Theresa May, UK Prime Minister has arrived Nigeria as part of her tour to three African nations.
She was received at the State House by President Buhari and other government officials.

May’s visit to Nigeria is part of her tour of some African countries. She visited South Africa on Tuesday and is expected to head to Kenya from Nigeria.
While in Nigeria, May and Buhari will discuss the security challenges in the country, the economy, 2019 elections and will also sign defence and economic agreements.
After the meeting with Buhari, May will proceed to Lagos, where she is expected to visit victims of modern slavery.
The UK prime minister had described Nigeria as home to the highest number of “very poor people” in the world.
Speaking in Cape Town, South Africa, May said: “Much of Nigeria is thriving, with many individuals enjoying the fruits of a resurgent economy, yet 87 million Nigerians live below $1 and 90 cents a day, making it home to more very poor people than any other nation in the world.”

The 73-page document filed at a Los Angeles court by executors, including close friends John Branca and John McClain, showed publishing rights from hits like Thriller delivered $2,448,584.99. But his merchandising arm Triumph International brought in the most – $18.8million in the same period.
Spending included $10.8million on a house for the children and $85,297.65 for a top-of-the-range Cadillac Escalade for their security team. Budding film director Prince was given a $70,000 truck and a Chevron fuel card on which he spent $9,000.
The children enjoyed five holidays, including to Hawaii, for which they got $28,500 in spending money alone.
It was also revealed that Jackson’s mother Katherine, 88, collected around $1million to cover health bills, allowance and expenses, and $257,379 to run her own home. When she temporarily handed over their guardianship to Michael’s cousin TJ, he got $5,790 every two weeks.
Hayvenhurst, where Michael lived before he bought Neverland, cost $157,000, including $60,000 on rebuilding the main house and installing an alarm.
The court papers state the executors have “disposed of most of the creditors’ claims”, but some debts still remain.
According to the report, the accounts are so complex that the figures are only for the year of 2015 following the claims that Jackson’s estate owes $500million in back taxes.
The estate is trying to negotiate a deal on his bills for the last decade and “true value” of his estate as it’s understood the gross earnings since Michael’s death have exceeded $900million.
This means his children Paris, 20, Prince, 21, and Blanket, 16, are living their lives in luxury which they were denied in the last three years of his life.
Before their father died in 2009 with debts of $500million, the Pop king said they were like “vagabonds.”
The Porn star, Stormy Daniels who has been battling with United States President, Donald Trump has revealed that the President lasts only two minutes in bed.
She however said Trump is a “good conversationalist,” who asked “good questions about the porn industry,” including if adult film stars get royalties and residuals or had a union.
Speaking with Vogue magazine published on Tuesday, Stormy Daniels explained part of the extra-marital encounter she had with Trump.
When asked: “How many details can you really give about two minutes?” Daniels said, “Maybe. I’m being generous.”

