Nollywood Actor, Adeniyi Johnson, mostly known for his roles in Yoruba movies is one of the most versatile Actors in the Nigerian movie industry.

Adeniyi Johnson who told City People Magazine that he hates being called a Yoruba actor, and also talked about being a Tinsel cast.

Here are excerpts from the interview Adeniyi Johnson granted:

For how long has Adeniyi Johnson been acting?

Over 15 years. I started from church drama and I moved to TV dramas, Soap operas, Tinsel then I delved into Yoruba films. But now, I am fully more into movies. I do more of movies now. Soap is more of a terrestial thing. Only people who watch terrestial TV get to watch it, except now that some of them are beginning to have their TV Stations on cable. I believe I should spread my tantacles. Movies are more exportable. They send movies abroad. I still do both, but more of movies now, English and Yoruba films. I want people to see what I can do.

What was your experience like in Tinsel?

It was great. After a few attempts we started getting lines. We acted as props. We just sat down and watched people talk and nod. At some point, they started giving us lines. But I felt I deserved more. I wanted more. They didn’t see me as one of the major actors so why should I stay on. I then made the move to do Yoruba movies. As at then I had done my 1st Yoruba film.

The title is Motaka Osi danu by Lekan Ayinde. He saw me at a soap opera location. My dad actually called, so I spoke Yoruba and he said so you can speak Yoruba? He didn’t know I was a Yoruba guy. I told him I am a royal guy. I am from Ondo State

Alleged husband killer, Maryam Sanda welcomes baby months after she allegedly killed her husband

Maryam Sanda, who was charged with the murder of her husband in Abuja last November, has reportedly given birth to a baby boy.

The Abuja-based woman allegedly stabbed her husband, Bilyamin Bello, in the chest, neck and genital area, over alleged infidelity. He died from his injuries.

Maryam, who was nursing a daughter she had with Bilyamin at the time, was also pregnant with a son.

She was taken into custody after the death of Bilyamin but was granted bail in March 2018 after the court received medical reports confirming her pregnancy and illness.

Maryam, who is the daughter of Maimuna Aliyu, the former Executive Director of Aso Savings and Loans Limited, has now welcomed the son, according to Sahara Reporters, and a low-key naming ceremony will hold on Tuesday August 14, 2018.

Woman robbed and raped in Lekki by her Facebook lover and friends

A woman has been rescued after she was robbed and gang-raped off the road in Lekki, Lagos when she was out on a date with a Facebook friend. The suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

Lagos State police spokesman, CSP Chike Oti, revealed how the woman (names withheld) connected with the Facebook friend in July 2018.

The Facebook friend, who was described by the police as a rapist and armed robber was identified as one Richard Samuel Gbenga.

Oti said: “They interacted a couple of times, getting to know each other. However, on August 4, 2018, the said Richard Samuel Gbenga invited the young woman for a dinner and she accepted. She further told him where they would meet before taking off for the dinner.

“The suspect arrived at the agreed take-off point in a Toyota Camry saloon car registration number JJJ 406 DL driven by one Ayo Salau, a member of his robbery gang.

“On their way to Lekki, they pulled over at a lonely spot. Armed with cutlasses, they ordered her to take off clothes or be killed. Seeing she was Unclad, they took turns to rape her after which they robbed her of her wristwatch and cash.

“The moment the hoodlums left, the victim raised the alarm and gave a description of their car. Police operatives attached to Maroko Division were alerted and immediately they laid an ambush for the fleeing criminals.

“As soon as the police operatives stopped their vehicle, the criminals took to their heels. The officers chased them and arrested Ayo Salau Yusuf while his partner in crime, Richard Samuel Gbenga, escaped.

“The suspect had since been identified by the victim and he confessed to having committed the crime. He added that his fleeing partner recruited him for the job.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal, cautions the youths especially young women to beware of people who may use the social media to take advantage of them. He assures that the long arm of the law will surely catch up with the fleeing suspect.”

Landlord installs secret cameras in tenants’ rooms; makes 183 sex videos

A 59-year-old perverted landlord who planted hidden cameras in his tenant’s rooms so he could ogle them while they were naked and having sex, was described as ‘sad’ by a judge.

Paul Dunster reportedly recorded 183 videos of unsuspecting women and their guests over a 10-year period – he was caught out by a police investigation following his prolific secret recordings, Portsmouth Crown Court heard.

When police turned up at his address, they found two memory cards which had incriminating evidence of his secret recording after he had set up videos in the bedroom and bathroom.

Dunster was given a £5,000 fine, 100 hours of unpaid work, 20 rehabilitation days, and has to pay £500 costs.

Ghanaian Actress, Joselyn Dumas has denied ever stating that she once dated recently married, John Dumelo.

Last week, news went round that the curvy Actress confirmed past rumours that she was involved in a romantic relationship with the Actor.

This was due to an interview she granted Abeiku Santana on his ‘ATUU’ show.

