Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus has reacted to the recent deaths of Young Ladies who were apparently, victims of unfortunate circumstances caused by their boyfriends.

The family of 17-year-old Blessing Udoye has condemned the alleged wedding between her and a man they called, ‘stranger’; which was officiated by a pastor of Fishers of Men Charismatic Church, Isiokpo, Imo State.
The family alleged that the pastor ordered Blessing not to notify her family members of the wedding until after the marriage.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the wedding took place at the church’s auditorium on Sunday without any of her family members in attendance.
Blessing’s brother, Raphael Udoye, who spoke to our correspondent on the telephone, said he got information about the wedding two weeks ago through his sister’s friend, adding that he discarded it.
He added that when another friend accused him of not inviting him for Blessing’s wedding and produced the invitation card, he decided to ask his sister about it.
He said, “When I got home, I called my sister (Blessing) and asked her about the alleged wedding and she said if I wanted to know I should come to her church for details.
“I was shocked because this is the girl I paid her Senior School Certificate Examination fee.
“She did not get good grades and I am still trying to persuade her to sit for another exam when it is time or learn a trade. I did not know what she wants is to get married to a stranger.
“I called my other siblings to ask if they were aware of any wedding, but they all denied knowledge of it.
“When my father got back, I asked him and he was shocked and angry that he summoned my sister to the sitting room where he asked her about the wedding.
“She said it was her pastor that said she should not inform her family members, adding that she met the man at one their church’s retreat in Benin.”
Raphael, who claimed that investigation showed that the pastor had planned the wedding for about six months ago, said his father visited the pastor and confronted him.
He added that the pastor, who did not feel remorseful for his act, said the church had fixed the wedding date and it could not be changed.
The Imo State indigene, who noted that Blessing left home days before the wedding, said her phone number had been switched off and her whereabouts was unknown.
Raphael, who described the wedding as a taboo, said the family did not accept the husband as their in-law.
He added that the family wanted Blessing to go back to school or learn a trade.
He said,
“I don’t want my sister to get married now, I want her to go back to school; she is still young.
“But if she wants to get married, her husband should come in a rightful manner and ask for her hand in marriage.”

The Managing Director of Ecobank Nigeria, Charles Kie has announced his resignation from the bank.
His resignation has received mixed feelings as some people suggest that there is more that meets the eye with the sudden move.
According to Mr. Kie:
“I am proud of what the team and I have achieved together, and I thank them for the good work and their unwavering commitment to Ecobank.
“I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Board. Despite some of the market challenges that we faced over the years, our customers have always been loyal, and it is their patronage that makes the future brighter.”
“The Chairman of the Board of Ecobank Nigeria, Mr John Aboh, also congratulated Mr Kie for the good work he and his team has achieved, and said he looked forward to the Bank sustaining and improving on this.
“The Board will immediately activate the process of selecting a successor.
“The successful candidate will be announced before the end of August. Mr Kie will continue to manage Ecobank Nigeria through the transition period to ensure a smooth handover to his successor.”
A press release by the Bank today on the said issue reads:

The body of a dead teenager, Renard Matthews, was dressed and propped up in a chair while surrounded by his favourite snacks for a bizarre memorial service held by his family.

A 26-year-old lady identified as Bunmi Adebayo, has said the desperation to have a baby after 10 years of marriage, made her steal a three-week old baby.
She allegedly stole the baby named David Oluwaseun, on Sunday July 1, 2018.
According to Punchng, the suspect, who resided in Magboro, Ogun State, was arrested on Saturday at Orile Imo.
Parading the suspect on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said “the suspect took her desperation too far.”
He said the suspect had lied to her husband, who used to visit her at her abode at intervals, that she was pregnant. And after nine months, Iliyasu, said, the suspect called her husband and broke the news that she had been delivered of a baby boy.
The news, he added gladdened the heart of the husband, Gbenga Adebayo, who rushed down to her residence. But, he was said to have become curious when he demanded for the placenta and the suspect was unable to present it.
Iliyasu explained further that when the husband asked her to breastfeed the baby in his presence, she was unable to do so. Having realised the curiosity of her husband, she was said to have absconded from the home, and her husband had to report to the Police that his wife was missing.
The Police search team caught up with her at Orile Imo, where she was arrested and the baby was rescued.

