Earlier today, Nigerian musician and Police ambassador, Small Doctor was arrested with three others for allegedly being in possession of a firearm and threatening to shoot a police officer in Lagos.

Now a video has surfaced,showing the moment he and his crew were intercepted and arrested .

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal, told newsmen that the suspects were arrested after threatening to shoot policemen controlling the traffic at the ever busy Oshodi area of Lagos.

Edgal said that he was disappointed with the musician’s conduct because he had a case with the State CID, Panti for shooting a gun at his Agege show where he injured four persons.

“You would have thought the incident would caution him but surprisingly today, I got a situation report from traffic monitors at the Oshodi expressway about four unknown gunmen in green unregistered SUV.

“He (Small Doctor) allegedly brought out a weapon and threatened to fire the policemen. Fortunately the DPO and other policemen at Shogunle intercepted the suspects and arrested them. “When they were brought here it was discovered that one of them was the same Adekunle Temitope a.k.a Small Doctor with three others and they were arrested with a functional rifle, a cartridge and some personal items.

Ghana announces plan to impose tax on anointing oil and other merchandise sold by Churches

Emmanuel Kofi Nti, the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority has revealed plans to impose taxes on anointing oil, stickers and other merchandise sold by churches and pastors.

The internal revenue boss said that the only church revenues exempted from the planned taxes are offering and tithes.

He told Joy News ;

“The man of God; is he not an individual? And is he not accountable to the state for his tax obligations? There is an opportunity for us to look at it.”

He went to specifically say that the sticker of a popular pastor in Ghana, Bishop Daniel Obinim would be taxed accordingly because “it is income to him (Obinim)?”

The GRA has for months been considering a review of taxable activities by churches. President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo backs this plan for churches in the country to be taxed, grounding his position on the fact that churches have now moved into the realms of wealth creation and prosperity, rather than charity.

Rapper Reminisce has received lots of accolades for his professional performance for his role in the movie “King of Boys”.

The “Buru Shaga” crooner shared his experience about acting for the first time with the Hip TV crew. Reminisce played the character Makanaki in the Nigerian blockbuster movie.

He said he was intimidated by the acting prowess of Sola Sobowale and thought of abandoning his role in movie during his first day on set.

“So, yeah, I took up the challenge and my first day on set, I saw aunty Sola Sobowale in her full element. It was my birthday and Olamide was waiting for me at a night club but I had to shoot some scenes.

“So, I saw her in her full element and I told Kemi I can’t do this. She asked why I said look at this woman na, I can’t do this. This woman is in another world, I don’t want to mess up, I can’t do this. But Kemi convinced me and said she believed I can do it and I went back home and returned to give my best like you all saw in the movie”.

The LRR boss stated it took lots of convincing and 8 long months to finally accept the role.

“I wasn’t so sure I could do it because I had so much going on at that time but Kemi Adetiba was able to convince me and this took about eight months. Though there were a lot of other names flying around but she said no, that she wanted Reminisce to do this”, he said.

Singer Small Doctor arrested, paraded for threatening a police officer with a gun in Oshodi

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and paraded street pop star, Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor, for unlawful possession of firearms and for allegedly threatening to shoot a police officer.

Edgal Imohimi, Lagos State Commissioner of Police confirmed his arrest moments ago while parading the musician along with three other persons. Small Doctor was arrested on allegations that he threatened a Police officer who was on traffic duty along Oshodi, Lagos.

“It was alleged that some unknown men, four of them, in an unregistered green SUV had brought out a gun and threatened a policeman that if he does not leave the road, they will shoot him.

Believing that they were armed robbers, I sent out my men and fortunately, with the DPO in charge of Shogunle division, they were able to intercept them and the men were arrested and were brought down to the headquarters for interrogation.

It was then discovered that one of them is the same Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. ‘Small Doctor’. They were arrested in possession of a functional rifle, cartridge and some of their personal belongings” Imohimi said.

According to the commissioner, ‘Small Doctor’ had earlier been involved in a similar offence and is currently under investigation for firing live ammunition at the Agege stadium after a show on November 27.

He said: “Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. ‘Small Doctor’, was arrested and taken to the state CID for questioning. He was alleged to have fired a gun; the pellets from the gun injured four people who were rushed to the hospital.” ‘Small Doctor’ will be charged to court for prosecution.

A police van rammed into a tricycle this morning, in Asaba with the occupants currently being treated at the Federal Medical Center, Delta State.

Activist, Prince Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the story online, said the officers who are operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS) of the Nigerian Police Force, Delta State Command, were pursuing a Toyota Camry car they thought was owned by Yahoo Yahoo boys when they rammed into the tricycle.

Prince Harrison wrote ;

”Some operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS) of the Nigerian Police Force, Delta State Command were today ridiculed after they allegedly caused an accident within GT Bank Asaba while chasing a Toyota Camry car they mistook for YAHOO YAHOO.

