“No wedding took place” – Mohbad’s father claims, says singer called off the wedding over inf!delity

Amid ongoing controversies surrounding the late singer Mohbad, his father has clarified claims regarding his relationship with Cynthia Omowunmi Adebanjo.

In a recorded statement, Mohbad’s father firmly denied that any traditional wedding took place, saying he only attended an introduction ceremony.

He explained that the introduction was meant to formally meet Wunmi’s family after she claimed to be pregnant.

According to him, the late singer initially planned to formalize the marriage but later called it off after alleging that Cynthia was unfaithful.

The father also revealed that these events prompted him to request a DNA test to confirm the child’s parentage.

“When my son was alive and Cynthia claimed to be pregnant, I felt it was necessary to meet her family properly. When we got to the venue, I saw a lot of the lady’s family members sitting there. We completed the introduction, and I met my son’s father-in-law for the first time. But I’m shocked to hear claims that a traditional wedding happened without my knowledge or even the presence of the family head. Who collected the bride price? He said he caught her with another man, informed his friend Myson and his elder sibling and mother, and then decided to tell me. That was why he called off the marriage plans.” He said

His statement adds clarity to the ongoing saga surrounding Mohbad’s personal life, and family concerns following his untimely death.

“Post negative content on social media and face sanctions” – NYSC DG warns corps members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a stern warning to its members against posting negative content on social media that could tarnish the image of the Scheme or Nigeria.

Corps members were urged instead to use social media to positively reflect both the NYSC and the country.

The caution came from Brigadier GeneralOlakunle Nafiu, Director General of NYSC, on Friday while addressing the 2025 Batch C Corps members at the NYSC Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku.

A statement shared via the NYSC official X (Twitter) handle noted that any negative social media posts by Corps members would attract sanctions.

In addition to the social media warning, Brigadier General Nafiu advised members to avoid unauthorized travel, strictly follow camp instructions, and respect the cultural values of their host communities.

“Follow simple instructions, be obedient, go for your biometrics and your Community Development Service. Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment.” He said

The Delta State Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, presented a camp situation report, revealing that 2,101 Corps members 944 male and 1,157 female had been deployed to the state.

He noted that camp activities were progressing smoothly, with full participation from both officials and Corps members, who demonstrated a high level of discipline.

Lady shares message from her dad complaining about the slangs and Pidgin used in their family group chat

A young lady has sparked mixed reactions online after sharing a message her father sent to their family group chat, expressing his frustration over the heavy use of slang and Pidgin English among family members.

In the lengthy text, her father raised concerns about what he described as the street, uneducated language style frequently used in the group.

He noted that many members of the family are graduates, yet their communication does not reflect the level of education they possess.

Emphasizing the need for change, he added that adopting coherent and grammatically correct language would better reflect the maturity and status of everyone in the group.

“There is one negative thing I have observed in the language style on this platform. The language style is usually that of street uneducated elements. Yet I know that most, if not all in the house, are graduates. Unfortunately, the language style herein does not reflect this truism. The need for a change have become imperative, a decideratum. Let coherent
grammatical language style prevail to reflect maturity and status of members of the house. I come in peace.” His text read.

His message has since generated buzz online, with many amused by his formal tone, while others agreed that Pidgin and slang, though fun, can sometimes overshadow clear communication.

Arsenal’s winger Saka proposes to long-term girlfriend Tolami Benson

Bukayo Saka, Arsenal’s winger, has reportedly proposed to his long-term girlfriend, Tolami Benson.

According to reports, the proposal took place at a luxury hotel in London, a move that has delighted both fans and followers of the couple.

Saka and Benson, who are both age mates, have been in a relationship for around five years. Despite their shared history, they have largely kept their romance out of the public eye.

Their first widely observed appearance together was during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Over the years, they gradually became more comfortable showing support publicly.

For instance, Tolami Benson was seen cheering Saka on during Euro 2024, and earlier this year, the couple shared a pitch-side kiss after England’s draw with Slovenia, a moment that attracted significant attention.

Now, the pair are reportedly planning to spend the rest of their lives together.

Saka is said to have gone all out for the proposal, reportedly presenting Tolami with an absolutely enormous engagement ring during a special and intimate evening.

“Tolami has been supporting him through everything… this proposal was well deserved.”