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr. Adedamola Kuti, said on Tuesday that consultations had begun for the closure of the Third Mainland Bridge for repairs.
Kuti told the News Agency of Nigeria that the ministry of works was going to hold a meeting with stakeholders on Wednesday to discuss how to manage traffic during the repairs.
He, however, did not specify the exact date the bridge would be closed to traffic or how long the repair works would last.
According to him, stakeholders attending the meeting to discuss the repairs include traffic regulatory agencies, transport unions, truck owners, drivers’ unions, and law enforcement agents, among others.
“The Federal Executive Council has approved the maintenance work on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State.
“The project has taken off already and in carrying out the work, we may, at certain times, be shutting down the bridge for maintenance.
“At the moment, we may begin with tests on the bridge; so, we may shut it by 12 midnight on Thursday and carry out tests and some repairs and open it to traffic by midnight on Sunday.’’
He said that six other damaged bridges across the state were already undergoing maintenance and rehabilitation.
“We have contracts on maintenance of some of the bridges in Lagos. We are completing maintenance work on the expansion joints on the Coconut Bridge.
“We expecting the contractor to start work on the Independence Bridge in Lagos.
“There is repair work going on currently on the Apapa Bridge, that is, Ijora/Leventis Bridge.
“Maintenance work is ongoing on the Ijora-7up Bridge. We are also changing the expansion joints.
“On the bridge around the National Stadium area, we are putting covers to all the stolen manholes, we are replacing the steel covers from Sstadium to Costain,” he said.
The controller said that some tests had been carried out on the Otedola Bridge, whose surface was recently burnt during a tanker fire.
Kuti said that the tests revealed that the bridge was safe for use and that the contractors would soon attend to the bridge.

A 23-year-old student of Uganda Christian University (UCU) has pleaded guilty before Buganda Road court, to broadcasting pornographic material.
Lilian Rukundo is said to have uploaded on the internet a video of herself, while masturbating.
The student was charged with 10 counts before being convicted on her own plea of guilty.
According to media reports, Lillian was remanded in prison where she will stay until Friday this week to give court a chance to watch videos before judgment.
Prosecutions claims that Rukundo in 2017 while in her hostel in Mukono District produced a video of herself masturbating and shared it through social media for purposes of sexually arousing whoever watched it.
The prosecuting officer said:
“We came across the video of the accused in 2017 and our team swung into action immediately after which she was arrested and questioned. She admitted making the pornographic video and then distributing it on Facebook for the view of the public”
She has been charged with 10 counts of broadcasting pornographic material. Rukundo also pleaded guilty to publishing pictures of her naked body from the breast to the knees.

Ognjen Vukojevic has been sacked from his position as Croatia coach ahead of the team’s semi final game against England at the ongoing Russia 2018 world cup.
Vukojevic was sacked for posting a politically-charged video on social media following the penalty shootout win over hosts Russia. In the video, he and defender Domagoj Vida dedicated the dramatic win to Ukraine, prompting criticism from Russian supporters.
The clip showed Vida, who scored in extra time at the Fisht Stadium, roaring “Glory to Ukraine!” while Vukojevic announced that “This victory is for Dynamo [Kiev] and Ukraine.”
“The Croatian Football Federation hereby notifies the public that Ognjen Vukojevic has been relieved of his duties as an associate of the coaching staff of the Croatian national team by decision of the management of the Croatian FA, and that he will no longer be a member of the Croatian delegation at the Fifa World Cup in Russia,” a statement read.
“The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has decided to revoke Vukojevic’s team accreditation at the Fifa World Cup and to relieve him of his duties as an observer for the Croatian national team.

Real Madrid have announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club in favour of continuing his career with Serie A side Juventus.
The Serie A champions swooped to sign the Portugal captain, after he indicated that he was considering leaving Madrid after their Champions League final win in May.
On Tuesday, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli flew from Pisa to Greece to meet Ronaldo, who is on holiday there, and his agent Jorge Mendes arrived later to join them.
And Madrid have since confirmed that they have allowed him to make the move to Turin.
“Real Madrid CF communicates that, in response to the will and request expressed by the player Cristiano Ronaldo, he has agreed to transfer to Juventus FC.”
Ronaldo, 33, reached global superstar status after becoming the world’s most expensive player when he joined Madrid from Manchester United in 2009.
During his nine-year spell at the Santiago Bernabeu, Ronaldo won 15 trophies, including two La Liga titles and two Copa del Rey crowns.

The statement said the body of benchers is yet to formally decide on any change to the mode of dress code for call to Bar as this has generated much controversy in the legal community.
“The Body of Benchers is yet to consider the report of the committee chaired by Belgore JSC as the said report is not yet ready or ripe for consideration.
However in view of the imminent Call to Bar ceremonies in July 2018 and Miss Fidaus Amasa’s petition, a position was taken on the applicant’s current petition on the subject. It was decided that :
– the applicant was indeed rude and impolite to a former CJN Belgore JSC who had intervened at the Call ceremonies but rebuffed by the applicant, and therefore must tender a written apology.
It was recognized that moslem Judges while sitting wear only head scarf to cover their hair and not partial face covering of any sort, as exhibited by the applicant’s attire.
If she will be called therefore, she cannot use more than the hair covering scarf, similar to what female Judges from lower courts to Supreme Court use.
So the reprieve is conditional on the above limitations, not a blanket approval as falsely being circulated,” the statement said.
A twitter user has shared the sad story of a Woman who died due to child birth complications but it was after she refused the doctor’s advice to undergo cesarean delivery (surgery) for her safety and that of her twin babies.
The sad part of the story is that the couple reportedly waited for 19 years before she’d finally get pregnant with twins.

