President Buhari’s daughter, Zahra Buhari has welcomed a baby boy with her husband, Ahmed Indimi in Spain.
The couple welcomed the child yesterday July 9, in a Spanish hospital and both mother and child are reportedly in stable condition.
Zahra Buhari is welcoming her first child with her husband, two years after they tied the knot in December 2016, in a lavish wedding ceremony and series of celebrations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and Maiduguri, Borno state that attracted dignitaries and political allies of her father from far and wide.
The latest mother is the daughter of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the president of Nigeria and his second wife, Aisha Buhari. So, President Muhammadu Buhari is the lastest Grandpa in town.
Ahmed Indimi on the other hand, is the son of one of the richest entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Mohammed Indimi, who is the founder and chairman of Oriental Energy company. Indimi comes from a big family — he has 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Ahmed attended the American InterContinental University, Atlanta, United States of America. He has a degree in IT and currently working as the head of oil marketing department at his father’s company, Oriental Energy.
Award-winning novelist and feminist icon, Chimamanda Adichie says she feels sorry for men because they can’t experience the benefits that come with being a mother.
In an interview with Vulture, Adichie opened up about what having a child meant to her and the impact it had on her art.
“I used to think I wouldn’t be a good mother because I was so dedicated to my art,” the ‘Americanah’ writer said.
“I said to myself, I have nephews and nieces who I adore, and I helped raise them, so those will be my children. That’s what I thought for a long time, because I felt that I couldn’t be true to both my art and my child.
“Getting older. I like to joke and say that you’re ready [to have a child] when your body isn’t ready, and when your body is ready, you’re not mentally ready.
“I guess you have the best eggs when you’re, like, 22, but at 22 you don’t even know yourself.
“Then when you’re 38 and know yourself, your eggs are not the best quality. Anyway, we’ll talk about eggs another time.”
Adichie explained that having a child interrupts her writing to an extent but also opens up a new range of emotions that can inspire art which men can’t experience.
“But my baby happened, and it’s important to talk honestly about this, because having her changed a lot,” she said.
“Having a child gets in the way of writing. It does. You can’t own your time the way you used to.
“But the other thing that motherhood does — and I kind of feel sorry for men that they can’t have this — is open up a new emotional plane that can feed your art.”
Photo showing the room where the boyfriend and suspected killer of Miss Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of the ex-Governor of Ondo State buried her beneath his bed has emerged.
20-year-old Khadijat, a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, was found dead in her boyfriend’s house six days after she went missing from school. She was found buried in a shallow grave in Adeyemi’s room.
According to reports, Adeyemi, popularly known as QS, had killed her for ritual purposes then he dug a grave in the room, buried the deceased in it, and placed his mattress on the shallow grave.
It was reported that the Herbalist who did the money ritual for Adeyemi, currently at large, instructed him to keep the corpse for seven days, but luck ran out on the Abuja-based boyfriend when his younger brother became aware of what was going on and reported the incident to the police in Akure before the seven days was up.
Confirming the arrest, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph said the suspected killer was arrested by a team of detectives from the police Criminal Investigations Department (CID). The PPRO said Adeyemi, who was already in the police custody, had been cooperating with the police with relevant information on the circumstances that led to the death of Khadijat Oluboyo.
A Facebook user, identified as Chinenye Sylva has shared the story of a lady who welcomed a set of twins early this year after 12 years of marriage and now has another baby 3 months after the twins arrived.
She recounted how her Aunt always complained of her ‘protruded’ stomach which refused to go down after the Twins birth.

In her new post, Chinenye Sylva disclosed that she has never witnessed such incident all her life:
“Cheiiiiiiiiiiii….. remeber when i shared the first picture of my aunty that gave birth to twins after 12years of marriage… just yesterday another baby came from same stomach… 3months after… she always complain of her stomach growing instead of going down after giving brith to the twins not knowing that one child is still remaining there. And the baby boy came forth yesterday which is the 2nd picture. People this is three months after”.
“Since i was born and now am getting old, i have not seen this type of miracle… that is why i call him jehovah overdo, omalichachukwu, odogwu, ome ihe nyiri mmadu na omumw, onye ana akpo otu oku oza ugboro iri. Friends pls call him names, and rejoice with me. So my aunty have triplet. 2boys and a girls…12yrs after marriage in a miraculous way”.
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka clinic has been accused by a Twitter user, identified as @Emmuskillful of administering expired saline drip on his younger brother which almost led to his death.
Posting photos of the pack of expired drip, he wrote:
”University of Nigeria Nsukka(UNN) is trash… My younger brother almost died in their clinic after they gave him 8packs of expired saline drip. This is not OK… Gambling with people’s lives. Please someone should do something.”

