A gunshot survivor has shared a photo of the scar she sustained on her belly after she was shot.
Takieyah Reaves was shot in the stomach and the bullet shattered it but, miraculously, missed every major organ – the result of the shot however, damaged her stomach wall beyond repair so a skin graft was done with flesh taken from her thigh.
The procedure left her looking pregnant and she says people sometimes ask embarrassing questions, like when her baby is due and why her stomach makes growling sounds.
But she’s more grateful for life and determined to make the best of it.

Fast rising jockey, Opeyemi Adeaga better known as DJ Efe has lost his life – the promising young DJ reportedly died after a brief illness.
Confirming his death, the DJ association, Oyo State chapter wrote,

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Tuesday arraigned one Oladimeji Omotola Abiola, pictured, before Hon. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court 2, sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on a five-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretense and possession of false documents.
One of the charges preferred against him reads,
That you Oladimeji Omotola Abiola ‘M’ sometimes in the month of January, 2019, at Ibadan, Oyo State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, did obtained by false pretense the sum of Two Hundred and Thirty United States of American Dollars ($230.00) from one Jeremiah Barber who resides in the United States of America, under the pretense that you are a woman named Jessie West, ready to marry him, which pretense you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (1) & (2) and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.
A statement released by the antigraft agency says the defendant pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Prosecuting counsel, Adeola Elumaro, therefore, applied for a trial date and for the remand of the defendant in prison custody.
However, counsel to the defendant, A. D. Akinferan, told the court that he had a pending bail application on the matter, which he was yet to serve the prosecution; and thus prayed the court for a short adjournment to enable him do the needful.
Justice Abdulmalik adjourned the case to March 4, 2019 for trial and hearing of the bail application. The defendant was remanded in Agodi Prison Ibadan.

Trevor Noah has reacted to the new development in the attack case of Empire actor Jussie Smollett. The case took a new twist after evidence popped out that the actor may have staged the attack.

Iconic Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld has died at the age of 85 in France. Lagerfeld, who was the creative director of Chanel, is believed to have been unwell for two weeks before his death in a Paris hospital.
He looked increasingly frail in recent times and missed two of Chanel’s haute couture Paris shows on January 22. His studio director Virginie Viard appeared in his place and the company attributed his absence to him feeling tired.

Reports of the failing health of veteran Nollywood actor, Baba Suwe made the rounds on social media yesterday and one other veteran in the industry, Mr Latin has responded swiftly to the situation.
Baba Suwe is reportedly down with chronic diabetes – Mr Latin, the National President of the Theatre Arts and Motions Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN, in his reaction, denied rumors that the actor has been abandoned.

The Italian football authorities have expelled Pro Piacenza from the country’s third division league after the cash-strapped club fielded a side containing seven players for a fixture against Cuneo at the weekend, a game which the home side won 20-0.
It has now emerged that of those seven players, six were youth teamers and one the club masseuse, as the club’s senior players and staff refused to travel in an ongoing dispute over unpaid wages; the club has not paid its players and staff since last August.
Pro Piacenza had failed to honour their previous three fixtures due to a lack of players and took to the pitch on Sunday in depleted form in an effort to avoid being kicked out of the league. However, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) released a statement on Monday to the effect that Pro Piacenza had been excluded and fined 20,000 euros.
In a statement, the FIGC said that Pro Piacenza has been disqualified from professional competition for failing to comply with league regulations following a complaint filed by the Italian Footballers’ Association union chief, Damiano Tomassi, who described Pro Piacenza’s line-up as “playing with the dignity” of the rest of the sides in Serie C.

A woman, Ngozi Akakem, who beat and stripped her friend for sleeping with her husband, has been imprisoned after being arraigned in a court in Owerri, Imo state.
Ngozi had physically assaulted Nkiru last month and recorded the incident on camera – the video was later posted on the internet after which it went viral.
According to reports, Ngozi went to Nkiru’s house with thugs and humiliated her at gunpoint – she was also said to have tried to blackmail her to pay to prevent the video from being released.
Ngozi was arraigned on a 10 count charge, yesterday, but she pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate granted her bail to the tune of N1 million and the matter was adjourned to 28th of March, 2019. She was remanded in prison till she will perfect her bail conditions.

Gunmen have reportedly killed the manager of a hotel belonging to ex-Nigerian international footballer, Osaze Odewingie, in Benin, Edo State.
The deceased identified as Osato Okunkpolo, was reportedly shot dead by members of Eiye and Aye who were engaged in a shootout in the area on Sunday night, February 17, at the hotel located at Erediauwa Street, off Upper Sokponba Road, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo.
The corpse has been deposited at the Bénin Central Hospital, Mortuary. He was married to a journalist, Anita Okunkpolo who works at a a local tabloid company in Benin City.
Mourning the deceased, MC Osato, believed to be his brother, wrote on Facebook:

People who work with me know I give a lot of room & support to our female staff. I menstruate so I understand the days they are moody & cranky. I know people have to come to work on days their boyfriends are breaking their hearts. Women go through multiple challenges in the line of duty while chinning up Professional Careers.
I read the ignominious public commentary Gbenro published on social media about his Wife, Osas yesterday & I cringe for Women who “marry down”.
To Bosses at Work & Husbands at home, if you’ve ever been responsible in your Life, you’ll know how to care & nurture. No one will need to teach you to be kind & liberal.
Even if Osas was ever wrong, that puerile outburst from an absentee husband/father is telling of his poor character.
I don’t hold brief for Osas & I hope she adjusts where/if she should but a Man whose diatribe on social media was intended to destroy you is unfit for your Leadership & undeserving of your Love.
One more reason I remain thankful for my healthy self esteem & radical mind which made me not marry till I turned 31 despite societal pressure but which also made me wait & live my life on my own terms until I met a grounded & solid Man who loves & respects me.
Men don’t come factory fitted or with NAFDAC No. so there are no perfect men anywhere but Never Marry Down Ladies. Keep Growing – Everything Good will come.
