Election shift: Some Nigerians are seeking the next available flight, ride, or boat to Canada.

Nigerians who were enthusiastic about the Presidential Election which was to hold today, woke to a disappointing news as the electoral body, INEC, made an eleventh hour decision to postpone the election via a 2A.M announcement when Nigerians were still sound asleep.

After the news of the 2019 general elections shift filtered in this morning, some Nigerians have expressed willingness to port to Canada.

We have gathered some hilarious tweets from twitter where Nigerians expressed their profound intentions of relocating to ‘the abroad’ – precisely canada as some even added the canadian flag to their display names.

The video has sparked mixed reactions among internet users.

Facebook user Micheal Ogba wrote;

How a Nigerian Lady came up with a brilliant plan to deceive her parents so she could spend Vals day with her boyfriend

A ‘Nigerian Lady’ who wanted to spend time with her ‘boyfriend’ on Valentine’s Day came up with a brilliant plan to deceive her parents so she could make her plan possible.

Facebook user Ijeoma Chinonyerem shared the story on Facebook writing:

What we do for za D!

So couple of years back, we were on strike during Valentine. Not general ASU strike o. Yeye EBSU strike. Those people can like to strike for nonsense.

An acquaintance had a boo staying in Lagos that she wanted to spend the Val’s day with. Actually she had other boos but that one dey bring out cash like say tomorrow no dey. But how could she travel for the Valentine’s day when her very strict popsy dey house?

She couldn’t lie and say the strike was over cos her brother also attends the same school. What would she tell him? Which excuse you wan use travel for Valentine when you dey strike?

So babe came up with a plan.

An ingenious plan.

From the money bobo send am, she went to a printing press and printed a wedding invitation card. Just a sample. She came back and showed it to her parents. She told them Ngozi, her best friend in the secondary school was getting married on the 15th of February in Lagos and she was one of the bridesmaids.

3 days later she went to the market and bought some materials and came back and told the house the phantom best friend sent her the material for asoebi through Onitsha Mass.

Her folks believed her. Even gave her money for transport. She sewed it, got ready and on 13th, she left to Lagos for the wedding.

After spending the Valentine’s day with the man, on the 15th they went to the market. They bought chinaware, food flask and some plastics. They also bought stickers, printed Ngo weds Ben on it and slapped it on the gifts as souvenir.

They then crashed a wedding where she took pictures with a group of people standing next to the bride and groom and other random pictures. She made sure to wear that particular asoebi gown she sowed.

She came back on the 16th with the pictures and souvenir as evidence of the wedding she attended and nobody suspected pim.

After the strike when she was gisting us the story, we touched the hem of her leggings so the anointing go enter our body. Bow down when you see innovation.

She’s been married for over 5 years now and not to the Lagos guy.

Moral of the story: Where there is a D, there is a way.

Bride-to-be laments after Election was postponed to her wedding date

As the impact of the postponement of the 2019 elections continue to revebrate across Nigeria, Miss Rita Osawende, a bride-to be has lamented its impact on her marriage plans.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Benin, she said her marriage was shifted from Feb. 16 to Feb. 23 because of the elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the dates for 2019 elections from Feb. 16 to Feb. 23 and from March 2 to March 9 for the Presidential/National Assembly and the Governorship/House Assembly/FCT Area Councils elections.

Osawende said that all arrangements for her big day had been concluded for next week.

“INEC please help me revisit this issue.

“The original date was fixed for February 16, but as soon as I knew it’s elections day, it was postponed to February 23rd.

“What do I do; all arrangements have been made.

“I have printed and distributed my invitation cards for the wedding. I am so confused,” she said.

Shorltly after she received the car as a birthday gift, many trolls on the internet began to insinuate that she probably bought the car herself and then asked her fans to present it to her just for clout.

This is coming after she threw in her support for PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar where she wrote;

I’m Regina Daniels. Proud to be 100% Atikulated with Atiku Abubakar who is in the race to become Nigeria’s next President. I accept my appointment as Youth Campaign Coordinator For Nollywood with humility and youthful zeal. Atiku is a youth-friendly leader who has assured that every 4 out of 10 of his cabinet will be a youth. It can’t sure get any better.

The incumbent called President “Bubu” is a myriad of lies, inuendos, deceit, incompetence, tyranny, inability, inadequacies, glaring misfit and the downright collapse of the basic structure of the Nigerian society.

The drift is brazen. The nation is at crossroads. The land bleeds from hunger and inertia. It’s time to steer the ship away from caput. From Bama to Bori, Aba to Abuja, kaura Namode to Kaduna, the sky is gloomy.
Time for Nigerian Youths to join me and vote Atiku/Obi 2019 to protect our future.

