A sustainable development advocate, his wife, and their three children, who were killed in a house fire, have all been buried on the same day.

Isaiah Terungwa Jonathan and his family died in the early hours of Saturday, March 2, 2019, when a fire broke out in their home.

Isaiah was quite popular in the northern part of Nigeria due to his advocacy works and, as a result, his funeral attracted a large turnout, with friends and colleagues present.

Aliyu Mohammed Sani, the person who was reported to have died after swimming in and drinking water from a drainage (gutter) in Bauchi, is hale and hearty.

Sani who spoke with our reporter on the telephone on Wednesday said that report about his death was a fabrication and fake news relayed on the Social Media.

Sani, a painter dismissed the rumour that he was taken to hospital over any form of complication.

According to report, Sani had vowed to spend some minutes inside a gutter and drink the drainage water if President Buhari wins re-election.

He fulfilled his promise after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Buhari of the All Progressives Congress,APC as winner of the Feb 23 presidential election. The picture of Sani who did the ‘4+4’ sign after emerging from the gutter went viral.

However, on Tuesday, March 5, he was reported to have died after battling with gastrointestinal bleeding in the hospital for days after his public stunt.

“As I am talking to you now, I am on my way back to Bauchi after we finished a painting work somewhere outside Bauchi,” he said.

According to him, his decision to drink water from the gutter if President Muhammadu Buhari wins re-election was a promise, he took in the presence of people which he fulfilled.

“It is true, I made the promise before the elections and I fulfilled it and I have no regrets,” he added.

A dog has been killed after attacking and biting a pupil to death earlier today in Port-Harcourt, River state.

The unfortunate incident happened along Tessy road in Rumuagholu, off Rumuokoro area in the state capital as the young boy was bitten to death by the rampaging Rottweiler dog.

It was gathered that the security guard at the house where the dog lived, opened the gate for the dog and it ran straight to a primary school (without fence), and attacked a pupil of the school. The dog was said to have also pounced on another child and bit her in the buttocks before an angry policeman shot the dog to death as claimed by Chuks Bune who recorded the incident.

The second victim is receiving treatment at Spring Rose Hospital along Rumuagholu road.

Report has it that the guard of the house where the dog escaped from has been arrested by the police.

A woman has lamented over her big breasts as she says she feels trapped. This is because her boobs are so big that wherever she goes, people turn around to stare.

“My boobs affect the way I live and think. I even tried to kill myself. I can’t take this anymore,” says the 48-year-old mother of four identified as Nomusa Dladla (48) from Inchanga, west of Durban, South Africa.

She said her boobs started growing in 2006, but she doesn’t know why and her shoulders and back were always aching. She said she doesn’t go outside because people call her mabele.

“In 2013 I stopped working because people would stare and laugh,” she said.

She said her husband left her because he felt ashamed of her.

“My kids still live with me but are also ashamed of me and they don’t bring their friends to the house,” she said.

“I used to wear size 30B. Now I make my own bra by adding material to my old ones.”

She said she’s been going to the hospital for almost seven years, but all they tell her is that she needs to lose weight before they can operate.

“I want to go back to work and provide for my suffering kids.”

KZN Health spokeswoman Ncumisa Mafunda said: “The National Health Act protects patient confidentiality. Patients can speak to public relations officers at hospital level regarding their concerns.”

President Buhari today reassured Nigerians that he would not let them down in his second term in office. He said this when he received the leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), who paid him a congratulatory visit at the state house in Abuja.

According to him, he would work harder in the next four years to address the challenges facing the country.

“This is my last lap, I will try to work harder. I assure you, I will not let you down.” he stated

Chairman of the ACF’s board of trustees, Alhaji Adamu Fika who led the delegation, said the visit was to congratulate the president on his victory at the polls.

A transgender man who gave birth to a boy has revealed vile abuse he received during pregnancy, with strangers mocking him as an “it”. Wyley Simpson, 28, said: “I had to deal with a lot of stigma behind me being a pregnant man.”

After finding out he was pregnant on February 8 2018, Simpson was left shocked and nervous at the news.

Not only had he started his transition to become a man years ago, but he did not feel ready to have a baby with his fiancé, Stephan Gaeth, 28.

But, undeterred, Simpson decided to go through his unplanned pregnancy – despite the emotional turmoil of battling abuse and judgment from strangers on a daily basis.

And on September 5, Simpson gave birth to their 7lb 5oz son, Rowan, via emergency C-section, as his son’s umbilical cord was wrapped several times.

With the San Antonio, Texas, couple celebrating their son turning six-months-old, they have spoken out about the pregnancy, and parenthood.

Simpson, who went through the transitioning process from the age of 21, said: “It’s not every day that someone sees a pregnant man walking down the road.

“So we received a fair amount of abuse – I would be told that I’ll never be a man, ‘men don’t carry babies’ and everyone called me ‘it’.

“I was already worried as this was my first pregnancy, but I was also nervous because I had to deal with a lot of stigma behind me being a pregnant man.

“But alongside receiving rude comments from other people, the pregnancy took a lot for me emotionally.”

He added that, “having a physical baby bump was something so feminine that messed with my head.

“But it was all worth it to have Rowan and to become a father – I wouldn’t have changed a thing.”

Despite being grateful that he could carry his own child, Simpson said that he was only able to feel comfortable about becoming a father once Rowan was born, particularly after having to battle constant criticism from strangers in the street.