New parents’ rules for guests visiting their newborn spark conversation online

A set of rules shared by new parents for guests visiting their newborn has sparked conversation, after the detailed guidelines surfaced on social media.

The couple, who recently welcomed a baby boy, put together a warm but firm note to help protect their infant’s health and comfort while ensuring visits remain positive and respectful.

In the message, the parents expressed excitement about family and friends meeting their little one, but emphasized that certain boundaries were necessary.

Guests are asked to use hand sanitizer immediately upon entry, and to avoid touching or kissing the baby’s cheeks and mouth.

They also made it clear that their son’s full name, Irewamiri, should be used, not ‘Ire,’ which they gently corrected in the list.

Another rule that caught attention was their request for visitors to speak in a normal, clear voice around the baby.

They discouraged exaggerated baby talk or sounds like ‘jigigijigi yigiyigi,’ explaining that they want their child to get used to hearing regular speech patterns.

The parents further noted that they were not seeking unsolicited advice about raising their baby, stating they already had a strong support system.

They also asked guests to avoid shaking the baby’s hands or touching his ears, prioritizing the infant’s comfort and safety.

Despite the firmness of some rules, the note ended on a warm and appreciative tone, thanking guests for understanding and expressing joy at the chance for loved ones to bond with their newborn.

The list has generated mixed reactions online, while some users agreed with the new parents, others debated how much structure is appropriate for visiting a newborn.

“Children are an expensive subscription, they are not from God” – Izzy Ogbeide (WATCH)

Controversial content creator Izzy Ogbeide has sparked reactions on social media after she mentioned in a video that children are neither blessings nor gifts from God.

The mother of three, known for her outspoken views, described children instead as an expensive subscription.

In the clip, Izzy argued that although society often refers to children as blessings, the reality is that they come with enormous responsibilities that many parents struggle to handle.

She maintained that children are created by their parents’ actions and not handed down by God, like many claim.

Izzy went on to highlight the financial and emotional demands of raising children, noting that parents often underestimate the level of sacrifice involved.

She listed expenses such as swimming lessons, football training, feeding, and daily needs as obligations that weigh heavily on families, especially those already battling financial hardship.

According to her, the struggles many parents face contradict the idea that children are divine gifts.

She claimed that if God truly sent children as blessings, parents would naturally be equipped with the resources needed to care for them without struggle.

“Children are not blessings, and they are not from God. Yes, I don’t care if you believe it or not. Children are from you, not God. They are not gifts. Children are an expensive subscription you can’t return or cancel. Children are what you make, they come from your hard work, not from God. What comes from God is something you don’t merit or work for. The Bible even says the blessing of the Lord adds no sorrow. Children bring responsibility, stress, and bills, so they are something you create. Do you know there are people who can’t even feed their children? They have to beg before their kids eat. If children were truly from God, He would first bless the parents, whether they work or not, before giving them children. You don’t get it? or do you want me to speak in tongues before you understand?” She said

UK-based Nigerian man f@tally $tabbed in Norwich student accommodation

A UK-based Nigerian man has been identified as the victim of a fatal stabbing inside a student accommodation block in Norwich.

The deceased, Uchenna ‘Uche’ Okirie, believed to be in his 30s, was known as a British Red Cross volunteer and a student connected to the University of East Anglia (UEA).

Okirie was thought to be a current or former postgraduate student at UEA’s School of International Development.

He published a research paper last year under the university’s name examining the impact of climate change on health outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa.

However, the university said initial checks did not locate his student record, though they confirmed that a small number of their students reside in the accommodation.

Emergency services were called to Somerleyton House at about 5 a.m. on Saturday. On arrival, officers and paramedics found Okirie with a stab wound to the chest. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police subsequently launched a murder investigation and arrested 27-year-old Congolese national Benjamin Katabana.

Residents of Somerleyton House said they were jolted awake by a fire alarm early that morning. One neighbour told the Eastern Daily Press that they saw people outside in their pyjamas and noticed several police cars before any ambulance arrived, immediately sensing that something serious had happened.

Okirie’s social media activity shows he has taken part in various volunteer projects with the British Red Cross and also served as an international student ambassador for Nigeria.

In a statement, a UEA spokesperson said the university had contacted all known students living in Somerleyton House and would continue to offer them full support during the difficult period following the tragedy.

