A Twitter user, with the handle, @eDante_, has taken to the social networking platform to share the photo of how LASTMA officer in Lagos begged for mercy after his hand was trapped by a driver who wound up as he tried to forcefully enter the car.
The officer of the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA), is seen in the viral photo begging for mercy after the driver wound up his window, trapping his hand as the officer tried to forcefully gain entrance into the vehicle.
According to an eyewitness, the LASTMA officer was trapped for over 10 minutes and passersby had to join in begging the driver to free the officer.
He wrote:
“One lastma guy tried to enter someone’s car just now, this locked the lastma guy’s hand with the glass. From shouting, people had to beg him Over 10mins.

Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus, has also called out Instagram beggars who now see her as their enemy.
The actress lamented that most of the DM’s she gets from young people is not about medical or life threatening incidents, but money to pay rent or one course in school.

Like many others, I receive direct messages from young people asking me to help them out with their problems.
They need money to pay for one thing or the other. 90% of the time it’s nothing medical or life threatening, just money to pay rent or one course in school.
I take time to read through their stories and help as many as I can but trust and believe that my contribution may not solve the problem totally.
I try to follow up with these people and I find that they always end up in the same place (broke).
So I started asking them to learn a trade, use their talent, get mentors, learn from YouTube.
If these people have enough data to come and ask for money on social media then they would definitely have enough to learn something from YouTube or other free webinars.

One of Jacob Zuma’s son, Vusi Nhlakanipho Zuma has died. He is believed to have been born in 1993.
Vusi Nhlakanipho, who was the youngest son of Zuma and his late wife Kate Mantsho, died on Sunday night in Johannesburg after a short illness, News 24 reported.
Vukile Mathabela, the media liaison at the Presidency, told News24 that details of Vusi’s death would be released later on Monday, once a family spokesperson is appointed.
Kate Mantsho‚ who committed suicide in 2000, had five children for Zuma. She was 44 when she died, after taking an overdose of sleeping pills and malaria tablets.
Vusi Nhlakanipho was believed to have been born in 1993. His siblings include the well-known twins Duduzane and Duduzile.
Condolences have been pouring in for Zuma, with Reverend Jesse Jackson tweeting on Sunday night that he was sending his prayers and condolences to the Zuma family.
Polygamous Zuma has as many as 24 children, from many wives.

Ex-Super Eagles midfielder, Wilson Oghenekevwe Oruma has opened up on his travail in the hands of fraudsters who duped him of about N2billion in his bid to establish himself after retiring from active football.
Speaking about it for the first time with the Guardian, he confirmed the sad incident and revealed some of his relations were involved in the deal that saw him lose close to N2 billion.
“This is my first time of speaking with any journalist on this,’ he said.

Nigerian rapper, Ruggedman has disclosed that SARS Operatives over the weekend abducted his friend, wife and 8-month old baby and only left them after collecting a bribe of N38,000.
He claimed that it was a kidnap because when they were picked up, they weren’t taken to the police station, instead they took them to a bush along Imoto road in Ikorodu to extort them’.
Officers of the Nigerian Police Force deployed to Borno State today took to streets of Maiduguri in protest of six months of unpaid allowances.
The police officers were said to have been deployed to Borno State from various units across Nigeria to help in the fight against insurgency.
The angry police officers were also shooting in the air on Monday morning forcing motorists nearby to scamper to safety. .
One of the police officers, was quoted as saying: “we can no longer tolerate this; for over six months now we have no allowances not any decent accommodation; we sleep on corridors of officers and sometimes in the open air; enough is enough”. .
However, the Commissioner of Police in Borno State, Damian Chukwu, said the police is aware of the situation. He explained that the unpaid allowances had to do with the delay in signing the 2018 budget.
The Nigerian Police Force has reacted to reports that some mobile policemen this morning disrupted movement in Maiduguri as they went on a protest about their six months unpaid allowances.
In an interview with NTA moments ago, the force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood said ‘no Policeman protested in Borno or anywhere in the country. Salary is being paid as at when due but some PMF personnel in Maiduguri only went to make enquiry on their allowances’.

The Lagos State Government is going to restrict tankers and trailers movement to designated routes.
According to online reports, the State Government had a meeting with stakeholders, NUPENG (Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers) , Pertroleum Tank Drivers (PTD), Container Truck Owners Association of Nigeria, National Association of Transport Operators (NATO), among others.
Following the tragic accident that happened along the Otedola bridge at Berger, that claimed lives and properties.
The State Government said it is now mandatory for all articulated trucks, coming into Lagos to obtain the Ministry of Transportation’s road worthiness certificate at any designated center within the next 30 days.
The Lagos state commissioner for Transportation made this announcement after a stakeholder meeting in Alausa, Ikeja.
Mr Ladi Lawanson also mentioned the preliminary investigation into the Otedola bridge incident revealed a combination of vehicular defects and human error.
He also added that the government with partnership with all the stakeholders would set up joint enforcement of the operating laws, while barriers would be installed on bridges in Lagos to prevent articulated trucks including, Ojuelegba, Ajah, lekki, Mobolaji, Anthony, Ekodeso, Abule Egba, amongst others.

The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo says Christians in Nigeria have all decided to commit the country to God in order to achieve the much anticipated greatness.

The late legendary Reggae artist, Augustine Okeleke Onwubuya, also known as Ras Kimono who passed on at the age of 60 will be buried on August 25, 2018.
A statement issued by the family and made available to newsmen reads, “We wish to inform the general public that the Burial Ceremony for late Ras Kimono has been slated for the 25th day of August, 2018.
“The program of the events leading to the funeral will be made available in due course.
“We wish to thank everyone who has individually and collectively supported us during these trying times and we pray the Almighty God to guide and protect us all.”