Reacting to the reports, Joselyn released a statement with claims that the interview was doctored to say what the interviewers wanted the public to know.

In the interview, Joselyn Dumas stated that she never dated John and that she only grew fond of him after they featured in about 3 movies back to back. That close relationship made them become very good friends.

“I never dated John Dumelo. I didn’t have a crush on John Dumelo. However, I got fond of him. He became my very good friend. We were friends, he liked me and I also liked him and that was it,” she said in response to Abeiku’s question if she ever dated John.

Joselyn Dumas further stated that the falsehood portrayed by those who interviewed her is one of the reasons why herself and some of her colleagues don’t grant interviews anymore because of the fear of being misrepresented falsely.

The ‘Queen of Soul’, Aretha Franklin is gravely ill and is reportedly saying her last goodbyes to loved ones at her home in Detroit after an eight-year battle with cancer.

She is considered one of the greatest voices ever, and has a dazzling music career which includes classic songs like (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman and I Say A Little Prayer.

The mum-of-four who Rolling Stone magazine named the greatest singer of all time, is surrounded by loved ones in the town where she was born.

Reports say her family has asked for “prayers and privacy” for the singing legend.

Aretha Franklin who last performed in November 2017 for the Elton John’s AIDs Foundation concert in New York, battled exhaustion and dehydration to thrill crowds.

The music icon started singing in Baptist church as a little girl, where her father was minister. Her powerful voice and soulful tone singled her out as something special.

She was just 12 years old when she first fell pregnant with son Clarence, and then again aged 14, with son Edward.

The children’s father was school friend Donald Burk. She launched a secular music career aged 18, but it was in 1967 when she signed with Atlantic Records that her star began to soar.

The Nigerian Police has arrested a man who beat up his wife to a pulp because she had not cooked for him by the time he got home.

The man Naftali Luzuli pounced on his wife and beat her up almost to death because she hadn’t used the Sh500 he supposedly left for her to buy food.

The victim, identified as Valerie, is currently admitted at Moi Referral Hospital.

Pictures of the victim, which have been circulating on social media, shows her with a badly swollen face.

It is after the photo went viral that police responded and arrested the culprit who will be arraigned in court on Monday.

Thief breaks his skull and dies while trying to escape arrest in Lagos; his PVC retrieved

A suspected thief identified as Daniel Ekwerekwu, an indigene of Aguleri, Anambra state, has lost his life after breaking his skull during a fall while trying to escape arrest, this morning, in Lagos.

He had gone to Okungade street, Mende-Maryland, Ikeja, to vandalize a car and steal its parts – however, at about 6:04a.m, the owner of the car being vandalised woke up to prepare for church service only to see Ekwerekwu vandalizing his car.

He raised alarm which attracted a police patrol team as well as neighbours. They chased after the suspect, who ran into a building.

He tried to scale the fence but unfortunately for him, his hands slipped off the wall and he landed on a cemented floor, breaking his skull as a result.

When the police searched his trousers pocket, they recovered a voter’s card bearing his name and picture. He was taken to Mainland Hospital, Yaba where he was confirmed dead. The body was thereafter deposited at the hospital’s morgue.

So a Nigerian guy was about to fall victim of extortion from his girlfriend but the gentleman narrated how a N200 pregnancy test kit saved him.

His girlfriend had played the “I’m pregnant” card on him and being a gentleman, he suggested that she kept the baby and promised that he would stand by her throughout the period.

But his girlfriend insisted that she’d rather terminate the pregnancy than keep it, so he should provide money for the operation – this was what raised the eyebrows of the guy, he shared how he went ahead to carry out a pregnancy test by himself and the result showed negative.

Emma Nyra who was sometime ago reported pregnant and has been in France with her boyfriend has welcomed a set of twins.

The songstress who shared news of her baby’s arrival on Instagram, disclosed that she is so excited to begin the journey of motherhood.

Emma Nyra further revealed that last year, she was over booked and over worked herself tirelessly just to be able to accomplish one of her biggest goals of moving into her dream home in Lagos, not knowing God had bigger plans for her.

Emm Nyra wrote:

I have never been so inspired and full of love as I am today. With style and full force, you’ve both entered this world and forever impacted my destiny.

My career has been my top priority for the past ten years of my life, so you can imagine that I was surprised and shocked for what God had in store for me!

Last year I over booked and over worked myself tirelessly just to be able to accomplish one of my biggest goals which was to move into my dream home in Lagos!

I was in a place in my life where I couldn’t imagine being more content!

My parents were extremely proud of all of my accomplishments and my personal life was full of love and friends that encouraged me, since we all have similar goals and dreams.

Then I received a piece of information that would change my life forever! God had much bigger plans for me! I was blessed with the news that I was pregnant with twins.

During the course of the next 9 months, I made a conscious decision to abstain from public outings and to keep away from major social media posts so that I could fully concentrate on my health and my personal life.

