A Mother has revealed she will miss breastfeeding her daughter after she finally weaned at the age of nine.
Sharon Spink, 50, has been breastfeeding daughter Charlotte for the past nine years and insists it is completely normal and has cemented a lifelong bond between them.
Sharon, from Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire, said despite doing it for almost a decade she is happy the schoolgirl made her own decision to stop two months ago.
The quinquagenarian, who supports natural term weaning, claims her daughter is healthy and rarely gets ill thanks to the beneficial properties of ‘mummy milk’.
And despite facing a backlash from critics who have accused her of child abuse, Sharon wants to break down the stigma around breastfeeding older children – believing there are many mums out there doing it.
Sharon said:

The Benue State Police Command has reportedly arrested a suspected cultist over the murder of one Oketa Simon, a 300 level Mass Communication undergraduate of Benue State University.
Simon, also a suspected cultist, was shot dead on the 6th of November, 2018, in a farm opposite Rahama Clinic Logo II Makurdi. The Police arrested 18-year-old Samuel Ochoechi, a non student linked to the crime.
The suspect during investigation, confessed to have conspired with three others namely; Bem Uper aka Movement, Viper and Chemical, all members of the Red Confraternity and killed the deceased who is said to be a member of the Black Confraternity over a missing Jean trouser.
While effort was ongoing to arrest his accomplices, the said Bem Uper aka Movement, a 400 level Theatre Arts undergraduate of same University, was hacked by rival cult group in retaliation.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 7, beside Kyabiz Filling Station opposite Benue University second gate. Effort is ongoing to arrest all those involved in both killings. They would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
Samuel’s friends have taken to Facebook to mourn his death.
Two suspected thieves have died while fleeing with their loot, this morning, in Rivers State.
It was gathered that the suspects had snatched the bag of lady and were escaping in their car, when they had an accident at Tombia Extension, GRA, Port Harcourt.
Unfortunately, a mentally ill man sitting beside a stairs, was also crushed to death after they lost control of the car.
Recently Tinsel star, Gbenro Ajibade caused stir online after flashing his nipple rings and left a rainbow emoji, which usually signifies the gay pride flag.

A pregnant woman violently attacked her ex-husband by throwing boiling water on him after he allegedly kidnapped and raped her in the southern Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
The 20-year-old woman who is yet to be named accused her former partner, also 20, of kidnapping her in a car with the help of her brother and another woman.
The ex-husband reportedly kept her captive, tortured her and repeatedly raped her, but she was able to fight him off by throwing boiling water on him.
Mail Online reported that the woman, who is four months pregnant, had been reported missing before police found her the following day in a house where she was allegedly being kept as a prisoner.
According to Brazilian authorities, the suspect confessed to having carried out the crimes and said the victim took advantage of a moment of carelessness to throw boiling water over him.
Images taken by police in the town of Eldorado shows the suspect face, neck, and upper chest seriously burnt in the counter-attack.