I am deeply disappointed — President Buhari reacts to Election Postponement

President Buhari has reacted to the Election Postponement. Read below his statement:

I am deeply disappointed that despite the long notice given and our preparations both locally and internationally, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the Presidential and National Assembly elections within hours of its commencement.

Many Nigerians have traveled to various locations to exercise their right to vote, and international observers are gathered.

INEC themselves have given assurances, day after day and almost hour after hour that they are in complete readiness for the elections. We and all our citizens believed them.

This administration has ensured that we do not interfere in any way with the work of INEC except to ensure that all funds were released to the commission.

We now urge INEC to ensure not only that materials already distributed are safe and do not get into wrong hands, but that everything is done to avoid the lapses that resulted in this unfortunate postponement, and ensure a free and fair election on the rescheduled dates.

While I reaffirm my strong commitment to the independence, neutrality of the electoral umpire and the sanctity of the electoral process and ballot, I urge all political stakeholders and Nigerians to continue to rally round INEC at this trying national moment in our democratic journey.

I, therefore, appeal to all Nigerians to refrain from all civil disorder and remain peaceful, patriotic and united to ensure that no force or conspiracy derail our democratic development.

I have decided to move back to Abuja to ensure that the 14.00 hrs meeting called by INEC with all stakeholders is successful.

Davido reacts to Election postponement

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the 2019 General Election to the 23rd of February and this has caused so many uproar on Social Media.

Singer, Davido has also reacted to the new date; Davido mocked the president writing; “There’s nothing wrong in wanting to be President for one more week .. the seat sweet ? #DefendYourVote”

Meanwhile, APC has also reacted to the postponement of the Election. A statement released reads;

We have just received with great disappointment and disillusionment the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of its decision to postpone the Presidential/National Assembly and Gubernatorial/House of Assembly Elections to Saturday, February 23, 2019 and Saturday, March 9, 2019, respectively.

We condemn and deprecate this tardiness of the electoral umpire in the strongest terms possible. President Muhammadu Buhari had since cooperated fully with INEC by ensuring EVERYTHING it demanded to conduct free and fair elections were promptly made available to it. This news is therefore a huge disappointment to us and to our teeming supporters nationwide and around the world, many of whom have come into the country to exercise their franchise.

We do hope that INEC will remain neutral and impartial in this process as the rumor mill is agog with the suggestion that this postponement has been orchestrated in collusion with the main opposition, the PDP, that was NEVER ready for this election. We note that all the major credible demographic projections have predicted a defeat of the PDP and it seriously needed this breather to orchestrate more devious strategies to try and halt President Buhari’s momentum. It did the same as the ruling Party in 2015, when it realized the game was up, by orchestrating the postponement of the 2015 elections by six weeks. Now, it may be up to its old trick again.

We have earlier raised the alarm that the PDP is bent on discrediting this process the moment it realized it cannot make up the numbers to win this election. We are only urging INEC not collude with the PDP on this. We are truly worried because as early as Friday morning, some known PDP Social Media influencers unwittingly announced this postponement, but quickly deleted the message and apologized to the public that it was fake news. We do not want to be forced to a situation of announcing our total loss of confidence in INEC, because we know where that would leave our democracy.

It is in the light of the above that we wish to appeal to Nigerians and our supporters to be patient, calm and resolute despite this temporary setback. Let us not give anyone, especially the PDP, the opportunity to plunge this nation into a crises, which is what they earnestly desire. Its imminent defeat is just a few days away.

Lastly, we wish to draw the attention of INEC and the world to observe that the PDP has clearly and openly said it plans to announce parallel results through some funny device it has procured or developed. We wish to re-iterate that it is ONLY INEC that is legally and constitutionally empowered to declare results and it constitutes an offence for anyone to do so. We urge INEC to SPEAK UP NOW and warn the PDP to desist from this ignoble act that is capable of plunging the nation into a crises of immeasurable proportions.

“Buhari must apologize to us for the postponement of this election” – Comedian, I Go Dye says

Nigerian comedian, I Go Dye has also condemned the sudden postponement of the Presidential election that was earlier scheduled to hold today, February 16th but will now hold on February 23rd.

I Go Dye, in a recent post shared on his Instagram page, says the INEC chairman must be suspended while President Buhari must tender an unreserved apology to Nigerians for the postponement of the election.

Posting a throwback video of President Buhari condemning postponements of the elections in 2015, I Go Dye wrote;

I CALL FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE INEC CHAIRMAN AND UNRESERVED APOLOGY FROM PRESIDENT MOHAMMADU BUHARI WHO ONCE CONDEMNED THE 2015 POSTPONED ELECTION.

