeh’s ex-husband.

Bobrisky blows hot

He took to his Snapchat to call out this said actress, dubbing her a husband snatcher who should stop using her friend to stay relevant because her career is dead.

This is coming after we-suppose-you-know-who went hard at a follower recently, said she’s at liberty ‘to break people’s homes’ – in response to this follower, the actress wrote,

You’re sick. If a home was broken it probably wasn’t kept well and that’s none of my business. So get your silly jobless frustrated hypocritical self away from my page and go tell whoeve sent you that you didn’t see. Get a better life so you don’t have to be going on commenting errands from page to page. You’re just dumb as f**k. BALU

It probably is this response cross-dresser, Bobrisky saw that had him go on a ranting spree on this actress where he said her career is dead and she’s only using his best friend, Tonto Dikeh to try and stay relevant.