Popular Nollywood actor, Afeez Oyetoro, aka Saka, best known for his hilarious movie roles has said he has no plans to quit teaching anytime soon.
Unknown to many of his fans, Saka is a committed academic who teaches drama at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin in Lagos State.
Although he was aware that most people wished that he would give up one for the other, the actor, who only just finished his tenure as the Head of the Department of Theatre Arts at the institution, said, in an interview with Punch Nigeria, that he had no plan to quit teaching for a full-blown career in film acting.
He said;
“There is little or no difference between teaching and acting. I enjoy doing both. When you teach in the classroom, you are officially disseminating information.
It is almost the same thing as what an actor does on stage or in a film. An actor entertains and at the same time, passes a message to his audience.
“My work as a teacher of theatre arts enhances my practical methodology. When I go outside the classroom to act in a movie or on stage, I gain additional experience and bring back it to the classroom. Such experience enhances my teaching methodology.”
A herbalist, identified as Salaudeen Ibrahim and a female hospital attendant, Fatima Suleiman have been arrested for stealing a new born baby’s placenta in Kwara state.
According to TheNation, the state Police Commissioner, Kofowora Bolaji, said the attendant sold the babies placenta after the doctor gave it to her.
During an interview with newsmen, the herbalist Ibrahim said:
“I read Islamic Studies from the Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin. I graduated in 2016. A month ago, she came to me to ask if baby placenta can be used for ritual purposes and I answered in the affirmative.
And that was the last thing I discussed with her. And she left. Because she is an attendant in a hospital she told me that some people would leave their baby placentas for them to throw away.
Later, I had even forgotten and she came with one about five days ago. She dropped the placenta, after her departure something told me to call her to come and take it away, and that I would not do the ritual.
I called her to come and pick it away she refused to, not until she called me that the incident had been reported at the police station. Not to be implicated, I packed the placenta and threw into a nearby river. I thought, with that, I would get myself out of trouble but here am I.”
Police in Ethiopia have discovered a mass grave with 200 bodies near the border between the Somali and Oromia regions of the country.
This discovery comes after hundreds of people have been displaced over the past year by violence in the region.
Local media reported that the grave was found during a probe into alleged atrocities committed by the former president of Ethiopia’s Somali region, Abdi Mohammed who is awaiting trial over allegations he fueled ethnic clashes.
A notorious regional security force known as the Liyu police is accused of carrying out killings in the area between the Somali and Oromia regions and it reported directly to the regional president.
The police are trying to identify the 200 bodies found.
Mohammed was forced to resign in August and was arrested weeks later after violence broke out in the regional capital, Jijiga.
He is alleged to have overseen widespread rights abuses including torture, rape and killings during his 13-year rule.

Major Igbo traditional rulers have set December 28, 2018 to abolish the Osu caste system.
The Osu, in Igbo tradition, are usually discriminated against for no fault of their own, because they are said to be dedicated to deities. For years, people have been calling for an end to this barbaric practice.
While some regions in the South-East have succeeded in abolishing the Osu caste system, it is still alive and well in a lot of Igbo communities. But this is about to change.
According to a statement on Tuesday, there will be an event marking the abolition of the Osu caste system in Igbo land. The event will take place on December 28 at the Nri Palace in Anambra State.
The statement quoted the Regent of the ancient Nri Kingdom, Prince Ikenna Onyesoh, as saying it would be “spiritually suicidal” for anyone to continue with the obnoxious Osu practice after it had been abolished.
He said,
Come December 28, 2018, more stringent spiritual implications will be pronounced from Ikpo Eze-Nri against such devaluation of mankind, after an extensive spiritual abrogation exercise.
The statement also quoted the Eri traditional rulers as saying that they were set for the abolition.
The Chairman of Eri Dynasty Traditional Rulers Forum, Eze Nkeli Nzekwe Kelly, said, according to the statement.
The whole world needs to witness what is about to happen in our land on December 28, 2018 because such a thing has never happened before.
The last time in history anything close to this happened was 200 years ago. And mark my words, after these abolition and atonement exercises, anybody who continues to uphold these practices will have themselves to blame.
It’s time to end these once and for all and unite our people for the new era. It’s time for our estranged brothers and sisters who were sold into slavery to return home. Emile Ratelband, 69, argues that if transgender people are allowed to change sex, he should be allowed to change his date of birth because doctors said he has the body of a 45-year-old, UK Telegraph reports.
The entrepreneur and self-help guru is suing his local authority after they refused the amend his age on official documents.
Mr Ratelband’s case has now gone to a court in the city of Arnhmen in the eastern Dutch province of Gelderland.
The case has caused controversy in his homeland, with the Dutch edition of Vice, a news website, asking, “Is Emile Ratelband disturbed or accidentally extremely woke?”
Mr Ratelband was born on 11th March 1949, but says he feels at least 20 years younger and wants to change his birth date to 11th March 1969.
Mr Ratelband said:
“I have done a check-up and what does it show? My biological age is 45 years.
“When I’m 69, I am limited. If I’m 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work.
“When I’m on Tinder and it say I’m 69, I don’t get an answer. When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position.
“Transgenders can now have their gender changed on their birth certificate, and in the same spirit there should be room for an age change.”
A little boy suffered an extreme brutality from his dad, yesterday, in Okigwe, Imo State, for allegedly being too stubborn.
The incident occurred in Okigwe, Imo state after the boy, believed to be 7, left home and his father had no idea of his whereabouts. When he finally returned, his father flogged him so much that the marks were visible on his back. He then proceeded to cut his son’s ear with a razor.
When neighbours intervened, the father told them that the boy is too stubborn and doesn’t listen.
The boy was eventually taken to the hospital where his ear is being treated.
A family has been thrown into mourning after two sisters were kidnapped by gunmen, leaving one dead and the other unconscious.
Esther Franz Uchechi, a graduate of Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), was kidnapped along with her younger sister, Neche, a SS2 student. They were abducted in Imo state and taken to an undisclosed hideout in Anambra.
Neche was reportedly tortured to death, while Esther was found unconscious in a bush and rushed to the hospital by a priest.
Nigerian Singer, Davido, is of the opinion that musician, Mr Real (Legbegbe crooner), should bail incarcerated film maker, Seun Egbegbe after making money off his name.
Egbegbe has spent 20 months in prison over his inability to meet his bail conditions.
Davido said that if he were in Mr Real’s shoes, he would have bailed Seun Egbegbe.
He dropped the comment after Tunde Ednut threw shade at Mr Real for making money off another person’s crime, and name, not his own crime.
Tunde reposted a tweet by veteran actor, Ayo Shonaiya above his shade which read
“Seun Egbegbe has been on remand in jail for 20months because he couldn’t meet N5m bail condition. Meanwhile, a song about his (alleged) theft of iPhones has made well over N50m in Royalties. #Life”

