Residents of Birnin Gwari LGA, the local government badly affected by activities of bandits and kidnappers also burned APC flags and brooms, as a sign of rejection of the party in the coming general election.
The Kaduna residents who washed their streets with soap and water shortly after Governor El-Rufai’s visit, had previously been promised a faculty of Kaduna State University and the Governor had also allegedly promised them that he will relocate his office to the area pending when bandits ravaging the area are flushed out. However it was gathered that none of these alleged promises was fulfilled.

First son of embattled Kogi Senator Dino Melaye, Josh, took to his Instagram page this morning at about 3am to corroborate Ben Bruce’s claim that since their father was arrested on January 4th, they have been kept in horrific condition.
In his post, Josh said they have no light in their house and that himself and his two other siblings buy water to drink. According to Josh, the policemen still stationed around their home, restrict visitors from visiting them.
The Lagos state police command has announced the arrest of 16 suspects in connection to the violence that broke out during a rally organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
Rival factions of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) clashed at the APC rally which was supposed to mark the flag-off of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the party’s guber candidate’s campaign.
According to reports, two journalists were injured and a prominent NURTW chieftain, MC Oluomo was stabbed in the neck with a poisoned knife.
Speaking to Channels Television, the Lagos state police commissioner, Edgal Imohimi said the clash was caused by a crisis with the union.
According to the police boss, the arrest was made possible following the discovery of the hideout of the thugs who were hired to carry out the attack.
He also told newsmen that MC Oluomo, who was rushed to Eko Hospital, is recuperating.
Imohimi said “At about 2:00 am, I led my men on a road to Lagos Island where I got intel that some of the boys were hired from.
“In those two locations by the uncompleted millennium housing estate and some areas under the bridge at Adeniji Adele, we arrested 14 suspects, some of them have given us useful information.
“The Deputy Commissioner of Police Investigation State CID is handling this matter personally. So, as at now, we have a total of 16 suspects that are being interrogated
The preliminary interrogation we have carried out reveals that it is just their intraparty national union crisis.
“I hear that their state chairman is exiting soon and there are some players who are fighting to take over from him. But for crying out loud, is it the flag off of a governorship candidate that is a good venue for them to do their inter-party squabbles?”.
The Lagos State Police Command has declared a chieftain of the NURTW, Mustapha Adekunle aka Seigo, wanted in connection to Tuesday’s violence.

President of ASUU, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, who reacted to claims that the ASUU strike might be suspended soon, stated that no agreement has been reached with the federal government.
Prof Biodun Ogunyemi who spoke with Tribune, disclosed that the team that represented the union at the meeting with representatives of government had no final say over calling off the ASUU strike action.
“It was just yesterday (Tuesday) that government sent the proposal to us without waiting for feedback before going to the public that we have reached an agreement. ASUU does not operate in that manner.
“The ASUU team that met the Federal Government would have to consult our principal over the proposal which we are already doing.
“So, ASUU cannot make a pronouncement on a mere proposal. Until our principal agrees, there is no agreement. And that is what we have always emphasized to government that we are going to consult our members and if after consultation, our members think the proposal is good enough, we will get back to government and tell them that now, we have taken a decision which becomes an agreement.
“But so far on government proposal, we have not taken a decision. And our strike is still ongoing.
“If you say you are going to set up a committee and you have set up that committee, that one is clear. And if you say you are going to pay certain money for certain purpose and you have paid, that will not also cause further argument. But where we said you should release certain amount of money in five tranches within certain period of time, and you are saying well, you have paid N20 billion, or you have paid N2 billion or N15. 4 billion, it means you haven’t started.
“So, that is the level we are now. And we don’t have a final say on any proposal that is controversial. But for areas that are not controversial as I had mentioned, we will only need to confirm payment. If paid, fine. It then means that one is settled and we now move to another one that is yet to be settled. And the one that is not settled we will need to take feedback to our members and that is the position we are at the moment” he said.