12 members of a Thai youth football team and their coach trapped in a flooded cave have been rescued.
After days of rescue attempts, the final four boys remaining in the cave with their coach were all saved today after more than 2 weeks of being trapped underground. They have now been ferried to a hospital in the city of Chiang Rai.

The Thai navy Seal unit made the announcement on its official Facebook page, writing: “The 12 Wild Boars and coach have emerged from the cave and they are safe. Hooyah.”
The “Wild Boars” soccer team, consisting of boys aged between 11 and 16, and their coach got trapped on 23 June while exploring the cave complex in the northern province of Chiang Rai after soccer practice and a rainy season downpour flooded the tunnels. They were not found until last week after which rescue operations immediately began. Sadly, one of the rescuers died during the rescue mission.

Now this was everyday of my life, she wanted to go do her thing after she got a green card from me, she wanted to go get her own job place and live her life, I said so now you got a green card is time to leave so you never came for marriage you came to use me, she said she wants to work and help her family in Nigeria and that’s all that matters at this point, I was like fine, I came home on March 14th my kids and herself were gone, I called I said where are my kids she didn’t say anything, for 3 months I didn’t see my children this evil woman just took them away from me it wasn’t until I went and filed for divorce that she brought them back, now go back to this video this was her plan to get me to hit her but as you can see I kept my cool, I also found out she was already cheating and sleeping with another man while married the same guy that beat her up and kicked her and my children out her apartment at night the same pics she put up on the Nigerian blogs and said I did it, you see this woman lies for a reason, a user and has no conscience whatsoever, the green card she has I gave her, she’s still driving my bmw till this day, she’s still under my health insurance and car insurance, you would think she would be thankful but She’s just a ruthless evil person, so she looked for a story to tell people why she left her marriage.
Instead of telling the truth she cooked up lies about domestic violence and said to me you know Nigerian people will believe me you have a mean face and tattoos you fit the description this is what she said when she couldn’t get me to hit me or do something crazy, instead of telling the truth that she was cheating in her marriage and left to go work cause she wanted to be on her own like she said her goal in life is to have kids by a handsome man and then go do her thing cause she can’t live under a man, then tell the truth.
Instead she goes starts making up shit with these Nigerian bloggers they keep writing shit without caring about the truth. The first time this happened was two months after the traditional wedding this woman ran cause my dredging business in Nigeria slowed down things got hard she thought I didn’t have money and ran and then after about two years she saw I was doing good she called me, begged to get back I was like what the hell I’ll take her back afterall I already did the traditional marriage she begged me not to tell anyone that she asked to get back with me I kept it a secret .
I was thinking family she was thinking using me for a green card, kids and living here, her health insurance is under me, car insurance me, she still drives my bmw I mean even the job she has is my connects her whole existence here is me.
Anyway so after she ran the first time she did this same shit went to the Nigerian blog and said my husband was maltreating and beating me everyday shaking my damn head!!!!! I read that I was like wow what a devil, I never touched this woman instead of her to tell people the truth that she left thinking I didn’t have money. Lies lies lies, deceit and more lies is what this woman does, now think if I bruised and beat her up as she claims why aren’t I in jail? That looks like felony beating I will still be behind bars, do you people even use your senses sometimes? Remember this is America shit like that doesn’t fly here

A recent clip currently going viral on social media shows some female fans fighting to take a picture with BBNaija 2018 ex-housemate, Teddy A.
It was obvious that it was just another day in the life of an alpha male as Teddy A kept his cool while the ladies scuffled to take a picture with the him.
BBNaija 2018 winner, Miracle Igbokwe posted a video of him meeting with the Ooni of Ife, few days after Davido had visited the monarch.
However unlike Davido who prostrated on the floor to greet the king in the Yoruba fashion, Miracle did not, leading to a heated argument among his fans, some of who called him out for being ‘disrespectful’.
Some of his followers have criticized him widely in his comment section.
“When in Rome, behave like the Romans. “Igbos don’t kneel for anybody” yen yen yen. Then he should have stayed at home and not visited an Oba. I like Miracle but it takes nothing out of him to kneel for the Oba like he should.
