A student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State (FUNAAB), was yesterday, hospitalized, after he consumed a bottle of gin, Lord over a N5,000 bet.

Identified as Hassan Faruk, a 300 level student of Biochemistry department, Faruk had entered the bet with one of his friends, who dared him to drink the bottle of gin.

However, after gulping the gin, he lost consciousness and has to be rushed to the hospital. His current condition remains unknown.

The Anambra State Police Command on Friday denied reported shooting incident of any kind in Anambra State targeted at a pastor or any church as reported in some national dailies.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Chris Owolabi, who addressed the press on behalf of the Commissioner, Garba Umar, at the Command headquarters in Awka while debunking such report described such as the antics of some mischievous elements that are “bent on portraying the state in bad light in order to achieve their selfish goals.

Clarifying on the actual report of what happened, the police boss said Pastor David Elijah of Grace and Power Ministries, Awka claimed that he was attacked by unknown gunmen along Enugu-Udi road in Enugu State and his vehicle was riddled with bullets but he escaped unhurt.

“However, instead of reporting the incident at the nearest police station where the incident took place, the pastor drove his car to his church in Awka and attracted the attention of his congregation who were waiting for him at the church premises for an event.

“Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police directed the DPO ‘B’ Division to immediately proceed to the church and ascertain the true situation. The DPO visited the Pastor at his church and even took photographs with him to clear the ambiguity”

While imploring members of the public to disregard such misleading reports, the command advised Anambra people at home and in the Diaspora to avoid mischievous media and individuals who continue to make spirited attempts to misinform members of the public.

“We should all strive to work in the best interest of our dear state and the Nation in general” the Commissioner of Police stated.

The founder and leader of True Fire Prophetic Word Ministries, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has revealed that he had on some occasions ended up sleeping with other women apart from his wife.

According to Nigel, women are his greatest weakness, and many of them make advances towards him.

Nigel made this revelation in an interview with Blakk Rasta on Accra-based Zylofon FM.

Revealing why he had ‘fallen’ many times to sleep with other women as a self-acclaimed man of God and a married man, Nigel said he found it hard to resist temptation.

“I am married with a child but I have fallen for these temptations several times,” he disclosed.

However, Nigel said he now tries as much as possible to stay focused, ignoring the women who ‘worry’ him.

According to him, any time he is tempted, he prefers to choose the reputation of his future and his mission as a prophet even though it is hard for him.

Nigel revealed further that he looks up to the anointing of God to strengthen him to win this fight.

In what can best be described as a hairy situation, a 55-year-old woman suffered from “black hairy tongue” after a car accident that left both of her legs crushed.

She took an antibiotic to treat her wound infections, and a week later, she noticed her tongue turned black and fuzzy and reported being nauseous and having a “bad taste in her mouth.”

Following her complains, doctors at Washington University suspect that her medication was to blame, reports The New England Journal of Medicine.

The woman was given different medication and her hair-raising symptoms went away after four weeks.

“Back Hairy Tongue” can also be caused by poor oral hygiene, excessive alcohol consumption and smoking.

On the upside though, the condition is usually reversible with good oral hygiene and has no long-term effects if treated early.

Dickson Samba, A Kenyan man reportedly caught his wife bonking another man after he returned home unnanounced, but he unfortunately lost his life.

Dickson after he returned home, caught his wife on another man, and he immediately engaged the man in a fierce fist fight at their home in Umoja Estate, Nairobi.

Unfortunately for him, he fell off the balcony, and died from the injuries he sustained. Eyewitnesses alleged that the man he caught having sex with his wife, overpowered and pushed him over the rails of the balcony of the 4th floor.

While the suspect disappeared from the scene immediately with his whereabouts still unknown, it was gathered that the deceased went down, head first, and died on the spot, following injuries sustained from the fall.

According to multiple reports, a pastor was allegedly attacked and shot at by assassins today, but he miraculously escaped, as none of the bullets penetrated his body.

The reports which was shared by his church members on social media, the pastor, identified as Pastor David Elijah, the founder of Grace and Power Prophetic Ministry International, was attacked in Awka, Anambra state, as he was going to his Church.

Bullets holes can be seen all over Pastor Elijah’s car. Some of his car screens were completely shattered by the bullet. But the pastor had no scratch. Though the bullets tore his clothes, none penetrated his skin.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has appealed to Nigerians living abroad and in diaspora to return home to help build the Nigeria of everybody’s dream, assuring them that things are changing in the country.

Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, made the appeal at a series of Town Hall meetings with Nigerians in the United State where he told them that old ways of doing things are now giving way to new ways. The minister was in the U.S. to sensitise diaspora Nigerians on the Presidential Executive Order V signed by President Buhari in February, to improve local content in public procurement with science, engineering and technology components.

