Sam Loco’s son has relived some fond memories of his father, a few years after the death of the Veteran Actor.
The son, identified as Omoruyi has stated that no one dared to stop his father to quit smoking.
Speaking to Punch’s Saturday Beats, Omoruyi said his father was planning his retirement by building a farm in Abakaliki before death snagged him away.
“Nobody could tell him to stop smoking because he was a very strict person. You couldn’t tell him something like that, so we didn’t see it as our business. However, we really miss him in the house because he had a very good sense of humour but he was a very busy person.
“We all expected him to retire so that we would have enough time to spend with him. He was also planning towards his retirement by building a farm in Abakaliki but death took him away suddenly,” he said.
The late actor’s son further disclosed that he admired his father especially as an actor, and Sam Loco hoped he would follow in his footsteps.
“I admired my daddy as an actor. All through my primary school days, I was into acting. He wanted me to go into acting after my WAEC before I got admission into the university and I was enrolled into the acting academy for a while before I gained admission into the university. I am very sure if I go into acting full time now, my dad would be very proud of me but I don’t think I would go back to acting anytime soon,” the late veteran’s son said.

Nineteen Nigerians have been arrested in a swoop in Umoja, Kasarani and Roysambu estates in Nairobi over suspected internet scam targeting Kenyan Facebook users.
Detectives said the scam starts with a simple Facebook friend request. After a target accepts the seemingly harmless request, the fraudsters then initiate a friendly chat promising the victim goodies to be sent through DHL at the airport.
The following day or thereafter the victim receives a call from someone pretending to be an attendant at the DHL office asking for payment of clearance fees for the promised parcel.
If a target sends the money through M-Pesa, another call is made requesting for another payment for other documentation and taxes. Once the payments are done, the fraudsters never pick their victims calls again.
Following the swoop on Saturday morning, detectives did not reveal the charges set to be levelled against the suspects and how much money Kenyans have lost in the social media scam.

The Edo State Police Command on Friday, paraded a 14-year-old girl, who allegedly killed her septugenarian madam in Benin, Edo State by smashing her head with a stone.
Anna Amos, a secondary school student was arrested by the police on Tuesday, for the murder of 71-year-old Hellen Adodo, whom she had lived with since March, 2018, as a house-maid.
Anna, from Abuja, gave the step-by-step description of how she committed the murder, when she was paraded alongside 101 other criminal suspects arrested by the police.
The teenager who was in tears all thorough the period, narrated how her victim had treated her fairly all the years she lived with her.
She however blamed her dastardly act on influence of unseen voodoo spirit which possessed her.
According to the suspect, in the morning of that fateful day, she boiled water for the deceased to bathe, after which she served her her meal, before she killed her.
“After that?, I packed the dirty plates outside to wash them. As I opened the door and stepped on the varanda, something just came into my body as if possessing me. I no longer know what I was doing and I abandoned the plates? I was supposed to wash. I stood on the stone, and later took it, went inside with it and hit it on her head,” she narrated.
“I do not know what entered my body. It was a spirit. It told me to go and kill her. She did not offend me.” she added.
The deceased was initially reported to have died after her head was smashed with a stone by unknown persons who allegedly sneaked into her residence on Guobadia Street, in Benin, at about 7am. The assailants suposedly blindfolded the teenage suspect before killing the septuagenarian.
When asked why she earlier said some people came into their house, gagged her mouth before smashing the head of the late woman, Anna blamed her dastardly act on influence of unseen voodoo spirit which possessed her.
“The thing that entered into me was controlling me, it told me that if I expose it, it will kill me.”
She later confessed her crime to the son of the deceased, who handed her to the police operatives.
A clip obtained by journalists on Wednesday showed the teenager confessing to the crime in the presence of some residents in the area.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Chidi Nwabuzor, had stated that the Command received a distress call over the matter at about 8:30 am.
Nwabuzor also disclosed that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
“At about 8:30 am, the Divisional Police Officer of New Etete Police Station received a distress call that the woman in question was murdered. The DPO went there and found her lifeless body in her house in a pool of blood from the head region and a stone close to the body. The (distress) caller said that two men came into the residence, murdered the woman and went away. The DPO went there with operatives only to find the body on the ground in a pool of blood from the head region.
Then on investigation, it was revealed today that a girl who was staying with her, named Anna Amos, who came from the North with the help of the daughter of the late woman, was the one that killed the woman.
“Confession was made by this Anna Amos that she actually killed the woman. Anna Amos is 14 years old and by law, she is still a minor. But we will do all we can to see what we can do. We will not rely on the confession of that girl because she might not be the one responsible for the killing of that woman. According to investigation, the woman has been going through a lot of challenges with her health and before her death, she was down with a stroke. Perhaps somebody else did and asked this little girl to own up as the culprit. So, investigation in ongoing. We will try our best to unravel the situation and the report will be made public,” Nwabuzor said.
American Rapper, Nicki Minaj has finally cleared the air by saying there is beef going on between her and Cardi B during the Thursday’s episode of her Queen Radio.
The rapper was interviewed by Beats 1 host Ebro Darden who brought up, yet again, Nicki’s strained relationship with the I Like It rapper, as well as her feud much-publicised feud with Remy Ma.
“I never saw you and Remy heading in this path. I never saw that. I never saw you and Cardi headed in this path. I never saw that,” said Ebro during the broadcast. “And do you believe these things are fixable? Because women in rap are having a time right now, at least a lot of— ”

