Nigerians Jailed In India Cry Out For Help, Beg FG To Come Their Aid

A cry for help has been made by some Nigerians in India who said they have been in jail for over two years for overstaying their visas.

In a video posted on Facebook on Friday, December 21, the men who claim to be professional footballers pleaded to the Nigerian government and well meaning Nigerians to come to their rescue.

Their spokesperson in the video said they are more than ten and have been asked to provide money for their tickets to be deported back to Nigeria. They, however, lamented that they had no money to pay for the tickets.

They claimed that the Nigerian Embassy in India is aware of their plights but had not done anything to rescue them from the prison.

“I used to seek validation from social media”- Waje

Nigerian Singer, Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje, a Nigerian singer and songwriter, says she once used to rely on social media for validation.

Telling a story of how she was trolled on social media in 2013 after a bad performance, the mother-of-one said she is no longer affected by bad performances.

She told Dang Network ;

“I never used to think that I was good-looking, having a great body or anything like that. I needed validation so when social media came, it was a no-brainer. Great pictures, comments; I felt like I had hit jackpot and then the bubble burst. Then I realised that some people follow you just to point out everything wrong with you. In 2013, I had four nominations at the World Music Awards and I had just released my album, I was on the top of my game.

“I was billed to perform on this faithful day and understanding that I had a great voice, I just wanted an opportunity to showcase my talent with live music and the organisers told me that there was no space for that. I was mad at my management for not sorting that out but we needed the money so I agreed. I got there and there was a band.

“I got depressed, the crowd in their thousands didn’t know that I was not in my element, I had to use a CD to perform and I didn’t like it. There was no heart, no love, just me feeling disappointed that I gave them less than they hungered for. I was trending but I was trending for all the wrong reasons.

“They hated my performance, I was fat-shamed, one person even said that I looked like a DSTV remote control. I cried and felt really bad.

“I isolated myself and there was nothing anyone could do to appease me. The only person that could get through to me was Omawumi and my friend Jennifer.”

The 38-year-old singer, who just released her fourth studio album, Red Velvet, said it took a fitness coach who helped her work on her body and mind to change her mentality.

“We didn’t just work out for fitness, we worked on my mind too. Between 2013 and now, people have been asking me what diet I used to lose weight but I know that I haven’t lost much weight but something changed,” she explained.

“I allowed social media take a hold of me, I trusted it to give me something it had no ability to offer but I realised that everything I need, I already possess, I just need to channel it in the right direction. Good or bad performance, I don’t let it bother me, it doesn’t fault my confidence.”

Asuu Strike : FG is unserious.

FG withdraws no work no pay threat

Chairman of the University of Calabar branch of Academic Staff Union of Universities, Dr. Tony Eyang, on Friday said the Federal Government is not serious about its negotiation with the union.

Eyang, who spoke against the backdrop of the recent deadlock with the government, said a simple way to show commitment, beyond the series of Memorandum of Agreements, was for the government to implement just one of its earlier promises.

He said ;

“The Memorandum of Action of 2017 must be implemented. It is more or less a pathway to the implementation of the 2009 agreement. The way to move forward was what necessitated the N20bn commitment from FG but nothing has been.

“We have made our demands, it is now left for government to react in concrete terms that they are serious. One of the demands is the mainstreaming of earned academic allowances into salaries beginning with the 2019 budget, but what do we know about the budget which was presented just three days ago.

“What we are told is that it has been factored it, but we do not know if it is so. We are not looking for 100 per cent implementation, all we want is some demonstration of seriousness. It is not ASUU that is being difficult here, but government is being unserious. For several months that this union has been on strike they have been dancing around the issues.

“Let me tell you, the 2017 Memorandum of Agreement had timeline, but one year after, the timeline was not met and another strike has had to be called to force the government to look into it.

“So, on this matter, what argument, what discussions, what agreement are you getting into again with the government when we had reached one with a timeline for the release of the money, owing people who have worked. “

“ASUU will for instance not insist that FG should pay the N1tr at once for the upgrade of universities. Last year, government proposed that it would release N20bn as a mark of commitment to the revitalisation of universities and ASUU accepted, but up till now it has not been done. Our members are very agitated and FG has not demonstrated commitment,”

9-year-old girl drags Ogun State govt to court over hijab, demands N1m.

A a 9-yr-old female student has dragged the Ogun govt to court for allegedly violating her fundamental human right to use Hijab, demanding N1m.

The student of Gateway Junior Secondary School, Aisha AbdulAleem dragged the State government and the Principal of her school, Mrs. Kushimo before a High Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta.

Dailypost reports that AbdulAleem, through her father, Mr. Muhammad AbdulAleem, dragged the school principal to the court for alleged forceful removal of her Hijab and denying her access to attend classes in the school.

AbdulAleem, in the originating summon filed by her counsel, Olusoji Odutan, seeks the relief of the court to declare as wrongful and unconstitutional the action of the principal to deny her access to education on account of directive of the state government for non-usage of Hijab in public schools in the state.