The tricycle rider and the four passengers are currently admitted at Federal Medical Center Asaba receiving treatment. A concerned Nigerian reach out to Behind Bars Rights Defenders and we are on ground to make sure the injured passengers are treated.

The officers are here and they are taking care of the bills.

I advised policemen on street duty to be professional, courteous, shun corrupt practices, be well-behaved, be attentive and know that they are constantly being observed by members of the public.

Tosyn Bucknor’s Husband, Aurelien Boyer writes touching tribute – ‘She lived bigger than life, bolder than death’

Aurelien Boyer, the French husband of late Nigerian broadcaster Tosyn Bucknor who died on November 19th has just written a touching tribute to his late wife.

Boyer revealed that the the Service of Songs organized for Tosyn was an amazing outpour of genuine love honouring the impact, love, joy and happiness she created in all of us.

His tribute reads ;

I can say it at any time of the day, at any point in time, now. For you have changed days into nights and nights into days. You are irreplaceable. But you also made our lives sweet.? Wyfo, you gave me the happiest days of my life. 1 wedding, 2 weddings, 3 weddings, 4, and 1,722 days more. How would I summarize this in a lower number of words?

Labalaba mi, your pure heart saved mine when I thought it was already gone for love. And we’ve flown a première classe flight ever since then on your long and fragile wings. Irawo mi, you were a star to me. You were a Star to all. I remember seeing on one of your to-dos, titled ‘before I die’ and showing: ‘oscar, grammy, golden globe’.

Young man arrested while trying to kidnap a little girl for ritual purpose (Video)

A suspected kidnapper was on monday, apprehended at palm grooves, Port Harcourt, Rivers State while he was on a mission to abduct a little girl.

The suspected confessed that he was asked by one ‘baba’ to bring a little girl supposedly for ritual purpose.

The suspect has since been handed over to the Police.

A lady has taken to social media to narrate on how her boyfriend made police officers to arrest her because she left him, which he couldn’t bear because she was too good in bed.

According to the lady, she had to call it quit because the ex boyfriend impregnated his cousin, but was surprised when the police arrested her on his order.

I have tried so hard to reach out to some people/persons who I believed can be of help, but since I was unable to get access to them let me post it here on my page….. I was on my way home on 1/12/18. 7.15 P.M when I saw 3 men in police T shirt.

They said I had to go with them to their station that they came to arrest me, I laughed so hard because I thought they were only joking but when I started moving forward one of them grabbed my hand and said ”Are you stupid where do you think you are going?”!!.

I told them I would not go with them without telling me the crime I committed, so I started shouting that was how a dirty slap came from nowhere and landed on my face. At this point I was shouting, crying and shaking, I said to myself, no, these are not police officers these are kidnappers.

When we got to their station(egbeda police station in alimosho local govt lagos)that was when I realized that they are real police officers and not kidnappers ?….Behold my boyfriend (Ex )pay policemen to arrest me because I broke up with him and he couldn’t get himself another girl who is good in bed, that I’m too sweet and very romantic ?….

This is the guy I broke up with because he impregnated his own cousin. The police were saying I SHOULD TAKE THE GUY BACK BECAUSE HE IS CRAZY ABOUT ME, AFTERALL THEY HAVE TERMINATED THE SAID PREGNANCY, A MAN WILL ALWAYS CHEAT BUT WILL DEFINITELY RUN BACK TO THE SWEETEST WOMAN blah, blah, blah…

This is my uncle blaming me for keeping people’s secret, blaming me for being too good to people ( male & female ) blaming me for being good in bed, blaming me for being too calm. But this is who I am it is not my fault…

To those policemen here is my questions: (1)how much money did you guys collected to get me arrested?? (2)why did you guys treated me like a criminal (dragged and slapped me) when you knew perfectly well I did not commit any crime?? (3) why did you guys refused to release me until my uncle stormed the station??..

It was a storm yesterday in South Africa as Nigerian music stars D’banj, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Femi Kuti performed at Global Citizen Festival.

The Global Citizen Festival held last Sunday in Johannesburg, South Africa in honor of the late Nelson Mandela.

Besides the Nigerian musicians who graced the stage, there were performances from Usher, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce etc.

Tiwa Savage thrilled the spectators with a good line up of her hit records. D’banj made an electrifying performance as he made fans sway to ‘Oliver Twist’.

UNILAG medical students reportedly sleep on the road due to power outage in their hostels

The students say no one has explained to them why they have no power as other buildings surrounding their hostels have power.

A little boy who is alleged to be a ritualist, was apprehended in Jesse town in Delta state this morning.

Ossai Success Ovie who is an aide to the Delta state governor, shared the photos on his Facebook page this morning and said the boy was caught in the act.