A Nigerian woman has found herself in a hospital with a broken jaw after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband.
According to popular Facebook group, DPA, the woman who didn’t give the reason for the alleged maltreatment by her husband, she was beaten mercilessly and left injured in the process.
The woman also accused her husband of tearing up her certificates and credentials in a bid to spite and punish her.
The woman who was rushed to the hospital after the alleged brutalization is now seeking for justice after contacting her legal team.
The police in Lagos police said they arrested 57 men for alleged homosexual activity at Kelly Ann Hotel/ Event Centre in Egbeda, Lagos, on Sunday morning.
The police said on arrival, young men numbering about 80 were met in a hall taking different types of drinks including banned substance like Tramadol, Shisha laced with substances suspected to be Marijuana. When the men sighted the police, they took to their heels but the police arrested 57 of them.
One of the arrested suspects, a 20-year-old man identified as James Brown told journalists they were attending a birthday party and that he is not a homosexual.
The young man who said he is a dancer – told journalists during the parade in Lagos, that he disclosed to the police that he is HIV positive and yet they arrested him and labelled him gay even though he was at the night club to perform.
When asked how he contacted HIV, he said that he got from birth (through his mother).
The young man said; “I went there to work and get paid. The party was on Saturday and it is (was) meant to be overnight. I was arrested and have been denied to even take my drugs which is for medical reasons.”
James Brown also said that they were about 25 girls at the birthday venue but the police left them to arrest the guys and labelled them gays. He said he regrets the day he was born in this country.
Superstar singer, Davido, who is about to serve his fatherland in the mandatory NYSC scheme on Tuesday, has been seen swarmed by fans during the registration inside the camp.
We reported on Tuesday that popular Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, also known as Davido, revealed through his social media pages that he is off to serve his fatherland.
The 2015 Babcock University, Ogun State, graduate of Music, kicked-off his one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme by joining the 2018 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 in Lagos state.
Photos which emerged online show the moment the billionaire’s son was registering for the Orientation Course at the Lagos NYSC Camp in the Iyana-Ipaja area of Agege.
Other photos also show fans rush the superstar musician during the registration to take photos with him.
Some irate youths in Ede, Osun State, have beaten to death an HND 2 student at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Fisayo Olorunfemi, aka Fish, after the student allegedly crushed an 18-year-old admission seeker, Islamat Bello, to death with his vehicle.
There were various accounts of the number of lives lost in the accident, which occurred in Ita Oloki in Ede.
While residents claimed that four persons were crushed to death and the driver lynched, the police said the undergraduate killed one person and he was murdered by the angry mob.
Apart from the admission seeker, residents said Olorunfemi, who drove a Toyota Camry, with number plate, AAA 463 DV, also killed a telephone repairer, identified as Waliu, and one unidentified person.
Olorunfemi, who was reportedly lynched by the youths of the town, was said to be speeding to avoid being arrested by some security operatives after he had allegedly killed a woman in purdah with the car in the Olowo-Bida area.
The driver, who was said to be a student of Building Technology, was reportedly beaten to death at the scene by the youth, who saw the mangled bodies of those he allegedly hit.
A resident, who identified himself as Sule, told PUNCH Metro that Fish rammed into the admission seeker who was trekking by the roadside after she had sat for the post-UTME exams at the polytechnic.
Waliu and one other person were said to be on a motorcycle when the speeding car also rammed into them and flung them into a ditch.
Although the accident happened around 6pm on Monday, our correspondent who visited the scene on Tuesday saw bloodstains on the wall of a building near the scene.
An electric pole, which the car rammed into after crushing the admission seeker, had broken into two but the iron rods inside the concrete pole were seen still holding it from falling completely.
Some personal belongings of the deceased, such as slippers, handkerchiefs, as well as broken windscreen, number plate of the motorcycle, and others were still at the scene although the remains of the victims had been removed, while the vehicle had been towed away.
The Assistant Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in charge of Osun West, Mr Hussein Sanusi, told our correspondent that he was informed that three persons died in the incident.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Osun State, Mr Peter Oke, who also confirmed the incident, said the driver crushed to death a motorcycle rider and a female passenger.
He said, “The accident involved a Totota Camry, whose driver was said to have hit a motorcyclist and a girl. The two of them died. The driver was also said to have been killed by people.”
But the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, said that the accident claimed one life and the angry mob lynched the driver of the vehicle.
He said, “One person died in the accident. The accident involved a car and a motorcycle and people took the law into their own hands and killed the poor boy.
“Efforts are being intensified to arrest those that killed the boy. It was an accident; it was not intentional, except they can establish that the boy drove intentionally to kill.”