The Action Peoples Party, APP, has filed a suit before the Federal High Court, Abuja, demanding the sack of the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.
Listed as defendants in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/714/2018 were President Muhammadu Buhari; the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission.
The APP did not only pray for the removal of the minister, but also for an order directing her to refund the salaries she had received since 2015 when she was appointed as a minister and another order compelling the Federal Government to prosecute her.
The party, through its lawyer, Kingdom Okere, asked the court to, among others, declare that Adeosun “is not qualified to be appointed a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or into any other public office, having not participated in the compulsory one-year National Youth Service scheme, in view of the combined provisions of sections 11, 12,13 and 17 of the National Youth Service Act. ”
The political party also prayed the court to declare that Adeosun “is not a fit and proper person to continue to occupy the office she presently occupies having presented a fake NYSC exemption certificate and made a false, untrue and misleading statement /representation material to the National Youth Service Corps; and having breached her oath of office to uphold and defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).”
It, therefore, prayed for a consequential order directing President Buhari “who claims that his administration is fighting corruption to immediately sack or suspend Mrs Kemi Adeosun as the Minister of Finance pending investigation and her prosecution for forgery and perjury.”The party also prayed for an order compelling “the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice and the Independent
Corrupt Practices and other related Commission, to immediately arrest and investigate the allegation of fake National Youth Service Corps exemption certificate against Mrs Kemi Adeosun; and to immediately prefer a criminal charge against Mrs Kemi Adeosun for the offence of perjury, forgery, false , misleading and untrue information in relation to her fake National Youth Service certificate of exemption.”

A young Nigerian man, Paul Kpema, has narrated his sad experience after losing his leg following an accident which happened to him at a police checkpoint in Delta state.
Mr, Paul Kpema, who is a gospel instrumentalist, an Itsekiri by tribe, was booked to perform in a program at Otefe Oghara of Delta state before the unfortunate incident and accident befell him while trying to sort out the police officers.
Below is his story:
“We packed our musical instruments and we were heading to Otefe that day, I was to perform in a program that day, Just before the bridge connecting Mosogar to Oghara, police officers flagged down the bus we boarded, but being that the commercial driver knew one of the police men, he made a sign to him that he will see them on his return
But as he drove on, he observed that the team of police officers were chasing us with their hilux van, so the driver packed and the police officers alighted from their van and approached us. They now requested for the documents of the bus, but the driver told them it has expired, as usual you know our Nigerian Police, they requested for N10,000 before they can let us go.
The driver said he has no money on him, so they ordered myself and the conductor down and asked one of their Colleague to enter the bus and instructed the driver to reverse the bus, that they are arresting the bus, so the driver did as he was told, he drove on and crossed the bridge, then reversed as if he was coming back to Sapele and was told to park opposite where we were standing.
Seeing that there was no headway, I volunteered to offer them N3000, because I was getting late already for the program, myself and the conductor crossed the road to meet them were they parked, while I was bringing out the money from my pocket standing at the back of our own bus a car that lost control while trying to overtake a trailer in full speed came and hit my two legs, on the spot my right leg cut off from my body, before I knew it I saw myself at Delta State University Teaching Hospital Oghara (DELSUTH)