It is no longer news that a NURTW leader Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly referred to as MC Oluomo was stabbed with a poisoned knife at the Lagos APC rally yesterday.
An APC chieftain who was at the venue made the revelation to The Pulse on condition of anonymity.
“MC Oluomo was stabbed twice with a poisonous knife called Makenje (which literally translates to don’t touch blood). All the VIPs were spirited out of the venue by security personnel. It was like a war zone with sophisticated guns and machetes on display”, he said.
Another source said, “It was well planned by top politicians. This was carried out by thugs loyal to Ambode’s camp. These thugs and the politicians who put them up to this are still angry that Ambode didn’t get a second term ticket.
The plot was to disrupt the rally and turn attention away from the candidate Sanwo-Olu. And you have to say they succeeded to some degree”, says the source.
MC Oluomo wasn’t supposed to be rushed to the hospital after being stabbed, because he supposedly wears a spiritual armour that shields him from gun, knife and other dangerous weapons. Which was why the knife used to stab him was a poisoned one.
But he was expected to be inured from the venom of a poisoned knife, no less.
“The only way they could break through MC Oluomo’s skin was to poison the knife and as I speak with you now, native and medical doctors are battling to keep him alive by extracting the venom from his system. It’s 50:50 for him now”, another APC source shares.
Another source mentioned that MC Oluomo is recovering in hospital after “doctors and two elderly jazzmen (native doctors) extracted the poison from his system

Forbes has released their 20-man richest men in Africa list, for the year 2019.
This list was released today, 9th of January, 2019.
The list has revealed that there were fewer and poorer billionaires on the African continent in 2019.
Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote retained his place as the richest man in Africa on the newly released Forbes’ list of African billionaires.
He, however, lost almost $2bn compared to his last year’s worth. Dangote’s estimated $10.3 billion net worth is nearly $2 billion less than a year ago.
The continent’s second richest is Mike Adenuga, also of Nigeria, worth an estimated $9.2 billion.
Adenuga owns Globacom, which is Nigeria’s third-largest mobile phone network, plus oil exploration firm Conoil Producing, extensive real estate holdings in Nigeria and a network of 12,000 cellphone towers. .
His net worth has climbed dramatically from $5.3 billion in January 2018 as a result of more detailed information provided by him about his assets.
In a per country ranking, Egypt and South Africa are tied with five billionaires each, followed by Nigeria with four and Morocco with two.
Nigerian cement mogul Abdulsamad Rabiu, who runs and owns the BUA Group, returns to the list for the first time since 2015.
He merged his Kalambaina Cement firm into publicly traded Cement Company of Northern Nigeria, which he controlled, in late 2018. Rabiu now owns 97% of the list entity.
Kalambaina, which operates a new cement production facility, started selling cement in mid-2018. Separately, Rabiu’s OBU Cement recently expanded its operations, adding a new production line.
Nigeria’s Alakija owns a stake in one of the most productive oil fields in Nigeria, currently operated by Chevron. Her net worth dropped due a decline in the value of the oil field, in part because its production has leveled off.
Altogether the 20 African tycoons are worth $68.7 billion, down from $75.4 billion for last year’s list. However, the average net worth for each list member this year has climbed to $3.4 billion from $3.3 billion in early 2018.

A pastor has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and impregnating a 16-year-old girl in Abusoro, Ijoka area of Akure, Ondo state.
The suspect Josiah Akinsuyi, is the pastor of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Ondo state.
Parading Josiah Akinsuyi before newsmen, the state Commandant of NSCDC, Pedro Awili, said the suspect’s act was brought to light after the victim confessed to her father that she is four months pregnant and that the pastor is responsible for her pregnancy.
The victim and her parents were taking refuge in the church building when the pastor seduced her and started sleeping with her.
The NSCDC commandant said the pastor who was transferred to the church last year was introduced to the girl by one Sunday Babatunde, who had also been sleeping with the girl.
He added that one of the sisters of the victim knew about the development and from the investigation of the command, the girl’s sister had to intervene before the victim could cooperate with the pastor.
“Our investigation revealed that the pastor has been sleeping with the young girl for some time. A pregnancy test had been conducted which confirmed that the girl is four months pregnant. We also discovered one of the elder sisters of the girl knew about the whole development.
It was gathered that the young girl rejected the Akinsuyi overtures the first time he talked to the girl but her elder sister intervened, urging the young girl to cooperate with the pastor and she has been sleeping with her since then.
The young girl said the man has been sleeping with her in the classroom of one private school owned by Pastor Akinsuyi’s wife. Though the pastor denied having any intercourse with the girl”
The pastor denied the allegation, saying it was a calculated attempt to smear his image. He denied having sex with the girl.