A nine-year-old boy in Denver, Colorado, has committed suicide on the first week of school after being bullied by classmates for coming out as gay, his mother says.
Leia Pierce told local media that her son, Jamel Myles, killed himself at their home last Thursday after enduring several days of
homophobic bullying. “Four days is all it took at school.
I could just imagine what they said to him,” Pierce told KDVR. “My son told my oldest daughter the kids at school told him to kill himself. I’m just sad he didn’t come to me.” Pierce said her son, who was enrolled at Joe Shoemaker Elementary School, told her he was gay over the summer and that he wanted to come out as such to his classmates when he started school. “He went to school and said he was gonna tell people he’s gay because he’s proud of himself,” she said.
The school said grief counselors had been made available to students and staff and a letter was sent to families about the tragedy
and help available.
Pierce said she hopes her son’s death will raise awareness about the devastating effects of bullying “We should have accountability for bullying,” she said. “I think the child should, because the child knows it’s wrong.
The child wouldn’t want someone to do it to them. I think the parent should be held (accountable) because obviously the parents are either teaching them to be like that, or they’re treating them like that.”
The police in Edo state have arrested the Proprietress of God’s Orphanage Home, in Benin, Edo State, Kehinde Blessing Imarhiagbe, for complicity in the alleged theft of four-year-old-Elo Ogidi.
Elo was abducted from church in Lagos state on July 8th and was found in the orphanage run by Imarhiagbe last Friday,
Speaking to journalisits while parading Mrs. Imarhiagbe, the State Police Commissioner, Babatunde Kokumo, described the activity of the suspect as unwholesome, adding that the stolen girl was “found at the orphanage under questionable circumstances.”
Speaking in her defense, Imarhiagbe, said Elo was brought to her Orphanage home by a man who gave his name as Emeka, who allegedly claimed to be the father of the child, adding that he had lost the mother. Imarhiagbe said since she did not suspect any foul play, she did not bother to probe the true identity of the baby, especially when Emeka was visiting her orphanage home every week.
She, however, said she was surprised to have received a phone call while she was attending a church programme in Sapele, Delta State, that the police were looking for her in connection with a child allegedly stolen in Lagos.
She said on arriving Benin, she surrendered herself to the police and that since her arrest all efforts to reach Emeka had not been unsuccessful as Emeka has since switched off his phone.

Beautiful Nollywood Actress, Uduak Akrah has died.
Her colleagues confirmed this on the social media, saying she died on Saturday, following injuries sustained from a fatal fall in the bathroom.
“I just heard from someone close to her and her family in Abuja. She suffered complications in the past few months from a nasty fall in the bathroom,” said filmmaker Charles Novia.
The actress who is based in Abuja was said to have been ill from the accident for some time, and was eventually brought to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Described by colleagues as a versatile entertainer both on screen and on stage, Uduak, a graduate of Creative Art from the University of Lagos, was also an event planner and singer.
“Fantastic actress on stage and screen… An Akokite, calm and gentle, may her soul rest perfectly in peace,” said Iyen Agbonifo.
She is known for films like ‘Emotional Crack’ and ‘Bafana Bafana’.