Over 50 Nigerian students are being wrongly detained in police stations in Cotonou, the Republic of Benin’s commercial capital, their parents claimed yesterday.
They alleged that their children were unlawfully arrested by Béninoise police and kept in inhuman conditions – some since a week ago – without being told their offences or charged to court.
According to them, 50 others were arrested, tried and jailed without their families’ knowledge.
In a July 9 petition made available to The Nation, the distraught parents sought President Muham-madu Buhari’s intervention through his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Diaspora affairs, Hon. Abike Dabiri– Erewa.
Their representative, Mr Femi Akinwande, said the Béninoise police had been picking up any Nigerian student with a white person’s picture, a Google code, or any internet-related item on his phone.
Many of the students, he claimed, were being held at a police station in Gendarmerie Ablangadan, Cotonou.
He listed some of their names as: Matthew Longgapp, Bayo Ridwan Oyenuga, Tari Ibori, Samuel Akinwande, Dunchi Daniel Dennis, Steven Porobunu, Chukwudi Ezeanyom Valentine, Peter Ochani, David Nicholas Esu, Michael Porobunu, Emmanuel Chukwuneke, Tomi Ogunleye and Jacob Oluwatobi
Akinwande, the Managing Director (MD) of FEMAK Markalyn Nigeria Ltd, said his son, Samuel Akinwande, alias Pastor, a 400-level Computer Engineering Student at the Houdegbe Northern American University, Cotonou, was arrested seven days ago, without charge.
According to him, the intervention of Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin had failed to resolve his son, or any other Nigerian student’s plight.
According to Akinwande the arrests which had been going on “for some time” began following the country’s enactment of a law “banning any form of gangsterism, cultism, hooliganism, Yahoo-Yahoo and Badoo activities.
“As a result of this, the Police swung into action arresting both culprits and non-offenders as long as they are Nigerians.
The police, he said, arrested his son during his siesta along with 12 others.
Akinwande said: “He was rudely woken up to be arrested. On getting to the police station, a police officer told me that they had to arrest people irrespective of what they were doing.
“Another police officer confirmed to me that over 50 Nigerians are still in custody not knowing what fate will befall their future, let alone told me what their exact offences were. 50 others were said to have been judged already and serving their jail terms without their families being aware.
“At the police station, the officers also said that they would arrest any student, who, on collecting their phones or laptops, they find a white person’s picture, a Google code, or any internet-related item, that will make them to consider such students guilty. In fact, some of the students are already slated to appear in court on Tuesday, July 10th 2018.
“The officer said they were forced to act in haste given that Nigerians are vaster in knowledge than them. It is also common knowledge that they are not as computer literate as Nigerians, given that it takes about four days after arrest for them to decipher what they found in the phones or laptops of those arrested.
“Yet, the situation persists. Some of the arrested students spoken to by their parents attested that the indiscriminate detentions were stated clearly by the police in their reports. Even the police confirmed it.”
He urged Mrs Dabiri-Erewa, to, on behalf of all the parents, intervene “so that our wrongly arrested children and students can get released to continue their education.

A 2-man robbery gang has been smashed by the Lagos State police, for using a tricycle as operational vehicle to dispossess their victims, while posing as genuine transporters.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, when people board the suspect’s tricycle, they take them to an isolated place and rob them of valuable items.
The police boss disclosed that another gang of robbers who specializes in breaking into people’s cars by means of a chemical agent which they pour on the window glass or windscreens to gain access into the car were also nabbed.
The suspects include Teslem Abiodun(male) and Kazeem Akolade (male) and the exhibit recovered from the suspects include eight laptop computers.
The CP assured that suspect would be charged to court as soon as the investigation was concluded
Confessing to the crime, Monsuru and Jamiu said that the Tricycle with which they use for the operation was given out to one of their friends on hire purchase basis, adding that they decided to use it for robbery operations because they believed it will earn them more money.
They said that they have used it to rob passengers on several occasions particularly at the boundary axis of Ajegunle.
According to the suspects, the female member Queen Victor does not go with them during operations but receives the phones they rob and sponsors them for operations if they did not have money.
Prince Louis, the third child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was christened at Chapel Royal at St. James’ Palace, London yesterday.
Certain members of the Royal family were present at the ceremony alongside other close family and friends.

A Nigerian lady was arrested by the Kolkata unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Kolkata, India, after she concealed LSD blots and cocaine in her private parts.
David Blessing, 30, was intercepted the moment she landed in Kolkata from Mumbai at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at around 9.20 PM on Monday.
Speaking to News18, NCB Kolkata Zonal Head Dilip Kumar Srivastava said:
“We had prior information about the lady and accordingly planned our arrest operation. Last night our officers got a lead that she was arriving from Mumbai-Kolkata Jet Airways flight. We rushed there and intercepted her.
“During the search, our lady officers found only 20 LSD blots from her bag. But later she took out 12 grams of Cocaine from her private parts.
“She was having pain in her lower abdomen and revealed that more contraband substances were concealed inside her vagina.
“We immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital where her trans-vaginal USG report confirmed our hunch.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that Blessing was staying in Mumbai for the last two years on business visa and the consignment seized from her possession was meant for a person in Kolkata.
“We have a few more leads and we will interrogate her once she will be released from the hospital. It seems that she is a part of international drug racket,” Srivastava said.