The Nigerian Police force has declared nine bankers wanted for stealing various amount of money from depositors of a new generation bank.
The police acted on petitions it received from the bank and its customers on the disappearance of a large sum of money from their various accounts.
They include Oshiojum Chibuzor Wilson, Juwon Faromoh, Akanaga Christian, Linda Chekwube, Matthew Akpan, Oluwasoji Ajetumobi, Nelson Omuzagha, Ogunlaja Ganiyu and Adeyemi Omitogun.

At least a dozen people are reportedly trapped under the rubble of a four-storey building that collapsed in Jabi area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
It is understood that most of the trapped peoples were squatting in the building when it suddenly caved in.
Another eyewitness who spoke to Daily Trust said one of the trapped persons made a phone call to a friend, pleading for assistance.
“Before the officials came, we rescued four persons while one died. One of the rescued persons had a broken leg. They were rushed to the hospital. Others are still trapped,” an eyewitness said.
Rescue operation is ongoing at the site which is opposite a shopping mall and close to the popular Jabi park.

Study has shown that rich men love women with small breasts, while the poor love those with big bust.
Psychologists Viren Swami and Martin Tovée conducted a study, which investigated whether men’s access to resources would influence their preferences for breast size in women.
According to Metro UK, the duo carried out two experiments in which they tested whether men who lack material goods would find larger breasts more desirable than men who do have material goods.
For the first experiment, they explored the relationship between financial security and men’s preferences in breast size. They recruited 266 men from three parts of Malaysia that varied in socio-economic status – low, medium and high.
Each participant was shown animated female figures, each varying in breast size. They then rated them out of five for physical attractiveness. And it turned out, men with a lower socio-economic status found larger breasts more appealing than those with a higher socio-economic status.
They then compared breast size ratings in a second experiment which reflected upon the evolutionary perspective of breast size – being that it is a signal of a woman’s ability to bear and nurture a child. But this time, they did it based on a full stomach.
They used 66 hungry male university students, and 55 with satisfied appetites to test whether the security of food had an effect on their preferences, participating as they either entered or exited their campus cafeteria between 6pm and 7pm.
They also only used white males for this study, as ethnicity is known to influence breast size preferences.
Again, they were shown five women with varying sized breasts. And apparently, the hungry males preferred the bigger breasted women more than the satiated men.
A Zimbabwean woman, Sinqobile Sibanda, 25, has told a divorce court that her husband has a “big but useless organ”, hence he fails to fulfil her sexual urge.
Sibanda, who dragged her husband before the court over sexual abuse revealed that her husband, Thando Sengwayo, 29, becomes physically abusive every time they have a dispute.
“Your worship, this man has sexually abused me for a long time. He has big genitals which would make one assume it works to expectations but it’s useless. He is lazy and does one round and a short one for that matter then he sleeps,” complained Sibanda, reports iHarare.
Sengwayo admitted that he abuses his wife but promised to change, he went on to blame his job, which he described as “strenuous and physically demanding.”
“I promise this court that I will refrain from being abusive and try to be a good husband,” he said.
Magistrate Ndumo Masuku ordered Sengwayo not to physically and sexually abuse his wife again. And he granted Sibanda a protection order.

