Nigerian Man Wakes Up To Meet Parts Of His Car Missing (Photos)

A Twitter user identified as @makemetola, has taken to the platform, to reveal how he fell victim of petty thieves recently, when he parked his car at a spot all night, only to wake up to several parts of the vehicle missing.

The frustrated robbers couldn’t take the car, but made away with parts of it in clear hope to sell it to customers looking to fix their cars.

The victim revealed that he heard some robbers were caught by the police with car parts in Surulere, and he expressed joy that they might have been the ones who made away with his tyres, side mirrors and several other parts of his SUV.

He shared photos of what is left of the car and wrote: “Heard that some robbers were caught in Surulere by the Nigerian Police and car parts were found with them.

“My Toyota Highlander 2003 was burgled and the following car parts were stolen brain box, side mirror (both), control buttons & panels, 2 side linings, carbatt et.”

Grandmother charged with murder after baby was found stabbed and placed in hot oven

A grandmother has been arrested after her granddaughter was stabbed and placed into a hot oven.

Carolyn Jones, 48, is charged with first-degree murder for the death of her granddaughter in Shaw, Miss., Bolivar County Sheriff Kelvin Williams confirmed to NBC News.

The victim, 20-month-old Royalty Marie Floyd, was found by a relative who then contacted the Shaw Police Department. Upon arriving at the scene, the police contacted the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office for assistance.

Royalty was living with her grandmother before her death. It is unclear where the girl’s parents were at the time.

Jones had a court appearance Tuesday evening and was given a $500,000 bond.

When asked why Jones might have possibly killed her granddaughter, Williams told reporters:

We’re trying to figure that out ourselves. We have no idea at this point. Again, we might get some closure once we sit down with the investigator and once they present that to a judge for official charges.

A goat was given to each student that came first in their respective classes from primary one to six. The move is an initiative of the Ora Goat Project.

According to those behind it, the essence of the project is to inculcate the habit of caring in the children and also to assist them in paying their school fees through the proceeds from the goats once they start reproducing.

The body of a newborn baby believed to have been dumped by the mother, was found in a well in the northern part of Nigeria.

The baby’s body was found floating in the well by a neighbour who then raised alarm. Residents gathered around the well and fetched the baby out using a fetching bucket.

The baby’s mother is still unknown but efforts are being made to trace her.

A mother who says she received the heart of a dead soldier has developed strange cravings for beer and now experiences some unusual things.

Sheron Williamson’s daughter watched her “die” in hospital when her heart stopped and her monitor flatlined. But medics brought her back. However, they warned that she would die within two weeks if she doesn’t get a new heart.

Four days later, she received one, believed to have been from a soldier who died from injuries sustained in the Iraq War.

When Ms Williamson, 50, who now lives in Solihull, awoke from the operation, she started to experience strange, unexplained symptoms. The 50-year-old believes the strange symptoms were down to “wearing somebody else’s heart”.

She told the Sunday Mercury:

When I woke up, there were wires all coming out of me – and all I could smell was wet woolly socks.

Apparently. I was screaming that I wanted a beer. It’s all I kept saying.

Eventually, a member of my family was able to bring me a can of beer into the ward, and I just spat it out.

Who knows, but perhaps it was because I was wearing a soldier’s heart that I was getting his cravings.

All I could smell was those socks for about a year, but thankfully it’s faded now.

Lady takes her father to court for refusing to marry her off to her fiance

A 20-year-old lady, Amina Hassan, has filed a lawsuit against her father, Adamu Hassan, before a Sharia Court at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over his refusal to allow her marry to her fiance.

In the court papers filed by her lawyer, Ado Ali, Amina who resides with her grandmother on Bashama Road, Tudun Wada, Kaduna, argued that she is old enough to decide whom she wants to spend the rest of her life with and that she expects her father to respect her choice of a suitor.

She asked the court to compel her father to join her in marriage and that if her father would not, the court should marry her off to the man she loves.