A Nigerian lady residing in Denmark, was taken aback over the weekend when she spotted the mayor(governor) of Odense, the third largest city in the country, doing his grocery for his family in the same mall where she was shopping as well.

According to her, no security entourage was with him, a thing that is very peculiar to his Nigerian Counterparts

Nigerian Superstar singer, Davido, hours ago on Instagram, revealed who his Godfather is.

The 26-year-old singer who recently won lots of awards at the AFRIMA 2018 mentioned Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo (Hosa) as his Godfather.

Idahosa Wells Okunbo is a Nigerian business magnate, investor, philanthropist and trained commercial pilot.

Hosa chairman or director on numerous company boards in Nigeria, spanning multiple business sectors such as the agro-allied, petroleum, telecommunications, power, real estate and banking industries.

Davido made a post on Instagram saying:

Fr. Mbaka predicts defeat for Atiku and Peter Obi ? (Video)

The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has predicted doom’s day for the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.

The popular Catholic Priest spoke during the 2018 harvest and bazaar celebration at his Adoration Ground in Emene.

On former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku, Mbaka said that “if he continued on the same trajectory, he and his running mate would end in shame.”

Speaking in Igbo, Mbaka said, “Ask Atiku if it is these steps that the cow will take to reach Umuahia.”

Mbaka concluded by requesting that Atiku should reach out to Igbo leaders like Hon. Ike Ekweremadu and also come personally to adoration ground and do a project for them.”

He also berated Atiku’s running mate, Mr. Peter Obi.

Though he said they had always supported Obi, he stated that Obi had not done anything for his church.

He said God would bless Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and grant them second term for what they had done for him.

Fr. Mbaka curiously withheld Obi’s blessing and said he would only release it after Obi had done a project for them. Using Umahi as an example, Mbaka said: “Umahi donated 1,000 bags of rice and 1,000 tubers of yam to us, but it meant nothing to me until he handed N10 million cheque to me and promised to build a project for the ministry. This is the type of gesture we require from Obi”, he said.

While acknowledging the donation of N500,000 from Obi as his money for breaking of kolanut, he said “stinginess is not a virtue.”

Deputy Director, Ministry of Police Affairs arraigned for N145.3m fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Lagos office, has arraigned one Bello Na’ Allah Yabo, a Deputy Director, Accounts, Ministry of Police Affairs, before Justice A.I. Ogunmoye of the State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

He was arraigned on a 13-count charge bordering on conspiracy, fraudulent diversion of funds and money laundering to the tune of N145,342,063 (One Hundred and Forty-Five Million, Three Hundred and Forty-Two Thousand, Sixty-Three Kobo).

The offence is contrary to Sections 383(1) and 390(5) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. C16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2009.

Yabo is facing trial alongside his company, Imrana Ventures, for allegedly using his position as a former Pay Officer, Nigeria Police Force, Ekiti State, in 2015 to divert to his personal use, money meant as the emoluments of police officers in the state. The defendant allegedly concealed the proceeds of crime through his company account domiciled in Unity Bank.

One of the counts reads:

“That you, Bello Na’Allah Yabo, a.k.a. Imrana Ventures, between February 3 and 5, 2015, in Ado-Ekiti, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, fraudulently converted to your use the sum of N21,899,600.00 (Twenty- One Million, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Nine Thousand, Six Hundred Naira), property of the Nigeria Police Force.”

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him. In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, George Chia-Yakua, asked for a trial date and prayed the court to remand the defendant in prison custody.

The defence counsel, Y.C, Maikyau, prayed the court to move an application for bail dated November 14, 2018 on behalf of his client. There was pandemonium in the early hours of Monday, 3rd December, 2018 after Residents of Lekki Phase 1 woke up to the sight of a dead man in his car in the area and it is believed that he was killed by ritualists who then took his vital organs.

According to LIB, the man was found bleeding at the back of a silver Toyota Camry at about 6am this morning.

The car plate number cannot be revealed now as his family have not been notified. He was cut open from his chest down to his navel. It is believed that his vital organs were taken.

The car with the dead man in it was found on Dele Adedeji Street, Lekki Phase 1. Residents gathered to view the sight of the man covered in blood. The seats and floor of the car were also covered in blood and drops of blood can be seen on the road near where the car was parked.

The DPO of Maroko, SP Isah Abdumajid, who was present with his men at the scene, said a statement will be released in due time.

Nigerian rapper, CDQ who headlined an event at Harbour Point in Victoria Island area of Lagos, has taken to Twitter to beg for his pendant which was snatched during his performance.

The rapper who disclosed that the pendant is worth £4,000, added that it means a lot to him – he says he just needs it back and the fan who provides it will be getting what he or she wants.

Last weekend in Lagos, popular photographer Bolaji Alonge and his Belgian fiancée, Sandra got married and they raised eyebrows with their unusual cavalcade of 20 tricycles that conveyed them to the wedding reception.