A young man is now disabled, bed-bound and needing constant care after selling his kidney to buy an iPhone, according to recent reports on Chinese media.
The 25-year-old man, known by his surname Wang, had his kidney removed in an underground clinic before selling it on the black market for 22,000 yuan (£2,528) in 2011 when he was just 17 years old.
The teenager wanted an iPhone and iPad desperately in order to prove to his classmates that he was trendy, but his cash-strapped parents could not afford them.
His story shocked the country at the time, leading iPhones to be billed as ‘kidney machines’ by web users.
In order to raise funds for his gadgets, the high school student found three middlemen on a Chinese online chatting platform QQ, who promised to help him realise his dream – but at the cost of one kidney.
To complete the transaction, Wang travelled from his hometown in the eastern Anhui Province – one of China’s poorest provinces – to the southern Hunan Province in April, 2011.
He organised his travels secretly and neither of his parents was aware of his plan.
Upon his arrival, the middlemen introduced the boy to two surgeons, one surgeon’s assistant and one nurse, all of who worked at local hospitals and were moonlighting.
An operation soon took place at an un-certified clinic provided by one middleman to remove the right kidney from Wang, according to a report on CCTV.com at the time.
The kidney was then sold to a patient by the middlemen illegally and the recipient paid 150,000 yuan (£17,258) as well as $10,000 (£7,860) for the organ. Wang was paid 22,000 yuan – 10 per cent of the total profit – while the middlemen kept the majority of the money.
The boy immediately bought an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 with the money before returning to Anhui Province.
His mother only discovered the situation when she saw him with his new digital products. She wondered where he had got the money and Wang told her he had sold his kidney. His mother called the police.
After the operation, Wang’s health quickly deteriorated. He suffered from renal deficiency and later became disabled, according to CCTV.com citing a report from local news site VOC.

A Magistrate court in Lagos has ordered three Senior Secondary School 1 (SS1) students (names withheld), who allegedly gang-defiled their 15-year-old classmate be remanded in a juvenile home.
The state police had dragged the teenagers, aged: 16, 16 and 14 years before the court on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful canal knowledge, sexual assault and defilement.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Hafsat Ajibode, told the court that the boys committed the offences in July 2018 at Makoko Area of Lagos State. She said that the boys gang-defiled their 15-year-old classmate at her resident.
“The boys claimed that they came to visit their female classmate at her house while her parents were not around. They offered her a drink which was suspected to contain some sleeping pills and that was the last the girl remembered when she became conscious. When she regained consciousness, she discovered that she was Unclad and bleeding while the boys had disappeared.
She raised the alarm which led to the arrest of the accused. The girl has since been traumatized and hospitalized as a result of the incident,” she said.
Sgt. Ajibode said that the offences contravened Sections 260 (1) (2) (4), 261, 263 (1) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The case was adjourned until Jan.16 for mention.

As the 2019 governorship election draws nearer, President Buhari has advised Nigerians not to re-elect state governors that have formed the habit of owing workers in their state civil service many months of salaries despite receiving bailouts from Federal government.
In an interview with the Hausa service of Voice of America, VOA, which was aired yesterday, President Buhari said he saw no justification in governors collecting bailout funds from the Federal Government and still fail to pay the salaries of the the civil servants.
He stressed that workers have families as well to cater for and it is a matter of importance for a responsible governor to ensure that he pays the salaries of his workers.
“I wonder how these governors are able to sleep, knowing that they have refused to pay workers their wages. These workers have families to cater for, they pay rent, pay school fees, hospital bills and food for their families.” he said
First naked restaurant opened in November 2017 in Parisis being forced to close after low turn out of customers.
The nudist restaurant in the east of Paris, called “O’Naturel”, opened in November 2017 with so much publicity. But despite France’s reported 2.7 million practising naturists, the restaurant has not turned out to be sustainable in the long run.
The restaurant got rave reviews from customers who were expected to shed their clothes in the cloakroom and leave it there along with mobile phones to prevent people from sneaking a photo of other customers.

News of the closure sent a chill through the French naturist world, but campaigner Cedric Amato said the restaurant was ahead of its time.
“It may have been a little early” for an all year round nudist establishment in Paris, he told AFP.

The Rwandan government has announced a ban on cosmetic products used for lightening the skin.
“Love the skin you’re in”, is the message from Rwanda’s government in the fight against skin lightening products, reports eNCA.
Francois Uwinkindi of Rwanda’s Ministry of Health Cancer Unit said, “We are now putting more effort into educating people, going around and seizing those illegal products. We are joining those countries who are also in this fight against the use of those illegal skin-lightening cosmetics”.
Rwandan president, Paul Kagame, had earlier raised concerns about the growing use of skin-lightening products on social media.
On his verified Twitter handle last year, Rwanda had reacted to a call for the banning of the skin lightening products by tweeting, “Quite unhealthy among other things. Includes use of prohibited chemicals. MoH and RNP need to reign this in very quickly!”
It was reported that police in the country have already started confiscating thousands of products since the closing weeks of 2018.