A Nigerian man has taken to his twitter account to advise single ladies not to bother going into a relationship if they do not have a monthly income above Two Hundred Thousand Naira.
In what many have seen as ‘reverse psychology’ the man said the ladies would not be able to cater for the needs of their ‘men’ should they go into a relationship when they earn below that income level.

A group of teenagers said to be terrorising residents of Sapele, Delta state, has been arrested. It was gathered that the two young boys rented an apartment in Gana area of Sapele before the girls whom one of them is dating – started living with them along with her friends.
According to reports, the teenagers specialise in burgling resident’s shops after mastering how to open keys with knife.
Reports also have it that the young suspects operate at night when residents must have gone to sleep.
They were nabbed recently after breaking into a cassette store and were about to begin their operation.
They teenagers were placed in handcuffs as deliberations were made as to what to do to them, whether they should be taken to the police station or released.
A self-confessed homosexual has been arrested by the Bauchi State police for breaking into a house at Rariya Quarters, Bauchi, around 1a.m, to rape an occupant.
According to reports, Ismail Yusuf, 35, sneaked into the house on the 13th of August, 2018, with the intent to rape Haruna Banki. The police were, however, alerted and the suspect was arrested.
Upon interrogation, Ismail voluntarily confessed to the crime and that he has been in the act for very long time.
He was paraded, yesterday, alongside another suspect arrested for being in possession of stolen properties.

A man identified as Friday Uko, a father of seven, was, yesterday, sentenced to death by an Akwa Ibom State High Court, sitting in Ikot Ekpene, for killing his pregnant wife, after Justice Ntong Ntong found him guilty.
He was said to have kicked his three-month-old wife, Patience on 14th August, 2014 at about midnight, because she removed N1000 from his husband pocket and use it to cook food for their seven children (6 girls, 1 boy) the oldest being 10 years old.
Justice Ntong Ntong, expressed concern that a pregnant wife who should have been pampered and cared for, was killed by her own husband.
“The accused pushed her down having known that she was pregnant and that he ought to know that a pregnant woman ought to be pampered and treated with love and not violence.” The Judge ruled.
Justice Ntong added that “This case is straightforward. The accused has told this Court through his extrajudicial statement that he caused the death of his wife. Anyone who unlawfully kills another is entitled to face the law. The accused pushed his wife down with pregnancy and she raised an alarm and died instantly showing the force the accused exerted in pushing her down. I have sworn to interpret the law no matter whose ox is gored.
He found Uko guilty and prayed God to have mercy upon his soul.
The convict, whose lawyer was not present in Court, had pleaded for mercy to enable go and take care of his children.
A young lady broke down in tears when her soldier boyfriend went on one knee and proposed to her with a ring.
The proposal took place in front of the Faculty of Law in Bayero University, Kano. He was reportedly about to leave on an assignment when he popped the question.

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, August 21, and Wednesday, August 22 as public holidays to celebrate the 2018 Eid-el-Kabir.

The Police in Abia State have arrested six suspected homosexuals who were caught kissing and caressing at the City Global Hotel in Aba, the state capital.
Parading the suspected homosexuals before newsmen, the state police commissioner, Anthony Ogbizi, said the hotel manager had alerted the police after two of the homosexuals were found kissing and caressing themselves by the hotel bar. A search in a room where one of them checked in, showed that there were several others in the room caressing and kissing themselves.
According to the police report, the suspects were interrogated and it was discovered that they were members of a gang who came into Abia from nearby states to practise the unnatural act in the hotel room.
The suspects, however, denied committing the crime, saying that they were in Aba for the birthday party of one of their friends, Ndubuisi, adding that their families were not aware that they were arrested.
One of them, Chidera, who is an Imo State University undergraduate, said they were all in one room because they were told that the category of room they asked for was not available.
“I arrived the hotel at about 6pm and I asked my friend to book for a room for me. The hotel management said we should pay N5,000 for a room and we could afford it. So, we decided to manage that one room. After drinking at the hotel bar, we went to the room to change our clothes. It was at that time that we heard a knock on the door and when we opened the door, the manager started asking why we were six in the room. After explaining to him, he said they don’t allow more that three persons in a room and that was how he accused us of practising homosexuality in the room. There was nothing like kissing or making love in the room and we are not gays.”
