Bill Cosby is expected to spend the next three to 10 years of his life in a new $400million Pennsylvania state prison while serving out his sentence for drugging and molesting a woman more than a decade ago.
The comedian, 81, was sentenced on Tuesday after his April conviction for having drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand, a former Temple University women’s basketball administrator, in 2004.
Cosby is expected to serve out his sentence at SCI Phoenix in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. The prison is brand new, and said to be state of the art.
SCI Phoenix is a maximum security, 3,830-bed, handicap-accessible, state-of-the-art prison which began operating earlier this year. The $400million prison is staffed by 1,200 full-time employees and features 164 acreage inside its double ring of razor wire fences and a 1.5mile perimeter.
The cells have bunk beds and storage lockers, as well as a stainless steel toilet and sink combo and a small desk and stool. Unlike older prisons, SCI Phoenix’s manual key locks have been replaced with electronic cell doors monitored from a central location.

An 83 year old Malawian man, Reubenson Chinthuli, on Wednesday, pleaded with the Thyolo Third Grade Magistrate Court to divorce his 26 year old wife over domestic violence, Nyasatimes reports.
Chinthuli told the court that Zione Kwatani, whom he wedded a year ago, has been assaulting him in different occasions.
“This woman denies me food. She usually comes late at night without proper explanation. At times when she comes during such late hours, she beats and threatens to kill me with a knife.
On one occasion, she pierced a knife on my hand. Please your worship, save me from this wicked woman. She will kill me,” pleaded Chinthuli.
However, Kwatani denied the claims saying her love for her husband was genuine and that she never for once dreamt of any divorce.
“This is my husband and the divorce won’t happen. He should just amend his ways because he is also greedy,” said Kwatani. Judgment has been fixed for today

In readiness for Saturday’s direct primary election, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s team has approved specialised training for one thousand, nine hundred and sixty personnel that will serve as agents in all the 245 wards in the constitutionally recognised 20 Local government areas where the primary election is expected to take place.
This development comes on the heels of the inauguration of the Ambode Campaign Organisation coordinators and offices in the three senatorial districts in the state, with functional outposts across the 20 local governments.
In a press release on Thursday from the Directorate of Media and Strategy of ACO, the agents have been selected and trained “to be the eyes and ears of Governor Ambode as the candidate of choice in the primary election.”
The statement added that while being vigilant and uncompromising, the agents have been tutored to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner as loyal members of the All Progressives Congress who want the best for the party and for democracy by ensuring that the best candidate emerges on a level playing ground.”
Governor Ambode had on Wednesday reiterated his intention to participate in Saturday’s primary election in line with the preference of the party and the influential Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).
The governor’s position has sent jubilation and encouragement to the teeming supporters of the governor who believe that Governor Ambode deserves a second term in office in order to consolidate on his numerous landmark socio-infrastructural achievements in the past three and half years.
In his declaration on Wednesday, Ambode had stated his intention to seek re-election with a “grateful heart, open arms and a pledge to open and deeper attention to the concerns of this one, big family.”
He also stated that a return of the party’s ticket to him will “guarantee the stability of the state’s growing economy; ensure continuation of the growth and development it has witnessed over time and ensure that the opposition does not take root in Lagos State.”

The founder and leader of the International Godsway Ministries, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has said that he has had a rare privilege of personally knowing ‘Adam and Eve’, who are believed to be the first human beings created by God.
According to him, he got to know Adam and Eve after he was introduced to them by God in the spiritual realms.
Speaking in an interview on a local TV station, the controversial preacher also said he was introduced to Moses and Abraham by Jesus.
“The Adam and Eve that God created who have died a long time ago, I saw them. I know Adam and Eve. Jesus Christ took me to the spiritual realms to show me Adam, Eve, Abraham and even Moses. I know…” he insisted when the interviewer probed further.
‘Serial offender Obinim’
This isn’t the first time questions have been raised about Obinim’s pronouncements.
The eccentric preacher has often been called out for his unconventional methods.
In 2016, a viral video on social media which appeared to have been recorded from a TV broadcast, showed Daniel Obinim, beating two young members of his church repeatedly with a belt, while hurling insults at them in front of his congregation.
The disturbing video provoked widespread criticism of the controversial preacher, and he was eventually sued by the state for assaulting the children. His excuse was that the children were under his care but had engaged in an immoral act leading to the girl getting pregnant and aborting same.
Obinim in the past was also seen stomping the stomach of what looked like a pregnant woman continuously in a deliverance service.

