Carl Ikeme, former Super Eagles keeper was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia a year ago and had to miss the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia.
He has now revealed his wife’s reaction after he informed her he had cancer.
Ikeme, who is now in remission, said his wife, Saba, was nine months pregnant at the time he was diagnosed with blood cancer and he had to inform her of the sad news even in her fragile state.
“She was the first person I told. I was obviously upset, as you would be after that sort of news,” Ikeme said.
“I was in shock. I got back home and thought: ‘I need to tell Saba.’ I called her and I couldn’t get it out on the phone, but she knew something was up.
“I got back and Saba came in and I told her the news. She was nine months pregnant at the time, due next week. I’ve never seen her cry the way she cried. It was tough.”

Leo and Cee-C have been sparking relationship rumours for a while now, following their lovey dovey appearances at different events.
In an interview with Arise TV yesterday, when asked what the true position of things between herself and Leo, Cee-C gave an insight into what they both share at the moment.
”I will be very honest with you. I think Leo is an amazing guy. He is actually a very great guy. You know we didn’t get to know ourselves in the house but right now what we are doing is that we are getting to know ourselves.
“He is a true friend I have decided to be there for regardless of the situation. You know me, I am a very loyal person. If I say it is you, then it is you. For me outside the house, Leo is the closest. I like him and I want to be there for him”. she said.
On why she posted the acid attack threat mail she received, Cee-C said her aim is to make people who aspire to participate in any reality TV show know that asides the freebies and recognition you would get when you participate in such shows, there is also the ugly side of it where people would talk down at you and even threaten you.
On her quarrel with her former love interest in the house, Tobi, Cee- said she was disappointed when she out of the house to find out that people whom she looked up to as role models, actually wrote an epistle condemning her, forgetting that when people are locked up in a place without any escape for their emotions and all, they are bound to make mistakes.
Ifu Ennada came under fire last night after she penned down what she said was a call for peace between fellow ex-housemates, Cee-C and Alex.
This comes after Cee-C shared a threatening email she received from a troll who vowed to bathe her with acid.
Ifu had insinuated in her post that Cee-C was the one who has been sabotaging all the peace efforts she’s made.
My post as crude as it might be was just a public call for peace.
One that acknowledged the fact that both parties get threats. A post that expressed how unfortunate all this is. Apologies to anyone who felt hurt by it due to their misconception on what I wrote.
We have the capacity to influence our fans. We can’t all be friends, but we can control our people’s action to a certain extent.
Dear Fans, we need your help. You don’t have to like us all equally but we need you to stop this Fan War. Let’s press the reset button and move on.
God forbid, if you succeed in harming any housemate, justice will prevail and you’d get what you deserve, but your favourite housemate will not share your punishment with you.
I’m exhausted from all of this already. Can we all just let love lead? Please.

He asked the bitter Nigerians to take their anger out on politicians who have impoverished their lives.
Read his tweet below:
“To all those planning an acid bath for Cee C, shame on all of you. Your acid shall burn you all first! How can you build up so much rage in your heart from a mere TV show? Channel your pain to our corrupt leaders who have made you all jobless & brought deaths & hardship upon us”