I am astonished like many other Nigerians who woke up only to discover that INEC has postponed and fixed new dates 23rd for the elections. I feel this is totally unacceptable from an institution like INEC that had been given 185 billon naira to organise it’s logistics prior to this day.
Federal government has the financial capacity to bear the extra logistics burden that will be incurred from this postponement, but what happens to the rest of us?Who have planned marriage ceremonies,parties,funeral programs and other social activities who have fixed several events and occasions on the new dates,we are now forced to make new plans,resulting in the loss of time,financial burden and psychological problems.

Unfortunately for me,I have proposed 23rd February as the auditioning date for my project Sort talent hunt at Delta State. After spending so much on publicity,venue and other logistics,I am now forced to change the dates, even the final that was to hold on 27th February will also be affected. This is the highest level of mismanagement and gross interpretation of corruption against the original Nigerians.

This is the kind of frustration melted on Nigerian youths on a daily basis,when they are frustrated out of businesses because of electricity,high expenses of goods and services due to foreign exchange rate,unemployment that has led many to crimes and taking risks’ through the deserts to seek greener pastures in strange lands;the negative options is created by the insensitive of Nigerian government,it shows they don’t really care about their citizens.

To even make this situation worst, the postponement was carried out at Night.So when did they realise that the logistics involved was not adequately prepared for? This was how the Goodluck Jonathan past administration postponed the 2015 presidential elections and we condemned it,we felt that with the change mantra that will be end of such maladministration. This id a national embarrassment and deliberate attempt to ridicule us a Nation. Amb Francis Agoda

Election postponement: “This is physical and mental abuse in every way” – Debola Williams reacts to poor treatment of corps members across the country

Media entrepreneur and political strategist, Adebola Williams has joined the league of other celebs to react to the postponement of the election and poor treatment of youth corps members who are being used as ad-hoc staff by INEC.

Debola Williams reacts

Sharing the photos below, he wrote,

‘more than the potponement is this physical and mental abuse on Nigerians in every way, by every government, at every level’.

‘Sometimes it’s almost as if there’s a clear strategy from the Leaders to ensure the people hate Nigeria, causing so much hardship at every turn which forces people to disconnect and not care about anything including who leads them or collective good, rather focus on personal success which includes migration.

The sense of helplessness you feel at this 2am out in the cold on an assignment to serve your country is almost an automatic conclusion of hopelessness in the possibility of a working Nigeria. So if you ever wonder why Nigerians struggle to be excellent within Nigeria, are cynical and removed, can easily join in on Internet scam and all the ills, this is it INEC if you keep saying you were prepared, take a look at these photos and get the answer right there.

They deserve better. Nigerians deserve an announcement 24 hours at the least. A leader should have made the projection, then the call. Doing it at 3am doesn’t communicate preparedness, it’s bad leadership.

I received about 50 messages from ladies after my divorce prank – Seyi Law

Popular comedian, Seyi Law, recently uploaded a sarcastic statement that insinuated he and his wife had gone their separate ways. But a telephone interview with Saturday Beats, the celebrity said after the prank, ladies, about 50 of them, did not wait for the dust to settle before wooing him with text messages.

His message on Instagram had read, “Due to irreconcilable differences would have been enough to announce this, but the kind and beautiful heart of my ex-wife must be stated. She is one of the best women I have ever known. It is however sad, that I announce that my wife and I have decided to part ways for good. We will appreciate your love and support at this time. God bless you. Tiwaloluwa is safe and good.”

This post literally set the social media on fire with fans curious to know the reason behind the development. Seyi Law, however, told one of our correspondents that he was on the plane when the inspiration to play the prank came to him.

“I was going to the UK to visit my wife and promote my show as well. While I was on the plane, I just had that weird idea. I was curious about what people’s reaction would be if they heard that Seyi Law was no longer married. I knew that if I was going to test it, I had to be sarcastic and witty about it.

“Please dear friend “SHUT UP”- ID Cabasa slams long time friend, Lord of Ajasa in new post

ID Cabasa slams Lord of Ajasa

Veteran producer, ID Cabasa, has slammed the many celebrities who claim to have paved the way for the younger generation who are currently winning in the industry.

This is coming just after Lord of Ajasa complained bitterly that some successful artistes he had helped to achieve stardom abandoned him in his hour of need.

Refusing to mention the names of the artistes, Ajasa said, “I am surprised that they changed their attitudes toward me. I don’t want to mention names now. They know themselves. Some of them are well known to members of the public. Although I have done a lot for these people, when I needed help from them, they were nowhere to be found. Some of them even avoided contact with me. I am very disappointed in them. All I can say is that in this music business, some people are ingrates.”