Since then, he has been in jail, unable to meet his bail conditions.

Popular Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo Salami has just escaped been attacked by gunmen around Ojota, Lagos state.
Femi Adebayo narrated that two gunmen wielding AK47s, attacked his vehicle in broad day light, around 7UP heading towards Ojota, Lagos state.
He wasn’t in the vehicle at that time and his driver was able to escape from the scene. He wrote;
?? I thank God for his protection over me and mine. I know my job comes with its risk. Working as an Actor and Politician requires my regular movement.
Today, Just at the U turn coming from CMD Magodo around 7UP heading towards Ojota, my vehicle was accosted by men in a Toyota Corolla. They crossed my vehicle at the U Turn. 2 men alighted from the vehicle bearing AK47s. They tried to force the doors open. They kept hitting my car with the butt of their gun. In the process, they broke the door handle and left dents on different parts of my vehicle.
All these happened in full view of other vehicles and other individuals passing by. In the short time this happened, no one came to help. The guys were obviously not Policemen, they didn’t wear any Insigna of the force. They wore plain clothes and had extra guts to perform this act during the day at about 12 noon.
Their assumption will have been that I was in the vehicle but my driver was the only one enroute to my location. With swiftness, he was able to maneuver and speed off. I thank God for keeping him. We are all still shocked at this but grateful to God that no life was lost in the process. ?#FemiAdebayo
A Nigerian lady identified as, Modesta Chinomso was full of joy has she escaped being hit by a stray bullet in her room last night.
Modesta Chinomso took to her Facebook page to share the news, as she shared picture of the bullet. She wrote;
Was suppose to go out yesterday as usual but couldn’t because i was battling with high fever and cold so i decided to stay back rest while waiting for my result from the laboratory i went the previous day.
Lying down on the bed at 10:30am i heard a thunderous sound inside my room and the cotton hanger polled from it spot and fell my me, i quickly got up and behold a bullet lying next to me..
That kept me wondering what could have happened, so i began to trash the mysterious bullet root into the room, it pieced through the roof down to the celling, hit the iron hanger and lost it strength on the bed …….
Popular Nigerian singer, Tekno Miles, has asked fans to pray for him as he is currently away receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
Apparently Tekno has been in the background because of his health and has been unable to chase up with work. In a note posted on Instagram, Tekno gave reasons why he has been away and unable to turn up at shows he was booked for.
Tekno disclosed he has been sick and has sought treatment and now steadily recovering. The ‘Choko’ crooner asked fans to say a prayer for his recovery.
In his statement, Tekno said;
‘I’ve been away and on treatment. Pls, don’t be upset, that I can’t make it to shows I’ve been booked for. I’m taking time out fully recover and hopefully get back to doing what I love most soonest.