Odutan said that the refusal of the defendant to allow her client to use her Hijab, violates her rights to “freedom of thought, conscience and religion, freedom from discrimination and right to the dignity of the human persons and right to education”.

The claimant in the suit number AB/5271/2018 also seeks for an order of perpetual injunction restraining the state government and its officers from further infringing on her fundamental human right to use Hijab.

Odutan prayed the court to award the sum of N50,000 against the defendant for serving counter affidavit on him on the day of the hearing of the case, as it will take time for him to study and respond appropriately.

I dont take romantic roles because of my tribal marks – Sanyeri says

Sanyeri says

Comic Yoruba actor, Olaniyi Afonja, popularly known as Sanyeri, has said his tribal marks has given him an edge in the movie industry.

He made this known during a chat with Saturday Beats, Sanyeri said even though his tribal marks had put a limit to the kind of roles he plays in movies, it had also helped him to carve a niche for himself. He said;

“I started appreciating my tribal marks when I became an actor. I know that due to my tribal marks, I may not be able to take up some roles, especially lover boy and romantic roles, much less compete with other good-looking actors in the industry.

“But you know God works in mysterious ways. My tribal marks have brought many comic roles my way and that has automatically given me an edge as an actor. And that is why you won’t see me acting romantic roles.

“Even though as a child, people used to make a jest of me and I used to feel bad especially as I’m the only one with tribal marks among my siblings, I was never angry with my parents for giving me these tribal marks. Right now, no one can mock me again because I’m now more comfortable with them and I have made a fortune with them.

A man identified as Mariusz Sz has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for imprisoning his wife in a dark basement where she was raped by him and his brothers for a fee. The shocking incident took place in the small village of Parszczyce in Pomeranian, Poland.

The victim, who has not been named in reports, was beaten, starved and repeatedly raped by her husband and allegedly by his two brothers and a friend.

Mourinho names two Manchester United legends behind his sack from club

Mourinho names two

Jose Mourinho believes Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes, conspired against him to get him sacked at Manchester United.

The Portuguese’s two-and-a-half years at Old Trafford came to an end on Tuesday, after he was sacked by the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Mourinho was “surprised” by the club’s decision and felt the board should have given him more time, given his view that they failed to back him in the transfer market.

The 55-year-old felt his first two seasons at the club were a success, but blamed “outside negativity” from pundits like Ferdinand and Scholes, for creating a bad atmosphere at Old Trafford.

Scholes in particular has been scathing of Mourinho in recent months and said the coach was “embarrassing” the club.

Mourinho refused to criticise former players in press conferences but was hugely resentful towards the likes of Scholes during his final months at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has since been placed in charge at Old Trafford on a temporary basis.

10 Morning Wood (Erection) Facts You Probably Didn’t Know

Many young men, and even some older ones who haven’t found the right people to ask, are curious about morning wood. Most people who have the experience, with some regularity, of waking up in the morning with an erecti0n and wonder, what’s up with this?

This is a difficult thing to understand for women and even people who own a pen!s. Doctors, however, have studied why this morning wood happens to men. Yes, hard to believe, that science spent time on this subject.

Below are some of the facts they discovered from their studies.

ENJOY and SHARE!

1. It’s just part of life, men of all ages wake up with an erecti0n.

The medical name for a morning wood is nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT). There are some assumptions as to why this happens to men when they wake up in the morning.

2. It becomes less frequent when you get to a certain age.

This morning wood phenomenon becomes less and less frequent around the time men are in the 60’s and 70’s.

3. The brain controls our bodies and function. This is why men can control being aroused at work, in the gym or on a date.

While at sleep, some parts of the brain are shut down, that means the brain no longer keeps the pen!s in check. Whereas normally the brain is regulating the pen!s and making sure erecti0ns only occur when needed, during REM the pen!s is free to do whatever it wants – And what does it want? You guessed right! Get hard!

4. It’s a lot stronger in the morning because he’s hormonal.

Guy’s testosterone level is at its highest, early in the day around 25% to 50%. As the day progresses, the levels begins to drop.

5. The pen!s gets hard when it’s rubbed up against something accidentally, during sleep.

The pen!s gets aroused by touch, physical stimulation. Hence, if the body is pressed against something or someone, it’s responded by making the pen!s do what it knows how to do best – getting hard.

6. It’s just a way for the pen!s to exercise

NPT can actually be a way the body conditions the pen!s to keep blood in it for long periods of time. There’s no other place in your body that has to trap blood for an extended period of time,” says Dr. Alukal. “For example, if we took a tourniquet and tied it around your foot for a half hour, we might have some problems afterward.

But your pen!s is expected to trap blood for a half hour or an hour and be fine afterward. But Dr. Alukal is quick to point out that this is just a theory, and there’s no data to back it up. (source: cosmopolitan.com)

7. A man’s erecti0n comes after receiving signals from the brain telling him he is stimulated and ready.

8. Guys experience multiple boners per night
Doctors estimate that men will have about four to five erecti0ns throughout the night with each lasting approximately 25-30 minutes. In case you are wondering, that is totally normal.

