Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has asked Nigerians to be patient with the ruling party, saying the party indeed promised change in 2014 when it was campaigning but that it never promised to effect the changes within four years.
Fashola said this at the inauguration of President Buhari’s 2019 campaign in Ikeja, Lagos State on Tuesday November 20th.
“In 2014, we said we would change Nigeria but we did not say we will do it in four years. This election therefore is a choice between going forward to the next level or backward because the work has already begun.
Since I became a minister, the president has never interfered in what I do. He has never lobbied me for contract and I can assure you that it is like that with other ministers.

A man who is suffering from cancer has said he still loves his wife even though she had him shot in a murder plot.
Ray Weatherall, 53, had no idea that his wife Hayley Weatherall, 32, and his best friend of over 20 years, Glenn Pollard were having an extramarital affair and planned to kill him.
He was shot in the face with a rifle in Sandwich, Kent, by Pollard’s daughter Heather, but he survived. Hayley and the Pollard were jailed for a total of nearly 50 years for the attempted murder.
Ray, a tree surgeon, told The Sun:
I love Hayley, I always have and always will.
He added:
I’m a tough old bugger. Always have been. I’ve managed to survive a lot.
I feel like a cat with nine lives. I’ve probably only got one or two left the way things have been going. I can still laugh. I ain’t lost my sense of humour.

At their trial at Maidstone Crown Court, it was heard that a police investigation revealed that there had been other unsuccessful attempts on the man’s life, planned before and after the shooting.
Investigating officer PC Paul Wilson said:
This has been a very complex case and extremely difficult for the victim who is quite frankly lucky to be alive.
He’s had to come to terms with the fact that three people close to him who he cared about were so intent on hurting him.
They’ve also put him through further distress with a long and upsetting trial that has revealed all the despicable actions of these three individuals.
The judge said Hayley Weatherall and Glenn Pollard pursued their affair with intensity, sending each other explicit texts and exchanging sexual photos.
Passing sentence, Judge Adele Williams said:
This was cruelty of a high degree – cold, calculated and chilling cruelty.
You conspired to murder a man because he stood in your way.
That man was your husband, Hayley Weatherall, your best friend of over 20 years Glenn Pollard and your Uncle Ray, your father’s best friend and a man you had known all your life, Heather Pollard.
Each of you plotted and planned to kill him with determination and persistence.
Pollard and Weatherall decided the only way they could be together was to kill Ray.
Hayley Weatherall reportedly told a relative in July 2017:
I can’t wait for him to die.
Their schemes began unravelling in January after Ray’s niece Emma Worsfold tipped off cops that they were trying to kill Ray, after she learned of the affair.
Kent Police raided their homes and quickly recovered the bolt-action rifle that was used to shoot Ray. Phones and electrical devices were analysed and hundreds of messages were discovered between Glenn and Heather Pollard, including messages about how they planned to kill Ray Weatherall.

The jury was also told about other events that had threatened the victim’s life between 2017 and 2018, which they all thought were accidents, not knowing they were attempts to kill him.
Ray was blown up when his burner exploded. He was also set up to be drowned during a fishing trip with Pollard. According to the plan, Pollard was to push him overboard during a fishing trip on a boat they co-owned. There was also an incidence of suspected poisoning. Glenn Pollard commanded Hayley Weatherall to poison her husband with an insulin overdose.
All three were convicted last week, and sentenced on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Glenn Pollard got life with a minimum of 17 years while the other two were jailed for life with a minimum of 15 years.
A TV presenter in Turkey suffered a heart attack during a live broadcast recently and collapsed – Sukru Oytan, a sports presenter, had been fitted with a pacemaker just 10 days prior, after being diagnosed with arrhythmia — slow or irregular heartbeats.

A viral video footage shows Oytan slump suddenly on the desk in front of him, before sliding off his chair and falling onto the studio floor.
Oytan was analysing the Sports Toto 1st League Eskisehirspor-Umraniyespor match when he paused suddenly. After a short silence, he can be seen leaning with his head resting against the table, while his co-presenter, Guven Sabaz, appears to be confused about what to do in the situation.
He can be seen panting as he bends over and Sabaz begins walking over to his colleague but Oytan falls out of his chair and onto the floor in a heap.
Turkish media said that Oytan had suffered a heart attack on air and was rushed to hospital, where he was now reportedly in a stable condition.