After three road crashes in two months, Ogun State government moves to prosecute DJ Chicken

The Ogun State Government has announced that it is fast-tracking the prosecution of entertainer Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a series of road traffic incidents linked to him in recent weeks.

In a statement released on X (Twitter), the Ministry of Justice said the pending case against DJ Chicken arising from a 1 November 2025 crash in Sagamu is now being prioritised for prompt arraignment.

According to the ministry, the incident involved a collision with two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger seriously injured.

Officials allege that he attempted to flee the scene before being confronted by bystanders, while police opened an investigation and ensured medical care for the victims.

The ministry further disclosed that another crash occurred on 23 November 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State, where Mr Abiodun was reportedly involved in a lone-vehicle incident that nearly struck pedestrians.

According to the Ministry of Justice, yesterday’s crash is said to be his third in two months, and video evidence exists for at least two of the incidents.

The government said the pattern of behaviour demonstrates a special danger to society and warrants criminal prosecution rather than treating the collisions as purely civil matters.

Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has therefore directed officials to expedite action on the Sagamu case.

The ministry said it is collaborating closely with the Ogun State Police Command to bring the matter before the courts.

The government added that its intervention is necessary to protect the public, citing what it described as an organic outcry over DJ Chicken’s continued driving following the repeated incidents.

Paystack fires CTO Ezra Olubi amid allegations of $exual misconduct and @buse against minors, and the resurfacing of disturbing tweets made by him

Nigerian fintech company Paystack has terminated the employment of its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following public allegations of sexual misconduct involving a junior employee.

Olubi confirmed the termination in a blog post on Sunday, November 23, 2025, stating that the decision was made before the company’s investigation had been completed.

He claimed he was not given a meeting or an opportunity to respond prior to the termination, which he said may have contravened the terms of his suspension and Paystack’s internal policies.

Ezra added that his legal team is reviewing the process and may take further action.

The controversy began in mid-November after a social media post alleging abusive behavior by Olubi went viral.

Internet users subsequently resurfaced explicit tweets from earlier in his career, dating from 2009 to 2013, which contained sexual content and jokes described by many as predatory.

Paystack, acquired by Stripe in 2020, initially suspended Olubi and opened a formal investigation. The company stated that it had established a review process and intended to appoint an independent investigator.

As of now, Paystack has not issued a new public statement following Olubi’s blog post, and it remains unclear whether Stripe will comment further. Any legal action by Olubi could lead to new disclosures that clarify the facts and company procedures surrounding the termination.

Family who d!sowned their teen daughter over false HIV rumours later learns she has diabetes

A heartbreaking story shared on X (Twitter) has sparked reactions after revealing how an 18-year-old girl was falsely accused of sleeping with men and contracting HIV.

Only for medical tests to show she was suffering from a serious but unrelated health condition after her family had accused her of bringing shame to the family

According to the health worker who narrated the incident, the teenager had been battling progressive weight loss, loss of appetite, and abdominal swelling.

Rather than seeking medical attention, her family and community concluded that she must have contracted HIV through promiscuity, she was stigmatized, rejected, and eventually disowned.

When her symptoms worsened, she was presented at a Primary Health Centre (PHC), where routine tests were carried out.

However, the results contradicted every accusation made against her she did not have HIV, she was not pregnant but her blood sugar levels were extremely high prompting further urgent testing.

After follow up tests, the health worker concluded that the girl was most likely suffering from Type 1 Diabetes and requires immediate medical attention.

When the health centre contacted her parents to discuss the diagnosis, the teenager’s father refused to come, he reportedly sent someone else, insisting he was done with her.

The mother had been crying since the girl was thrown out of the house. After persistent outreach, the father was convinced to return to the facility, where evidence showed his daughter had been wrongfully judged.

The health worker revealed that the person who started the rumour was a close family member, and the community had accepted the accusation simply because they noticed her weight loss, vomiting and a swollen abdomen without considering the possibility of a medical condition.

The health worker concluded the post with a powerful reflection that stigma, especially when tied to misinformation, can destroy lives even before illness does.

Moment bus driver dumps a passenger mid-trip after downplaying insecurity in Nigeria

A Nigerian lady has shared a story on X (Twitter) about how a bus driver dumped a passenger mid-trip for making an insensitive remark about the insecurity in the country.

According to her tweet, passengers in the bus were discussing the rising cases of kidnapping when the conversation shifted to politics.

