Ex-president Shehu Shagari has been buried, the first and only President of Nigeria’s Second Republic was committed to the earth at some minutes past 3pm in his town in Sokoto State on Saturday.

Afterwards, special prayers were offered for the soul of the late President.

Present at the event were Boss Mustapha, who represented current President, Muhammadu Buhari, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, as well as politicians, elder statesmen, friends and well wishers of the departed.

Shagari died at the National Hospital Abuja on Friday after a brief illness.

The late ex-President’s grandson, Nuradeen Mahe disclosed that the late President was moved to the National Hospital, Abuja on December 25, when “his health worsened, but he later died after being attended to by medical experts.”

The former president ruled Nigeria between 1979 to 1983.

Shagari, who won his second term election was, however, overthrown by a coup d’etat that brought in Muhammadu Buhari as Military Head of State.

Usher files for divorce from estranged wife, Grace Miguel

R&B singer, Usher Raymond has officially filed for a divorce from his estranged wife and former manager, Grace Miguel.

This comes after Usher and Miguel confirmed their split in March following multiple lawsuits in which he was accused of infecting people with herpes.

But the singer denied the allegations, insisting he had no intentions to cause harm. He also argued that the plaintiffs “assumed the risk” when they consented to have sex with him.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Usher who married Miguel in September 2015, about six years after they began dating, filed for a divorce from her on Friday in Atlanta.

TMZ reports that the legal documents list Dec. 24, 2017 as Usher and Grace’s date of separation. The documents state that the former couple has reached a confidential settlement agreement awaiting court approval.

According to The Blast, Usher is using the same attorney he retained in his a previous custody battle with ex-wife, Tameka Foster.

The family of late Nigeria’s Second Republic President, Shehu Shagari has disclosed date for his burial.

Shagari died at the National Hospital Abuja on Friday after a brief illness.

The late ex-President’s grandson, Nuradeen Mahe disclosed that Shagari will be buried on Saturday in Sokoto State.

Addressing journalists in Sokoto, Mahe said Shagari’s “remains would be flown to Sokoto for burial on Saturday according to Islamic rites.”

Media personality, Nathaniel Adejoh, has died. Nathan who is from Kogi state, died on Monday December 24th after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment.

Nathan who got married to his pretty wife, Rachel, in April 2018, was 33 years old.

His friends and family had a candle light for him on Friday, December 28th. His remains will be buried on Saturday December 29th.

Sharing the sad news of his death on Facebook, Agnes Jack wrote;

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the news of the passing away of the First Executive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari.

President Buhari’s condolence message is contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Friday.

The President said: “On behalf of my family, the government and the people of Nigeria, it is with immense sadness that I received the news of the passing away of the First Executive President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari which event happened on Friday in Abuja.”

He described the death as the departure of a patriot whose life of service and humility was widely acknowledged.

President Buhari recalled part of the birthday message he (Buhari) sent to him last February when he said, “ we are enthralled and regaled with the many years of unequalled patriotism, sacrifices and contributions to national development.

“More specifically, we celebrate the role modelling qualities of integrity, diligence and humility that have been the hallmark of your visionary leadership.”

The President was grateful to God that Shagari lived to a ripe age and led an exemplary life, which he urged Nigerians of all walks of life to emulate.

“Nigerians held him in the highest esteem even when he was out of office until his demise and will forever miss his wise counsels,’’ he added.

He prayed that Almighty God would comfort the family of the ex-president and all those who mourned him and will grant the soul of the former president eternal rest.

The remains of the former president, who died at the age of 93 on Friday at the National Hospital Abuja, would be transported to Sokoto for burial on Saturday according to Islamic rites.

Shagari was Nigerian president from 1979 to 1983 and won second election before being dethroned by a coup d’etat that brought in Muhammadu Buhari as military head of state.

The young man who calls himself ‘Owoboy’,(money boy), recently shared pictures of himself relaxing on his bed with two ladies while showing off his new iPhone and Apple MacBook.

He shared the trending pictures on Facebook just days after he was hospitalized for an undisclosed illness.

According to him, he took an antibiotic drug without eating which made him to faint due to weakness. He was rushed to the hospital where he was treated.

He also revealed that when he thought he was going to die at the hospital, he prayed and asked God for forgiveness..

After the recovery, he decided to welcome himself home with two ladies.

A baby who was abandoned on the road by his mother on Christmas day, was recused by an orphanage.

The Door of Hope Children’s Mission in Glenvista, Johannesburg, South Africa, received a different kind of gift on Christmas Day after the baby was wrapped in a plastic bag and placed in a dustbin outside the home.

Hannah Thompson, a baby care co-ordinator at the home, told Daily Sun,

“We consider the baby a gift because it’s alive. Whoever found the baby boy gave him an opportunity to live.”

According to Hannah, most of the abandoned babies they received were from police and hospitals, and some were brought by their mums.

She said they often gave poverty and financial instability as the reasons for bringing the babies.

“But we’d rather have mums handing over their unwanted babies than placing them in rubbish bins.“Child abandonment is a real issue that people must be educated on.”

Hannah said the home offers a baby box where mums could place unwanted babies.

“When they open the box, an alarm alerts us that there’s a baby. We can also see the baby because there’s a camera focused on the box. We’ve received more than 200 babies since 1999 at our Berea home in Joburg,” said Hannah.

She said the babies were often adopted or reunited with their families.

A Quantity Survey graduate of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi State, has died just a day to her wedding scheduled for 11:00am at Gwallaga mosque, today, in Bauchi.

According to reports, Fawziya Tataru, died of an undisclosed ailment, shortly after her wedding Walima to Abduljalil Salisu, yesterday afternoon.

Instead of her wedding Fatiha, her funeral prayer will now hold at the same time and mosque, today, ahead of her burial.

There was a mild drama after a wife caught her husband and his side chick off-guard in public and embarrassed them.

The scorned wife unleashed her wrath on the two after they failed to give answers to her questions. She first attacked the girlfriend identified Carol Matanga, before turning to her husband who was already trembling with fear.

The incident caused a huge scene at 9th Avenue and George Silundika Street in Zimbabwe where the incident occurred on Christmas Eve, giving Passers-by a free movie to watch as the two lovebirds were embarrassed in public.

Carol, tried to calm the situation by telling the woman that she didn’t that the man was married but got a bashing for ‘being stupid.”

Her husband’s efforts to restrain her were not fruitful and was also slapped before his wife pulled his man_hood.

“You have been lying claiming that you are now impotent, but you are busy with your girlfriend. You are even failing to support your five children because of this woman. Today I will teach you a lesson,” she said.

When the woman turned to her husband, Caro attempted to flee the scene. The embarrassed man tried to follow suit after he saw people busy taking pictures and videos of the drama, he got inside Chronicle building, but unfortunately, the security guard chased them out.

The lovebirds were then saved by a man driving a South African registered vehicle who offered them transport and they drove away.

Controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has shared how Davido’s mom, appeared to her in a dream, and she’s claimed that she told him she’s not proud of her son, David.

Robbers destroy man’s car, kill him for complaining

A man identified as Ayaga Temitayo, was, on Thursday, killed by some armed robbers at around 04:00am, opposite Tosin Aluko garage in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The deceased was in his car and the vehicle conveying the gunmen had hit his car at the back.

Ayaga then alighted from the car to complain over the reckless driving, not knowing they were armed robbers and the daredevil bandits opened fire on him killing him instantly.