Megabyte came to limelight back in March after a video of his freestyle hit major news platforms.
Patrick Okumu-Ringa, who lost in the recently-concluded Nebbi Municipality Parliamentary election in Uganda, has dismantled all the boreholes he had sunk that have been supplying water to residents for the past twenty years.
Okumu-Ringa, who is said to own huge chunks of land in the municipality, had about 10 boreholes drilled in different wards
The former public service state minister accused the area residents of abusing his generosity by not supporting his bid for MP. The process of dismantling the boreholes started on Monday and was concluded on Wednesday, three days after the election results were announced.
For close to 10 years, Okumu-Ringa was Padyere County MP, but lost the seat to UPC’s late David Ringecan in 2006. Since then, he has tried to make a come-back in other elections in vain. During the NRM primaries, Okumu-Ringa lost to the new entrant, Suleiman Hashim. He, however, chose to run as independent, claiming his defeat during the primaries was as result of rigging.
In the recent election, Okumu-Ringa came third after securing 1,270 votes out the 9,940 total votes cast. He lost to Hashim, who scored 4,283 votes, with FDC’s Robert Onega coming second with 4,159 votes in the highly-billed election.
Okumu-Ringa confirmed to Sunday Vision that he had indeed dismantled the boreholes, adding that he had no regrets for his action. He, however, said at an appropriate time, he would reconcile with residents and assemble the boreholes. ; “I am hurt, but I will reconcile with them. However, for now, let them look for water elsewhere. Our people are not appreciative. All I wanted from them was votes. I have educated so many children, but all they tell me is I have done nothing,” he said.
Asked whether he was hurting the Government he once served, Okumu-Ringa said the Government should instead pay him for supplying free water to citizens. “I don’t think the Government should be offended. I used my money to sink the boreholes, and in any case, even National Water and Sewerage Corporation doesn’t supply free water.

“Wonderful Mummies and Daddies, brothers and Sisters praise His Name for us. It happened in Our own Okigwe, if you wish to visit the Child you are free to come and tap from the Blessings. I call her Ekpere Faith Chisimdiri.”
A Kenyan woman was, on Tuesday, arrested over allegations of refusing to breastfeed her baby. .
The 25-year-old woman identified as Faith Nyokabi, was said to have given the husband an ultimatum to pay her Sh100,000 for her to breastfeed their baby.
Nyokabi is reported to have fled from her matrimonial home over a week ago, leaving the four-month-old baby behind.
Her husband, Charles Kirii, who works as a laborer, said he was informed by neighbours, on August 1, that Nyokabi had left the baby all alone in the house.
Kirii said he tried to convince her to return home, but she claimed that her mother had taken her to a clinic where she was injected with a drug to dry out her breast milk, reports Citizen TV.
He later decided to seek help from the authorities. Nyokabi will soon be charged to court for child neglect and denying the child protection and care, contrary to the Children’s Act.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu was ordained as an RCCG Assistant Pastor today.
Daddy Freeze has now likened the ordination to a quote in Animal Farm.
Sharing a photo from the ordination on his Instagram page, he wrote:
It is well…. I am happy for them. – I just read animal farm again and I don’t seem to understand what George Orwell was trying to say here, can someone please explain? – “The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.” ~George Orwell, Animal Farm”
Cee-C had earlier today shared an email she received from someone claiming to be an Alex fan, that threatened to bathe her with acid anytime their paths cross.
Now, fellow housemate, Princess has reacted to Cee-c acid threat, saying it should be reported to law enforcement agencies and not publicised on social media.
She wrote:
Get over this bad blood already !!!! First of all” IF “this is an actual threat and not a publicity stunt it should be sent to the law enforcement agencies and not social media.
Because publicizing such threat in such an aloof manner would only fuel more imaginations of how best to carry out the plot
The fans of both parties are taking this way too seriously. Bbn 3 is a “term”that covers 20 housemates. And this constant aggression only keeps us in constant negativity and defense. @alex_unusual @ceec_official pls advice your fans. Better still make peace if there is any squabble
Before this gets out of control and unleashes more contempt.
Now, fellow housemate, Ifu Ennada has weighed in, calling for peace between the two ladies. According to her, they mustn’t be best friends but they should at least respect each other and call their fans to order.
Sharing a collage of the both of them, Ifu Ennada wrote:
It’s unfortunate we’ve gotten to this point where people get acid bath threats.
Sometime in Port Harcourt, about 2 months ago, a CeeC fan verbally and physically attacked Alex. It was so bad that Alex was going to damn the public eyes watching and retaliate, but for intervention from Rico, myself and Naomi – Alex’s manager who stopped her.
I spoke with CeeC to speak out to her fans but she didn’t. I also spoke to her about the possibility of making peace with Alex. Alex had told me how CeeC ignored her greeting with Rico being a witness, I asked CeeC about this, but she dismissed it.
A lot of times, Big Brother fans have written me, asking me to make peace between these ladies. I hope you all see how I tried to intervene in the past.
NO DRAMA IS WORTH THE UGLINESS THAT COULD ERUPT FROM THIS ENDLESS FAN WARS.
We all don’t have to be friends, but we should all have respect for each other.
Respect to call our fans to order; one that sees us value each other’s lives over drama and trending on Instagram in the name of bullshit.
Countless times Alex and Tobi have gotten death threats from CeeC fans. They all up in their DM. While they choose to ignore these, it’s not OK.
During Swanky Jerry’s party at the club, some people who identified themselves as CeeC’s fans confronted Alex physically, spat on the floor several times and told her they don’t like her. She called me and spoke about this experience, but I asked her to stay calm.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
I know CeeC might experience some measure of attack from crazy fans, this acid bath threat being the recent. All these can be curbed if there’s peace.
Alex and CeeC please make up already! Let the public know you’re cool. Discourage your fans from this war that is gradually brewing.
United, we can make exploits! The other day in our group I wrote about the business possibility we could explore together and the greatness that could be ours.
Let us remember our Big Brother days when we worked as a group and won our Thursday tasks.
We have what it takes to collectively be the most successful Big Brother Housemates ever!
Iceberg Slim is celebrating his birthday today and Juliet Ibrahim sent him a birthday message, even though most think the message is too simple and casual.
Juliet took to her Instagram page where she posted a photo of Iceberg Slim on her Instagram stories.
She captioned it simply with the quote: “Happy Birthday @icebergslim.”
Lovers and fans of Iceberg Slim and Juliet Ibrahim’s once admired relationship would know that if things were still alright, this would certainly not be the kind of birthday wish we would be seeing on social media.
A report from Facebook is currently making the rounds online and it is about an alleged Police shenanigan that culminated in the fatal shooting of a civilian.