According to her lawyer, he had made attempts to convince the father to soften his stand, to no avail. According to the counsel, the father is withholding his blessing because the suitor has no regard for him.

In his submission, the presiding judge, Malam Dahiru Lawal, noted that even though the father had the right to assess his daughter’s suitors, he has no right to force anyone on her.

He asked that her father be presented in court on October 29th.

A Twitter user, has called out feminists after a recent incident she experienced in Abuja.

According to her, her car got stuck in a gutter and even after turning on her panic light for help, no female driver stopped to help. She went on to thank the men who stopped to help her out in the rain, before her mechanic arrived.

Parents of aide worker Hauwa Liman refuse to believe she is dead (Video)

The immediate family of aide worker, Hauwa Liman, who was killed by Boko Haram members on Monday October 15th, are currently in shock over her death and have refused to accept the sad news that she is dead and will never be seen by them again.

Hauwa who works with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), was kidnapped alongside two of her colleagues by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in March. Herself and one of her colleague, Saifura Ahmed, have been killed by the sect members.

Reacting to her demise, her father, Mohammed Liman in an interview with Channels TV, expressed shock at the demise of his daughter.

“We feel so bad and we are in doubt if she is dead or alive because we didn’t expect her to be killed so suddenly. In fact, we are in doubt because, unless we see her corpse or any evidence that shows she is dead, we still believe that she is living. She is living,” her father insisted with her mom and other women in the home breaking down in tears intermittently

Struggling to keep his emotions in check, Liman appealed to the Federal government to ensure that the sect members return her corpse to them for proper burial.

“I appeal to the insurgents to release her because she is not a warring party. She is a humanitarian worker. She treats the young and the women and she is so helpful, even to them; not only to the whole society – even to them. We appeal to the government, if she was dead at all, we want the corpse to be brought and we bury her. That will give us peace of mind. Otherwise, we will never forget such an incident in our lives” her dad pleaded.

Hauwa’s mother, Iyakachi, says she is yet to come to terms that her child had died.

“Up to this moment my mind has not told me that my daughter is dead. Because if you see what happened, these people want money. Now after Buhari agreed that he’d give the money, why is the gap between when he gave his consent and when this incidence happened so close? If a person wants money and they agreed to give him the money is he supposed to do this? Another thing is they (Hauwa and her colleagues) are humanitarian workers and are not supposed to be killed, and they are women. Why were they killed? And the ICRC had already pleaded with them to spare their staff and they even rendered them help as humanitarian workers. If this truly happened then it’s wrong. And, me, I strongly believe, that my daughter is not dead.” she said amidst tears

Based on her belief about her daughter’s fate, she also called on the government to act.

“The government should investigate; if this girl is still alive, they should just bring her back. I don’t need anything except my child. If they can try and confirm that my daughter is well and alive, they should bring her back; that’s all,” she said.

A young boy identified as Ogbunala Emeka, has gracefully been rescued alive, almost 24 hours after falling inside a borehole pit said to be about 150ft deep in Imo State.

The 3 years old boy had gone for bible study at the Saint Paul Anglican Church, Ezeoke Nsu Street, Owerri, on Monday, when he fell inside the pit within the church premises.

Nollywood actor, Blossom Chukwu’s wife, Maureen, has taken to her Instagram page to share mortifying photos of how a domestic accident caused her to be bedridden and did heavy damage to her body.

According to her story, which she was skeptical to share at first, she accidentally poured steaming hot water on her body and the result of that can be seen in the photos she shared.

She also revealed how her actor husband, Blossom Chukwujekwu was supportive all through the times she was in excruciating pains.

Senator Adeleke Files Petition, Asks Osun Election Tribunal To Declare Him Governor

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has filed a petition at the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Osogbo to challenge the victory of the governor-elect, Gboyega Oyetola.