On August 11, 2018 in the early morning of 2 am, after 36 hours of labor, I gave birth to two beautiful children Alexandría and Alexander.

The babies and I are doing very well by Gods’ Grace! I want to thank every single person who supported me and sent me well wishes, advice, and encouragement.

I’m so excited to begin this journey of motherhood and I deeply encourage all women, especially mothers of multiples, to feel free to share your experiences and advice with me!

A Nigerian man identified as Ikenna Modestus has been captured on camera as he was brutally attacked and battered by angry mobs for allegedly sleeping with his benefactor’s girlfriend in Kenya.

The video clip has been trailed with mixed reactions and criticisms from Nigerians on social media as many people blasted the benefactor who served the young man jungle justice, while others blamed him for ‘eating his master’s food.’

Media personality Stephanie Coker and her husband, Olumide Adenirokun are celebrating their first wedding anniversary today. They were joined together as husband and wife a year ago in Mykonos, Greece.

The couple used the occasion to grace their social media to share sweet messages of love.

Joke Silva reveals she was adopted by the ‘Silva Family’

Veteran Actress, Joke SIlva was featured on a recent edition of LOVEHAVEN magazine, and she spoke on her adoption and how it came to her knowledge that she was adopted.

The 56-year-old veteran, was adopted by the late Chief E.A Silva, a reputable lawyer, the then Babajiro of Lagos and his wife late Dr Abimbola Silva a pioneering female doctor, who died in July 2015.

Mrs Joke Silva revealed this recently at the first Annual Conference of Heritage Adoption Support and Advocacy Group (HASAAG).

Panelists at the conference which held in Lagos included a representative from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Mr. Wilfred Mamah, Mrs. Bridget Ituseli, a counsellor, public speaker, marriage facilitator, teacher and Writer Mrs.Bami Obasanya, who is the Chief Welfare Officer, Child Adoption and Fostering Unit of the Ministry of Youth and Social Welfare, Lagos State, Mr. Oluwatoyin Kotun.

I remembered going out with my cousin and we met a big cousin She introduced me as ‘my cousin’s daughter and this is Dr Silva’s daughter.’ Then, the older cousin was like, ‘Dr. Silva ke? Se Doctor Silva bimo ni? (meaning does Dr. Silva have a child?) . Did Dr Silva ever has a child?’

I was so confused and when I got home I told my mum, ‘I met this lady that says you never had a child.’ My mum froze and she said, ‘don’t mind them, they are used to rubbish talk.’

But I got to know years later when I wanted to travel and was looking for my passport where my mum kept it. Since she was not around, I opened the box in her absence and I saw my adoption papers. I never discussed it with my mum because I felt it was something that would hurt her, that was why, it was kept secret from me.

Nollywood actress and mother of one, Tonto Dikeh has just called out a Nigerian airline -Arik Air, describing them as ‘shitty and Lazy‘ for making her loose millions of naira and disappoint a multitude of people.

The actress who was supposed to fly from Abuja to Port Harcourt this morning took to Instagram to write ;

‘Thank you so much for making hard working nigerians lose their hard earn money and income all because we choose to fly/trust with you??

I bought an early flight because i had an early appointment i couldn’t afford to miss but thanks to your shitty services i am forced to loose millions of naira and disappoint a multitude of people’.

‘you don’t deserve to be in operation. You are very lazy, your services are weak,horrible and unprofessional and above all you are a destiny killer and time waster…

The Palace of Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has disproved the news going viral that the revered monarch is set to take as wife the co-convener of Hope Alive, Miss Temitope Adesegun.

Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, has yet again waded in on the trend that has been buzzing in the country for a while now – the #EndSARS.

While the PPRO has always been one who advocates for the #ReformSARS and not #EndSARS, she has always also been one who is against police brutality.

While responding to a tweet by a Nigerian who said he would be traveling down to Nigeria with tattoos of endangered animals to dare police officers, the PPRO responded as thus,

Paul Okoye or Rudeboy, is currently on tour in Europe and he has just shared a story of how a cancelled flight almost led him to disappoint his fans in Copenhagen, Denmark.

According to the “Reality” singer, there wasn’t any more flight for himself and his crew to reach their desired destination, they eventually had to get there via a slower medium.

He shared,

‘We almost disappointed the fans in Copenhagen last night, but God made it possible. There was only one flight from Germany to Copenhagen and the flight was canceled at the last hour of 6pm, there was no flight, no connection flight to a nearby country and also no train, not even a bus we had to beg an ordinary taxi driver who decided to embark on 9hrs drive to Copenhagen by road and guess what? we made it to the venue by 3am and got on stage by 3:15am’.

‘But sha I no baff and it was a great concert and a sold out concert for that matter, thanks to everyone at the concert for your patience. Thank God especially for journey mercies and to that driver from Pakistan God bless you’ he wrote.