Princess Shyngle has made a shocking revelation that Ghanaian footballer, Michael Esien cheated on his wife, Akosua Puni Essien with her for a period of 1 year before she found out he was married.
The actress was reacting to her recent statement that 99.9% of the guys she dated couldn’t satisfy her. She made the shocking revelation in an interview with Delay on the Delay Show.
“I dated him. I had no idea he was married. I had no reason to ask him because I never saw wedding ring on his finger and there were obviously no pictures of him and any woman on a social media so I assumed that he was a single man,” she told Delay.
When asked if she was still in a relationship with Essien she answered in the negative.
“Technically, no! What happened was I got to know that he was married and that was a deal breaker for me. Obviously, we were out in public which was a dumb move and I got contacted by some people that he was married and then I decided to google and I found out that he was really married,” she said.
“I dated him. I had no idea he was married. I had no reason to ask him because I never saw wedding ring on his finger and there were obviously no pictures of him and any woman on a social media so I assumed that he was a single man,” she told Delay.
Many veteran artiste attended the event to pay their last respect to the Reggae King.
At one of the events organized, Daddy Showkey was requested to manage the stage. However, a video emerged showing a brawl between him and a man later identified to be an artiste associate.
In the video, Daddy Showkey was really upset as he threw the man off the stage. GoldMyneTv spoke with Daddy Showkey and he gave his account of what transpired.
Daddy Showkey said he was pleaded with to manage the stage and ensure those not needed don’t crowd the stage but the particular man in question came on the stage with an artiste.
The stage was heavily occupied and so he politely requested that the man leaves the stage but he grew aggressive and locked his shirt.
In the process, the man pushed Late Ras Kimono’s cousin who fell. Daddy Showkey said at that moment, he couldn’t accept that disgrace and threw the man off the stage.
His decision to lock his shirt means he was ready to fight him and so he approached him to defend himself. Daddy Showkey said most times, people forget that celebrities are human as well with feelings and emotions.
He further said those that know him know he rarely gets upset as he loves to play a lot unless when pushed to the wall
Some people gathered and appealed to him for peace so he left the scene immediately. Daddy Showkey revealed that the man later came to apologize in the evening.
It was pure tragedy at the Ikoyi Passport Office of the Nigerian Immigration Service as an applicant seeking to get the Nigerian International Passport died.
According to reports from Daily Post, the incident threw both Immigration officers as well as other passport seekers into confusion as to what to do next.
It was gathered that the applicant had arrived the passport office at about 7.am accompanied by his wife.
It was also learnt that the couple were asked to wait along with others till 9.am when the office would be open to members of the public.
It was gathered that the man became restless around I0.am, when he started complaining of severe heat and discomfort.
He later requested to use the rest room.
An eye witness who spoke on the condition of anonymity said:
“He was walking up and down complaining that he should be attended to as he and his wife arrived the passport office before other applicants the officers were attending to.
“We told him that even though he came early, our official resumption time is 9.am, but he would not listen.
“Along the line, he said we should show him the toilet and we showed him.
“After about 20 minutes, his wife became worried that he has not come out from the toilet, but we calmed her down and our toilet attendants were asked to monitor the man.
“After about 40 minutes, we knocked several times and he did not respond.
“We tried to open the door, but it was locked from the inside. The mistake was that we should had forced the door open, but we were warned by our superior not to break the door until the Police arrived the scene.
“The police later arrived and forced the door to the toilet open. What we saw was gory.
“He had removed his clothes and he was sitting on the stool, but he was dead.
“He died few minutes before we opened the door, maybe he would have survived if we had rushed him to the hospital.”
A witness said there was pandemonium as people scampered for safety as the dead body was brought out from the toilet.
The Passport Controller in charge of Ikoyi Passport office, (PCO) Mani Yari, said:
“Yes it is the true, an applicant died in our Toilet. He came to our office with his wife.
“There was no queue, as he did not come to collect Passport. We attend to visitors as from 9.am.
“As from 9.am, we started attending to the applicants. Along the line, the deceased said he wanted to ease himself.
“It was after about 40 minutes that the wife started raising the alarm that her husband had not come back from the toilet.
“We thought it was the normal panic from a woman. But when we arrived the scene and he did not open the door that we called the police who came and bust the door open and we saw the lifeless body.
“The body has been deposited at a government hospital for autopsy.” he narrated.
Nigerian singer, Davido has registered for the NYSC Programme. Taking to his Instagram page, he posted a photo of himself in the NYSC uniform.

In a viral video shared by Tunde Ednut, he alleged that Davido might be going for his service year because he wants to build a political career.

Serena Williams’ daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian turns 1 this week but her mother will not celebrate her birthday because of Jehovah Witness’ rules against celebrating birthdays.
The tennis legend has confirmed that she will not be celebrating her baby girl’s first birthday, due to her beliefs as a Jehovah’s Witness.
She made this known while speaking at a press conference at the US Open.
A reporter asked Serena: “Is there a birthday party planned?”
And Serena replied: “Olympia doesn’t celebrate birthdays. We’re Jehovah’s Witnesses, so we don’t do that.”
Though Serena’s husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, did not grow up in a religious household, it is believed that he is now practising with his wife.
Speaking to Vogue last year, Serena said: “Being a Jehovah’s Witness is important to me, but I’ve never really practised it and have been wanting to get into it. Alexis didn’t grow up going to any church, but he’s really receptive and even takes the lead. He puts my needs first.”