A 16-year old boy who was caught inserting his finger into a 2-year old girl’s private part said that he did not mean to abuse the victim but wanted to see how a female organ looks like having heard so much about it.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oremeje Street, Itire, Lagos where they reside.
He reportedly told the police that he had heard so much about the female organ and decided to check it out in order to know why men look for women all the time.
However, his action has landed him in prison after he was handed over to the police for committing rape.
The police arrested the boy (name withheld) for his ugly conduct and charged him to court after he was caught. He was said to have removed the victim’s pant and inserted his finger into it before he was caught and handed over to the police at the Gender Section of the Command, Lagos.
During interrogation, he explained that he did not penetrate the 2-year old but was only curious; only wanted to see and not abuse her. The police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates court for rape.
The prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, informed the court that the defendant and the victim were minors and wanted the court to used its discretion on the matter.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered him to be remanded in the Remand Home and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.
A 35-year-old employee of Arab Construction Company, Benjamin Nnabugo, yesterday told the court that he slept with a 10-year-old girl (name withheld) because she begged and forced herself on him. Nnabugo, who is standing trial before an Ikeja Special Offences Court, Lagos, denied the allegations of defilement and sexual assault levelled against him by the police.
The construction worker, in a police confessional statement, said that it was actually the little girl who initiated the sex while he was smoking weed (Indian hemp) inside her mother’s shop at Ilaje bus top, Owode, Ikorodu on August 29, 2012.
He said: “I went to buy Indian hemp from a woman’s shop, popularly known as Iya Orobo, during my break time from the company where I worked. “So when I got the weed, I took it to one of her empty shops to smoke. After smoking the weed, I laid down on the floor to rest but then the little girl (Iya Orobo’s daughter) now came into the shop and closed the door.
“She then came straight to where I was, pulled down my trousers, brought out my joystick and inserted it into her vagina and started having sex with me while I still lay on the floor. “It was while I was having sex with her that her mother peeped through an opening in the shop and saw us in the act.
The woman immediately opened the door and called the girl by her pet name, Orobo, and said ‘so you have spoiled like this’.
“The girl immediately jumped off my body and ran away. I then called the woman to come so I could explain and apologise for what I did but she refused to hear me out.
“It was the first time I had sex with Orobo (the victim) and I know it’s not good but I didn’t release my sperm on her body. It was only a little part of my joystick that entered her vagina. The whole of my joystick couldn’t enter because it was bigger than her vagina.”
Meanwhile, during the proceeding, a prosecution witness, Mrs. Yetunde Adewale, told the court that she saw Nnabugo inside the shop with the child after he had sex with her. Adewale, while being led in evidence by the prosecuting counsel, Ms. M. I. Oshodi, said that she caught Nnabugo pants down and the little girl had sperm spilled all over her body.
The witness, who is a fashion designer, said, “I was so shocked when I saw the little girl inside the shop with sperm all over her body while Nnabugo was still trying to wear his trousers. I quickly called her mother, who is also my neighbour, to come and see what this man had done to her child”.
Justice S. Solebo thereafter adjourned the matter till October 29 for continuation of trial.

Stephen Bellissimo, 100, has been going to his local Chick-fil-A restaurant for over 15 years and they decided to do something special for him during his most recent visit.
According to People, the restaurant threw him a birthday bash for his 100th birthday and gifted him with free Chick-fil-A for LIFE being a loyal customer.
“Oh, I think this is just one great surprise for me. I didn’t expect anything like this,” he told Fox 13. “That is the best gift I could ever receive! Thank you very much!”
“He makes everyone here feel loved and welcomed,” Chick-fil-A marketing director Brittani Craft.

An 18-year-old boy has gone missing after his mother sent him to an ATM point to withdraw cash.
The story was shared by one Newton Samson on Twitter, who is now seeking for help in locating the missing boy.
According to Newton, the missing boy’s name is Steven and is the only child of his friend who is a single mother. Steven disappeared when his mother sent him to withdraw some money from the ATM.
Newton pleaded with his followers to help in reaching out if they locate the boy.

A supposed ‘mad man’ was caught on Wednesday with suspicious items that has led to the belief that he just might be a ritualist.
The said man was caught in Elele Alimi in Emohua LGA of Rivers state – he was in possession of items such as a live snake, a car key, a pack of condom, sweets, voters card, affidavit, a wallet with #3,500 cash, and more.
He was nabbed by a local vigilante group led by Commander, Mr Chidi Agi.
The man, whose identification card has the name Hu-El Mustapha Al-Musta, was said to have been identified as Mr Obinna by a woman who attended community secondary school with him in the same Elele Alimini years back.
Further investigation revealed that he packed his car at Ahoada, a community sharing boundary with Elele Alimini, before disguising as a mad man to get into the community.