Six members of a 9-man robbery gang have been arrested in Ugbema, Benue State.
The suspects were arrested on November 19, 2018. They are identified as: Gang leader Akighir Tyolumun, 18, Iorlumun Kyanya, 18, Chia Joshua, 18, Tevershima Terhemba, 25, Peter Terlumun, 20, and Tarkighir Emmanuel, 18.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Nicholas Anthony Sardo of Citra, has been arrested and charged with four counts of bestiality/sexual contact with an animal.
Deputies say that on October 16, a witness came forward and reported that she had witnessed Sardo having sex with a miniature male pony named Jackie G in a pasture on a family member’s property three days earlier.
Another witness came forward saying she saw it as well, and she approached Sardo about what she had seen, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sardo immediately admitted to her that he had sex with the horse and also gave the same admission to a detective investigating the allegation.
Sardo added that he had sex with the horse four times during the course of a week, according to the detective. The sheriff’s office stated in a press release that, “he used a condom each time because he didn’t want to get a disease from the horse.”
Additionally, Sardo told the detective that he knew he was wrong for what he did and that, “he was a sick man,” according to the sheriff’s office.
One of Sardo’s family members is the owner of the horse and the horse is currently under their care. Stipulations of Sardo’s future contact with the horse could be determined by a judge in the near future.
Sardo is currently being held in the Marion County Jail.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has advised Nigerians not to hand over the nation and democracy to people he described as ‘thieves and hooligans’.
The former president said this when he spoke at the launch of Goodluck Jonathan’s book in Abuja, on Tuesday November 20th.
Speaking at the event, Obasanjo said;
“There is still no substitute for democracy when all is said and done. It fosters peace. It builds and does not destroy. It unifies, rather than divides.
But all these can only happen if democracy is in the hands of democrats. If it is in the hands of thieves and hooligans, they can use it as a weapon. We should ensure hooligans don’t get it.”
The former president has since asked Nigerians to vote out the Buhari-led administration in 2019 and has openly declared his support for Atiku Abubakar, who is running as the PDP presidential candidate in next year’s election.
A lady was, last Monday, caught after she stole a 2-month-old baby at the Mammy Market, along Portharcourt Road, Obinze, Owerri, Imo State.
According to reports, the mother of the child had just finished breastfeeding her, but as she turned to clear up her bed so as to lay her on it, the suspect swooped in and took the baby.
Luckily, the mom turned almost immediately, to see the suspect making away with her child. Her loud scream attracted passersby, who chased and caught the suspect.

A Nigerian guy on Facebook, with the name Ghiz Enoch on the platform, took to his account to give the details of how he was tortured by the Nigerian police who mistook him for a cop killer.
According to him, he was going for a vigil last Friday night when he heard gunshots and decided to run for his life but unfortunately fell into the hands of policemen who were not on uniform.
These policemen then took him into custody under the arrest that he had killed a policeman during the gunshots spree he had earlier heard.
Sharing photos of the result of the torture he faced with the policemen, he cursed the force as he thanked God for his life.

I was on transit on friday night for a vigil in church and got down at a bus stop, I and my Bro. Immediately we heard gunshots and we ran towards different directions and unfortunately where I stopped there were two men standing by but weren’t on uniforms and I didn’t know they were police men. They handcuffed me and said I killed a police man at that bus stop that night. That’s how they took me to torture room and almost killed me. They ended up partially crippling me…..I’ve not walked since Friday night.

