A young girl got pretty lucky to retain her sight, after a hook pierced through her eyelids in a yet to be disclosed incident.
The photos of the young girl was shared on social media by Imo State-based optometrist, Chidi Onyeji who described her as a miracle child. The girl who was rushed to the hospital almost immediately, was only left with a minor scar – with her eyeball fully intact.
Hon Chidi Onyeji Zanders who shared photos of girl on Facebook wrote;
“Her Eyeball is still intact, She is a miracle child, Thanks be to God”.

The Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State has ordered that former lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University OAU, Professor Richard Akindele who is standing trial for allegedly asking one of his students, Ms Monica Osagie, to have sex with him in exchange for marks, be remanded in prison.
Akindele was dragged before the court by the Independenct Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences, ICPC on a four count charge. The commission said that Akindele’s actions were contrary to Sections 8 (1) (a) (ii), and 18 (d) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 and are punishable under the same sections.
One of the counts reads, “That you , Professor Akindele, on or about the 16th day of September, 2017 at Ile -Ife did corruptly ask for sexual benefits for yourself from Ms. Monica Osagie on account of favour to be afterwards shown to her by you in the discharge of your official duties as a lecturer in the Department of Management and Accounting, Obafemi Awolowo University, to wit; altering her academic grades in the course with code MBA 632- Research Method from fail to pass; and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 8 (1)(a) (ii) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.”
After the charges were read to him, Akindele pleaded not guilty.
The lawyer of the accused, Omotosho Wale Francis pleaded with the court to adjourn the case as a result of some irregularities made by the Commission.
Akindele was sacked from the institution in June after he was found guilty.
The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a suspected pedophile for allegedly raping a 7 years old girl in Calabar.
The suspect identified as Isaac Evaghoghme was arrested last Wednesday through the efforts from the community and Basic Right Council Initiative, BRCI, a human rights, social advocacy and community development organisation based in Calabar.
It was gathered that the incident took place last week Sunday at Federal Housing Estate, Calabar Municipality local government area.
Confirming the arrest, the Executive Director of BRCI, Barr. James Ibor told CALABAR REPORTERS that the perpetrator broke into the victim’s house in the absence of her parent at about 10pm and defiled her.
“On the 14th of November, the Police arrested one Isaac Evaghoghme for sexually abusing a seven (7) year old girl. A Volunteer drew our attention when she saw the child bleeding from her Vagina.
“Isaac had broken into the survivor’s house, in the absence of her mother, on the 11th of November at about 10pm and abused her. On the 12th of November, the case was reported to us.
“We lodged a complain at Atakpa Police Station and immediately took the child for medical examination and treatment. At the hospital, the doctors discovered that the survivor’s vagina needed to be stitched as a result of the damage done by Isaac’s penetration. He was arrested on the 14th of November. Thanks to the community members who supported our effort to arrest him. The case has been transfered to the State Police Headquarters for prosecution.”
“From the 11th to the 14th of November, 2018, about four (4) cases of child sexual abuse, (3-7 years old), have been reported at different police stations. We appeal to parents/guardians to protect their children from pedophiles. We also appeal that community members should support efforts at making our communities save for children by reporting all forms of child abuse to the Police,” Ibor said.

There was drama, on Saturday, at Genesis cinema, Ajah, Lagos, as a wife busted her husband and his lover while they were waiting to see a movie.
It was gathered that the lovers were enjoying their popcorn and cold drinks when the wife entered.

A Delta State University female student, Elozino Ogege, who was declared missing about a week ago, has been reportedly found dead with her tongue and breasts severed from her body.
The remains of Elozino who is a student of the Department of Mass Communication, was found at about 2am on Monday by residents along Ekrejeta road in Abraka Community, Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Students in the community said Elozino may have been killed by suspected ritualists who pride themselves as “Yahoo Boys”.
The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, confirming the incident said, “The family of the girl is going through excruciating pain. They have not been informed.”
The Delta State Chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, Comrade Prince Kehinde-Taiga in a chat with journalists, said the CDHR would champion calls for the redeployment of the Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa from the State if he fails to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to justice.
Taiga said the rate of ritual killings, murder, kidnappings, armed robbery, rape and other social vices had increased under the watch of the CP.
Taiga who condemned the killing of the girl insisted that, “The perpetrators must be brought to book without any form of compromise. The CP must wake up from his slumber because justice must be served.”
A Facebook user who lives in Akwa Ibom state and was a guest at the wedding, took to the social media platform to share the picture of two Nigerian women locking lips, while condemning the women’s action considering the prohibition of such in Nigeria.