According to PUNCH, the petitioner and his party, the PDP, are praying the tribunal headed by Justice T.A. Igoche, to nullify the victory of the governor-elect and declare him the winner of the poll because he polled the highest number of lawful votes cast and met other requirements of the law.

The deputy governorship candidate of the PDP, Albert Adeogun; and the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Soji Adagunodo, led counsels who filed the petition at the tribunal registry.

Adagunodo, who addressed journalists after the filing of the petition, said the party and the first petitioner were optimistic of victory.

Father fakes his son’s death with a log of wood inside coffin (Photos)

A 30-year-old father, identified as Kafeero aka Ivan K, took residents of Lusaka, Zambia by surprise after he faked his son’s death with a log of wood and then fleeing after he was busted.

The lie was uncovered after residents gathered to mourn his son, Junior which was followed by a vigil – however after the mourners insisted on seeing the boy’s corpse to pay their last respect, they only saw a log of wood in the casket.

Though no one knows why Kafeero will fake his son’s death, however the police has long arrested the funeral service team for questioning as it was gathered that the boy’s father escaped in his car and is still at large.

A John Bosco Mulyowa on Facebook who shared the story, wrote,

Drama ensued at Lusaaka, Kalisiizo Kyotera District after a one Kafeero, 30, Commonly known as Ivan K, announced the death of his ‘son’ Junior.

As is the norm, residents gathered at the home of Kafeero to mourn the passing of his ‘son,’ which was followed by a vigil. However, all hell broke loose in the night when mourners demanded to view the body of the deceased, and pay their last respect.

Police then engaged in running battles with the mourners when they attempted mob justice on Kafeero after they were tipped off that the whole funeral was a hoax.

The mourners overpowered the funeral managers and on opening the coffin, they only found a log.

In the melee that ensued, Kafeero managed to escape in his car and is still at large. Police that had deployed at the scene later arrested the funeral service team for further questioning

Madagascar Qualify For Africa Cup Of Nations For First Time

Madagascar triumphed 1-0 at home against Group A rivals Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament for the first time.

Thailand-based midfielder Njiva Rakotoharimalala scored the only goal four minutes before half-time on the huge Indian Ocean island.

The victory lifted the ‘Barea’ (prized cattle) to 10 points from four games and beyond the reach of Equatorial Guinea and Sudan in a four team mini-league from which the top two qualify.

It was the second 1-0 victory for the Malagasy over the Equatoguineans within four days after captain Faneva Ima Andriatsima scored the winner in the reverse fixture last Saturday.

Madagascar are the first country apart from hosts Cameroon to secure a place at the biennial African football showcase, with the 2019 edition set for June 15 to July 13.

They qualified despite having to play a preliminary tie, won 4-2 on aggregate against Sao Tome e Principe, and being seeded fourth behind Senegal, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan.

Senegal will also secure a place among the 24 finalists if they defeat pointless Sudan in Khartoum later Tuesday.

Qualification for the Malagasy came after 18 failed attempts since 1970, with French coach Nicolas Dupuis drawing players from Europe, Asia and Africa.

The standard starting side includes four footballers based in France, one each in Algeria, Belgium, Egypt, Reunion, Saudi Arabia and Thailand, and one local.

Previously unknown in Africa, Dupuis took charge in March 2017 and has transformed Madagascar from traditional whipping boys to a team that held Senegal last month.

Nigerian student beaten to death by Kenyan police

A Nigerian student who was schooling in Kenya was allegedly beaten to death by Kenyan police – Bamiyo Ashade, popularly known as Bamo, was brutalized yesterday Oct 15th at his house in Four ways estate, Kiambu.

Bamo, a student of United States International University, USIU, was in Kenya legally and had his complete papers. Yet the police officers allegedly tried to extort him and when he didn’t co-operate, they forced him into a police van and battered him until he was close to death.

He was then rushed to a hospital where he died hours later.

Friends have taken to Facebook to condemn the police brutality directed towards Nigerians in the diaspora. They have also called for justice for Bamo.