A commercial bus conductor on Monday beat his driver around 3.45pm in Mile One, Port Harcourt, which forced passersby to intervene and restore peace.
According to reports by Punch Metro, Trouble started when their vehicle ran out of fuel and the driver decided to close for the day and opted to pay his conductor N2,000 instead of the agreed N3,000 for the entire day.
It was gathered that the bus conductor got infuriated by the decision of his boss and insisted that the earlier agreed amount must be paid to him regardless of what had happened.
An eyewitness, who identified himself simply as Confidence, said the commercial bus driver and his conductor started an argument, which resulted in a fight.
He said;
“The driver wanted to pay his conductor N2,000 as against the N3,000 agreed by both of them. This was because they had closed earlier than expected because their vehicle ran out of fuel unexpectedly and there was not enough money to refuel the vehicle.
“The conductor, however, insisted that the agreed sum of N3,000 be paid to him by the driver. But when the driver refused, a fight ensued. The bus conductor beat up his driver, tearing his clothes and also stripping him n*ked. We had to intervene to settle the fight.”
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni when contacted said, he had not been briefed about the incident.
According to a report by Punch, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Dr Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), said on Tuesday that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is the worst in the history of Nigeria.
Agbakoba, who is one of the leaders of the National Intervention Movement, described the last four years under Buhari as locust years, saying the Coalition of United Political Parties were determined to save the country by bringing Buhari’s reign to an end.
He described Buhari’s re-election mantra of “Next Level,” as a failed document and one lacking in “conceptual overhang”.
Agbakoba, who rated the campaign document of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, better than Buhari’s, said were the presidential election to hold today, Atiku would win, while Buhari would come “distant second”.
He, however, expressed the fear that Buhari, if defeated, might not be willing to relinquish power, decrying the presence of the service chiefs at the launch of Buhari’s re-election campaign on Sunday.
The lawyer spoke with journalists in his Ikoyi, Lagos office on Tuesday morning.
He said;
“We clearly understand that to win the forthcoming elections, we require a united opposition. So, all the parties are simply presenting their presidential candidates but by January, the CUPP will formalise its consensus candidate.
“It may well be Atiku or it may not but the person who will be chosen must be one who has the heavy-lifting, who can get the job done.
“Personally, I’m pro-Atiku because I think he has the heavy-lifting but I will not preempt anything.
“We are all united in the mantra and the strong song around our campaign; that is: Anybody but Buhari. That’s the campaign – Anybody but Buhari.
“We are making sure that the four locust years from 2015 to 2019 will never repeat themselves in Nigeria. This has been the worst government in Nigeria’s history.
“Unemployment rate at 20 million, youth unemployment is so high, inflation at about 18 per cent, borrowing requirement or interest rate at about 22 per cent; nothing is working. So, we need to do something to reclaim it.
“So, that’s the message; we are working with the united opposition party, which we now have. Obasanjo’s own is called ADC, I am affiliated to the Peoples Trust and all of these come under the umbrella of the third force.”

The police in Lagos have arrested a father, Peter Adeda, for allegedly defiling his two-year-old daughter on Oyetayo Olafisoye Street, Westwood Estate, Badore, Ajah.
A medical report was said to have confirmed there was penetration, as the victim allegedly pointed at her father when questioned, describing how the act took place.
Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti, in a statement, said preliminary medical report indicated that there was penetration and that the baby was infected with Sexually Transmitted Disease, CSP Chike Oti, also said the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, had directed that the matter be transferred to the Gender Section for further investigation.
“The Gender Section is also investigating one Abdullahi Garuba, a 58-year-old security man attached to Oshodi Isolo Local Government Area secretariat, for allegedly defiling two minors.
“Troubled started for Garuba when concerned citizens, who couldn’t understand what business he had with little boys that trooped in and out of his security post which also doubled as his residence, leaked information to the mothers of two little boys, ages 13 and 11, when they saw them coming out of his abode, at 2pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
“The children were questioned by their respective mums and they confessed that the suspect had been having anal sex with them. The matter was thereafter reported for investigation at the Gender Section of the command,” Oti added.

Referee Bakary Gassama has denied reports claiming he apologized for obvious error calls he made during the Eagles vs South Africa encounter.
Speaking to Brila FM in a telephone interview, the 39-year-old FIFA referee denied talking or apologizing to anyone as it’s been reported in the Nigerian dailies.
’Referees don’t talk to Journalists, Gassama replied Bekederemo who was asking the Gambian Referee to clear the air on the allegations.

Donning a pink sparkly gown, the young girl can be seen delicately touching her long ringlets as a local singer gets the crowd going.
The groom can be seen dancing along to the folk music, with his pals by his side, appearing to boost his confidence.
The singer calls on the groom and tells him to: “Leave the toys aside, today you’ve married your bride.”

Seconds later, the bride is propelled onto a stool, for all to gaze at her gown which appears to be of an adult size.
Appearing confident, the girl poses as the women continue to pamper her and sew her into the dress.
The footage attracted a number of disapproving comments when posted online.
One user, Don Vochin, insisted it was not a legally binding wedding.
He claimed the official ceremony would take place when the youngsters are older.