9. A man’s bladder may also be making him get an erection.

It is a common myth that morning erecti0ns are caused by a full bladder. While we know that having a full bladder can lead to an erecti0n in someone who is awake (we know this through research with men with spinal cord injuries) it’s not clear that this does cause erecti0ns throughout the night.

10. Getting the morning wood is good news, don’t get embarrassed cos of that.

Men on average have morning erections about three times a night. Doctors say this means your testosterone levels are good, and his overall health is doing great.

Woman earns ₦28 million a year from selling own used pant (Photo)

A woman has revealed she earns around £60,000 (about N28m) a year selling her worn pants and uses the money to look after stray cats, who visit her home.

Raven Nix, 33, from Bristol, sells her worn undies for £20 (about N9,200) a time and also cashes in by selling pots of urine and raunchy videos to strangers online, according to odditycentral.com.

She also makes cash from ‘money slaves’, who deposit cash in her account for no reason and enjoy the humiliation of being ignored by her.

The animal lover, who once sold two thongs for £250 (about N115,000), said that rather than splashing out on a lavish lifestyle, she uses the money to pay for vet’s bills and pet food as she can’t resist helping stray cats.

Nix said ;

“Before I did this if there was an animal that needed me, I’d have to think about whether I could afford it – then I found out I could sell my underwear.

“I’ve got four cats that live in my house, another that lives outside and there are feral ones that come around so I can feed them.

“There are 11 in total that come to get fed. I’ve also got a bunny.

“I just take them in. I live on my own and I love them. I’m a real cat lady. I can’t resist helping an animal if I see that it’s in need.”

Her family and partner aren’t bothered about it either.

“My aunty thinks it’s a brilliant way to make money and my fella (man) is fine with it. He says if someone wanted to pay for his boxers, he’d definitely do it.”

Explaining how she got started with her enterprise, she said, “Someone messaged me asking if they could buy a pair of underwear.

I thought ‘that’s disgusting’ but then I spoke to a friend who said there was a market for it. I thought this could be something I could do.

“It went from there. I sold a dirty pant for £20 and lots more inboxed me with requests.

“I buy them in bulk from supermarkets, £8 (about N4,000) for five pairs, and wear them. Some people have particular requests.

Segregation in nollywood is too much –Actor Kevin Ikeduba says

Nollywood actor, Kevin Ikeduba, recently shared a video where he spoke passionately about the movie industry in Nigeria. In the video, he said, “I laugh anytime people say social media is full of people living fake lives because the level of fake lives on social media is nothing compared to what exists in the movie industry.

His words were misconceived by some people, as they thought he was referring to the lifestyles of some of his colleagues in the industry.

However, in an exclusive interview with Saturday Beats, Ikeduba said his message was not directed at any of his colleagues or individuals but at the structure of the industry itself.

“We need to have one body, it may seem difficult because of the different tribes but it can still work. That is why Nigeria is still standing as a country because we are united despite our diversity. If it can happen in Nigeria, then it is possible in Nollywood. If we go to the government as one body, then the government will listen to us. Instead of going in different groups and backstabbing one another,” he said.

The actor stated that he was not the type of person to rant on social media, adding that he was motivated to speak up because of the happenings in the movie industry.

“I am not one who will normally rant on social media; I hold no grudge against any of my colleagues. I was motivated to use the content of my video because I just thought about the happenings in Nollywood. The whole ‘fake life’ issue I talked about has nothing to do with individuals; everyone has the right to live their lives the way they choose to. I was coming from the angle of the industry itself. If we were united and had a strong organisation, it would be better for us. I am bothered about the structure, some people may think it won’t work, but I believe that if it can work for Nigeria, then it can work for Nollywood. It was just my opinion; I didn’t consult anyone before making the video.

“I have a very good career as I am one of the popular actors in Nigeria. The statement I made was not directed at anyone. If anyone thinks I am fake; it is their opinion, it is impossible to satisfy everybody. I was trying to pass a message across to everyone in Nollywood, including me. The information I was trying to pass across was that the segregation in Nollywood was too much. For example, in the US; artistes are united. Their body can write to the government to make a request. Since they are united, the government will listen to them.

“But here in Nigeria, if we need support from the government, and the artistes go in different groups, the government won’t take us seriously. The segregation is there, they see some people as those who their movies do well in the cinema and others as those who make home videos. When actors were born, they were not born with the inscription ‘cinema’, written on their foreheads, we are all actors. We need to be united. Togetherness will take us forward; let’s not pretend that we don’t have problems when we do.

“No one has attacked me; if anyone attacks me, it means the person thinks I am referring to them. No one has attacked me or said anything bad to me. If I have a problem with anyone, I will approach the person and sort things out,” he said.
