The Executive Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has condoled with the family of a former governor of the state, Lucky Igbinedion on his son Osaretin Igbinedion’s death.
It was earlier reported that Osaretin died in a fatal accident in Texas, United States, with his cousin, Eseosa Oyemwense.
Governor Obaseki condoled with the former Governor’s family in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, on Sunday, Daily Post reports.
He said,
“I commiserate with Chief Lucky Igbinedion and his wife, Mrs. Eki Igbinedion and the entire Igbinedion family over the passing of Osaretin and Eseosa Oyemwense.
“There are no adequate words to describe the deep sense of loss associated with the untimely passing of one’s child, irrespective of his age.
“I join friends and well-wishers of the Igbinedion family in prayers for the repose of the souls of the departed and urge the family to take solace in the assurance that we will meet again on the day of resurrection.”

A 19-year-old girl identified as Mary Adeniyi, has been arrested for reportedly stabbing her husband to death in Lagos.
The nursing mother committed the offence on Friday afternoon, during a scuffle with her husband, Solomon Nduka, 30, over her alleged infidelity at their Shagamu Road, Ikorodu residence.
The deceased, it was gathered, usually accused the suspect of cheating on him which led to a fight. Adeniyi, said to have a 4-month-old baby, allegedly stabbed Solomon in the neck.
In a new video making the rounds on social media, a quite aged man who inscribed “Vote Dino” on his head is seen crying as he anticipates meeting with the Nigerian politician.
According to reports, the man was crying after the election was postponed and judging from his haircut, he must have been rooting for the politician moments before they announced the postponement.
In the video, the man finally got to meet Dino Melaye and appreciating his support, Dino blessed him with a sum of N2,000 before patting him and moving on.
Controversial Ghanaian media personality, Afia Schwarzenegger has advised Nigerian youths in a recent video on her page, not to vote incumbent President Buhari as she says he is not competent and also he is too old to get another chance.
Afia who reminded the youths of the time PMB called them ‘lazy’, added that if Buhari is voted into power and dies, his blood will be on the head of Nigerians.
Afia Schwarznegger who told Nigerians to vote out Buhari, also recounted how Aisha the Nigerian First lady publicly said her husband is not in control of his government.

A video currently making rounds on social media shows the moment a man was caught stealing the tithe money inside a church in Asaba. The incident occurred at the Dominion City church in Asaba.
The man was reportedly caught in the act of stealing the money when he was caught. He got dragged out by church members who made sure they filmed him get disgraced.
When he he was questioned, he admitted to stealing the money but explained that he was tempted and should be pardoned.

A woman identified simply as Ade is reported to have been caught at Kuroda Hospital ‘yan kura in Kano at 2:30 am on Friday, February 15th, where she stole a newborn baby.

This comes after it was reported of one 23-year-old Blessing Aluna, who was arrested by men of the Niger state police command for selling her one-week old baby for N200,000.
According to reports, Blessing who resides in Rimi Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, was apprehended for allegedly conniving with Oludare Jeprince, who was said to be her boyfriend and accomplice, to kidnap and facilitate the sale of the baby.
When interrogated, Blessing blamed poverty for her action.
“Imagine me selling my child for money; that will tell you the level of hardship in the country. I sold my own child for N200,000 in order to open a provision store in Suleja at least to take care of myself and my siblings.”
Blessing said she regrets her action.
“I have done the worst thing to humanity and especially to my own child. I don’t think I deserve to be alive, let the law take its course.” she said

Nigerian singer, Davido has reacted after he was called out for seemingly body-shaming a female critic who called him out over his political affiliations.

Bbnaija’s Bisola Aiyeola has come to the defense of her colleague and friend, Osas, saying she is a good mother but her job sometimes requires late nights.
Recall, the Tinsel star, Gbenro Ajibade, took to his Instastories early on Sunday morning to accuse his estranged wife, Osas of bad parenting.
According to him, Osas leaves their two-year old baby, Azariah at home while she parties all night and even once was sent the baby home to the nanny through a stranger.
He wrote, “Who leaves their baby in the house and goes out to party and hang with friends/event from 6pm till 5am?!!! Its not the first, second, third or fourth time, the other night you slept out you sent our baby with a stranger to drop her off back home with the nanny so you can be out all night?!”
The reality star and actress further slammed Gbenro for bringing his marital issues to social media.
She wrote:
‘Osas is a good mother. Her job sometimes requires late nights. And now that he has posted this I hope Instagram and Snapchat Admin will give him parent of the year Medal ?????.’

Kogi Senator, Dino Melaye has claimed he just survived another assassination attempt on his life and he is grateful to be alive.
In a statement he posted on social media, the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district stated that he was being attacked by hired thugs who were dressed in camouflage.
According to him, the thugs shot at his convoy while traveling within Lokoja and he is lucky to be alive

Pope Francis has defrocked former U.S. Cardinal, Theodore McCarrick, after he was found guilty of soliciting for sex while hearing confession and of sexual crimes against minors and adults.
McCarrick, 88, is the highest-ranking Catholic churchman to be laicized, as the process is called. It means he can no longer celebrate Mass or other sacraments, wear clerical vestments or be addressed by any religious title.
Defrocking, unfrocking, or laicization of clergy is the removal of their rights to exercise the functions of the ordained ministry.
He is the first churchman who reached the rank of cardinal to be defrocked in the church’s sex abuse scandals

A man has been arrested after admitting to raping a dog and leaving it with internal injuries so severe it had to be euthanized. Fidel Lopez, 51, grew frustrated that his fiancée would not respond to his calls and texts and allegedly raped the dog as he lay in bed.
Lopez, from Portland, Oregon, told police that he’d been drinking alcohol at the time of the alleged incident and committed the assault “out of anger.”Estrella, a Lhasa Apso breed, initially “seemed fine” following the attack, court documents said.
The girlfriend later heard Estrella whining while hiding under the couch and discovered blood and injuries to the animal, Oregon Live reported.
She brought the dog to nearby animal DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital where vets took the decision to put the animal down.According to reports, the partner of Lopez told nurses that her partner displayed some “potential bestiality tendencies.”
He once bragged about watching another person sexually assault a dog and would occasionally show his genitals to them, she claimed. He also suggested getting a dog larger than Estrella, she said.
A necropsy was performed on Estrella after she was euthanised and traces of Lopez’s DNA were found in the dog.
Lopez is currently being detained at Multnomah County Detention Center on suspicion of first-degree aggravated animal abuse and sexual assault of an animal.