Beyonce and Rihanna both landed the September issue cover on separate editions of Vogue.
Rihanna on the British Vogue, while Beyonce was on the American Vogue.
This left fans drawing comparisons between their covers when both women sported elaborate floral arrangement hats for their photo shoots.
Instead of a standard flower crown, Rihanna and Beyoncé graced the iconic issues wearing huge hats with blooming peonies, roses, orchids and more gorgeous flowers.
Hours after Beyoncé’s cover dropped, the Twitterverse started comparing the singer’s cover to Rihanna’s British Vogue cover which debuted last week.

The troll alleged that Cee-C pays people to troll both Alex and Tobi, Inspite of the fact that Tobi has moved on from her.
Well, her ‘fresh air’ and alleged love interest, Leo has spoken on the issue and he has this to say to the troll;
“You’re threatening child of grace in Lagos where one of her allies is a true Lagosian.”

Cardi B, who just welcomed her first child weeks ago, has revealed she’s suffering from postpartum depression.
The 25-year-old rapper said she was left feeling emotional for no reason.
The Bodak Yellow hitmaker wrote:
This postpartum sh*t is annoying. Like I been emotional all fucking day for no reason.
“She previously told fans: “I wish I could show you my face but a bitch look f***ed up in the game! Like, my hair’s f***ed up. My eyes are so dark and puffy. Like, I’m wild pale like a bitch looking like she got jaundice. But I just really want to say thank you to everybody … I’m just been so busy and so tired and in like a different world, a different dimension – I like it like that. It’s doing so good…”
“Let me get back to this mommy thing. Let me tell y’all something. No matter how many books y’all read, advice y’all get, y’all will never be ready for mommy mode.
Cardi is not the only ‘celebrity mother’ suffering postpartum depression’ as Lawn Tennis superstar, Serena williams also revealed she still suffers it.
She made this revelation just one week after she was handed the worst defeat of her career during the opening match of the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic.
In an emotional Instagram post Monday, the mother of Alexis Olympia Ohanian revealed she was in a bit of a “funk” last week, and this was because, lately, she has been guilted by the feeling that she has not been a good mum to her daughter.