Ramzan Kadyrov, a Chechnya’s strongman leader and close lieutenant of President Vladimir Putin, has given his 5-year-old compatriot a luxury car as a gift for reportedly setting a record for most consecutive push-ups.
Rakhim Kurayev reportedly dedicated his feat of completing 4,105 push-ups in 2 hours and 25 minutes to Kadyrov, the head of Russia’s republic of Chechnya.
The young athlete, who local media call the “Chechen Schwarzenegger,” will reportedly have to repeat his feat next week in order to have it accepted into the Russian Book of Records.
Kadyrov met Kurayev and gave him a white Mercedes car as a gift, the state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported, on Thursday. “Let your father drive you around on this, you’re worthy of riding a white Mercedes,” Kadyrov was quoted as saying.
Kurayev told the Chechen leader that he is able to do more than 5,000 push-ups, before proceeding to demonstrate his abilities on the hood of the car, according to RIA.

Troops of the 24 Support Engineer Regiment Abakaliki have rescued an abandoned and malnourished child locked up in a house in Ebonyi State.
According to the Nigerian Army, the child was discovered during a search-and-rescue operation for a soldier, L/Cpl Oluwabukunmi Fadoju, who has been missing since September 17, 2018.
When the soldiers got to Onunwakpu in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on November 16, 2018, they were said to have discovered the malnourished child locked up in a house.
The child was seated on what appeared to be charms and was picking leaves from the ground to eat. The charms were burnt and the child was given some food before he was, thereafter, taken to the Medical Reception Station for treatment.
The child has been handed over to the Ebonyi State Government.

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), claims they have intercepted 581 million Tramadol tablets in two days raid.
The NDLEA who intercepted 241 million Tramadol tablets in 11 containers, weighing 118 metric tonnes, had earlier uncovered 340 million Tramadol tablets in 12 containers on November 15 at the port.
Mr Jonah Achema, Head of Public Affairs of the agency, Mr Jonah Achema,who confirmed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, disclosed that the seizure was made at the Apapa Port in Lagos. According to him, the containers had been on the watch-list of the NDLEA since November 2017, and were taken to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for search, based on the agency’s reasonable suspicion that they contained the drug.
He further disclosed that 39 more containers that were lined up for search, as the agency strongly suspected that they contained illicit drugs.
“This brings to 581 million Tramadol tablets uncovered within two days of the search. The search is still ongoing. We shall continue tomorrow as well,” he said.

HipHop mogul, Diddy has tweeted for the first time since the death his ex-partner and mother of his three kids, Kim Porter who was discovered dead at her Toluca Lake, California home on the 15th of November, 2018.
According to reports, she had been complaining of flu-like symptoms for several weeks, with fears she may have been suffering from pneumonia. A day before her death, she phoned doctors and said she wasn’t feeling any better.

A chieftain of ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Pastor Benjamin Imeogu, has reportedly been murdered by unknown gunmen.
According to reports, Imeogu who was the Chairman of the APC panel on the conduct of the National Assembly primaries in the FCT, was attacked along the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport road in Abuja last Thursday November 16th. He was reportedly shot five times on the chest at close range.
The deceased, his wife and three children were reportedly returning back from church, The Transforming Church, Galadimawa, when they were attacked. His wife and one of his sons are currently battling for their lives as bullets passed through their stomach while the remaining two children escaped with minor wounds.
It is yet to be ascertained if the attack was connected to the Abuja Municipal Area Council elections in which the deceased actively participated as the Chairman of the electoral committee.
His remains has since been deposited at the National Hospital’s morgue, while his wife and son are battling for their lives at an undisclosed hospital.