A Nigerian man, Augustus Akpan, 43, who allegedly threatened former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has been arrested.
The Force Spokesman, DCP Jimoh Moshood, disclosed this while addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said that the suspect is from Edemaya village in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Moshood said that one Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge cell phone and a SIM card used by the suspect to send the threat messages to Atiku were recovered from the suspects.
He stated that the suspect sent a text message which reads,
“Turaki Atiku, we are watching you and your family, we ask you right now to withdraw from the race for Presidency, we will kill, rape your wife and daughters.
“That your ambitious and black daughter, Maryam, worked at CBN and left because we were going to mess her up.”
“We will molest, rape, deform her and kill her. Your daughter Fatimah the former Commissioner of Health in Adamawa State, we have a lot of information about her,” he said.
“Let Buhari run against your PDP members. We know that you are bigger than all those candidates in PDP. That is why we need you to step down.
“We will blow your plane off from the sky and we will poison you and your family. Atiku Abubakar, take our words for granted and watch what will happen to your family before you.
“You are going to see what we will do to you and your family. We know where and where your children travel to. We have watched your daughter who is a strong supporter of her father (your daughter Maryam) at number 5, Buzi close and number 5, Lake Maracaibo close.
“Tell your dad to step down. He should forget about the Presidency. If he refuses, we will blow up his plane the Gulf Stream from the sky and also rape you and kill of his daughters,” he said.
The spokesman said that the suspect was arrested at the toll-gate along Lagos-Ibadan express way, while on the run to escape arrest.
“During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and admitted that he resorted to the threat and intimidation when all efforts to extort money from the former vice president were unsuccessful,” Moshood said.
He said that the suspect also admitted that he was a professional fraudster and not working for any political party.
He said that his mention that ‘Let Buhari run against your PDP members’ in his threat message to the former vice president was merely to divert attention.
Moshood said the recovered phone was robbed from a lady (name withheld) who identified him as the person that robbed her few months back.
“Investigation is being concluded and the suspect will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation,” he said.

A while ago, Nollywood actress, Irene who sat for an interview with Lagos Jump Radio, recounted her mortifying experience with ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Alex.
According to Irene, she met Ifu Ennada and Alex recently and while Ifu was friendly, Alex was somewhat hostile towards her and because of this, she had to refrain herself from asking the model for a photo.
About a month ago, one Ibere Ugochukwu became an internet sensation for his act of kindness witnessed by someone in traffic in Lagos, who shared it online.
Though being a hustler on the streets of Lagos, Ibere decided to render help to some prisoners – the prisoners were being transported in a Nigerian Prison Force van heading to Ikoyi Prison but were stuck in traffic.
As usual, the prisoners stretched out their hands through the tiny holes by the sides of the van and the Gala seller’s next action was what took everyone by surprise.
Ibere took the Gala he was selling and began distributing it to the prisoners for free. When the van began moving, he dropped his basket by the side of the road, grabbed a handful of Gala and ran after them to make sure everyone gets a share.
Recently, the Humans of New York, an online platform known for sharing inspiring posts, caught up with him and he shared his own story. He revealed that he was once a prisoner who was sent to prison by a wicked boss.

“A few years ago I worked as an apprentice in a cosmetics shop. I was supposed to receive a payment at the end of my term. But I was warned by the other employees that the owner would find a reason not to pay me. He’d always invent reasons to fire his boys right before their payment. So I made the decision to quit. But when I told him, he dragged me to the police. He told them lies about me. He told them I’d stolen so much money. And they tortured me. They tied my hands and legs and they hung me from the ceiling. They beat me. I went deaf from all the slaps.
For ten days I was given no food. My fellow prisoners would share little bits of their meals when they were finished. But some days I saw nothing. Honestly I was about to die. And I started to pray to God. And on the tenth day, the guards decided that it would cause too much trouble to let me die. They told my employer: After what we did to him, he must be innocent. Because he’d have confessed if he was guilty.
They released me into the world like a madman. And I’ve carried the memory ever since. I promised myself that if I ever found someone in a similar situation, I would help. So when I learned that prisoners pass down this road, I chose to hawk in this location. I waited until I finally saw the truck, and I pushed all my food through the bars. My fellow vendors couldn’t believe it. They asked me who would pay me for the food. I told them: ‘I didn’t do it for any man. I did it because of what God did for me. Ibere hopes to enter the seminary one day. He’s selling food to save money for this goal, as well as to support his family back in the village. In the meantime he wants to open his own shop selling foodstuffs. Alongside the donations from inspired Nigerians who heard his story, $3000 was given to him from the HONY Patreon.”