She said one of the men in the vehicle argued that Nigerians, especially Yorubas, should support the president regardless of the hardship in the country.

The man allegedly dismissed the worsening security situation, saying kidnappings and killings were not new and something Nigerians should simply accept.

Unknown to him, the driver, who is from Ilorin, quietly pulled over in a bushy area, asked everyone to come down under the guise of checking the vehicle, refunded the man’s fare, and ordered him out of the bus before driving off with the remaining passengers.

She added that no one spoke up or pleaded on the man’s behalf because the situation of the country has tired everybody.

Reflecting on the incident, she said the moment captured the frustration, fear, and emotional exhaustion many Nigerians feel as insecurity, inflation, unemployment, and daily hardship continue to affect lives.

Below are some of the comments;

“You mean the driver no reduce him teeth from 32 to 20 before leaving him behind?”

“I love what the driver did to him. If more people treat Tinubu supporters like this, they will all change and their head will correct by force.”

“The bus driver did the right thing! We as a country are all tired irrespective of tribes and a human still has the guts to make it about tribe.”

“Why does he think he needs to defend a politician especially at a time when we should be holding them accountable?”

Veekee James sparks debate after urging women to support their families financially, and not to rely solely on their husbands (WATCH)

Fashion designer Veekee James has stirred public conversation following remarks she made at a recent conference, where she emphasized the importance of financial responsibility and hard work among women.

Speaking to a gathering of women, Veekee James said a good wife should not wait around for her husband’s money, but should instead contribute actively to the well-being of her home.

According to her, a woman who embodies these values feeds her home through her own efforts, highlighting self-reliance and diligence as key qualities that strengthen a family.

She also noted that women should be willing to support their households financially, especially when building a family or business with their partner.

Veekee James also encouraged women to engage more closely with their spouses regarding their professional ambitions.

“What do you want me to do? How do you want me to start?” She described this collaborative approach as an important attribute of a supportive and forward-thinking wife.

Her comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding her call for shared financial responsibility in marriage, while others argue that her expectations place excessive pressure on women.

Below are some of the comments;

“She’s saying this cos she married a poor man. She’s the bread winner. You don’t have to impose this on women whose situations are different.”

Everyone should do whatever works for their marriage. Some rich men with rich wives still prefer to be the sole provider

“It’s good advice. Whether you marry down, marry equal or marry up, don’t be reliant and helpless.”

“So what will the husband be doing in the house then If the wife is doing almost everything at home?”

“Release Nnamdi Kanu or forget south-east votes in 2027” – Cubana Chief Priest tells Tinubu

Nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest has issued a public message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The statement, which was posted on his Instagram page, argued that Kanu’s continued detention could severely undermine the president’s support in the South-East ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In the lengthy post, Cubana Chief Priest claimed that as long as Kanu remains in custody, the president cannot and will never get up to 10,000 votes in the South-East.

He described Kanu as the supreme leader of the South-East, insisting that his detention has caused so much setback among the region’s population.

He also criticized federal ministers from the South-East, calling them cowards who fail to convey the region’s grievances to the president.

According to him, many political stakeholders who appear loyal to the ruling government are just bags of deceit, stating that their influence cannot genuinely sway South-East voters.

The socialite also addressed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, urging him to play a decisive role in resolving the issue. He warned that the governor’s achievements risk being overshadowed if Kanu’s detention persists.

Regarding Abia State, he mentioned that President Tinubu’s absence during recent project commissioning ceremonies was poorly received in the region, and that sending a minister he described as incompetent worsened the situation.

Cubana Chief Priest concluded his message by urging the presidency to appeal the judgment and get it right, warning that ignoring the issue may lead to political setbacks in 2027.

Yemi Alade reveals she was $#xually h@r@ssed as a teenager by music executives

Nigerian singer and songwriter Yemi Alade has revealed that she was sexually harassed as a teenager by music industry executives while trying to build her career.

Speaking on a podcast session, the award-winning artist opened up about the challenges she faced as a young talent with limited resources.

She explained that despite her determination and hard work, some of the industry’s gatekeepers demanded exploitation rather than appreciating her abilities.

Yemi Alade recounted that many of the incidents occurred during studio sessions and business meetings, often involving older men who were in positions of power.

As a teenager, she said she frequently found herself stunned into silence.

