Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins is a Nigerian footballer who plays as a forward for Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.
He is renowned for his speed on the ball. After leaving Nigeria for Italy at age 16, he has since played for a number of top-division clubs around Europe. He began his senior career in 2002 at the Italian Serie A club Inter Milan, before moving to the English Premier League club Newcastle in 2006, and then the German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg in 2009. Having joined Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan in July 2010, they loaned him to Birmingham City in January 2011.
In club football, Martins has won the Italian Serie A title, the Italian Cup (twice), and the Italian Super Cup, all with Inter. Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode arrived Russia last night for the World Cup finals between France and Croatia, and one of highlights of his arrival was that he pledged to help send Nigerians stuck in the country home.
Recall that we brought you reports about how over 300 Nigerians are stranded in Russia. Apparently, they came in to the country for the World Cup games, in hopes to find jobs in Moscow, but got disappointed.
Instagram user @iampndgreat who disclosed the promise made by Governor Ambode in his post, wrote; “Not a Political Campaign but just appreciating a good and kind gesture by one of our noble Politicians in Nigeria.”
The story goes thus:
I had a pick up arrangement today at the airport in Moscow and had a rare privilege of meeting his excellency, the governor of Lagos State; the most populous and commercial Hub of Nigeria. I quickly introduced myself while I waited for my pick up arrangement to come out. We had a small chat and exchanged knowledge and wisdom while I waited.
He bade me farewell as his pick up arrangement had arrived.
After a few minutes, my pick up arrived as well so we set out to the car park.
As soon as we came out of the airport, I saw a crowd of over 50 Nigerians who had been stranded at the airport for almost 10-15 days now. And in their middle was this same man, His excellency , Governor Ambode. As soon as he sighted me, he quickly called my attention to assist.
It was a pathetic state and a lot of words both pleasant and unpleasant were being exchanged. (Not apportioning blames on anyone ).. Then his Excellency did something that amazed me. He showed solidarity and quickly pledged to send all 50 Stranded Nigerians home and assigned me to oversea the transfers and procurement of new tickets to send them home. As I type this, 19 out of this 50 are already on air to Lagos Nigeria, the remaining 31 are leaving this evening.
His excellency also fed them all as he gave them cash to eat while they waited for their tickets to fly home.
I am only writing this to express my gratitude to a man that has shown that not all politicians are the same.
I am well aware that NFF Officials and some other Senior Government or well to do Nigerians are aware of the situation on ground but are yet to be of help.
Kindly help as much as you can.
Nigeria will only be built or destroyed by Nigerians.
The integrity of our Nation is at stake. Follow this same example; If you have the well withal.

Zone 2 Police PRO Dolapo Badmos has reacted to the viral video of some Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) officers brutalising a man with an iron rod while trying to take him into custody.
Badmos, writing on her Instagram page said:

A Thai woman has reportedly cut off her husband’s manhood because he cheated on her.
According to reports, the jealous wife from Bangkok, Thailand, used a 12-inch butcher knife to cut off her husband’s manhood. After cutting it, she threw it out the window.
Neighbours, who heard the husband’s screams for help, called an ambulance, which rushed him to the hospital.

In a video of the incident uploaded to the Internet, the husband, 40-year-old Siripan Sanusan, could be seen being rushed to a hospital. Emergency workers were able to find his organ on the street and they took it along to the hospital after placing it in ice.

Meanwhile, his 24-year-old wife, Karuna Sanusan, was arrested for carrying out the bloody attack. Police said that the woman admitted to planning the attack.

One morning, she pretended that she wanted to be intimate with him only to cut off his organ when he became distracted.

Mother of Wizkid’s second son, Ayo, Binta Diamond has revealed that she would turn down a chance to give birth to another child for the him.

A man has sadly lost his life after his mother’s coffin fell from a funeral tower and crushed him during a service in Indonesia.
The Indonesian man was killed by his mother’s coffin on the island of Sulawesi.
Samen Kondorura, 40, died when pallbearers lost their footing carrying the coffin up a bamboo ladder in North Toraja District.
According to Daily Mail UK, the casket fell as the group hoisted it onto an ornately carved tower where the dead are placed before elaborate traditional funeral rites.

Julianto Sirait, Chief Commissioner of the Tana Toraja resort police, spoke about the incident with told AFP, he said;
“As the mother’s coffin was being raised to the lakkian, suddenly the ladder shifted and collapsed, the coffin fell and hit the victim,”
A video making the round on the Internet shows the ladder slip just as the casket enters the tower, sending the men tumbling several metres to the ground where the victim is crushed by the coffin. Horrified onlookers rush to the men’s aid but Kondorura died later in hospital.
Sirait said the accident happened because the ladder was not properly reinforced but the family has declined to press charges. The body of the victim is now resting alongside his mother Berta, he added.
YG, the rapper behind the song ‘F**k Trump’, has been arrested in Las Vegas after allegedly stealing a piece of jewellery.
The California rapper, is on a felony robbery charge after allegedly stealing a gold chain from a fan’s neck and taking off with the diamond-laced pendant at a Las Vegas casino.
The 28-year-old rapper whose real is Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson was in a Vegas court Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest and he turned himself in. He was charged with felony robbery and he was released after posting $20k bail.

The incident reportedly occurred in late May at the Cosmopolitan around 4 AM, after a man approached YG and asked for a photo with him but was turned away by his crew.
It was also alleged that the dejected fan called YG a fake celebrity, in retaliation, YG instructed his crew to “Get him,” before yanking the chain and a diamond-laced pendant from his neck. The incident was captured in the casino’s surveillance footage.
The alleged victim is also suing YG, claiming that his crew pounced on him before he took his jewelry valued somewhere between $3,000 and $9,000. The man wants at least $250k in compensation.