The Order is expected to promote the application of science, technology and innovation towards achieving Nigeria’s development goals across all sectors of her economy.

The minister said: “Please we want you to return home, it is important. Not everybody will return but some can start coming home, and that’s the essence. We are telling you that things are changing in Nigeria, this is the message, that’s why I’m here.

I heard all the complaints people will do this and nobody responds and all that and so on; yes, these are things that happened in the past and we can’t correct these things just overnight. This is the truth, there is no way you can make these changes and then make the corrections and all that overnight. But the important thing is that there is a change”.

Onu appealed to the Nigerians to make a patriotic decisions about their country, saying “we can’t all be waiting until everything is okay in Nigeria before we can return home”.

A motorcycle rider, Ubong Ime, took incest to a new height when he professed love to his daughter whom he allegedly raped and impregnated.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident happened in the Iju area of Lagos State.

Punch correspondent learnt that the 15-year-old victim lived with her mother in Uyo until in 2015 when the father, who had remarried, brought her to Lagos.

Ime, who was arrested by policemen from the Iju Police Station , said he was in love with the victim, adding that he slept with her twice.

He said, “Sometime in June 2018, my wife informed me that my daughter was pregnant after which we both called her to ask who was responsible for the pregnancy.

She did not say anything, but I knew that I was the one who impregnated her and it happened in June. I fell in love with her and had sex with her two times.”

The victim, however, said her father first raped her on a day her stepmother stopped her from going to school after accusing her of stealing.

She said her father, who pretended to be punishing her , had sex with her.

She said, “My stepmother always accused me of stealing her money and most times she beat me up. Sometime in June, my stepmother accused me of stealing her N 200 and because of that, she said I should not go to school.

“While I was doing the house chores, my daddy brought out a wire and started beating me. As he was beating me, he ordered me to sit on the bed and remove my pants.

I initially refused, but as he continued beating me, I obeyed him and he raped me. As I was shouting, one of my neighbours came to knock on our door, but he told him that he was punishing me.

“After the sex, he told me that I should not tell anybody. He was the one that washed the clothes I was supposed to wash that day while I slept. After some time, I woke up and took my bath. I did not tell my stepmother anything.

“Then in July 2018, before we started our examination, my stepmother said I should not go to school. My dad went out in the morning and came back in the afternoon.

As of then, I was sleeping on the bed. I suddenly noticed that someone laid on me. Before I knew it, he had sex with me again, making it twice. He still warned me not to tell anybody what happened between us.”

The victim said when she missed her period in July, her stepmother asked her if she had sex with anyone, but she denied it.

She said she confessed to her stepmother when it was confirmed that she was two months pregnant.

“When my stepmother reported to my daddy that I looked pregnant, he said I should lie to her that I was raped by someone in a hotel. My stepmother continued disturbing me and made me do a pregnancy test . She told me that I was two months’ pregnant.

“When everybody on the street became aware that I was pregnant, I decided to tell my stepmother the truth.

My daddy was the first man that had sex with me. No other person had done it with me before or after him, ” she said .

The victim ’ s half – brother, David, said he had caught his father many times having sex with his sister.

The 12- year – old said , “ There was a day that I came back from school and I met daddy on top of her . Daddy used to have sex with her even in the night if our mummy is not at home . I used to see them together on our bed if our mummy is not at home . ”

Ime was arraigned before an Ogba Magistrates ’ Court on one count of defilement.

The police prosecutor , Inspector John Christopher , said the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria , 2015 .

The charge read in part, “ That you , Ubong Ime, in June 2018 , at about 12 pm on Olushina Street, Isale Haruna , Obawole , Lagos State , in the Ikeja Magisterial District , did defile your daughter (name withheld ) aged 15… . ”

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge .

The presiding magistrate , P. E. Nwaka , remanded the suspect in custody .

The case was adjourned till October 3 , 2018.

A lady simply identified as ‘Glory’ has been arrested in Delta State, for using a ‘fake Facebook Page’ to threaten the life of her friend, identified as Susan, all because she was jealous of her relationship.

According to Sapele Oghenek, Glory created a Facebook page using the picture of another girl and sent messages to Susan to leave her boyfriend or risk being killed.

However, after thorough investigation, Susan found the real owner of the picture being used by the Facebook page and discovered that she was unaware of what was going on.

Glory, was eventually exposed, recently, after she mistakenly left her phone with Susan, who stumbled on the Facebook page while going through the phone and she was subsequently arrested.