The singer said the repeated harassment made her question whether she wanted to continue pursuing a music career. However, she found the strength to stay committed to her passion.

“In those beginning days, all I thought I needed was just my talent because that’s what I have. I didn’t have a bank account full of money I could use to sponsor myself. I just had a talent and a zeal, and a promise that I made to myself and a promise I believed God made to me. So, I always tried to show up. I was told that I needed to work harder, and so I worked harder, and it wasn’t enough. There were doors I needed to walk up to, and when I walked up to the doors. They didn’t want my talent; they wanted something else. Many times, from business meetings to studio sessions, to even winning certain awards, you meet maybe the managing director or any other executive, and they are trying to rub your thighs under the table. And I was just a teen. My grandpa is rubbing my legs, and I can’t speak because I’m in shock. We are having an actual business meeting. Why are you rubbing my thighs? I had to speak to myself and decided if music was what I wanted to do because the sexual harassment was becoming too rampant.

But something in me told me to keep pushing my talent. So, I still showed up. If the door was left open for me, I would walk in. If it was shut in my face, I would walk away.” She said

“Followers dropped, but my account balance is still intact” – Billionaire son Kiddwaya tells critics

Kiddwaya has addressed fresh criticism from social media users after a series of tweets that sparked backlash on X (Twitter).

The reality star had earlier posted about the forthcoming Detty December festivities, a post many felt was insensitive considering current national issues.

The reaction intensified when he followed up with another tweet claiming he would win if he contested for governor of Benue State.

Critics flooded his mentions, telling him to read the room, accusing him of being tone-deaf and arrogant.

Responding to the wave of unfollows and negative comments, Kiddwaya reminded his critics that their online reactions had no effect on his finances.

“I woke up to some people unfollowing me. I had to check my bank account to see if it was affected, also… It wasn’t…” He wrote

The remark has stirred further debate, with some users calling him names, while others defended him as simply clapping back at online critics.

Below are some of the comments;

“If you really didn’t care, you wouldn’t even post this, you would have gone on with your day and enjoy the money in your account.. But you do, in fact, care a lot. I think it even pissed you off so much that you made this tweet so you can also rile people up in return.”

“It’s all good and well till you need something from Nigerians. That’s when you’ll know that all these your bragging cannot take you anywhere.”

“Bobo, calm down. We all sabi say if your papa no hustle clean, na that same questionable money you dey use do rich man joke for here. Nobody blind. And make we no lie people wey actually fit buy and sell your papa sef, their own children no dey make noise like you. So abeg, drop this foolishness. “It’s high time we stopped posting youths to states outside their base” – Odumodublvck to NYSC amid rising insecurity

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has called on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to suspend the posting of corps members to states outside their home base, citing rising insecurity across the country.

In a tweet directed at the official NYSC account, the rapper appealed for urgent reforms, stressing that the original purpose of cross-state deployment is no longer realistic given Nigeria’s current security challenges.

He noted that the the NYSC scheme, which began as a brilliant idea, has now become very difficult to sustain.

Odumodublvck urged authorities to consider the emotional burden placed on families who constantly fear for the safety of their children during the service year.

@officialnyscng PLEASE ITS HIGH TIME WE SUSPEND THE POSTING OF OUR YOUTHS TO DIFFERENT STATES OTHER THAN WHERE THEY ARE BASED. IT ALL STARTED OFF AS A BRILLIANT IDEA, BUT NOW WITH THE STATE OF OUR COUNTRY ITS NOT SUSTAINABLE. PLEASE PITY THE PARENTS. KIDS ARE DYING MOVE WITH THE TIMES, He wrote

His appeal has stirred discussions online, with many users agreeing with his concerns and demanding a review of the NYSC posting structure amid ongoing insecurity.

Below are some of the comments;

“It should be scrapped. Hundreds of lives lost, family losing their love ones. It’s a horrible system and it’s not worth it @officialnyscng people are dying oooooooooooo

“The whole world is moving towards General Artificial intelligence (AGI) we are still doing NYSC in 2025.”

“You’re absolutely right. What used to be a noble idea has become a danger. NYSC needs a full review, safety should come before tradition.”

“NYSC should scrap this rubbish . They are just putting people’s lives in danger. NYSC does not really impact lives in any meaningful way, I have been there so I can tell from the experience.”