But Cabasa made it known that such a statement is usually made by liars.

Writing on Instagram, Cabasa said;

“When people carry a sense of entitlement they lack gratitude… Because when u do the little u can for them they still feel they deserve more… Entitlement breeds pride that founded on ignorance (Over estimation of self)… Entitled folks brings no value to d table but wants to command respect/attention bcos of their false evaluation which exist only in their head.

If I do something small for u and u can’t see reasons to appreciate it… YOU ARE AN INGRATE… Entitlement is d reason we have many baba in the game that are complaining about d Young folks doing great stuff… They come with phrases like “we paved the way” please dear friend “SHUT UP” Which way did u pave and for who??? The very selfish ones says this a lot and I marvelled at d lies bcos we know u “ate alone”…. Hmm

I can’t shout!!!! Young folks please do u and be you let no elder stateman who is hurting hurt you… Balance is this RESPECT THEM BUT DON’T WORSHIP THEM.”

Buhari administration postponed elections to ensure turn out is low on the rescheduled date – Atiku

Atiku Abubakar has given his own reaction to the postponement on the elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The PDP Presidental candidate urged Nigerians to remain peaceful despite the provocation.

His words, “As you know, the Independent National Electoral Commission has announced a postponement of the elections until 23 February and 9 March respectively.

“The Buhari administration has had more than enough time and money to prepare for these elections and the Nigerian people were poised and ready to perform their civic responsibility by voting in the elections earlier scheduled for Saturday, 16 February, 2019.

“This postponement is obviously a case of the hand of Esau but the voice of Jacob. By instigating this postponement, the Buhari administration hopes to disenfranchise the Nigerian electorate in order to ensure that turn out is low on the rescheduled date. Nigerians must frustrate their plans by coming out in even greater numbers on Saturday, 23 February and Saturday, 9 March respectively.

PDP condemns election shift, blames ruling Party

Atiku names 30 corrupt people working with Buhari

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has condemned the postponement of the 2019 general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).

In a statement, Mr Secondus said the development is a deliberate plot by President Muhammadu Buhari to cling on to power even when it has become obvious to him that Nigerians want him out.

Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, announced at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday that the election had been postponed, barely hours after Nigerians were set to hit the polling units.

The INEC Chairman said the announcement came hours after a string of strategic meetings were held by top INEC officials to review preparedness for the exercise. It was concluded that a rash of logistics challenges that arose on Friday informed the postponement.

The elections would now hold on new dates scheduled as February 23 for presidential and National Assembly elections and March 9 for governorship and state assemblies elections.

Davido goes on shading spree after it was revealed Wizkid rejected millions from Politicians

It may seem as though Davido is set to ‘resurrect’ his previous beef with his rival, Wizkid.

It also seems as though the singer is set to make as much enemies as possible as regards the upcoming elections, which has now been confirmed to be postponed to the 23rd of February 2019.

Davido recently claimed that he was being threatened over his political ambition.

He is one of the many celebrities who has publicly shown interest in certain candidates politically.

Wizkid earlier in the week had advised Nigerians against voting for a candidate because a celebrity endorsed them.

“Politicians stop joking with people’s lives. You are responsible for the lives of millions of people and your decision affects all. Help make Nigeria a better place,” Wizkid wrote on Snapchat.

“Don’t let anybody wen don collect money influence your vote to tell u who’s right or not! Use your head! Vote wisely! I’m for whoever the people vote.

“Vote who you like…vote wisely. If you are old enough to get a PVC, you are old enough to think! Don’t sell your vote…your vote can make a difference! Go out and vote,” the singer added.

Immediately, Davido sent a subtle reply which reads; “Davido!! Person headache ??idiot. Imma haunt u for life ??

Wizkid’s comment was backed by claims by an Instagram channel, that the StarBoy Records boss rejected millions from politicians to perform at their campaigns so as not to influence voters. @urfreshtv wrote;

@wizkidayo rejected millions of Naira politicians offered him to perform at their campaigns, he said he doesn’t want to influence the people of Nigeria for his own selfish interest

It should be noted that Wizkid liked the said post, which apparently confirms the page’s claim.

Sequel to this, Davido has gone on a shading spree again;

“IF I could put all the love that I feel right this minute from the people that I have already said my goodbyes to I would live to be 150 years. Nigeria my husband is bringing my ashes home so welcome him. It has been my honor and I am truly humbled to have touched so many of yours lives. To be honest me calling you to say goodbye to you is quite selfish on my part this way I leave you better than I came full of your love. I love ?? you more than you will ever know. Talk Soon Buntricia”