Oluwadara Adedayo, a 24-year-old 200-level Material Science Engineering student at the Kwara State University, is lying critically ill in the hospital after sustaining serious injuries while running away from armed policemen attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Lagos State Police Command.
Adedayo who spoke to Punch, said he was in Lagos undergoing his Industrial training when he was accosted by some policeman at Cele bus stop as he was heading towards the Yaba area of the state last Monday.
They searched his phone and also his modem and found nothing incriminating. Instead of letting him go, they ordered him into their vehicle. He resisted and ran away from them. While they were pursuing him, he jumped off a bridge and sustained serious injuries.

A few months ago, some policemen accosted me at Durba (Lagos) and accused me of being an Internet fraudster without any evidence against me. They took me to First Avenue, FESTAC Town, and collected the only N2,000 on me before I was released. I suffered before I got home that day.”
“When I stopped. The policeman quickly parked his motorcycle and pointed his gun at me, threatening to shoot me. Out of fear, I jumped off the bridge.” he said
Accordng to him, the police officers took to their heels when they discovered he was unconcious. Passersby rushed him to the General hospital, Isolo for treatment.
“I was then rushed to the General Hospital, Isolo, from where I was transferred to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi. I have not reported the incident in any police station because have just been discharged from the hospital,” he said

Amidst the controversy surrounding her NYSC Certificate, Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun on Monday held a meeting with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Debt Management Office (DMO).
This is Adeosun’s first public appearance since news broke that she allegedly forged a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate.
The Minister has failed to either accept or deny the accusations since last week.
In a terse statement signed by NYSC’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi and obtained by Daily Post, the Scheme said available records indicate that Adeosun did apply for an Exemption Certificate.
NYSC, however, did not disclose whether the Minister was issued with an Exemption Certificate in response to her application.
‘If any one can go to heaven, talk to God, and take a selfie – I will resign.’
President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte has offered to resign if anyone can take a selfie with God to prove he exists. His comments came just days after he called God “stupid”.
The latest outburst shows Duterte, aged 73, increasingly at odds with the Church in which he was raised and to which most Filipinos belong.
In the last few days, Duterte has also said he does not like the “creeping influence” of the Catholic Church. In addition, his presidential spokesman has accused the Church of working with Communist rebels to overthrow the government in the Philippines. The spokesman said the Church “sometimes runs counter to what the government believes to be good for the people, at least in this temporal life”.
In his latest speech on Saturday at the inauguration of the Malayan colleges in Mindanao, Duterte invited everyone “to become agents of hope and catalysts of progress”.
He urged all sectors of our society to keep supporting his administration’s development agenda, especially in pursuits that would educate our young and empower more Filipinos, and his government’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs and criminality.
“This will be helpful in ridding ourselves of the social ills that have shackled our growth and hindered our country from achieving its full potential.”
After describing his own progress through the education system and then his career in law and politics, he said he believed in God, but did not believe in a God who intervenes in the world. “Otherwise there would be no widespread injustice: hunger, killings, and all.”

The Catholic bishops in the Philippines have been highly critical of Duterte’s crackdown on drugs, which has resulted in thousands of deaths.
Two priests have themselves been shot this year, one only last month. In the last few days the bishops have called for fasting and prayers after Duterte called God “stupid”.
The president said in his latest address: “Every Filipino is entitled to criticise me as a matter of right. A general, a school dean, the academe, the students.”
If he falls short of expectations they are right to criticise because he will have failed them in his promises. “But certainly not a foreigner, however holy, he said. He will not allow foreigners to attack him, just as he is not allowed to attack leaders of other countries.
Referring to the priests, and the Church, and everybody connected with any religion or whatever, he continued: “When you criticise me, criticise me with all the heart’s content. Do it. I’m even asking you to do it.” However, the separation of Church and state is a principle of the republican system of government.
“So when you criticise me, do not use the platform of God, that God will send you to hell, that God will never forgive you, hell is waiting for you. Do not do it. Do not take God — God’s name in vain. It’s fundamental. It’s almost basic. There is really a clear cut between religion and governance. You cannot use God to criticise me.”
He has never said he does not believe in God. “But something terrible happened when we were young… while confessing, we were fondled.”
So when he graduated, he decided he no longer believed in the Catholic God and created his own God instead – a God of justice and fairness. “My God is my service to the people. Period.”
